Leena's POV

"Shepard you need to see this" Miranda called over the human Spectre.

We all looked to see a human woman trapped inside a pod along with some of the Normandy crew members. By the looks of things, they were all still alive. Shepard went to the pod containing the colonist and tried to find a way to get the pod to open.

The woman then began to turn red and I turned away as the woman screamed and banged on the pod glass trying to get out. Several people began to hurriedly bang against the pods and one by one the surviving crew members were freed. Dr. Chawkwas was the last to be released and Saren caught her.

The older turian carefully placed the human doctor onto her feet. She moaned and shook her head before seeing all of us were really in front of her.

"You came for us"

"No one gets left behind," Shepard told the groggy human and he gently pat her on the shoulder.

"Thank god you got here in time a few more seconds" Kelly began but she shivered for a moment before continuing. "I don't even want to think about it"

"The colonists were processed, those swarms of little robots they" Chawkwas explained. "They melted their bodies into gray liquid and pumped it through these tubes"

Sure enough, there were many tubes in the chamber.

"I got a bad feeling," Cy said from Saren's shoulder.

"Disgusting" Saren hissed. "What would the Collectors want with human genetic material?"

Dr. Chawkwas shook her head.

"I don't know but I'm glad all of you got here before we were next"

"So are we but we still have a job to do" Miranda pointed out. "We've done well so far let's hope we can finish the job"

"Joker? Can you get a fix on our position?" Shepard asked the pilot through his commlink.

"Roger that Commander all those tubes lead into the main control room above you, the route is blocked by a security door but there's another chamber that runs parallel to the one you're in"

"I cannot recommend that" EDI disagreed. "Thermal emissions suggest the chamber is overrun with seeker swarms, Mordin's countermeasure cannot protect you against so many at once"

Shepard thought for a second.

"What about biotics? Could we create a biotic field to keep them from getting near us?" he asked.

"Yes I think it's possible" Samara replied. "I wouldn't be able to protect everyone but we might be able to get a small team through if they stayed close"

"Then it's settled Samara you will maintain the field, the rest of you provide a diversion by going through the main passage, we'll open the security doors from the other side and meet you there"

Garrus was chosen again to lead the diversion team while Thane volunteered to take the exhausted crew members back to the Normandy and Joker sent the landing coordinates to the drell. Garrus and I shot each other a look before he headed out with the diversion team and we followed Shepard to the next area.

Samara had her biotics on full power and her force field surrounded us. Sure enough the moment we entered the chamber the seeker swarms tried to break through. Garrus tried to communicate with us but the damn swarms were interfering with the communication.

Drones spotted us and we could only shoot them down with our guns. The swarms would kill Cypher if he even tried to escape the force field. On the way, a Harbinger mumbled bullshit and I had the pleasure of bringing the big mouth alien down.

Our progress through the chamber was slow and whenever we saw a new enemy we shot them down one after the other. Cypher would continuously shoot the Collector bastards the bird with his claws and Saren would call the Metal Dragon ridiculous.

I found myself sharing Cy's enthusiasm as I made my kills. Samara was beginning to tire but the entrance was nearby and Shepard encouraged her to hold on.

"Your doing awesome Samara keep it up!" I shouted to the Justicar before killing another Husk. Eventually, we got to where we needed to go and I hauled ass through the doors with the men following behind.

Samara then sent a full blast of her biotics at the remaining enemies and joined us as the doors shut. Garrus asked over the commlink if Shepard heard him and the human Spectre replied. The diversion group was trapped and Samara was quick to get the doors open and when they did the entire diversion team joined us and when the last member was safe Cypher flew to the opening and unleashed a wave of fire at the Collectors who were trying to trap the diversion team.

I then saw Garrus got hit and I rushed over to my husband. My Archangel looked at me and flashed me his signature smirk letting me know he was okay just as the doors closed. He then kissed my forehead while Shepard checked back with Joker.

Thane and the crew were safely back on the Normandy.

EDI explained there were some platforms nearby that would take us to the main control console. There the system could be overloaded and the base destroyed. Joker interrupted that hostiles were massing outside the doors so again another team had to be formed so our group wouldn't be overwhelmed. Before I joined Shepard, Saren, and Cy on the platform my husband pressed his forehead against mine.

"I'll see you soon my Nightshade"

"Back at you"

I then got onto the platform with the men and soon the piece of machinery began to move.
