Pikachu spotted the team on the tracks. Using Quick Attack, he ambushed Wolf with a midair Thunder Jolt. He ran away before Wolf could catch them. "Ugh, I feel like I've been sent back to The Plague with all these rats." Commented Wolf, scowling.
Pikachu scampered around from car to car to get a sense of Star Wolf's fighting style, but more specifically, if he could spot any reflectors on them.
Since Wolf was distracted by Pikachu, he quickly turned his attention to the rest of his group. He rushed down Pigma and in a blink of an eye Pigma was knocked off his feet. Panther and Andrew didn't even have a chance to react before Sonic swept them both of their feet as well. Before Andrew could even hit the ground, he was launched in the air and Panther was swept aside in one swift motion.
Sonic turned to Leon and prepared to attack. The Wolfen pilot pulled out his blaster and took aim. Before he could shoot however, Sonic approached and kicked the blaster out his hand. Leon was quick enough to throw a jab at sonic which was caught by the blue hedgehog, but before Sonic could counter, he was met with a kick to the head. As he staggered back the chameleon rushed sonic with a flurry of kicks that sonic struggled to avoid, with the last kick catching him in the ribs. Sonic realized that this was not going to be an easy fight, so he decided to take 2 steps back to maintain some distance and reevaluate his options.
"You underestimate me hedgehog" said the chameleon, spouting some sort of slur between his words that Sonic didn't understand.
"I see that. I'll get serious, then. Let's see if you can still keep up!" countered Sonic.
Sonic charged at him with a Spin Dash knocking Leon back a bit, leaping into a roundhouse kick to follow up he caught Leon in the head, the force was large enough to send the chameleon tumbling several feet. Sonic quickly chased down the soaring chameleon. He caught up to the chameleon and released several punches to his stomach in the blink of an eye, the chameleon slammed hard to the ground skidding across the track until a rail made him come to an abrupt stop. He clutched his stomach with a pain so intense it rendered immobile.
"Well, looks like green and ugly's out for the count" noted Sonic, grinning to himself. He looked over to Pikachu to see how he was fairing against Wolf.
Pikachu maintained a strategy of keeping his distance, occasionally landing a direct hit. Wolf eventually saw through this tactic and grabbed Pikachu by his ear. This made Pikachu furious enough to punch him in the snout before using Thunder. Shocked, Wolf could only watch as Pikachu grabbed him and attempted to throw Wolf off the track. It was close, but Wolf scratched the edge with his claws, managing to hang on.
Wolf clawed his way back on the track. He could see that this fight was not going well for him. All his men were knocked out by one singular hedgehog and he himself was on the back foot. But he still wasn't ready to back down just yet. I need to get rid of at least one of these pests!
Sonic calmly walked up to Pikachu. "Need some help lil' buddy?" He asked, as they both prepared to take Wolf on in a 2v1.
"Pika." Pikachu angrily turned back to Wolf and slammed into Wolf with a Skull Bash.
"Way ahead of me, I see", Sonic followed up on Pikachu's attack, performing a front flip and attempting to bring his heel down hard on Wolf's skull. However, Wolf anticipated this and caught Sonics foot with one hand, but the force of the attack almost brought Wolf down on his knees. Sonic With the hedgehog in hand, he slammed him against the track, knocking the wind out of him.
Seeing him busy dealing with Sonic, Pikachu used this as an opening and used Skull Bash on Wolf once more. The attack hit him in the ribs, and he felt them crack. He doubled over in pain, seeing blurry.
Seeing that the space animal was no longer a major threat, Sonic and Pikachu high-fived and took a breather, but just as they were about to leave, the Blue Falcon rushed in. It almost ran over them both if it weren't for Sonic's speed and reflexes.
Captain Falcon stepped out and gave a sinister smile. "I have been called by Galeem himself to bring you two in—dead." he announced, with the captain's usual bravado and extravagance replaced with cold hard menace. "FALCON KICK!"
Sonic and Pikachu narrowly avoided a fiery captain falcon whizzing past them.
"You've got to be kidding me! first Wolf and now you?" complained Sonic. He wasn't ready for another fight right after having dealt with Wolf. "Alright cap, this clearly isn't you! What did that freakish ball of light do to you?!" he asked, trying to find something about the creature that attacked them on the island a few days earlier or at least keep him distracted.
"..." the captain didn't respond.
I really don't want to fight this guy, he seems so… different. It's almost like his abilities has been enhanced!
Captain falcon charged at Sonic again, throwing a punch aimed at Sonic's face, which was caught easily by Sonic and he pushed it aside; he kept on attacking as Sonic continued to dodge and back Away from the possessed bounty hunter.
I really can't keep doing this, guess you leave me no choice! Thought Sonic. As Captain Falcon tried to throw another punch, Sonic weaved and grabbed his arm. While holding onto it, he used all his strength to flip over him and use the momentum to throw captain falcon into a nearby abandoned vehicle. Knowing that that wasn't going to be enough, he rushed down on the captain and attempted to punch, but the captain dodged it and Sonic hurt his hand on the vehicle's metal plating.
Sonic turned to meet the captain and was barely able to block a kick aimed at his face by blocking it with his arm. Captain Falcon spun around and used his other leg to boot him in the stomach, sending him flying. He crashed onto the Blue Falcon, leaving him winded.
"Pikachu! A little help here?" asked Sonic.
"Pikachu." Pikachu ran up some distance in front of Sonic and used the move Thunder. "PIKA!" It struck him precisely, leaving him momentarily stunned.
As Captain Falcon was distracted trying to recover from Pikachu's attack, Sonic charged up a Spin Dash and rushed at him. He felt himself striking his target, and yet he wasn't bouncing back nor moving forward.
Captain Falcon let out a small chuckle as he single-handedly held Sonic back. Sonic was still whirring around in his ball form and Captain Falcon was effortlessly holding him like it was nothing. He turned and threw Sonic into a rail at the edge, bending the heavy metal upon impact, Sonic again felt his back scream with a pain even greater than the last. He grit his teeth as he tried to withstand the impact.
"Ok, I see you're trying to play rough" pretending to not be hurt. "But that's not nearly enough to take me down!"
He got in a sprinter's position, and dashed off at blinding speed, and just like before, everything around him looked slow to him. As he approached the captain, he noticed something very… very wrong.
Normally, when he goes at top speed, everything around him slows down, leaving him plenty of time to plan around his foes as they move at a slug's pace. But Captain Falcon followed him with his eyes as Sonic tried to get around him. He barely had time to process it as Captain falcon grabbed his shoulders and kneed him in the stomach, so hard it left him seeing double.
Sonic's eyes went wide, he opened his mouth to scream but only a wheeze was able to escape. The impact was enough to lift him off his feet. While he was suspended in slow motion, Captain Falcon followed up with an uppercut blazed with fire. Sonic no longer saw things in slow motion and he was launched into the air for what felt like an eternity to him. He was shocked, No one has ever been able to stop him like that before. Only Shadow had and even then this much damage was never done.
He crashed back to the ground, his body feeling numb, captain falcon was able to inflict heavy damage upon and he felt like he could barely move, he could only lay there… motionless.
Pikachu cried out in horror at what the previously good captain had done. The sound caught his attention. Captain Falcon looked at Pikachu briefly before continuing his initial plan to truly beat the hedgehog to a pulp. Witnessing this, Pikachu fired electricity that circled all around his body and ran as fast as his little legs can carry him, even more so than during Galeem's attack, and charged at Captain Falcon from multiple angles using his strongest attack: Volt Tackle. "PIKA...CHUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Captain Falcon was knocked into the same pit he had created when he beat up Sonic. Pikachu landed a little dizzy but was fine after a couple of seconds.
Mr. Zero, who had been watching the whole thing from the announcers' booth commented on Pikachu's amazing display. Then, he took a moment to look at his monitor before looking back up. "IT WOULD SEEM THAT IN A TWIST THAT ABSOLUTELY NO ONE SAW COMING, DUE TO BOTH TECHNICALITIES, AND GETTING THE FURTHEST IN THE TRACK, THE WINNER OF THIS F-ZERO GRAND PRIX IS PIKACHU!"
Custom victory music played and confetti fell down from the finish line just behind the little yellow mouse as his portrait and congratulatory graphics filled the monitors.
The announcer came down to the tracks holding a microphone down to Pikachu while also handing him the gold trophy. "So tell me, what are your feelings regarding this major victory?"
"Pika?"
"I'm sorry. What? Can we get subtitles for this guy? HE MAY NOT SEEM LIKE MUCH, BUT IN THAT TINY LITTLE BODY OF HIS LIES THE SPIRIT OF A WINNER!"
