Leena's POV
"Hot damn that is a nice dress," Jack said eying the photo of my wedding dress I sent her on a datapad to look at. "Shit you picked good Leena"
I smirked as Shepard came our way. Jack immediately closed the tab containing the wedding dress picture before greeting the Commander.
"Tight little group you got here and a pretty nice ship, you'd be rich if you took to piracy, but you wouldn't, I can't figure you, Shepard"
"You seem to be getting along well with Leena and Cypher"
Cypher was actually lounging on Jack's shoulder.
"True but that's because I like them any way I wanted to talk with you guys about something"
"I'm all ears" I replied and Shepard said he was listening.
"I got thoughts like little bugs crawling in and out of my head, I can't stop them"
Jack then stood up before resuming talking.
"You know I have a history with Cerberus, you know how far back it goes?"
"If I were to guess since you were a child" I suggested.
"Ya pretty much, the Illusive Man? Never seen him before but Cerberus raised me, first thing I remember is my cell in a Cerberus base, they did experiments, drugged me, tortured me, whatever chance I had to be normal, they stole it by trying to turn me into some super-biotic"
"That's f**ked up" Cy and I said in unison.
Jack sent me and the Metal Dragon a grateful look before resuming her tale.
"The doctors, the other kids, every one of them hated me, they let me suffer"
As she spoke about the experiments at the hands of Cerberus it pissed me off. When I rejoined Shepard I was doing it to work with him again not for the Cerberus assholes. But the fact she escaped that hell hole proved she was not only a survivor but that of a determined human being who wanted to live.
Jack had found the place where she was kept prisoner and wanted to destroy it with a bomb.
"Oh please tell me we can go and do this Shepard" Cypher stated.
"I'm in as well" I chimed in. I shot Jack a look. "But only if you want me to join you"
"Hell yeah I want you to join me" Jack responded. "As I said before Leena I like you and Cypher, plus your probably the only beings on this ship besides Shepard that's treated me like a normal person"
Shepard sighed and he reluctantly agreed. I went back to my quarters and got into my armor before meeting with Jack and the Commander and we got onto the transport. Sometime later we were on our way towards the abandoned Cerberus facility and Jack was very uneasy. Cypher still lounged on Jack's shoulder and though she was tense Cypher's presence seemed to soothe her. The transport eventually landed and rain met us when the doors opened.
"Shit this place is ugly" I growled as I eyed the surroundings and got my guns out.
"Yeah, it is" Jack agreed. "We get in there, plant the bomb, and get the hell out so I can watch this place burn"
With caution, we made our way into the facility. As Jack said the prison was indeed abandoned but it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out for any enemies. When we ventured into certain rooms Jack explained about them and how they involved her.
"We got company" Cypher notified us before taking flight.
Our company ended up being some Varen and immediately the Metal Dragon began to burn the creatures with his dragon fire while the rest were brought down with gunfire. After the Varen were done being killed we came upon the ruins of what used to be an arena. Jack explained this was where she and the other kids would fight one another.
"This whole place is f**ked up" Cypher muttered returning to my shoulder. "Let's finish what we started, I hate this place as much as Jack"
Jack shot the Metal Dragon a smirk before we continued onwards. After some more looking around we found a console and when it was activated a projection of a security officer appeared talking about the chaos he had endured at the time and he was trying to get permission to kill the other prisoners except for Jack.
Cypher ended up burning the console and swished his tail in annoyance. When we went down a flight of stairs we found a dead Varen and from the looks of things it had been recent when it had been killed. A few minutes later we met up with some Blood Pack members and after a brief exchange of gunfire, the bastards were dead.
When we got closer to Jack's cell we ended up finding a Krogan along with his flunkies. Cypher took flight and began his torment of the Blood Pack Members while I aided Shepard and Jack with firing rounds. Cypher was about to burn the Krogan when the asshole ended up throwing the Metal Dragon into a wall.
I roared out a battle cry and I began to shoot the krogan like crazy. If there was one thing I despised it was someone hurting Cypher. I didn't stop firing rounds until I came upon the krogan and killed him with a shot to the head. I then rushed to Cypher and I picked him up into my arms.
"I'm okay just have one hell of a headache and my back is sore" the Metal Dragon promised me.
Jack said her cell was around the corner. We went through a few more doors before arriving at Jack's cell and someone was hiding there. After Shepard demanded whoever was hiding to come out a man made himself known.
"Who are you?" Jack demanded and her weapon was pointed at him.
"My name is Aresh and your breaking into my home, I know you Subject Zero, so many years have passed and I thought I was the only survivor"
"My name is Jack, how the hell do you know me?"
"We all knew your face Jack, they inflicted horrors on us so their experiments wouldn't kill you, you were the question and I'm still looking for the answer"
Shepard inquired why Aresh was here and he said he hired the mercs so they could rebuild this place. At hearing that Jack got angry and she used her biotic power to send Aresh onto his knees and she had her gun pointed at him again. Shepard managed to convince Jack to let Aresh go and she swore before telling the crazy bastard to leave and he did.
Since this was her cell I decided to wait outside so Jack could be given her privacy. Shepard helped Jack set the bomb and I was glad to get the hell out of that hellhole. As the transport took us back towards the Normandy, Jack messed with the detonator top, opening it up and closing it. She then looked up at Shepard and the Commander banged on the wall signaling the driver to hurry up.
When we were at a safe distance Jack activated the bomb and the prison went up in flames. We all ended up falling from our seats from the impact of the explosion.
Back on the Normandy
Still Leena's POV
"Yo Leena"
I was about to go see what Garrus was up to when Jack stopped me. Cypher was dealing with his headache and sore back in my room.
"Thanks again for coming with me to that godforsaken place, I know I'm still getting used to being around others but I thought I would let you know I consider you and Cypher friends, is he okay but the way?"
"He'll be alright but I got pissed when he was thrown into the wall like that"
"Yeah that made me mad too, hope his back gets better"
She then turned and left to go back to her usual spot on the Normandy that made her comfortable. I ended up finding Garrus in the Main Battery.
"Hey sexy" I greeted my fiance as I came up beside him.
"I was wondering when you would return" Garrus responded turning to me.
"Nothing can keep me from you for long Archangel"
When I said his codename the turian purred before suddenly picking me up and he placed me on the console and he positioned himself between my legs which were around his waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him close so my lips could touch his mouth plates. His tongue began to dance with mine and it was a welcome sight after a tough mission.
Thankfully all we did was kiss and nothing else.
"By the way have you told your family about our engagement?" I asked my mate.
"Actually I have, my sister was pleased and Dad's specific words were about damn time"
"I sent a message to mine but have yet to hear from them, but they'll probably have the same reaction as your Dad"
"Dad is just pleased I found myself a woman"
"I am your woman, your mate, your Nightshade"
"Indeed you are" he agreed before giving me another kiss.
