Leena's POV

"You seriously remind me of Laura Croft" Shepard joked as the Normandy was about to drop one of the transports onto Therum. For this mission, the Commander chose me along with Garrus. Cypher was with us as well since his illusions could prove useful.

I was out of my usual clothes and in black armor that would be reliable for combat. I had my reliable guns and my hair was pulled back similar to Laura Croft's. Only it wasn't a braid and I wasn't wearing the Tomb Raider's signature clothing.

"Glad to see another gamer" I replied. "Though I prefer RPG's, like the Final Fantasy series"

Shepard snorted before the transport lurched and we were headed towards the ground. The transport landed with a thud and Cypher growled. Therum was a planet surrounded by volcanoes. Shepard drove the transport through the volcano wastelands. During the drive, Shepard fired against several geth.

The Commander drove around for probably fifteen or twenty minutes before eventually stopping at what appeared to be a gated passageway. We all had to exit the transport so the gates could be opened and to do that we had to examine the nearby warehouses.

While inside the warehouses several geth fired at our group. I had the pleasure of blowing their brains out with my guns as Cypher used his illusion gift so he wasn't visible to the geth when he used his dragon fire on them.

"Damn that little guy sure can breathe" Garrus joked after Cypher finished scorching another geth.

"His dragon fire is even deadlier in his larger form" I informed the male turian as Cypher returned and he decided to land on Garrus to rest.

Shepard managed to get the gates unlocked and we left the warehouses to return to the transport. Garrus chose to drive this time and the turian guided the vehicle until it was obvious we had to go on foot. I had Cypher fly ahead of us so he could take down more geth. Our group had to shoot down the ugly bastards that crossed our paths.

When we arrived at some structure we had to deal with a larger geth along with its smaller companions. Bringing the damn thing down wasn't easy but eventually, it became lifeless after being shot at and burned to cinders by Cypher.

"Yo I found something!" Cypher shouted from above and he flew over to what looked to be an archaeology dig site that went underground. The Metal Dragon returned to my shoulder after the area was cleared by Garrus and Shepard. Seeing this dig site was our next area to examine the four of us entered it.

Like outside we dealt with more geth inside but they were easy to take care of with our artillery. It was obvious the site were ruins of some kind and I was curious which race these ruins once belonged to. Garrus said it was a Prothean ruin by the looks of things. The Commander found an elevator and we rode it downwards.

When we exited some more geth had to be gotten rid of. Due to these ruins only gunfire could be used because Cypher's flames could damage them. The Metal Dragon simply had to hang on when I fired my guns at the damn geth. Due to his illusions, no one could see him perched on my shoulder.

We rode another elevator downwards but the old rust bucket decided to die on us when it finished making its descent.

"Uh hello? Could you please help me?"

The voice was female and I had Cypher fly ahead to find whoever the voice belonged to. The Metal Dragon called us over and within a Prothean device was a blue Asari. For an Asari she was young and she looked stressed.

Cypher chose to land on Shepard this time as we approached the trapped Asari. She looked relieved to see us.

"Can you hear me out there? I'm trapped and need help"

"Liara T' Soni I presume" Shepard stated.

"Thank the goddess I did not think anyone would come looking for me" the Asari continued. "Listen this thing I'm in is a Prothean security device, I cannot move so I need you to get me out of here alright?"

Liara's mother was working with Saren so Shepard at first was hesitant but Liara reassured us she was nothing like her mother and hadn't spoken to her in years.

"She's telling the truth," I told the men. My attention went back to Liara. "How did you get in there?"

"I was exploring the ruins when the geth showed up so I hid in here, can you believe it? Geth beyond the Veil! I activated the tower's defenses so I knew the barrier curtains would keep them out, when I turned it on I must have hit something I wasn't supposed to, I was trapped please you must get me out"

"We should probably look around to find a way to get her out" Garrus suggested.

Liara warned us there was a Krogan with the geth which wasn't surprising. Cypher took flight and went to look for something to help getting Liara out. No sooner had we left Liara some damn geth fired at us. I was getting annoyed with this freaking geth and their antics. Our group descended to the lower level of the ruins and along the way more geth were shot down.

Cypher was perched on some sort of laser and upon examination, it looked like it could help. Cypher flew back onto my shoulder before Shepard activated the device. A second later a laser blasted apart some rubble and it formed an entrance below where Liara was trapped. Beyond the entryway was an elevator and we took it to the same level where Liara was trapped.

The Asari was glad we found a way to get to her and a few minutes later she was freed.

"Any idea how we get out of this place?" Garrus asked.

"There is an elevator back in the center of the tower I think at least it's an elevator it should take us out of here" Liara answered.

"Yep, there's one we just used it" I confirmed.

When we got to the elevator Liara wondered why the geth were possibly after her and she suspected her mother was involved. Shepard explained Saren was looking for the Conduit which confused her but before more words could be exchanged the sounds of the ruins alarmed us. The mining laser had triggered a seismic event so we had to get the hell out of here. Shepard ordered Joker to have the Normandy ready to get us and once Joker said he was on his way did Liara activate the elevator and we headed up towards the surface.
