The psychic Pokemon stood before one of the portals, contemplating whether or not to enter it. Can this "Crazy Hand" be trusted? It could be a trap leading to an even worse outcome than the current one...

His thoughts were interrupted by the sudden arrival of Megaman, followed by a pair of Crazy Hand clones. He stopped and used his Charge Shot, hitting one of them dead on. Without missing a beat, he used Air Shooter to catch the other and finished it off with his Flame Sword. Both of his enemies disappeared in a puff of smoke.

He looked back to see both his onlooker and the portal beside him. "What are you waiting for? It's time to go!" he yelled as he made a beeline for the portal.

Mewtwo's expression didn't change, as if the recent events didn't surprise him. Looking towards the destruction taking place and then back towards the portal that Megaman was passing through, he simply scoffed. The choice is obvious, then... He entered it. A few moments later it closed, cutting off the connection to the Mansion.

"Mewtwo, what were you thinking?" Mega Man asked.

("Analyzing that portal to see if the real Crazy Hand was the one who created it. It very well could have been a trap.")

"Why would they do this? You don't think it's that same thing the others went after, do you?"

("No. They went after Galeem-an apparition of light. This was something else entirely-a surge of dark energy. Speaking of the others, I thought about them, but as I was meditating, I heard the sound of a dozen or so souls suddenly silenced, then a cry for help from Crazy Hand himself.")

"Crazy Hand? Scary to think about what could have him calling for help" commented the robot boy.

"You said it was a 'surge of dark energy' and not this 'Galeem' right? What should we call it, then?"

("I don't think it matters")

"Of course it matters! Are we just gonna call it 'dark energy' all the time? Noone's going to take it seriously!"

("...") was Mewtwo's answer as the Blue Bomber looked for his own.

"I know!" he said, lighting up like a bulb. "How about... 'Dark Galeem'?"

("There's no sign that it's simply a dark version of the other entity, like Dark Samus or Dark Pit")

"Well, there's no proof that it isn't! Besides, they attacked us simultaneously, so it could be!"

("I suppose it is a harmless idea...for now. Now come, Mega Man. We must gather our might and put an end to this Hand by Hand.")

"Yeah!" whooped the robot boy, pumping his fist.

"Now... where are we?" he asked, looking around.

Around them were thick metal walls that stretched out dozens of feet above, ending on a roof made of the same material. The room was dimly lit and seemed to go on for at least half a mile.

("We seem to be in some sort of giant underground warehouse")

"Cool" commented Megaman, now noticing the echo his voice made "how can you tell it's underground?"

("Because I can feel the ground beyond the walls")

"Well, that gives us the time, equipment, and safety to prepare to take back the mansion when the time comes."

The two of them took a look at the closest shelf. It was filled with strange machines and contraptions, with different sizes and shapes. However, as they checked out shelf after shelf, the both of them came up with the same conclusion.

("These are worthless.")

"Yeah. Why would there be a storage for such failed machines?"

("The Hands have always delighted themselves in exploration and discovery of all kinds. This is most likely where they store the failed experiments")

"Wow. I guess even they can fail in their pursuit of knowledge"

("Precisely") Mewtwo felt a strange feeling of relief as he once again scanned his surroundings for any life and came up empty.

("However, the best course of action right now is to find a way out") said Mewtwo, looking around.

Megaman nodded in return. Together, they searched the place, taking note of what else it contained.

After a few minutes, they found what they were looking for, as they encountered a door.

"It's an elevator. It should take us straight to the surface" noted Megaman.

Mewtwo slowly willed the doors open enough to allow them inside. Thankfully, a small engraving on a wall was there to provide an inventory list for the entire facility. Mega Man instinctively went for one at the very bottom labeled "PROJECT GALLEOM".

"What about that one? I'm sure the Hands would want us to use everything we've got."

("To grant us the power. Let's.")

"But I don't see a button for it."

Mewtwo could sense the electrical current from a hidden panel. ("Mega Man, unscrew that opening.")

"Yes sir." The robot did as he was told and indeed found a hidden button behind it. He pressed it, and the two descended to the very bottom of the warehouse.

After a few seconds, the elevator came to a stop and the doors slid open. The room they came to was blanketed in a pitch-black darkness and silent.

"What is this place?" asked the Blue Bomber, trying to glance through the darkness.

Cautiously, the two of them stepped outside. After they took a few steps, the whole room lit up.

The current room had walls, roof and floor made of the same metal as the one they were before. However, this one was considerably emptier. It contained several rows of advanced computers, every single one wired to-

"Is that a giant robot?" gasped Megaman, putting his Mega Buster up.

("This must be 'Galleom', I take it") remarked Mewtwo.

The machine in question was humanoid and 50 feet tall. But it had strange proportions, with its upper half larger than its lower. It had two missile launchers strapped to its back and its face was covered by a pointed mask.

It was being held in a giant service elevator, which was being blocked by a gate even bigger than it.

Megaman inched carefully closer to the machine, but calmed down when he saw its eyes. They were dark and lifeless, with no power behind them.

"It must be deactivated" he noted. "I wonder... what is its purpose?"
