Leena's POV

I was getting fed up with these goddamn zombies as we made our way deeper into the Reaper. Our group, did not get a break killing the Husks. Cypher helped us by continuing his burning and he killed another Collector Scion.

"Did the Thorian have these things as well on Feros?" Saren asked when we finished killing another group of Husks.

"Yep and they were ugly bastards too" I growled.

I then saw another Scion and had the pleasure of bringing it down. We probably spent close to a half-hour before it seemed we finally finished the last of the Husks and Scions. Shepard unlocked another door and in the hallway, he successfully retrieved the IFF from a console. Now it was time to destroy the core and get the hell out of here.

The door to the next room opened and we found the same geth that saved our lives at a console doing something. Some Husks were sneaking up behind it and when it noticed the zombies it shot some down before turning its attention back to the console and it deactivated the barrier giving us access to enter the room. However, the geth was overpowered by a Husk and it fell to the floor.

Our group spread out and killed the Husks before the core shield opened. Cypher took flight and unleashed round after round of his dragon fire while Shepard and Garrus let loose with their weapons. After some gunfire was exchanged the core closed and another round of killing the Husks ensued.

Then I was suddenly lifted off of the ground and to my horror, it was a Husk!

The zombie threw me hard into some machinery and it hurt like hell. I looked around for my guns but they weren't with me and soon the Husk was on top of me. Using its strength it ripped off my right shoulder guard before sinking its sharp claws into my exposed flesh and I screamed.

Garrus's POV

It was my wife's screams that broke my focus. My eyes widened in horror as I saw a Husk was on top of her doing god knows what.

"LEENA!" I yelled and I began to make my way towards her and shot down numerous Husks along the way.

Leena's POV

I tried to fight off the Husk but it was too strong and I felt myself beginning to weaken. However, the next thing I knew the Husk was thrown off of me thanks to Saren and Garrus killed the zombie.

Garrus's POV

Leena's right shoulder was torn to shreds and she was bleeding profusely.

"Go help Shepard" Saren ordered getting some medi-gel out. "I'll take care of Leena"

I swore because he was right and I turned around to go aid the Commander in taking down the Husks and the Core.

Saren's POV

I placed the medi-gel onto Leena's bleeding shoulder and applied pressure. Cypher landed beside his companion and was whimpering. But the bleeding wasn't stopping and the black panther shifter was in trouble of bleeding out if she didn't get the right medical care.

I used my teeth to tear off some cloth and I quickly tied it around her wound before using one arm to hoist her over my shoulder. Cypher retrieved her weapons that had been discarded and the Core had been destroyed.

I told Garrus and Shepard I was heading back to the Normandy ahead of them and Cypher followed as I rushed through the hallways as the Reaper began to become unstable. Before I knew it I was back on the Normandy and I hurriedly got Leena to the medical ward.

Garrus's POV

I had helped Shepard bring the geth on board but no sooner was it dropped off I was pacing outside of the medical ward. Inside Mordin and Dr. Chawkwas were hard at work trying to save my wife. The other crew members were worried as were Saren, Cypher, and the Commander.

Then finally at long last did Mordin emerge and from the look on his face, it seemed things went well. Saren and Shepard also had their eyes on the Salarian while Cypher swished his tail impatiently. The Metal Dragon was still perched on Saren's shoulder.

"Leena is going to be alright," Mordin said and all of us breathed a sigh of relief. Mordin then turned to Saren. "The medi-gel and the makeshift bandage helped control the blood flow, if you hadn't gotten Leena back onto the Normandy so quickly her chances of bleeding out or dying from infection was high

So basically what Mordin was saying that Saren had saved Leena's life.

"How is she doing now?" Shepard asked.

"She's sleeping, she'll need to be on bed rest for a few days, shifters have fast healing rates but I should warn you her right shoulder might scar up"

The Salarian then looked at me and he nodded I could go inside the medical ward to see my wife. Leena was fast asleep and her entire torso was bandaged up. Her right shoulder was also completely wrapped up and my heart broke seeing her in this manner. I pulled up a chair next to Leena's bedside and before I sat down I kissed her on the forehead and then the tears hit me.

I never had been so scared in my life. And today I had been close to losing my Nightshade.

Leena's POV

"F**k me" I growled when I woke up.

I was back on the Normandy and in the medical ward. I hurt all over, especially on the right side of my body. But my attention went to my sleeping husband. Both of his hands were on my right and I saw he had been crying due to his face.

"My Archangel" I spoke hoping it would wake the sleeping turian up.

It took a few minutes before Garrus's eyes opened and soon they landed on me. Immediately Garrus stood up and he carefully placed his forehead against mine.

"My Leena," he said. Then tears went down his face. "Spirits I thought I was going to lose you"

"Now you understand how I felt when you got hurt back on Omega"

He only nodded before kissing my forehead and then he took my left hand and placed my engagement and wedding bands back on it. I looked to my right shoulder and saw it was completely bandaged up as was my entire torso.

"Looks like I'm out for a few missions" I joked.

"You got that right" Garrus agreed. "You'll most likely be completely healed in a few days, but you'll probably have some scarring"

"Don't you find women with scars attractive?" I teased my husband.

"Only if they belong to my wife"

Using my left hand I guided my husband's face lower and my lips met with his mouth plates. What mattered now was that I was alive and one thing was for certain the next time I saw any more Husks I was going to blow their damn brains out.
