Leena's POV
"My love that armor has my mandibles on the floor damn!" Garrus purred from behind me.
I was currently in front of a mirror eying the black armor with red designs. My mate had the same type of armor on but it was a different color scheme. The turian had his arms wrapped around my waist and his head lay on my shoulder.
I had on a new armor upgrade created by Mordin that would supposedly protect us from the seeker swarms the Collectors used. The Normandy was getting ready to land on the colony that was about to get attacked and Shepard wanted Garrus, Cypher, and I to come with him.
"You would rather have me out of the armor" I teased my fiancé and I turned to him.
Garrus chuckled before he and I shared a quick kiss before leaving our room. Cypher and Shepard waited for us in the transport and a short air ride later we landed at the colony site.
"I got a bad feeling about this" Cypher muttered from his spot on my shoulder.
"Quoting Star Wars? I didn't know you were a fan Cy" Shepard joked with the Metal Dragon.
"Nah I just like the line but Leena has the hots for Vader"
"HEY!" I protested. "Anakin was sexy before he became Darth Vader and still is when he turns to the Dark Side! Sue me if I like bad guys with sex appeal!"
"My Nightshade we're going to have a talk later," Garrus said to me.
I rolled my eyes before we began to follow Shepard to start our mission. As we ventured towards the colony the insects the Collectors used hovered above us but they didn't take notice which was a relief. They couldn't see Cypher due to his illusion gift.
However, some Collectors did see us and like always gunfire was exchanged and Cypher was in the air deciding to dive bomb some Collectors and used his dragon fire to burn them alive. The Collectors we're ugly bastards hell I'd rather deal with geth than these creepy aliens.
The closer we got to the Collector ship our communication with the Normandy got cut off so for the time being, we were on our own.
"F**k me!" I exclaimed when I crossed paths with a damn creature resembling the Thorian Zombies on Feros. I let loose on the bastards with my guns and didn't stop shooting them until they were dead.
"Ugly bastards" I growled and gave a Husk a good kick before continuing on my way.
From the looks of things, the Collectors wanted to keep their human captives alive. If I were to guess probably for experiments. That alone was f**ked up. The further we got into the colony the eerier it became and as usual any Husks or Collectors that crossed our paths were either burned or gunned down. Well, occasionally the Commander used his biotic power to kill some.
"Yo, we got company!" Cypher shouted as a large Collector landed in a courtyard close to us.
The Collector spoke the human tongue and talked bullshit while we fired round after round on it. It eventually fell lifeless but several more took its place.
"Leena behind you!" Shepard shouted and I turned to see the same Collector coming my way. But before the bastard even got to me Cypher burned it like no tomorrow. The Metal Dragon then scouted the area from the air before returning to us.
"We're in the clear for now" the silver scaled dragon informed. "I hate these bastards"
Shepard called us over and the Commander stood before a door. After a short override, the door opened to reveal an underground bunker. Cautiously we went inside and when it was obvious we weren't alone Shepard called for whoever was hiding to come on out. The person hiding was one of the colonists and he was surprised to see us.
"You're human? What are you doing here? You'll lead them right here!"
It was obvious this guy was afraid and I didn't blame him. According to the colonist he was down in the bunker to check on the main grid when the comm signals went down. When the Collectors chose to attack he sealed himself within the bunker to stay out of sight.
"Damn it! It's the Alliance's fault! They stationed that Commander Alenko here and built those defense towers, it made us a target!"
"Holy shit Kaiden's here?!" I exclaimed.
Kaiden Alenko had been part of our team two years ago when we stopped Sovereign. The mechanic explained that Kaiden was stationed here to help the colonists get the defense towers up and running but some people had suspicions Kaiden was there to spy on the colony.
The defense towers were a gift from the Alliance and their sole purpose was to keep hostile ships away. But right now they were useless and most of the colony was gone. It looked like our next task was to get the defense towers back up and running. But doing so would require for the targeting system to be calibrated.
The mechanic said the main transmitter was on the other side of the colony and he wished us luck. He had no desire to go with us and I couldn't blame him for wanting to stay put.
"If something needs to be calibrated it's you who can do the job handsome," I told my fiancé as we waited for the mechanic to let us out of the bunker.
"I second that" Shepard agreed.
"Good to know I have a support system" Garrus replied as the doors to the bunker opened and we ventured back outside with our new target being the main transmitter.
