Leena's POV
The Normandy docked at the Citadel with no problems. Earlier Garrus had heard that the turian Sidonis was possibly at the Citadel so hence our purpose for being here. Ever since my beloved learned where the man responsible for his squad's demise was I noticed a change in my mate. And it bothered me to be honest.
Garrus wanted me to come with him alongside Shepard and Cypher so I complied. Our first stop was to head to C-Sec to get information about this person called Fade. A short air sky car ride later we arrived outside of C-Sec and on the way in a turian was raising hell about something. Captain Bailey didn't exactly know where Fade was located but he was kind enough to put us on the trail.
This trail led us to a warehouse in the marketplace. Supposedly Fade had contacts there and that was our next destination. Sometime later we came upon the warehouse in question and waiting there were two Krogan. They were obviously hired help because a Volus joined them.
"Fade? You're not quite how I imagined you"
"That isn't Fade" I corrected the Commander.
"Aw shit," the Volus growled. He sighed before telling the two Krogan it was okay for them to leave. Once they were gone the Volus looked at us again. "The shifter is right I'm not Fade, I only work for him"
Garrus approached the Volus and got down to his level.
"Then maybe you'd like to tell us where to find him"
"He's in the factory district, works out of the old prefab foundry"
"I know the place," my fiancé told us.
"He's got a lot of mercs over there though, Blue Suns, Harkin thinks they're protecting him"
I had no idea who this Harkin was but it was obvious he was Fade. Garrus seemed to know him too and according to the Volus, Harkin got fired from C-Sec. Once more we took the sky car to the spot where Harkin was located.
"This beats dealing with Collectors" Cypher joked from his spot on my shoulder.
The Metal Dragon was about to make another comment but I shut his mouth using my hand. Garrus didn't need any more wisecracks and seeing him this eager to kill someone made me worry about him. This wasn't the man I loved, it wasn't my Archangel. Shepard also was concerned for the turian as well.
We got out of the sky car and up ahead with some Blue Suns mercs was Harkin. Seeing he was in trouble Harkin barked orders before taking off.
"Run all you want Harkin we'll find you!" Garrus roared.
I had Cypher take flight and he easily brought down the Blue Suns who were about to shoot at us. We shot down some more mercs when the doors opened leading into the next room. Instead of burning the mercs here, Cypher distracted the idiots while I simply knocked the boneheads out cold.
It eventually quieted down and Garrus looked out the window that gave him a good view of the factory.
It was obvious Harkin was hiding and the bastard was waiting for us so we had to be ready for him. As we continued our hunt for Harkin we brought down more Blue Suns and eventually Harkin sprung his trap on us. Two large Mechs landed on the ground ahead of us.
However, the damn things didn't have a chance to work because Cypher burned the machines to the ground and Harkin swore. Cypher then took off after the human and it wasn't long until Harkin was yelping in pain. A few minutes later we found Harkin and Cypher had the human's wrist in his mouth.
"Get off of me you little metal bastard" Harkin snarled waving his arm trying to get Cypher off.
I grabbed Harkin and gave him a hard punch to the gut and Cy released his hold from the asshole and flew to my shoulder. Garrus then grabbed Harkin and slammed him into the wall hard.
"So Fade couldn't make yourself disappear huh?"
My fiancé then let go of Harkin.
"I'm looking for someone"
"Well I guess we both have something the other wants"
Garrus faced Harkin again and kicked him.
"You helped a friend of mine disappear I'm here to find him"
I watched as Garrus talked with Harkin and at hearing Sidonis's name Harkin refused to cooperate. I then watched as the man I loved pushed Harkin onto the floor and placed a foot on top of him.
"You know what else is bad for business? A broken neck!"
Harkin gave in and Garrus removed his foot. The human then stood back up and went to a machine and turned it on. A short conversation later Harkin returned to us saying Sidonis would meet us at the Orbital Lounge.
"So if our business is done I'll be going"
"Like hell, you are" I interrupted and grabbed the human by the collar of his shirt. "C-Sec wants your ass and I have a friend who is going to take you there"
No sooner had I spoken those words did Saren show up.
"Hey, Saren it's been a while" I greeted the older turian.
Saren nodded at me before I shoved Harkin over to him.
"Aw shit not him!" Harkin protested. "You're a bitch!"
Saren snarled and punched Harkin hard enough that the idiot went unconscious.
"Damn that looked like it hurt" Cypher muttered.
"He had no right calling her that" Saren replied before putting cuffs on Harkin's wrists. The older turian then turned to us. "I'll get him to C-Sec and later we need to have a drink to celebrate your engagement"
Saren had looked to me and Garrus when he spoke those words. Before leaving I patted Saren on the shoulder before we left. During the ride to the Orbital Lounge, it was quiet but when we arrived I couldn't hold back anymore.
"Garrus love I'm worried about you, this is not who you are"
"Leena I'm sorry but I have to make sure Sidonis pays, he screwed my team, he deserves to die"
I got out of the sky car in tears. Cypher rubbed his head against my cheek and licked my tears away. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned to see Shepard. His eyes were kind and he gestured back to the car. Garrus was out and about to get into position. Shepard drove the sky car to the lower level and once he parked it we got out.
There was a lot of foot traffic at the lounge and after looking around we spotted a turian eying the crowd.
"I can't let Garrus kill Sidonis," I told Shepard.
"Leena" the Commander began but I shook my head. He sighed and patted my shoulder again before nodding. Sidonis saw us and I waved him over. Sidonis stood up and walked in our direction until he stopped in front of me.
"Let's get this over with"
Garrus's POV
"Crap Shepard get Leena to move" I told my friend. There was no way I was going to let Sidonis get away but I also wouldn't shoot the woman I loved either.
Leena's POV
"Listen Sidonis I'm here to help you"
"Don't ever say that name aloud" Sidonis begged me while looking around.
"My name is Leena and I'm Garrus's fiancé" I continued. "He wants you dead but I'm hoping that's not necessary"
"Garrus? Is this some kind of joke?"
Garrus's POV
Damn it what was Leena doing?!
She was still in the way of my shot and I was getting frustrated.
Leena's POV
"Wait a minute your Nightshade aren't you? Screw this I'm not sticking around here to find out, tell Garrus I have my own problems"
The turian turned around but I grabbed him.
"Don't move" I warned him.
"Get off me!"
"I'm the only thing standing between you and a hole in the head" I explained to Sidonis.
"Aww, f**k" the turian growled. "Look I didn't want to do it, I didn't have a choice"
Garrus's POV
"Everyone has a choice" I corrected.
Leena's POV
"They got to me, said they'd kill me if I didn't help what was I supposed to do?"
I heard Garrus protesting through Shepard's commlink.
"So you were trying to save yourself is that right?"
"Yeah, I know what I did, they all died because of me and I have to live with that"
As Sidonis moved I followed him making sure I blocked Garrus from shooting. It was obvious Sidonis felt remorseful, hell killing this turian wasn't worth it. Shepard talked with Garrus while I kept conversing with Sidonis. I placed a comforting hand on his arm and the turian looked at me.
"I can tell your remorseful, I can see the good in you"
I then let go of his arm and Shepard told me something. I nodded and told Sidonis.
"Garrus is giving you a second chance so please make it count"
Sidonis turned to me.
"You're a kind woman, Garrus is lucky to have you, thank you for loving him and risking your safety for mine"
I nodded before Shepard and I turned around and walked away. A few minutes later we met back up with Garrus. I let him talk with the Commander for a few minutes and afterward Cypher flew to the human male. Once I was truly alone with Garrus did the turian draw me into him.
His body shook as he held me.
"Don't ever do that again Leena"
"I know what I did was stupid but your not a murderer Garrus, I love you too damn much to see you bring someone down who was full of remorse and guilt"
"I know, I was wrong and what's worse I made you cry, I'm sorry, spirits Leena I'm so sorry"
The only thing I could do for right now was caress his face and he placed his forehead against mine. When we met back up with Shepard he surprised us saying that we would have a few days of shore leave and Cypher chose to go back to the Normandy with the Commander.
Garrus and I didn't say much when we got back to the apartment. A shower sounded like a good idea so I took one. Afterward drying myself off and pulling on some comfortable clothes I put my engagement ring back on and left the bedroom. Garrus had changed into casual turian clothes and he had a bottle of wine out. He blushed before going over to the music panel and turned on some awful music. I shook my head and walked over to the panel and shut the music off. Garrus put the wine bottle down and drew me into him.
"I've seen so many things go wrong Leena, my work at C-Sec, what happened with Sidonis, I just want something for once to go right, and today I screwed up big time, but know this I won't ever make you cry again for my actions, I love you more than I have loved anyone else my Nightshade"
Now the tears were coming down my face and Garrus kissed them away. His mouth plates met with mine to prove his words. I knew he was sorry for what happened today and I would forgive him for it because I loved him. Our kiss lasted another second before we pulled apart to catch our breath.
"I'm thinking we should get married as soon as possible" my beloved suggested.
"I don't want to elope" I growled.
"No my Nightshade of course not, what I meant to say was before we deal with the Collectors that's when I want to make you my wife, I want our friends there, later we can have a formal ceremony for our loved ones, I need you as my wife Leena and I'm not gonna wait for too much longer"
"I wasn't exactly keen on a long engagement either, but I'm not marrying you in some damn armor Garrus, I'm going to find a dress and it'll be one that's going to make your mandibles drop to the floor"
"Now that I'm looking forward to" my mate purred. "And what happens on our wedding night"
I smacked my Archangel on the chest and Garrus chuckled.
