Arizona POV

"Yes, you can just put that right there and we should be all set." I smiled at one of the hotel employees.

"Anything else we can do for you Ms.Robbins?"

"Thank you folks for all your help, I think we are done here."

Callie texted me that she will be here in a few minutes.

"Wow, this looks better than I imagined."

Turning around I see her, she's always dress so perfect. She's in another power suit. Looking good enough to eat. I shouldn't be thinking like this. I need to keep it professional.

"Hmm, you like it?"

"Like it? I love it. You're really amazing at what you do Arizona." Callie says sincerely.

After the conversation I had with Teddy. I decided that being friends with Callie would probably be best. I know I've said that before, but this time it's true. Teddy gave me some advice that maybe I should have an adult conversation. One that doesn't include ripping each other's clothes off. Which to be honest is very hard.

"Thanks, Callie. I appreciate that."

I take a seat and Callie joins me, giving me that mega watt smile, that I've come to enjoy more than I'd like to admit. Nobody says a word, and Callie takes my silence for something bad.

"Are you okay?" Callie asked.

Giving her a small smile, I decide this is the perfect time to talk to her.

"Callie, I think we should be friends."

Callie looks at me a little confused. "Arizona, I thought we were friends? Is something wrong?"

"I mean I think we should be friends with out all the you know.. sex."

"Oh, of course." Callie replies faster than I'd like.

"It's only because..."

"Arizona you don't need to explain I understand."

"No, it not that I want to stop, it's just work is getting busier, and I won't have time."

"Hey, I get it." Callie smiles.

Another moment of silence.

"Well you did amazing work, Arizona. I appreciate everything you did here. Please send an invoice to my office, for your work. I need to get home to prepare for the event."

"Of course." I smiled.

Callie gets up to walk away and right before she get to exit she calls me. "Arizona?"

"Yes?"

"I hope to see you tomorrow."

"Of course, I wouldn't miss this for the world."

Callie POV

Sitting on my couch, I think back to the conversation I had with Arizona. I knew it would happen eventually. Friends with benefits only last so long, but I can't put a finger on why I'm so bothered that she ended it. Probably because she gave a lame excuse that she's so busy. What do I know maybe she is getting busier, but the sex was so good. Those beautiful blue eyes, her tight sweet puss...

"Hey Cal." I hear my sister announce. Throwing me out of my deep thoughts.

"Aria? What are you doing here? I thought you were in Italy, with mom?"

"You think I'd miss this event. I know how much this means to you."

"Thanks Aria. That means a lot. Did mom come too?" I say giving her a hug.

"No, she didn't, but she sends her love and you know mom. She wishes she could be here."

"Right."

"So what were you doing? You seemed to be lost in thought when I walked in?"

"Nothing, just thinking about a case."

"A case? That face you had on didn't seem like you were thinking of just a case?"

"It's nothing Aria."

"Nothing? Okay now I know something is up. Who is she Callie?" My sister insisted.

"Nobody, can we drop it? Please, I'm just happy you're here."

Luckily enough Aria drops the conversation. That night we spent the time drinking wine, and talking about what our parents been up to and how the hotel business is going. Eventually we both fell asleep on the couch like we did back when we lived with our parents.

"Aria, wake up. We gotta go."

"Sorry, I'm up! It'll just take me 20 minutes to get ready.

We hop into my G-wagon and head to the Archfield. Entering the hall where the event is being held. I see Arizona and Teddy already here.

"My goodness Cal. This is gorgeous. Who did this? Mom would flip."

"I know it's perfect right?" I smiled proud of the work that Arizona did.

"Perfect? It's immaculate. No way you did this."

"Hey, now. It was because of my immaculate brain I could get this done."

I can hear laughing coming from the side table where Arizona is hanging with Teddy.

"Immaculate brain huh?" Arizona teases.

"Of course, don't you think so? I hired only the best event planner in all of Seattle."

"You know what you might have a.. what was it you called it? An immaculate brain." Arizona winks at me.

Breaking us out of our little silly debate, I hear my sister coughing.

"Ohh I'm so sorry, Arizona this is my older sister Aria."

"Aria, this is Arizona."

They shake hands, and I know my sister instantly knows.

"Ohh this must be the case you were working on?"

"Aria." I scolded quietly.

"Huh?" Arizona laughed confused.

"Oh no, sorry. My brain is a little slow. Just got off a flight late last night so I could be here."

"I understand. We used to fly around all the time growing up."

"Did you?" I asked. All the times we slept together we never got into our personal lives.

"Yes, I'm an army brat. So we moved all the time."

Just then a few teenagers walked in along with a few sponsors. "Well I better get going. I have a few people I need to talk to."

"Sounds good, I need to help Teddy set up her desserts anyways. We can talk later. It was nice meeting you Aria. I'm sure we will talk more."

"We definitely will." Aria smiled.

Before leaving, I quickly whisper in my sister's ear. "Behave."

She looks at me and mouths. "I knew it. It's her."

"Aria, please.."

"No worries little sister, I'll behave. But don't worry about me. Worry about mom."

"Mom?"

"Yes, she's right there talking to her as we speak."

Turning around, I see that my sister is right.

"I thought she wasn't coming?"

"I guess she changed her mind."

"You knew didn't you?"

"Of course, we flew in together."

"Well don't say anything to mom."

"I won't but, if you don't want it to be so obvious. I suggest you two stop looking at each other like that."

"Aria, I need to go. We can talk later."

"Sounds good."

Arizona POV

As I'm helping Teddy set up all the desserts for today, I hear a voice.

"Wow, this is beautiful. Calliope did a great job."

"Calliope?" Who's that?" I whispered to myself.

Turning around I'm met with an older version of Callie.

"And look at all these beautiful desserts. Did you make them?"

"Yes I did. Thank you. Mrs.." Teddy starts but doesn't finish her sentence.

"Torres. I'm Calliope's mom. But please call me Lucia."

"Well thank you Lucia. I appreciate that." Teddy beams proudly.

"Do you know who helped Calliope?"

"I'm sorry I'm not sure who Calliope is?" Teddy says innocently.

"Sorry she doesn't like when people call her that. Callie. Do you know who helped Callie set this event up?"

"Yes, mom I do." Aria says walking up to her mom putting her arm around her shoulder.

"As our Callie would put it, she hired the best event planner in all of Seattle."

"I'll say, this is beautiful. So who was it? I need to meet this person."

"She's right here mother." Aria says walking next to me looping our arms together.

"Mother this is Arizona. The best event planner in Seattle."

"Hi. Mrs. Torres. It's nice to meet you. And please this was actually all Callie. She told me what she wanted and I tried my best to convey her ideas."

"Humble. I like that." Lucia says. She looks at Aria and I Aria gives her a nod. Lucia's eyes go wide and she nods back with the biggest smile on her face. I wonder what that was about.

"Arizona, this is beautiful. Come. Tell me more about yourself and how you started your business."

"Oh I'd love to but I'm help..."

"Don't worry about it. I'm almost done anyways." Teddy smiles brightly at me. "Go ahead Arizona."

"Well, I guess I'm free."

"So, how'd you meet my Callie?"

"I actually met her a wedding event that I planned."

"A wedding? Wow. So what made you want to start your business?"

"Well I grew up an army brat and we hardly ever celebrated anything. I mean my mom would try her best to make our birthday special and it was. But I always wanted things to be grand. I love being organized for one. I love finding the right pieces for my clients. I love seeing people happy. It seemed like the right thing. Also I wanted to be my own boss, and own my own time."

"I definitely understand being your own boss. There's nothing like it." Lucia agrees.

We continue our conversation, not realizing how much time has passed that the hall has filled up,just then Callie takes the stage.

"Hi everyone, thanks for joining us today. I'm glad you all could make it. But let me say a few things that way we can get the party started." She joked.

"So as you know this event is for the homeless lgbtq plus teens. This event means a lot to me because teens shouldn't be homeless because the people they loved turned their backs on them. I'm beyond bless that I never needed to worry about that. I wanted to create a safe place for them. So as we enjoy everyone company let's keep in mind our goal. That no teen should be homeless because of who they are."

As she continues talking, I can't helped but be amazed at how much she cares. Our eyes connect and she gives me a smile.

"I'd never seen her look at anyone like that." Lucia whispered.

"Huh?"

"Calliope, I can tell you mean a lot to her."

"I'm sorry but you haven't even seen us together at all." I joked. "Callie and I, we're just friends."

"I'm sure you are, dear." Lucia winks and stands up to talk to a few people.

Just then Teddy and Mark comes and joins me.

"How was it?"

"How was what?" I act confused.

"How was talking to your girlfriend's mom?" Teddy jokes.

"She's not my.."

"Girlfriend. Yeah I know. I was joking. But honestly Zona how was it?"

"It was good. We just talked about my business, that's about it."

As the event continues on, a few people give speeches, just then a young women takes the stage. She looks like she could be 19.

"Hey everyone, my name is Kaila. But my birth name was Eric. As long as I could remember I was always a girl. One day I finally got tired of living a lie and I told my mom. She didn't take the news too well. She told me to get the hell out of her house. I couldn't even pack a bag. I was embarrassed, sad, mad. She made me question myself if I should've just kept quiet then I wouldn't be eating out of dumpsters. Then one day, after being homeless for a year, I met Callie. She asked me why I wasn't in school. I told her my story. She fed me and put me up in one of her group homes. She set me up with a counselor, and got the help that needed. I learned that you should never be embarrassed of who you are. Because of the organization that Callie set up, I was able to continue my schooling, because of that I got full ride scholarship to Yale. I'll be going in this fall. I owe everything to Callie and this organization. If it wasn't for her, I'm not sure where I would be today. So if you think this is just another place to donate some money to it's not. This is life changing. I know it changed mine. Thank you."

Kaila walks down the stage and hugs Callie. They share a few words and she joins her friends. Looking around, almost everyone had tears in their eyes. I honestly had no clue of how amazing Callie truly is. If I'm being honest I would love to know everything about her.

Towards the end of the event. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes off of her, and I think she's having a hard time also because every single time I catch her.

"She's amazing huh?" Mark says walking up to me.

"Yes she is."

"Crazy right. She runs her own company and she takes care of all these teens."

"Her own company?"

"CIT GROUP?"

"Mark I'm not sure what that is?"

"Calliope Iphegenia Torres. C.I.T. That's her company. She owns it. She's one of the youngest to own a whole practice with over 100 lawyers under her."

"What?"

"You didn't know?"

"No?"

"Callie, she's a big deal, but I've never seen her cancel meetings like the way she does for you?"

"Cancel meetings?"

"Wow you really don't know? Callie she never cancels, but she does for you."

"Mark, I'm not."

"I know. Don't worry. You're just friends, but really it's an honor to know her. She a great person. Just like you. I know you must be special if Callie cares about you."

"Thanks Mark." I smiled.

"Well I better get going. I'll see you later."

"Hey, Arizona. It was nice meeting you, but mom and I need to get going. We have a meeting back in Miami. But I'm we will see more of each other." Aria winked.

Deciding it's best to just go along with it. I smiled and hugged her. "Definitely was a pleasure meeting you, Aria."

Lucia walks up to me and hugs me. "Callie, doesn't know it yet, but you're special."

"Lucia. Thank you, but honestly Callie and I. We hardly know each other."

"For now, but I know my daughter. And I know love."

"Love?" I whispered.

"See you next time dear." Lucia says letting me go and finally walking to talk to Callie.

Callie POV

I've seen my mom talking to Arizona a good amount during the whole event. I hardly had any time to talk to my family.

"Hi Mami."

"Calliope, this was a beautiful event. I'm so proud of you. Every year it gets better."

"Thanks mom, but I have a feeling there's more you wanna say."

"No, that's it, sweetie."

"I seen you talking to Arizona."

"Arizona? You mean you're event planner?" My mother plays cool.

"Hmm okay." I say letting it go.

"Thanks for coming mom. I appreciate the support. I'm sorry I couldn't talk to you more."

"Don't worry about it sweetheart. You had teens to take care of. I understand. But for now, your sister and I need to go back home. Please come visit us."

"I will mami."

"Take care of yourself Mija."

"You too Mami. Tell papi I send my love."

"I will."

"See you later, Cal. Take care. She's special." Aria whispered.

"I'll see you later."

Eventually the event comes to an end. The turn out was amazing. We raised over 100,000. I also promised to match every dollar. So that means we raised over 200,000. As I'm talking to the last few people who are still here. I see Arizona helping clean up. Excusing myself I join her.

"So I found out many things today." She smiled taking the seat next to me on the edge of the stage.

"Oh yeah? Like?"

"How much you care, and how selfless you are, when you could be the total opposite."

"Well everyone can be the total opposite. It's easier to not care. But to care, that.. that takes a lot more."

"Calliope.."

"Yes?"

"I'd really like to be your friend." She says looking directly in my eyes. That for a second it gives me pause.

"Of course. Arizona." I smiled back.

A/N: this look like the beginning of a new friendship.
