Raine sat on the couch next to Eda.
"So, how's the kid?" Eda asked.
"About as good as she can be." Raine said, "She's upset that she can't fly."
Eda sighed, it was no secret that Luz's wings are basically for show. Ever since Belos had his way with them, Luz has lost that spark of hers and become a shell of her former self.
"I wish I could do something." Eda said, "That girl has done so much for me, I hate having to sit by and not be able to do anything."
"I know." Raine said, "But what can we do?"
The house started to shake, surprising Raine and Eda.
"Guys, there's a big problem outside! Hoot!" Hooty said.
Eda groaned.
"Damn it." Eda said, morphing into her Harpy form, "Let's go."
Eda and Raine ran outside seeing a massive amount of Coven Guards.
"Eda the Owl Lady, you and your little family are ordered to give yourselves up for crimes against the Emperor." A guard said.
"Ah, go suck a dick." Eda said, "Crimes against the Emperor means nothing after the Emperor attacks a school, kidnaps a child, and then almost kills them."
"You are going to leave." Raine said, "You are trespassing on private property and you will not harm anyone in this family.
The Coven guards didn't listen as they all prepared their spell circles, aiming them at Raine and Eda.
"This is your last warning. Give yourselves up peacefully or we will use force!" the lead guard shouted.
"You peaceful? How this for peaceful?!" Eda shouted as she flipped them off as Raine summoned their violin.
"These hands might be fake, but I can still use my magic." Raine said, playing Their violin.
Several guards were hit by the yellow magic blasts. While Raine used a gentler strategy, Eda was, shall we say... hands on.
"How's that taste you bitch!?" Eda asked, as she punched a guard in the face so hard that their teeth fell out, while going into her Harpy Mode
Eda was using her fists and her clawed feet to knock out coven guards left and right, her bulked up form also gave her more durability to tank their magic blasts.
Raine watched and shook her head.
'I'm engaged to this idiot?' They thought, before bringing out their wings.
They flew into the air and used the violin. Raine began to play her Rhapsody, making the guards and surrounding rocks and sticks float. The battling outside gained the attention of the three witches in the den and went to the window to see their parents fighting the Emperor's Coven!
"What the hex?!" Boscha said in shock.
"We need to get out there and help." Amity said, letting her butterfly wings out.
Boscha let her dragon wings out and Skara let out her bat wings.
The trio flew out of the house and prepared their magic to help with the battle.
"Leave our family alone!" Skara said.
Skara summoned her harp and strummed a melody, causing some of the coven guards to crashed into the ground from an increase in weight! Boscha drew a spell circle and fired multiple fire balls at several coven guard! Amity flew towards one of them and created a tendril of abomination muck from her arm, grabbing him and using him to hit multiple guards around!
"Sir, they're destroying us." The main one said to Belos.
"No worries, I'll have this settled with the moment." He said, "Guards, fall back, leave this to me."
He nodded to his emperor as he set off a signal for those that were still conscious to retreat, letting them gather their fallen members to leave. Belos walked up and raised his staff, sending a red beam aimed at the family. They all flinched, expecting to be reduced to dust, but it never came. Instead, they looked up and saw Luz placing multiple ice glyphs down in order to avoid the ice wall from melting.
"Run!"
The family was surprised to see Luz had come to their rescue before they quickly began to treat before the ice wall gave and the shockwave knocked them all to the ground!
"I applaud you for your efforts, but it's time for these games to end." Belos said, pointing his staff at Luz, "So long, you Abomination."
The hybrid cowered. She was expecting to be killed, but she ended up getting pushed out of the way. Luz opened her eyes and saw Eda.
"No… no!" Luz said.
Eda laid motionless on the ground, bleeding and burned. Luz ran over and held Eda in her arms.
"Eda!"
Luz felt tears and stood up. She looked at Belos and charged at him. Belos was ready, or so he thought. Luz delivered a punch that knocked him back and cracked his mask.
"You hurt Eda." Luz said, holding two glyphs.
She ran and jumped, slamming the glyphs together and making a lighting bolt hit Belos and break his staff. Raine wanted to stop Luz but was scared. Just like They said, Luz has so much anger in her heart, and it was scary to see her go down this dark path. Belos looked at the broken staff and realized that Luz may be a bit too much right now.
'She's dangerous, but unfocused. The more you hurt her family, the angrier and more unfocused she becomes… that gives me an idea.' Belos thought.
He disappeared in a flash of red magic. Luz went back to Eda, listening to her heartbeat. She was alive… but she was in a coma for who knows how long. Luz growled, Belos… he was going to pay for this.
