Danielle's POV
Tarquin caught me in his arms the moment he opened the door. A few days ago Leena sent me a message that Tarquin was relieved from any more deployments until further notice. His father the new Primarch made arrangements for him to stay on the Citadel.
"I thought I was going to lose you" I sobbed.
I was literally crying right now.
"I'm still here love" Tarquin reassured me.
My boyfriend then kissed me and I happily returned it. Afterward, I noticed something was missing.
"Where's Shale?"
"She's with Leena and her brother, you know how Metal Dragons are restless when they aren't doing something"
"Wait are you saying Cypher is Shale's brother?"
"I was just as surprised when I learned they were clutch mates, she'll rejoin me later, it was actually her idea to go with Leena so the two of us can have time alone"
The turian then drew me into the apartment and we spent time catching up.
A Few Days Later.
Leena's POV
Eve listened as I played a few songs from my violin for her. She liked Mordin's singing and when I offered to play some songs for her she accepted and she was enjoying it. I had just finished playing "Setsuna's Lullaby" since I figured she would like that one.
"You play well" the female krogan complimented.
"Thanks I need to play more often but the war is kind of interfering"
"Still you play well Leena" Mordin stated.
The salarian was still working on the cure for the genophage. Poor Wrex had to endure a tissue sample and I teased him when he explained how that happened.
"I got one more it's one of my favorites"
I started to play the "Imperial March" and Eve seemed to like it. I then saw Garrus entering the med bay with Shale and Cypher on his shoulders. It took him a minute to recognize Darth Vader's theme song and my husband shot me a glare.
"Your no fun babe," I told the jealous turian as I stopped playing.
"Shepard has another mission for us, he wants you to come along with me and Saren"
"We're joining too" Shale corrected.
Her wings healed up nicely and she was ready for some more fighting alongside her brother.
"I hope you intend to finish the song later Leena"
"Oh, I will" I promised Eve with a wink before heading out of the med bay. Cypher and his sister decided to ditch us because they both sensed Garrus was annoyed.
"Whoa! Babe what the?!"
But my protests were cut off when Garrus pinned me against the wall and his mouth plates were on my lips in a possessive kiss.
"Perhaps I should remind you that you are mine Leena," my husband told me.
"I am yours you don't need to be jealous of a fictional character handsome and besides"
I gave his mouth plates a quick peck.
"No male can satisfy me in bed except you"
"Now that's better" my Archangel purred before giving me one last possessive kiss. I changed into my armor when we got back to our quarters and met up with Shepard and Saren in the shuttle along with the Metal Dragon siblings.
Saren explained we were going to assist some krogan team. They were in Rachni Territory and back on Noveria the Commander had freed a Rachni Queen. Cortez eventually landed the shuttle and outside waiting for us was none other than Grunt!
The young krogan was happy to see us and he gave the Commander a playful smack on the shoulder. He then nodded at Garrus and Saren before I was engulfed in a hug. The hug didn't last long but hey I wasn't one to complain.
"Who's the youngling?" Shale asked from her spot on my shoulder.
"He's a friend of ours" I explained. "He may be young but he can fight damn well"
"Your damn right!" Grunt responded.
We made some small talk with our old friend before he ordered his men to move on out. Before leaving Grunt advised we get anything we needed weapon-wise. I didn't need any weapons since my guns were always reliable. The men however retrieved some weapons before we followed Shepard to start the mission.
The scout camp was trashed and we met up with Grunt there along with his men. Some more small ensued before we went into a building.
"Holy mother of god!" I yelled as the damn thing tilted sideways. The building gave way and we all fell down into the ravine below. Thankfully the drop didn't hurt us seriously but bruises wouldn't be surprising.
Grunt asked if we were okay and the Commander reassured him we were. While approaching the tunnels we found a dead krogan and Saren notified Grunt about it.
"Got some webbing here" Cypher notified us. The Metal Dragon was perched on some rocks in front of the webbing and sniffed it. He then burned the webbing down and Shale had the pleasure of doing the same thing with another.
We then entered a dark cavern and I had to rely on my panther vision to see in the dark. Before we found another curtain of webbing something small scurried across the cave floor.
"What the hell was that?" Cypher demanded.
"Don't know it moved fast" Shale answered her brother before she burned down another web curtain.
"Aw hell no" I growled when we found a cluster of what looked like eggs. Cypher burned the damn things down.
"Are you sure this isn't a Xenomorph Queen?" Shepard wondered.
"She's fictional Shepard" Saren corrected.
"Watch it Saren don't insult the Alien Queen I freaking love her"
"First you love Darth Vader and now this Xenomorph Queen? My Nightshade we really need to have a talk after this" Garrus finished.
"Hey I can't help if I like certain movies with certain characters, you liked Jaws"
"Because the shark was fictional" my husband countered. "But the great white species does sound interesting"
"They get a bad rep" Shepard joined in. "Their actually really cool animals, I went cage diving once with them"
