Leena's POV

Before heading to Illium the Commander managed to locate Tali and she was back with us. She got excited at hearing Garrus and I were engaged. Now our next task was to recruit an assassin named Thane Krios and someone called Samara.

I didn't go with Shepard to recruit Tali so I was going to be accompanying him along with Garrus and Cypher. The Normandy docked and an Asari greeted us when we left the ship. She explained our docking and administration fees were waived. When it was mentioned Liara was the one who decided that Cypher let out an excited yelp.

"Looks like you get to see your girlfriend Cy" I teased the Metal Dragon.

"No shit so hurry the hell up"

We all chuckled at his demands and went on our way. After some walking around we arrived outside of Liara's office and her assistant Nyxeris greeted us. She was a pleasant enough Asari and after some small talk, we entered Liara's office.

Liara was finishing up a projection call as we approached her.

"Shepard!" the Asari exclaimed happy to see the Commander. Our friend asked for Nyxeris to hold her calls. The Commander and Liara shared a hug before pulling apart. She then said hello to Garrus and I before Cypher flew off my shoulder and threw himself into his girlfriend's arms.

The Metal Dragon gave Liara multiple licks with his tongue which was followed by affectionate head rubbing. Liara chuckled and not only gave Cypher multiple kisses but she also scratched behind his side fins.

"My sources said you were alive but I never believed, it's good to see you," Liara told the Commander as she went to her desk and sat down.

We all spent a few minutes catching up with Liara. Cypher was now lounging on the Asari's shoulders and was completely relaxed. The archaeologist was doing well for herself as an information broker.

"I heard you and Garrus are engaged Leena," the Asari said with a smile.

"That we are" I confirmed and Garrus chuckled before kissing me on the cheek.

"I understand you can't join the crew like old times but we could use your help right now, I'm looking for some people Thane Krios and an Asari named Samara, can you tell us about them?"

Liara didn't know much about this Thane guy but she was familiar with Samara. After getting some more information the Commander decided we would find Thane first.

"Hey Liara since Cypher hasn't seen you in a while can he hang out with you while we go find these people?"

Cypher made another excited sound.

"I don't mind I've missed him" Liara answered and she gave Cy another kiss on the top of his head.

I smirked and told Cy to have fun before we left Liara's office. Our next stop was an office belonging to an Asari named Seryna. When Shepard asked about Thane Krios, Seryna asked her co-worker to cover for her before her attention was focused on us. According to her, she knew who Thane was but she informed us she didn't hire him, she did know however where he was headed. He was after another Asari named Nassana Dantius and the way Seryna described her she sounded like a cold-hearted bitch who killed people for her own reasons.

Since Thane was going after Nassana his target was the Dantius Towers. According to Seryna, the towers were full of mercs and those under Nassana's employment. The Asari said she could get us in but it would be the only way and the rest would be up to us.

Sometime later all of us rode a sky car towards the Dantius Towers. Seryna stopped the sky car at the bottom of the second tower and we all got out. She wished us luck before taking off. No sooner had she left we saw Eclipse mercs shooting down innocent salarians. They eventually saw us and we got out our weapons and it was party time.

I shot down a mech while killing an Eclipse merc. Shepard dealt with the other mech and Garrus killed the Eclipse merc. We scouted the area and in front of an elevator, we found a wounded salarian. Shepard gave the poor guy some needed medical treatment and the salarian thanked him before he stood up.

Garrus went to a panel and pressed a few things before the doors opened. We cleared a hallway to deal with some more mercs. We continuously gunned down anyone who crossed paths with us as we went from room to room. Upon opening a door we found several more salarians and the poor guys had been locked in there for their own protection. The salarians didn't see who locked them in but they did mention the assassin wasn't a salarian. They thanked us again before Shepard told us to move out.

We found the Cargo Elevator and after Shepard activated the panel did we all take cover. No sooner did it open more gunfire was exchanged. Shepard used some of his biotics to deal with our enemies and once the coast was clear we entered the elevator. A short ride later we found a merc who was completely oblivious to our presence.

The merc was uncooperative when Shepard asked about Thane. But after some persuasion, he told us what we needed to hear before leaving. In the next room, Nassana was bitching to her employees and like always gunfire ensued.

When we cleared the room Shepard unlocked another door and a frightened salarian pointed a gun at us. After some reassurance, the frightened salarian apologized before collapsing onto the ground and his worried brother rushed over. There was a dead merc behind us and it looked like our mysterious Thane was responsible.

Shepard advised the two brothers and their friend to get to safety. They thanked us before hurrying off.

"I think I like this Thane guy," I told the men.

Garrus shot me a WTF look. The bridge was our next obstacle and as Seryna warned we dealt with a lot of mercs as we made our way across. While shooting down our enemies Nassana would occasionally screech over the intercoms. She was really starting to annoy the living hell out of me. If Thane wasn't after her I wouldn't mind killing the bitch myself. Garrus had the pleasure of bringing down the last merc before we found the door that led into the first tower.

Inside the penthouse, Nassana was pacing back and forth with her armed bodyguards pointing their weapons at us. Garrus and I were in battle stances while the Commander eyed Nassana.

"Before you kill me just tell me who hired you?" Nassana said.

"Who do you think it was? Because it wasn't me" Shepard answered.

"Screw you" the Asari spat. "Kill me then I'm not playing your stupid games, you made it this far so now what?"

"Can I have the pleasure of killing her Shepard? Because she's pissing me off"

"Psh try if you want little shifter" Nassana mocked me.

"Up yours bitch" I snapped before I shot her the bird.

It was then I heard something in the ceiling and Sheapard did too. The bodyguards had heard it as well and had their weapons pointed at the ceiling. Being the paranoid Asari she was Nassana told one of her guards to look around. While she was distracted something jumped down from a hidden rafter and a Drell snuck up behind one of the other bodyguards.

The Drell killed him by snapping his neck and he punched the other guard into unconsciousness. The last guard was shot and then the Drell placed a gun into Nassana's stomach and fired. When he shot her the Drell brought Nassana into him like he was going to embrace her and then he lay her body against the console.

He placed her hands onto her chest and he then put his hands together as though in prayer and lowered his head.

"Well damn"

"Impressive, you certainly know how to make an entrance" Garrus complimented the assassin. This was the guy we had been looking for, Thane Krios. And I had to admit he was attractive for a Drell. Shepard approached Thane and began.

"I was hoping to talk to you"

"I apologize but prayers for the wicked must not be forsaken" Thane responded. His voice was deep which didn't surprise me.

"Do you really think she deserves it?" Shepard wondered nodding at Nassana.

"Not for her, for me, the measure of an individual can be difficult to discern by actions alone, take you, all this destruction, chaos, I was curious to see how far you'd to find me, well here I am"

So all along he was waiting for us, damn he was good. Shepard got to the point and told Thane he wanted him to join us. Thane seemed interested and the Commander explained about the Collectors and what they were doing with the humans they kidnapped. Thane didn't seem bothered our mission might kill people and he revealed he was dying. Now that mentioned that I could scent the faint odor of death near him. He had a terminal illness if I were to guess. The Drell then shook hands with the Commander and said he would join us.

Back on the Normandy

Back on the ship, I talked with Thane for a few minutes so I could get a better feel about him. He was polite and I looked forward to working with him. I eventually left him to get some rest and Garrus waited for me.

I then pulled Garrus towards me and claimed his mouth plates with my lips. The last thing I needed was for my fiance to get jealous when he didn't need to be. Garrus spiced things up when he lifted me up and my legs went around his waist as my back met against the wall and our tongues danced for dominance.

"Spirits Leena" Garrus moaned after we pulled apart from our kiss to breathe.

I put my arms around his neck and gave the turian another peck on the mouth plates.

"There's only one man who can take my breathe away and he's currently holding me"

Garrus chuckled before placing his mouth against the side of my neck and he licked it with his tongue. The turian then put me back onto my feet.

"We should go find Shepard we have one more person to recruit" he suggested.

"Fair enough babe"
