Leena's POV

"You're not making my life easy Shepard, fights in the wards? An all-out assault in Chora's Den? Do you know how many?"

Ambassador Udina turned around to bitch some more but stopped when he saw the Quarian, Cypher, and I.

"What's this? A Shifter, Metal Dragon, and a Quarian? What are you up to Shepard?"

Udina was an asshole in my opinion.

"This Quarian can help us bring down Saren, Leena and Cypher were at the location as well" Shepard answered. "I would've told you that if you hadn't jumped down my throat"

"I apologize Commander this whole thing with Saren has me a bit on edge maybe we should start at the beginning Miss?" Udina looked to the Quarian.

"My name is Tali" the Quarian answered. "Tali Zorah nar Rayaya"

"That's a mouth full" Cypher muttered and I told him to zip it.

"We don't see many quarians here, why did you leave the Flotilla?"

"I was on my Pilgrimage" Tali began. "My rite of passage into adulthood"

Commander Shepard inquired about the evidence Tali had to expose Saren.

"During my travels, I began hearing reports of geth" Tali continued. "Since they drove my people into exile the geth have never ventured behind the Veil, I was curious"

She then explained she tracked the geth to an uncharted world and waited for one to be separated from its unit, then Tali disabled it and took the memory core.

"I thought the geth fried their memory cores when they died some kind of defense mechanism"

The man who spoke was a captain from the looks of his uniform.

A few seconds later Tali played the recording. And I felt my blood go cold when I heard Saren's voice.

"Eden Prime was a major victory! The beacon has brought us one step closer to finding the Conduit"

"That's Saren's voice this proves he was involved in the attack"

"He won't get out of this one" Shepard stated.

"Wait there's more" Tali interrupted. "Saren wasn't working alone"

Sure enough, after the recording was replayed another voice spoke and it was female.

"And once step closer to the return of the Reapers"

I didn't like the sound of that.

"I feel like I've heard that name before"

"According to the memory core, the Reapers were a hyper-advanced machine race that existed 50,000 years ago, the Reapers hunted the Protheans to total extinction, and then they vanished at least that's what the geth believe"

Udina seemed skeptical hell I was too. Shepard then mentioned a vision he had on Eden Prime. The vision was the Protheans being destroyed by these Reapers.

"The geth revere the Reapers as gods, the pinnacle of non-organic life, and they believe Saren knows how to bring the Reapers back"

"The council is just going to love this" Udina complained. He then looked at me and Cypher. "Leena was it?"

"Yes sir" I replied. "As Commander Shepard explained I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, Cypher"

I gestured to the Metal Dragon on my shoulder.

"Was captured by Saren's men probably to make a profit, I found him due to the link we share, one of the thugs mentioned I was not to be harmed per Saren's instructions, why that is I have no idea"

"Leena I can ask the council for protection for you" Shepard offered. "Whatever reason why Saren wants you unharmed is troubling, and your life could be in danger from any enemies of Saren's"

"I agree with that" Garrus added.

The turian looked at me and I did my best not to blush.

"Very well" Udina agreed. "The council needs to hear this as soon as possible"

The meeting was adjourned and our next destination was the Citadel Tower.

A Short Period Later.

Commander Shepard was with the council along with the captain who was named Anderson. Garrus and Wrex were with them as well. I was waiting for my fate to be addressed.

"Was Saren something to you?" Tali asked as we waited for the others to return.

"He was an acquaintance, to be honest" I replied to her. "He was kind to me and made me feel welcomed here"

"Hmm, perhaps you mean something to him" Tali suggested. "It would explain why he wants your safety ensured"

I only shrugged.

"Leena's heart belongs to Garrus" Cypher blurted out and I immediately shut his mouth using a hand. I was now blushing and Cypher growled. Tali chuckled at the Metal Dragon's remark. Sighing I told Cypher to mind his mouth before releasing his snout.

"He's right my heart does belong to Garrus Vakarian" I finally confessed.

"I think that's sweet to be honest" Tali complimented. "Have you told him?"

I shook my head and felt my face turn even redder.

"He might not feel the same way"

"You won't know until you tell him" Tali suggested. "In all honesty, I think the turian cares for you more than you know"

The conversation ended when Commander Shepard rejoined us with Garrus and Wrex behind him.

"So how did the meeting go?"

"Saren's status as a Spectre has been stripped, the council named me the First Human Spectre and I'm going after him, I would like for you to join my crew, Leena"

My eyes went wide as the Commander continued. The human glanced at Garrus.

"Garrus says your a skilled mechanic as are you good with guns, this way you'll be safe"

I honestly didn't know what to say. All sorts of things went through my mind and after some thinking did I speak.

"If I come with you my employer will need to be notified"

"Don't worry I'll make sure that's taken care of" Shepard reassured me. "And Cypher can come as well, he might be useful"

Cypher growled at that comment and swished his tail in annoyance.

"I'm honored to join your crew Shepard," I said.

Garrus looked relieved and told Shepard he would go back to my apartment with me so I could pack.

Back at Leena's Apartment.

"You looked relieved when I told the Commander my decision to come," I told Garrus as I gathered my things.

"I only want to see you safe Leena" the turian responded.

Cypher was in the next room while Garrus and I were in my bedroom.

"Shepard has a point I could be a target for any one of Saren's enemies" I continued. "And I have no desire to die anytime soon"

My comment made Garrus chuckle. I felt my face go red when he laughed. His laughs were one of the many things I loved about him. I just wish I wasn't such a damn coward.

"What troubles me is that it's obvious your important to that bastard" Garrus growled. The bastard he was referring to was Saren. With a sigh, I turned to look at the turian I loved.

"Saren may view me as a possible partner, but he doesn't have my heart"

In Garrus's eyes, I saw relief again. So Tali was right Garrus Vakarian did seem to care about me.

"Oops can't forget that" I nodded in the direction of my violin.

"A damned shame if you did" Garrus agreed watching as I went to the stringed instrument. Playing the violin was a hobby of mine since I was a child. "You play well"

I shot Garrus a look to quit teasing me. He simply chuckled again and I playfully smacked his arm in reprimand.
