So Rue will be Saren's new love interest so Saren isn't dying folks. Also the original name Rue belongs to Suzanne Collins.

Leena's POV

"Uh Commander we got company" Joker told Shepard.

The Normandy was nearing Ilos and from the sonar Joker said there were several geth ships. Knowing Saren was on Ilos I pulled Garrus aside.

"I want to save Saren" I told my boyfriend.

"Leena it's too late for him" Garrus began but I shook my head.

"No it's not when I was with him on Virmire he could have killed me but he didn't, I think I know how to free him from Sovereign"

I then pulled out a syringe with a golden liquid inside.

"Hey I recognize that isn't that Healing Sage?" Cypher asked from his spot on my shoulder.

"It is I bought this before we mutinied"

Prior to Mutiny

Still Leena's POV

I had just left my apartment and decided to go by one of my favorite floral shops. The apartment needed some more color and perhaps there was some kind of flower or plant that would catch my eye.

"Hello Leena it's been a while" one of the employees greeted me.

Her name was Rue Lucas and she was a shifter like me. Only she was a wolf instead of a black panther. Rue was forty-six but she looked damned good for her age. Her hair was dark green and her eyes were blue as the ocean. She was a talented florist and knew her stuff about plants.

"I've been busy" I joked. "Figured I would look around before leaving the Citadel"

Rue chuckled before going to help a customer. As I looked around some floral arrangements caught my attention but it was the Healing Sage that made me stop. Healing Sage was a plant that smelled good and when it reached maturity the plant parts could be crushed into powders, oils, etc. The smell of the sage made the owner relax and it was true because I used to have a Healing Sage plant in my apartment but it got sick and died.

A vial of golden liquid was displayed next to it's plant counterpart. I picked it up and approached Rue who had just finished helping her customer.

"That's the last vial, Healing Sage is popular right now" she explained. "You know according to legend the Healing Sage was created to heal a certain ailment"

"Really what ailment would that be?"

The wolf shifter shook her head.

"I don't know but maybe one day it will be found out"

She then checked me out and I paid for the vial of the sage before we bid each other goodbye and I left to head back to the Normandy.

Present

Leena's POV

"I think the ailment Rue was talking about was indoctrination, I know in my gut it is, Garrus, if I'm right Saren can be saved"

The turian sighed.

"As much as I don't like the idea you my support"

He then pressed a kiss against my forehead.

Cypher wolf whistled and I rolled my eyes as Shepard told me and Garrus to head to the Mako. I was in my black armor and my new guns were ready to be used. A short time later Commander Shepard met us at the Mako and we got in.

The Normandy flew into Ilos and it wasn't long until the Mako was descending. Ahead we saw Saren and the rogue turian was shutting a door. By the time the Mako landed and got near the door it was completely shut.

"Damn it" I growled as we got out of the rover. "We need to get into this bunker before Saren finds the Conduit"

"He found a way to open it, the security override has to be around somewhere in this complex" Garrus explained.

"I'll go on ahead and look for it my illusions are up"

Cypher took flight from my shoulder and we began to follow after the Metal Dragon. As usual we dealt with geth while searching for the override. Cypher didn't burn any geth he crossed paths with since he was focused on finding our target. Ilos was full of unique plant life but the surroundings around us were depressing. It was a good place to hide the Conduit in my opinion.

We found an elevator and Cypher joined us as it took us to the lower levels of the ruins. When the doors opened he was back in the air to resume his search for the override. We met with more geth and this time Cypher happily burn the hell out of them.

"Hey I think I found something!" I announced to the Commander, Cypher, and Garrus.

I had found what looked like to be a panel of sorts but I couldn't understand the language. I moved aside so Shepard could look at it. A projection then came to life and it spoke a foreign language.

"I think the language is Prothean" Garrus said.

"Holy shit then that message is 50,000 years old!" Cypher exclaimed.

"I can understand some of the words" Shepard informed us. "It's a warning against the Reaper invasion"

"The Cipher no doubt is helping you" I added.

The Commander nodded before looking at the projection once more. The human couldn't get anymore information so we had to leave.

We took the elevator back up to the Upper Ruins and to our surprise when we got back to the Mako the bunker doors opened. We got back into the rover and Shepard drove the vehicle onwards.
