"Ijinnnn!" a smile graced his lips as Jaehyung hooked an arm around his neck, pulling him closer as he did so," Is there anything you cant do?!"
Oh, that was easy.
He couldn't pin people like 006, or Liam could. That guy was better at it than anyone else.
He also couldn't sneak around as Liam could. If he was silent, then Liam was like a ghost that would reveal his location like a ghost. It was only after knowing the guy for most of his time in Grian when he was able to tell when Liam was lurking around.
But he was pretty sure that was not going to be a socially acceptable answer. Which was fine, there was still a lot of civilian stuff he couldn't do.
"Swim," There were no water holes or swimming pools for him to learn in Grian. There were rivers, but those were the same rivers that had wildlife that wouldn't mind a snack.
Not to mention, his handlers didn't teach him how to swim. They didn't even like him enough as a person to even consider that. He was just there to follow orders and kill, not to learn life skills.
Jaehyung looked surprised, his eyebrows raising towards his red hair," Seriously?"
He nodded his head," My-" He scrambled for the Korean word for handlers.
Yeah, that was a bad idea to say that.
"The people who raised me never taught me. There wasn't any safe bodies of water to use either."
And the grin on Jaehyungs face.
He already had a bad feeling about this.
The smell of chemicals and water was an odd combination to him. It smelled nothing like the bodies of water he had grown up around. It wasn't unpleasant though, just a change from what he's used to.
With bright smiles, Jaehyung, Yeongchan, and Hyeokjin led him into the changing room. They practically threw his newly bought swim shorts and shirt at him in the process.
Everything was normal until he walked out of the cubicle in his swim shorts, his swim shirt already bunched onto his arms as he got ready to put it on.
"Dude!" the sudden outburst of Hyeokjin almost scared him," Where the fuck did you get that?!"
Slightly confused, he looked down at his ribs, where his classmate had been pointing at. Hyeokjins' outburst had caught the attention of Yeongchan and Jaehyung, who were now also gaping at the scar on his side.
He hummed as he looked down at the scar, trying to remember where he had gotten that particular scar.
"Ah," He finally remembered. He had gotten ambushed by one of the older mercenaries right after he had gained the 001 title. Something about the mercenary being pissed that he, a 14-year-old, had managed to beat him.
Which honestly wasn't Ijin's problem in the slightest, but the mercenary decided to take it out on him after he returned from a mission.
That was the only reason he had actually managed to get hurt since he was all types of exhausted after returning.
The scar was worse than the initial wound since the guy's knife had cut open the skin on his ribs, creating a gash that went from the side of his ribs under his arm, extending all the way to the front of his chest. It wasn't deep, but it didn't scar nicely.
None of his wounds had scarred nicely, since he just had bandages thrown at him and was told to figure it out.
Ijin looked around and was relieved to see that since they came so early to the public pool, it was only them in there.
There was really no way to explain it using anything but the truth.
He would just leave out the fact that he was being attacked because he was a mercenary as well.
"A man tried to kill me when I was 14."
"What?!"
"What the fuck?!"
"Are you serious?!"
He hummed as he pulled the rest of the shirt over him. He heard more sharp inhales, so they probably saw all the scars he had on his chest and stomach as well.
He just wished that as a child, he had learned faster so he wouldn't have so many scars.
"Yes. I annoyed him apparently. Fortunately, some nearby villagers stopped him before he could." More like he had killed the mercenary first.
But they didn't need to know that.
Hyeokjin groaned into his hands while their other two friends looked like they were trying not to pass out," Ijin I swear to god. You are going to be the end me. Where the fuck did you grow up?!"
He just shrugged his shoulders, not willing to answer the question in the slightest. He walked out before they could continue to pester them with their questions.
He was there to learn how to swim, not to dance around the truth to answer their questions.
His past was going to come out one day.
Especially with the way the Camp found out that he was alive. It was only going to be a matter of time, even with Liams and 032's help to throw them off his trail.
He just hoped that they would continue to be his friends when they did find out.
