Leena's POV

Before leaving the Defense System Station we made sure it was clear before leaving for good. A short elevator ride later we took down a small group of Cerberus assholes. While roaming around we saw an orange force field and that made Aria uneasy.

At the next group of Cerberus troops, Cypher flew from my shoulder and burned them down before we continued onward. We entered another elevator and inside there was a red gang tag. Aria explained it belonged to a group called "The Talons". We found another after exiting the elevator and we walked through the streets before spotting a Vorcha in front of the orange force field. But before the Vorcha could react a Mech snuck up behind him and the Vorcha was punched through the force field.

Our group watched in horror as the poor Vorcha was obliterated and then he was nothing. Cypher roared and took flight. The Mechs didn't stand a chance as the Metal Dragon burned the machinery until nothing but the smell of burnt metal remained.

"I knew bringing Cypher would be worth it," Aria said. "We need to check out the force field"

We made our way towards the force field when it was determined the area was clear. Cypher returned to my shoulder and after examining the field Aria had us follow her. She opened a hidden door and then instructed us to go down the ladder.

"Tunnels interesting" I muttered as Aria rejoined us. I had my panther vision come to life so I wouldn't see shitless in the dark. I then pointed my gun in the direction of a silhouette. "Show yourself"

"Spirits looks who's back" a turian woman spoke. "Aria T'Loak"

The female turian sounded amused as she emerged from the shadows. Her face was covered by a black hood.

"Nyreen what the hell are you doing here?" Aria asked the turian woman.

"Playing cat and mouse mostly along with trying to stay alive, I wouldn't be if it wasn't for these tunnels"

"My tunnels" Aria corrected. "I'm sure glad I showed them to you"

"If you hadn't I'd be dead by now"

This turian seemed to have a history with Aria.

"Aria doesn't trust easily so I guess you're a good friend" Shepard voiced in.

"I don't know are we Aria?"

Okay, I definitely liked this woman. There was a playfulness in her personality that my husband had.

"Shepard, Leena, Cypher this is Nyreen Kandros ex-turian military and we go way back, I have a lot of questions but they will have to wait"

The Pirate Queen then suggested Nyreen follow us so she could get to safety.

"Looks like your itching for a fight," I told Nyreen.

The turian looked at me.

"You have no idea how ready" she agreed.

While Shepard opened a door Bray told Aria through the commlink the bunker was under attack. We had to get there before all hell broke loose. Our group didn't meet with any enemies in the tunnels and soon we exited them. Cypher took flight again when we saw more Mechs. Like before the Metal Dragon burned the machines while we provided backup for him. Nyreen was a good shot and she enjoyed shooting at the machines.

The next wave was Cerberus troops on foot and giving Cy a break we shot them down. Bray once more came over the commlink saying a Cerberus engineer was hacking the cannons and keeping them offline. Aria yelled for me to find the engineer and I separated from the group. I shot down some enemies as I searched for my prey.

I found the sneaky bastard and beat the crap out of him before rejoining the others in the fighting.

"Remind me not to piss you off!" Aria shouted at me while Shepard went to find the cannon controls. During the gunfire, Shepard managed to get to the cannon controls and activated them. I ran after Aria along with Nyreen and I whistled at Cy. With the cannons back online they would keep General Cocky Bastard's forces at bay for now.

We made it into the bunker safely but the smell of Cypher's blood filled my nose.

"I'm okay but some asshole shot a round into my wing membrane" my buddy reassured me.

Cy climbed down from my shoulder and hopped into my arms. He opened his left-wing and sure enough, the little guy was wounded. Immediately I got some medi-gel and lathered it onto his injury.

"You put up a good fight Cypher," Aria said coming over to where we were. "You need to rest now"

Cypher nodded and he closed his wing. Aria looked at me.

"I'll make sure he stays safe Leena"

I nodded my thanks before giving Cypher to one of Aria's trusted soldiers.

"That's one brave dragon" Nyreen complimented. "Poor thing"

"He tends to be a chick magnet too" I added looking to the turian woman.

Nyreen chuckled before turning to Aria.

"Aria I know this place is built like a fortress but is it safe now that the general's clued in?"

"I have no intention of sitting around" Aria answered. "Nyreen you left Omega fairly angry with me I wasn't aware you'd returned so explain yourself"

"The truth was I never left in fact I went to great length to keep from you"

Yep, there definitely had been chemistry once between these two and in all honesty, they made a cute pair in my opinion.

"I'm not easily duped well done but why?"

"I just couldn't leave considering all this I wish I had"

Shepard thought Nyreen would be beneficial to liberating Omega and I agreed but I kept that to myself. Aria reluctantly agreed and she instructed Nyreen to talk with someone. However, Aria told Bray to keep an eye on the turian when Nyreen was out of earshot.
