Although Ijin was a rather quiet student that had scared the shit out of almost everyone when he first transferred. It didn't take long for everyone to realize that despite his eventful first two weeks at their school, he was a kind-hearted person.

He would help if he was asked, would help without prompt as well as various other things. He was distant but was honest and true to himself. He had never been heard talking bad about anyone. He did his work dutifully and was always willing to admit when he was lacking knowledge in a particular subject or question. All were admirable qualities.

When one of the second-year boys hurt his leg during soccer, Ijin had no problem offering a shoulder for the boy to lean on as they went to the nurse's office. After a while, Ijin seemed to get a little bit annoyed by the pace they were walking at and just picked up the lowerclassman in a piggyback ride.

It would have been a typical princess carry if the second year hadn't begged him to let him keep what little dignity he had left.

He was exceedingly kind.

But there was one rule everyone equally agreed on.

Don't mess with his sister.

"Dude. She's cute as shit." Baek, a second-year transfer stupid breathed out as he turned around to get a good look at the first year who was walking by.

It was his second day of school, and he was somewhat mad at himself that he didn't notice such a girl earlier.

The class representative turned to look at the girl Baek was talking about and hummed in agreement," She is. She's a first year. I recommend you leave her alone."

"Huh?" Baek said dumbly as he walked into the classroom," Why do you say that?"

The class representative, Ahn, sat down at his desk with a sigh," Her older brother is a third year. He's really nice, but he's extremely protective of her."

He nodded his head in understanding," Ah," It was a good quality, to be protective of your siblings," What did he do?" he got a blank look so he added on," You wouldn't be warning me if nothing happened."

Ahn nodded in understanding, it was a good point," Some third years were bullying her. She was their shuttle for HuIjin and her friends. HuIjins brother was a bully here with his friends. They were all big and the brother was trained in kickboxing. No one messed with them."

Sounds like the typical school bully story.

"What did he do? I-uh- I mean the first years brother."

There was a chuckle," Her name is Dayeon, and her brother is Ijin," Baek was glad that he finally had names to tie to the pair," Anyway. after they tried ganging up on him. Ijin beat them up. All of four of them, at the same time."

His eyebrows rose," Really?!"

Well that was impressive as shit.

"Yes. HuIjin and her brother ended up going overseas after their politician father had his corrupted practices exposed. Although they say that they moved away after Ijin blackmailed their family."

He took in a sharp breath," No way," he said firmly," He's just a year older than us. I doubt he did that!"

Ahn shrugged a shoulder," It's a rumor man. It's up to you if you want to believe it or not.

Yeah…

He wasn't going to believe that particular rumor.

There was no way in hell a mere 19 year old managed to do such a thing to a politician…

He didn't get a chance to talk to her until a few days later.

She was even cuter up close and he only wanted to talk to her even more. He saw her waiting by her usual spot by the front gate and just as he made up his mind that he was going to ignore the butterflies in his stomach and try talking to her!

A boy from his class cut him off, almost shoving him out of the way to get to Dayeon first.

His classmate took an entirely different approach.

While Baek had been planning on becoming friends with her first, there was no point in falling in love with someone only to find out that they had a shit personality. His classmate just went right for it, asking her out on a date since they were 'both' interested in each other.

He started to get red flags when Dayeon shyly smiled," Thank you for the consideration," Her voice was calm, and had a cordial tone to her voice," But I am not interested in a relationship at the moment."

That had to be the most polite and composed rejection he had ever heard…

Then the red flag was sucker punching him in the face when his classmate responded," Then why were you being so nice to me?"

"Because I'm nice to every one?" she started to squirm on the spot, losing her composure as she looked up at the second year that almost towered over her," I-I don't like you that way. I was just being polite."

His classmate's tone took a turn for the worst," You wouldn't have been so nice if you weren't interested in me. Admit it, you like me." He leaned in as he said that to Dayeon, leaning close enough where Baek was getting uncomfortable just watching.

Yeah, that was his sign to step in.

"Hey!" he yanked the boy back by the back of his collar. Although he was shorter, he had taken his classmate off guard," Don't be a fucking creep!"

Shit, he understood being interested in a girl but what the fuck!

"Stay out of this Baek!" he snarled out, quickly standing up to his full height as Baek put himself between Dayeon and his shitty classmate," This has nothing to do with you!"

"Its my business when you're being a piece of shit! Leave her the fuck alone!"

Just as his classmate opened his mouth to snarl something back, Baek's heart leaped into his throat when a hand grabbed his classmate by his collar.

And shit.

Ahn was not kidding when he said that Dayeons older brother was scary.

His classmate paled when he saw that the silver haired third year, who Baek could only assume to be none other than Ijin, was the one holding on to him.

Despite the blank look on Ijins face, he could see the veins on their 19-year-olds hand throbbing as he held on to his collar," I better not see you close to Dayeon again." His words were deceptively calm, his tone almost monotonous with a slight warning tone to it.

His eyes told a completely different story, they were the eyes of a man who wouldn't hesitate to do whatever possible to protect his precious ones.

As he had heard, Ijin was terrifying enough to make his classmate scurry off the moment Ijin let him go, throwing a terrified apology over his shoulder in the process.

Baek flinched when Ijin directed his gaze towards him, that hard gaze in his eyes as he looked at him up and down.

Before Baek could even start an explanation, he saw the brother's eyes flick over to something behind him, before his gaze softened considerably.

It was a 180 when he asked," Are you guys okay?"

"We're fine," Dayeon answered immediately, her voice at a slightly higher pitch," He stopped Chul before he did anything," Oh so that's was his classmate's name.

When Ijin looked at him again, Baek stiffened up," Thank you," Baek blinked in surprise," I appreciate you looking out for my sister."

He stared up at Ijin.

He was scary as shit but he really was as nice as Ahn said.

"Er, its no problem. Chul was being a creep."

"Still," The third-year said firmly, giving Baek a nod that managed to convey his approval," I will remember this."

Baek just stared as the siblings continued to thank him.

He continued to stare as they said their goodbyes and took a few seconds to remember his manners long enough to return their farewells.

Well.

It was most definitely a bad idea to pursue Dayeon in such a way.

But maybe she (Ijin) wouldn't mind them being friends?
