Leena's POV

Fai Dan hadn't been kidding when he said there was a lot of geth between the skyway and ExoGeni. Our group helped around with the other colonists before we entered the transport and went through the skyway. While driving and shooting at the geth we heard a transmission and on the other end was a woman who sounded stressed.

When we got close to where the transmission was we all got out and we found more colonists. A woman who looked to be middle-aged looked annoyed with the man she was talking with.

"That's close enough!" the man snapped.

The woman told her companion to chill out but the idiot demanded who we were.

Commander Shepard introduced himself along with Garrus, Cypher, and I. He also told the two colonists we were here to deal with the geth. The woman introduced herself as Juliana, when we told her some other colonists were still alive she turned her attention back to her companion.

"You told me they were all dead"

"I said they were probably all dead"

This guy was an asshole and I wanted nothing more than to shut him up. Cypher didn't like him either due to the Metal Dragon swishing his tail back and forth. Before we left to go to ExoGeni Headquarters, Juliana told us her daughter was at ExoGeni and to be on the lookout. The man made another comment and having enough I stormed over to the asshole and sucker-punched him hard in the gut.

He fell onto the ground unconscious and Cypher muttered.

"That idiot was pissing me off"

"Same here" I agreed.

Our group then departed and we got back into the transport. The drive to ExoGeni was the same as before with constant gunfire exchange with many geth along the way. We eventually arrived at the headquarters in question and began to look around.

For the most part, everything seemed quiet except for the few times we shot down geth we came across.

"Hey what the hell is that?" Cypher asked looking ahead.

Dead on the floor was some kind of animal and by the looks of it, the creature was shot down. Suddenly gunfire rang out and a woman's voice protested.

"Damn it!"

We pointed our weapons at a human woman but after realizing we weren't a threat did she lower her gun.

"I'm so sorry! I thought you were geth or Tharen"

With some reassurance from Shepard, the woman introduced herself as Lizbeth. She was the missing daughter Juliana spoke about from before.

"You don't need to worry about your mother she's alive," I told the human.

"Oh thank god" she answered with a sigh of relief.

Deciding to get more information Shepard asked why Lizbeth was still here. The human female explained she had been trying to back up data when the geth arrived. Apparently, the Geth ship latched onto some power structure because the power went out. There was also some sort of energy field up that was meant to keep others out.

"Screw it I think the geth are after the Thorian"

"The what?" Garrus, Cypher, and I asked in unison.

"It's an indigenous lifeform ExoGeni was studying it, I can try and get you some more information but the energy field has to be brought down first"

Lizbeth was pretty certain the geth were powering the field due to power cables being laid down. She then gave us her ID in case we needed to get through locked doors of any kind. She then told us to look out and we all turned to see some alive Tharen coming our way.

While we shot the animals down Cypher killed some Tharen with his dragon fire. Afterward our group had access to a locked door that opened thanks to Lizbeth's ID. As we went through it an angry voice was shouting at something. Turned out it was a Krogan trying to get information from a hologram projection. The Krogan then turned behind him and he was quickly gunned down.

The projection greeted us and Shepard asked it what information the Krogan was trying to get.

"The previous user was attempting to access details on the study of Subject Species 37 the Thorian"

Apparently, whatever this Thorian was, it was within the Zhu's Hope structure. It was a plant life form that exhibited uncommon behavior amongst other plant life. Through inhalation of its spores, the Thorian could infect and control organisms including humans.

"Oh, you got to be kidding me" I growled. "ExoGeni knew this would happen to the colonists, no wonder that idiot I knocked out was acting out he was being controlled"

Shepard, Garrus, and Cypher all shared my distaste. The Commander tried to contact Joker but the energy field was blocking contact. After some walking around we found what appeared to be the claws that held the geth ship in place. We had to look around and eventually, Shepard found a machine that he activated, and the claws got destroyed and from the way the room shook the geth ship had fallen off from where it was a few minutes ago.

"I could've just burned the damn claws" Cypher complained from his spot on my shoulder.

"You really like killing geth don't you Cypher?" Garrus teased the Metal Dragon.

"Duh turian" Cypher replied in a smart-ass voice and I only rolled my eyes.

Joker finally got through to us thanks to the energy field being taken down. It was time to leave this damn place for good but first, we had to regroup with Lizbeth. She sure had some explaining to do since she and her colleagues knew about the Thorian controlling the colonists.

"I'm glad I'm not human no offense Commander"

Shepard chuckled and reassured me he wasn't insulted. Eventually, we caught up with Lizbeth who looked relieved to see us.

"We need answers since you knew more about the Thorian than you led on" Shepard stated.

Lizbeth explained she had been afraid and she had wanted to stop the testing but she had been threatened which made sense. She had stayed behind to try and get help but the power had been cut off before her message could be sent out.

The Thorian was located underneath Zhu's Hope and perhaps the geth and Saren wanted it due to its mind control abilities. Lizbeth decided to come with us and we made our way back toward the transport.

"Now that I think about you do resemble Laura Croft," Garrus said.

"And like I told the Commander I don't wear a braid nor do I have the attire she wears"

Cypher sighed before opening his wings and he took flight so Garrus and I could talk alone.

"Seeing you dressed like Croft would be a welcome sight" Garrus teased.

I shot my boyfriend a glare and he chuckled. I then had a good comeback comment.

"Maybe I could come up with something relating to her outfit"

My remark got Garrus to stop and I could tell he was probably blushing in his own way. I gave him a quick kiss on the mouth.

"You're a damn tease, Leena Burke"

"As are you Vakarian" I replied and the two of us went to catch up with Shepard, Lizbeth, and Cypher.
