R & R longer note at the end

Yumi waited in a clearing as the sounds of wings came closer, she turned to see the swarm of bats carrying the injured girl toward her as they lowered her to the ground vanishing in a puff of black smoke, the girl approached her as she examined Homura carefully checking for any major wounds. She slowly reached down as she placed her palms to the tanned girl's side gently allowing her power to cool the wound at her side, the mixed feelings she once held had now began to subside no matter her past no one deserved to end up like this.

Homura's eyes slowly flickered open as she began to come around, she looked up seeing the grey haired girl staring at her, with a look of agitation she pushed Yumi away as she sat up holding her side gently Yumi stayed still waiting for Homura to speak.

"Why are you here?" Homura snapped her voice full of anger despite the girl's intentions to help, forcing herself to her feet the tanned girl made to walk away "I already told you, I don't want anything to do with any of you".

"We followed you" Yumi responded truthfully as she stood staring at the back of the black haired girl's head "I saw you sneak out and made the choice to follow you with the rest of the team, we watched your fight and saw you were at the risk of dying. We decided to help". The girl backed up as Homura turned on her heel stomping over to her gripping the front of her clothing as she glared into her eyes, the feeling of anger dulling the pain in her side as Yumi looked on determined to not look away.

"You heard everything correct? Heard of my past? How I was a member of Hebijo? How I turned renegade?" Homura asked her voice ringing with anger as the girl nodded fixing her clothing as the tanned girl let her go "I killed people, I was trained to kill, eventually I'd have been sent to kill you and the rest of those weaklings you call a team, so why bother saving me? Are you that thick? The reason I left is because I don't need a team anymore, I didn't ask you to help me, I don't want your help. Don't you get it yet? I could have defended myself against them but I didn't. Want to know why? I was accepting my fate, I wanted to die". A loud sound echoed through the clearing as Yumi slapped the girl across the face, Homura raised a hand to her cheek feeling surprised as she looked back at the grey haired girl looking like she was fighting back tears.

"Don't you get it!" Yumi yelled her usual calm demeanour replaced with one of anger as her voice shook trying to keep calm despite the rage that was building inside her ready to spill over "I heard everything, I heard about you being the elite class leader of Hebijo, I heard of the fate of two of your members, I saw the tears in your eyes when you heard what happened. I saw the determination you showed to fight four people on your own, I saw and heard everything! Still I, no we as a team decided that we would save you, do you think I would be happy to learn one of my team had died? I would hate that I didn't do anything to help, you may not want anything to do with us but we want to be there for you despite everything we still believe you to be part of our team". Homura stayed silent not sure what to say as her cheek stung, despite it all these people believed in her? When she had joined Hebijo she planned to never make friends, never to let anyone in but that changed with the formation of her elite team she had met people just like her, bonded with them in a way she never expected.

When she had chosen to do the right thing she knew something was off, evil shinobi were trained to not care about the anything to accept all fate no matter the cost yet for that one brief moment she had done something good. She had known even before she was labelled renegade she would not be the same person upon returning to Hebijo, her eyes fell on Yumi once more despite the past this girl and her team were willing to accept her.

Slowly Homura turned as she walked towards a nearby rock slowly sitting down, her thoughts were a jumbled mess Haruka and Yomi now hated her, blamed her for the fate of Mirai and Hikage she too blamed herself had she just turned away from the sight that night and headed back to school they would still be alive, she would still be the leader of the elites but would she have been able to live with that decision?

"Your name was Yumi right?" Homura asked as she looked to the girl with her who slowly nodded her anger beginning to subside "It seems weird to say but I have to say it, that slap of yours seemed to hurt more than the attacks from those lot".

Little bit of a shorter chapter than usual but I feel like this needed to be short after the previous chapters action this one is a little more conversation heavy due to the nature of the chapter. I know Yumi is usually calm and collected but hey when someone who despite it all is part of your team who wouldn't get angry and slap them when they say they wanted to die?

Next chapter should be a little longer it won't feature much fighting but I can assure you the later chapters will certainly make up for that
