"She's taking a while, isn't she?" Amy muttered, scrolling through her phone while Vicky kept searching through the racks, still looking for clothes.
"She's probably admiring herself in the mirror." Vicky shrugged, grabbing a white blouse that had transparent sleeves. "Ooo, this would be cute on her."
The PRT issued clothing Weiss wore were extremely baggy, as was the hospital gown she wore when Amy first healed her, and since she was too busy saving her life and being distracted by all her microbes, Amy didn't exactly get a good scan of her body, aside from the fact that she had only a little fat in her. She was too short to look good in that dress anyways, not even five feet if Amy had to guess. Maybe she should buy a similar one for Vicky's next birthday? Nah, if she did that her sister would just wear it on a date with Dean, and who knew how the rich boy would react, or what they would both do in that dress.
The door to the dressing room opened and closed. Amy didn't bother looking up, her eyes scanning random PHO posts. She'd rather be at the hospital than here, but then that meant leaving Vicky alone with the new girl, who just so happened to be everything she wasn't. She didn't care if Weiss was a Ward, Shadow Stalker was an example that even sociopaths can get away with anything.
"Damn girl, that looks so good on you, you're basically a model!" Vicky exclaimed. Amy could practically hear Vicky's skin stretch as she grinned. Huffing, Amy finally decided to look up, only for her face to heat up.
The tight dress perfectly clung to Weiss' form, with her long legs and a pair of matching white heels making her seem taller than she actually was. And no, the short girl was definitely not flat, not in the slightest. Amy tore her eyes away from the pale beauty.
Ok, this was weird. Were all the people where she came from this good looking? Or was this just a side effect of whatever powers she had? Alabaster always regenerated from everything, could her own powers be something similar to that?
That ugly scar that went over one of her eyes clearly said no. Some people were just born lucky, winning the lottery that was called genetics. Vicky was definitely one of those winners, unlike Amy.
"Thank you." Weiss smiled politely. She gave a twirl and looked at a nearby mirror, wiping the corner of one of her eyes when she thought no one was looking, not that Amy was trying to look at her. She turned to one of the workers. "I'll wear this on my way out, so add it to the tab."
Maybe it was a good thing Vicky didn't try putting it on, Amy was sure she wouldn't make it back home alive.
The sound of Weiss' heels clacking against the ground was a familiar one, one that she had desperately missed. As comfortable as those ugly sneakers pretended to be, Weiss was always at her best when she wore her heels and combat skirts. Ignoring the lecherous stares of a few strangers, Weiss stopped at the entrance of the PRT building and turned back towards her guides.
Victoria and Amy were both holding large bags full of clothing, despite Weiss' insistence that she could carry them herself.
"Thank you so much for showing me around today." Weiss formed her heiress smile. The two had wasted hours of their precious time to come and show her parts of the city, and buy some clothes along with other essentials. Now she wouldn't look like she escaped from some prison.
"Don't sweat it." Victoria winked. Amy seemed bored, her red face probably coming from the heavy bags that she helped carry. "It's not everyday I get a new shopping buddy that's not afraid of trying on new clothes."
"If you ever need my help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask me." Weiss bowed her head politely since her arms were busy. She detested being in debt to others, a habit that Father had instilled in her from youth.
Victoria waved her off. "Are you sure you don't want to go eat? There's a good Korean restaurant not far from here."
"Another day perhaps, I have a lot to unpack." Weiss lifted an arm for emphasis. Learning about new cultures sounded fun, but she also had to finish choosing her costume. She wanted to get that over with as soon as possible.
"I have your number either way." Victoria's smile never left. She nudged Amy who nodded absentmindedly. "Let's head on up then, Miss Piggy is used to us visiting."
Great…
It took over an hour, but Weiss finally managed to make her new room somewhat liveable. After the Dallon sister's dropped off her belongings, they made themselves at home in the Wards living area, which was perfectly fine with the former huntress-in-training. The peace and quiet was welcome, Victoria had turned out to be a chatterbox that didn't have an off button. Sadly, a soft knock at the door ended such tranquility.
"Who is it?" Weiss said loud enough to be heard, but low enough to not be shouting. She had changed from the red dress into a longer, more modest grey one.
"It's me." Missy's voice was the response. Placing the red dress on a hanger and sliding it into her closet, Weiss turned her head.
"Come in."
The door creaked open, revealing the younger blonde. She closed the door behind her, no longer in her costume.
"Is everything ok?" Weiss sat on her bed, hands folded in her lap. She patted the spot next to her, an invitation that Missy took.
Missy shook her head. "I don't want to talk about it."
"I see." Weiss pulled out a notebook that she had bought while she was out along with a cheap pen. She wasn't the best artist, but a rough sketch was better than nothing. She sensed Missy looking over her shoulder.
"Is that your costume?" Missy asked, the tension in her voice disappearing. It was a strategy that was old as time itself, changing the conversation, but Weiss didn't mind. It wasn't her business if Missy didn't want to reveal what was going on.
"Hopefully it will be." Each stroke brought the silhouette to life, a line here, another there. An awkward, but comfortable silence filled Weiss' room as Missy watched her draw.
"You're pretty."
"Not as pretty as you are."
Ruby would have liked Missy.
A/N
A simple chapter, but those help flesh out the story and the relationships between the characters. Readers of Schnee: Hero or Huntress should know that Weiss doesn't make friends easily, it'll take a lot of work. Weiss may look and act perfect, but she has plenty of faults.
On another topic, its RWBY tradition to come up with team names, so what are some Wards/ New Wave/Protectorate team names with Weiss that sound fun?
