Hyeokjin had asked Ijin to google something on the desktop.

Now he was just wondering if Ijin was trying to piss him off.

Because if he was.

It was working.

He felt his eye twitch as he saw Ijin google fucking google in google!

He googled fucking google in the google search bar!

"Ijin…are you trying to piss me off or something?"

"Huh?" Ijin looked up at him from his place from the desk, tilting his head to the side as he usually did when he was genuinely confused," No?"

Great now he felt like a massive dick.

He sighed heavily.

"Nevermind…"

Sometimes it was a damn miracle Ijin didn't need to take the senior citizens computer course…

He pressed down on the button for the headset," Clear at the east entrance." It was their usual check-in as they waited for Yeona to come out of the building with some of the other bodyguards.

" )# *$* #*&$^%."

He blinked in surprise.

That was Ijins voice.

But it was definitely not in Korean or any language he had ever heard of.

" West entrance is clear." Ijins voice came over the headset again, a slightly bashful tone that Seokju wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't been friends," I apologize for the mistake."

He exchanged looks with his partner and he looked just as confused as he felt.

Although it did make sense that Ijin mixed up languages when he remembered that Ijin grew up speaking a different language for most of his life.

Even now, Seokju could see times when Ijin had to pause to try and find the proper translation of whatever he wanted to say.

Still, it was rather odd that Ijin had mixed up languages while on duty, his concentration was usually impeccable.

"He grew up speaking a different language."

That short explanation had been enough for his partner to understand what just happened.

"Ah."

He should probably still check up on him.

"Ughhhhhhhhhh," Jaehyung dragged out his groan as he leaned against Ijin's back, propping his chin onto the crown of his friend's head as he sat at his desk," I forgot we were having a note check today. Lemme see yours?"

Ijin, who was used to Jaehyung leaning against him like that, just hummed," Sure." He passed his notes over his shoulder.

Jaehyung only looked at them for two seconds before he realized something.

"What the fuck is wrong with your notes?"

"Oh," Yeongchan looked up from his own notes to answer," Ijin writes in some shorthand for his notes."

"You do?!"

Ijin hummed again, a small smile on his lips as he took his notes back," Its faster and they can't read my notes."

Understanding dawned onto Jaehyung," So they can't deduct points for having bad notes!"

"Exactly."

"Dude," Jaehyung was leaning against Ijin again, much to Ijin's amusement.

"You're a fucking genius."

If only he could apply those smarts to video games.

Hamchang Kang blinked blearily at Ijin.

Ijin blinked at him back, a bag of ice being held to the side of his head.

He sighed heavily," Ijin," It was almost the middle of the night (in his eyes), and for a man like him, he truly valued his sleep," What happened?"

The suited-up man next to him sighed heavily," Unfortunately, in the process of getting equipment from the storage area. Ijin pushed his teammate out of the way of a falling box. only for him to get hit himself."

Yeah, that sounded like Ijin.

"I'm fine Major," Ijin said as he held the bag of ice to his head.

Kang looked at the man with a raised eyebrow.

The man sighed," We have a policy when it comes to head injuries. He seems to have a mild concussion but rules are rules."

Kang nodded solemnly," Rules are rules. Come on Ijin time to go home."

Ijin did not want to go home," I am fine Major. This is not my first concussion."

Yeah, he said that a little bit too casually for his taste, and by the look on the man's face, for his liking as well.

"Yeah yeah Ijin. I know," He grabbed Ijins by his upper arm, tugging him along when he felt a little bit of resistance," Just humor me for now."

There was a heavy sigh.

"Yes sir."

Well, at least he wasn't putting up too much of a fight.

Kang let out a typical old man sigh when he climbed into the car," Not that I mind. But why did you list me down as your guardian?"

Ijin looked slightly confused," Why wouldn't I?"

Oh, this kid.

Was this how it felt like to be a father?

Probably.

"Because I'm not your legal guardian."

There was silence.

"They told me to put down someone I could trust." Kang glanced at Ijin out of the corner of his eye, taking note of the kid's dead serious expression.

"Why wouldn't I put you?"

It took everything he had to not blush.

With an awkward cough, he dismissed the topic and quickly dropped off Ijin.

As soon as he saw Ijin enter the apartment building with a wave.

He sighed heavily and sat back in his seat.

"huh…" he thought over Ijins words carefully, his chest becoming tight with what Ijin had said.

"I guess I'm a father now…"

They were staring at Ijin with blatant looks of disgust on their faces.

When Ijin had asked that they bring him an orange to eat.

They had expected him to eat the orange like a freaking normal person.

Still distracted by whatever he was typing on his phone, he took another bite out of the orange.

Peel and all.

It took a few seconds of them staring at him, but he finally noticed and looked up at them. Tilting his head to the side to silently ask them what was wrong as he chewed through the orange peel and its flesh.

"Ijin…" surprisingly, it was Seokju who started speaking, disgust was written all over his face as he said," You're kidding right?"

Ijin rose an eyebrow as he swallowed his mouthful of fruit," Am I kidding?"

And that's when they realized.

That he was not kidding.

He took another bite out of the orange as he was waiting for their explanation, and they couldn't stop the shiver going down their spines when they saw that.

"Just…"Jaehyung said slowly,"…nevermind…"

Ijin still looked confused.

They were confused on who the hell could eat an orange peel and find absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Seokju shivered as he waited out in the hallway of Ijins home. After they all had gotten caught in a freak winter rainstorm (Good thing Yeona had gone home to do some homework) they were all waiting their turn to warm up in Ijins home bathroom.

As kind as Ijin was, it was known that he absolutely despised being cold, so he did not even put it up for debate if he was going to go first or not. Even if there was, they wouldn't have argued since it was pitiful to see Ijin shivering in what they found to be cool weather.

A head popped out of the bathroom. Ijin was leaning around the edge of the door, his hair all types of messed up as he whispered," Where's Dayeon?"

Hyeokjin grunted," She's in her room. Still changing." Either Dayeon took a while to change, or Ijin had showered pretty fast.

He nodded his head," I forgot to grab clothes," He said bashfully as he stepped out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped firmly around his waist.

Their eyes were bulging out of their heads.

It wasn't the fact that Ijin was half-naked that was making them stare.

It was the number of scars that littered their friend's upper body that was making them stare.

There was a lot. Roughly circular scars that had to be bullet wounds. Long scars that had to come from knives or other sharp objects.

There was even a patch of skin that looked like had been given a second-degree burn at the very least at one point in time.

He didn't notice their stares as he went over to his room," Let me change and I'll grab clothes for you guys."

They saw a glimpse of his back, and there were even more scars. Seokju even saw the scar he had gotten after his shoulder had gotten shot when he was saving Jiyeh.

They stared at his closed bedroom door, still reeling over what they just saw.

"What the fuck."

Seokju couldn't help but agree.
