Leena's POV
"So you're joining us to get the IFF eh?" I asked Saren.
The older turian was dressed for said mission hence why I asked.
"Yes," Saren confirmed. "Shepard thought since I'm familiar with Reapers and being controlled by one might be beneficial"
I was going on this mission as well along with Garrus and Cypher.
"It does make sense" Garrus agreed.
Suddenly the Normandy started to shake. The Derelict Reaper was hovering above a planet so the winds were making things a little troublesome. The ship then stopped shaking and Cypher muttered a sigh of relief.
The two turian's and I met up with the Commander and a short time later we were on board the damn Reaper. Upon entry, the smell of blood got our attention and some of it was on a wall along with a dead body. When the room was cleared Saren went to examine the blood splatter on the wall and the body.
"How old long do you think that person has been dead?" Shepard asked his fellow Spectre.
"I don't know but if I were guess perhaps a day or more" Saren responded.
"Let's just find this damn IFF and leave I don't like this place" I growled.
Cypher mumbled in agreement before we left the room and entered another one. We found a console and Shepard used his omni-tool and a short message was played. It didn't give much information so we continued on our way.
We found another console and Saren used his omni-tool to get the thing to play. It was just another log about life on the Reaper that had been ongoing at the time and the doctor was starting to act weird.
"It sounds like these people were suffering from indoctrination," Saren told us. "I won't know for sure unless we find some more work logs"
Again we left the area but before we could enter the next one the room shook just as the doors opened.
"Normandy to shore party!" Joker shouted through the commlink.
"What just happened?" Shepard asked the pilot.
"The Reaper put up kinetic barriers I don't think we can get through from our side"
"F**king machine" Cypher spat while swishing his tail in agitation.
"Shepard I've been indoctrinated by a Reaper and have no desire to remain stuck inside another either" Saren added.
I growled in agreement while Garrus shook his head.
"Let's take down the barrier generators from inside here" Shepard suggested.
He then asked EDI where the barriers were and the AI responded saying at the moment of activation there had been a heat spike in the mass effect core and also the core was maintaining the Reaper's altitude. Basically what she was saying was that once the barriers fell we would need to get the hell out of here before we all met our certain deaths when the wreck fall into the planet's core.
The next room was damn eerie and more bodies lay on the ground with blood surrounding them. Another work log was waiting for us and after it was activated we watched as two men were making casual conversation that turned strange because they were remembering the same thing.
"The Reaper was messing with their minds" my husband stated.
Saren nodded in agreement before we continued on our way.
"Oi, we got Husks!" I yelled as the ugly ass zombies made themselves known. As we shot down the group of zombies Cypher took flight and let out a yell of glee before burning the zombies all to hell.
"Did Cypher do that to the geth under my control?" Saren asked looking at me after we finished killing the zombies.
"Yep and he liked burning them" I responded.
Saren looked back to the Metal Dragon as he scouted the area from the air.
"His gift of illusions is impressive I couldn't even see him on Virmire when he sprung you free from the base"
"My illusions only last for a certain period of time" Cy shouted to Saren. "And after using them I become exhausted"
The Metal Dragon then spat his dragon fire at an explosive container and it killed the Husks surrounding it.
"Good work buddy that saved us some ammunition!" I yelled back to my pal as we came upon another video log.
The two guys from before were experiencing headaches and one of them suffered from hallucinations. During our walkthrough, we saw some gunfire and whoever was shooting seemed to be damn good.
"I'm getting sick of these f**king walkers!" Cy roared from above as he used more dragon fire to kill some Husks and our group brought down another group of them. Saren used some of his biotics to make the killing of the zombies easier.
Cypher then noticed a Collector Scion and he let loose with his flames on the ugly ass alien. We watched another video log but the man on it didn't give us anything useful but he looked like hell and sounded tired.
"Spirits" Saren muttered when we saw several humans impaled on spikes ahead of us. "I remember this, back on Eden Prime and I was the one who ordered the geth to do so"
"You were under Sovereign's power back then," Shepard told his fellow Spectre.
"True but now that I have my own mind again seeing this"
The older turian was remorseful and he shook his head. Cypher chose that moment to land on Saren's shoulder and he gave the turian an affectionate head rub. Saren appreciated the Metal Dragon's comfort and gave him a scratch behind his side fins.
"These people were definitely being indoctrinated" I added eying the dead souls around us.
We had to do some walking around to find the next passage and Shepard had to override the lock so we could have access to the next area. When we entered our current surroundings I felt like I was being watched. When it was clear the Commander gave us the signal to move around and no sooner had we did that did some Husks appear behind us.
However, shots rang out and the Husks were brought down.
"Holy hell," Cypher and I said in unison when we saw it had been a geth who just saved our asses. Saren, Garrus, and the Commander were staring at the geth as well.
"Shepard Commander"
My jaw dropped as did Cy's when we heard the geth speak!
The geth gave us one last glance before leaving.
"Uh, are geth supposed to talk?" Garrus questioned Saren.
"Absolutely not my mind is just as blown as yours" was Saren's response.
