This chapter revolves pretty much around Rue and Saren.

Leena's POV

"You know you should be resting Garrus" I reprimanded my fiancé.

But even after getting a rocket to the face, my mate was in the Main Battery calibrating his heart out. I would never understand why he liked calibrating so damn much.

"I'm almost done" the male turian promised.

I watched him finish his work and once he did he turned to me.

"Alright I'm done and at your command my Leena"

I rolled my eyes and approached my significant other.

"I worried about you a lot when you were gone" I confessed placing a hand into his. "But that's just who I am"

"I made sure to stay alive for you Leena" Garrus reassured me. "I missed you with every passing day and I have no desire to be apart from you again, unless if it's a mission"

"Technically you were on a mission on Omega, handsome" I teased Garrus. "But I missed you too"

Garrus chuckled before pressing a kiss against my forehead.

"Let's go tell Shepard about our engagement"

"Joker's gonna call it or say about damn time"

"I wonder if anyone betted when we would be engaged" Garrus added.

I shrugged and before he decided to do some more calibrations I dragged my Archangel out of the Main Battery.

Saren's POV

After a long day of work, I needed to unwind and hence I was at the same bar I occasionally frequented. I had exchanged emails with Leena and she was doing well. I wasn't surprised to learn she was now engaged to Garrus and in all honesty, it was about damn time.

"I wondered if that was you Saren"

I turned to see Rue taking a seat next to me.

"Hello again Rue, you look nice"

The she-wolf had her hair hanging loose while wearing a silver dress. I did my best not to stare at this beautiful creature next to me. She was my age but didn't look like it. My compliment got her to blush and after she ordered a drink we began to talk.

I always found shifter backgrounds fascinating and hers was no exception. She was from Earth and after finishing college she left her home planet to pursue her career as a florist on the Citadel.

"I forgot to thank you," I said suddenly.

Rue arched an eyebrow wondering what I was talking about.

"The Healing Sage if your shop didn't have it, I wouldn't be alive"

"I can't imagine what it's like to have your mind being controlled" she spoke.

"It wasn't ideal, when Leena was trying to inject me with the sage, Sovereign tried to take over and have me kill her"

"Well, I'm glad she saved you" the she-wolf admitted. I looked at her. She blushed a bit more before looking at me. "I won't deny it Saren for a turian your age, you're very handsome"

Now I hadn't expected to hear those words from her. I decided to make a bold move and I placed a hand onto her leg. I was careful not to scratch her flesh with my talons.

"Would it surprise you if I found you breathtaking?"

Seeing I wasn't kidding around her face now was quite flushed.

A Few Minutes Later.

Still Saren's POV

Seeing where things would go I invited Rue to my apartment and she accepted the invitation.

"Damn this place is nice" the she-wolf complimented eying the apartment. "It's bigger than mine"

"At least it's not a jail cell" I replied.

I offered her a drink but she declined and wanting a clear head I chose not to have another either. I joined Rue on the couch but kept some distance so she wouldn't be uncomfortable.

"Look I'll be straightforward forward Saren I haven't dated in a long time" she confessed. "But there's something in you I can't explain"

"I feel the same towards you" I explained. "I'm not familiar with shifter customs but I'm willing to give it a try"

She made the first move and it wasn't long until she was in my lap. I let her touch me wherever she wished and I found myself enjoying it. Then I felt her lips touch my left cheek and I opened my eyes when she did that.

"Would it be alright if I kissed you?"

"I would very much like that"

Her lips then met with my mouth plates and I felt myself becoming lost under her spell. I wrapped my arms around her waist and I followed her lip movements to the best of my ability. Then her lips moved to the sensitive area close to my neck and I sighed when she showered that area with kisses, her tongue, and her teeth.

"You liked that," the she-wolf said after finishing.

"You have no idea" I agreed.

I wanted nothing more than to have this beautiful female in my bed and make love to her but it wasn't the right time. I would not rush this relationship.

"Do you think you can handle being in a relationship with me? I tend to have a temper every now and then"

The she-wolf gave me another peck against my mouth plates.

"I want this Saren, and believe it or not, your temper doesn't scare me"

Now that made me chuckle.

"Trying to tempt fate Little Wolf?"

"Oh please my wolf form is bigger than the average wild wolf on Earth"

"I believe that and your true form is no doubt beautiful, you are beautiful"

I touched her face and she touched my hand. I then kissed her forehead before helping her up. It was getting late and I needed to get her home. Outside her apartment, she gave me another kiss on the cheek before she entered her apartment and shut the door behind her.

I smiled to myself and left the complex in good spirits.
