Ivy ran up to Link as quickly as he could. He tried nudging the Hylian to try and rouse him, but this did not work. Ivysaur then saw blood coming out of the back of Link's head from where he had been hit. Ivysaur used Heal Powder on him to close the wound. Ivy then tried rousing him again, and this time, the Pokémon got a reaction out of the Hylian.
"Ugh. What happened? Where am I?" Link groaned.
Link found himself in a very cluttered, stone walled basement. The room was filled with all sorts of things that he didn't care to look at for very long, such as broken wood and metal pieces.
He stayed where he was, which was in a dark corner on the floor, until Ivy had fully healed him, then the Hylian slowly got up and made his way past the clutter to the stairs.
When he tried to open the door, it was locked, or either jammed shut from the other side.
Yet, something made him pause.
The sounds of people fighting.
Link knew he had to get up there and see what was happening now. He ran for the door leading out of the basement, only to find it locked.
"What do we do now?" Link said to Ivysaur.
The Pokémon used his vines to point to Link's sword and shield. Link was unsure about using such weapons against simple mobsters. But then again, they had gotten the drop on him once, so using them would probably make things go smoother for him.
With these thoughts in mind, Link pulled his sword out and equipped his shield. Using the Master Sword, he broke the lock on the basement door and forced his way out.
The mobsters didn't even realize he was upstairs, it seems they had bigger issues to deal with - a man and woman were fighting with them, yet Link couldn't see what the two attackers looked like from where he was.
However, they seemed to have things under control. Possibly.
But while these two individuals were busy with the two mobsters, the shopkeeper was slowly sneaking up behind them with another gloss bottle at the ready. He crept towards the woman first, ready to hit her upside the head.
Link knew he couldn't let this happen, so he did the only thing he could do. He made a beeline for the shopkeeper and used the Master Sword to destroy the bottle before smacking the shopkeeper in the face with his shield, knocking him down. This got everyone's attention.
The shopkeeper glared up at Link for a few seconds before he sighed. "Alright, alright. You kids won."
Link stepped back a bit, but didn't help the shopkeeper up. The man wiped blood from his face as he slowly got up and staggered over to the counter, then fell against it. "…You can… call the authorities… I'm done…"
Link looked over at the two newcomers to see what they would do.
Their response was to knock the other two mobsters, who were just as shocked at the display, unconscious.
"Thank you for your help." The woman said. "But, if you don't mind us asking, who are you?"
Link returned the sword and shield to their rightful places on his person and stepped around the unconscious mobsters, then made his way over to the two new arrivals. "My name's Link. Link Ailison, who are you two?"
"Nice to meet you, Link." The man said. "I'm Andy Bogard, and this is my friend, Mary."
"Wait, Bogard? As in Terry Bogard?" Link asked.
"You know my brother/boyfriend?" Andy and Mary said simultaneously.
"Yes. Somewhat, we're…." Link mulled over the right words to use. "Acquaintances."
"I see. Where is my brother now? Did he come with you?" Andy asked.
Link tensed for a moment. He didn't want to be the one to tell Terry's brother and girlfriend that he had been captured by an eldritch abomination of light, but he had no choice.
"…Both of you might want to sit down." He said after a few seconds, choosing to find somewhere to sit himself.
Once Andy and Mary were seated, Link told them what had happened. He didn't bother sparing details, both of them needed to know everything.
"Oh God." Was all Mary was able to say once the story was over.
"Is that why you came here? To see if Terry had somehow been returned here after being captured by this… creature?" Andy asked.
Link nodded. "Yes, and to try to find others that… survived. The only one I've found so far is Ivysaur."
Said Pokémon bounced up to Mary and waved.
"I see." Mary said, staring at Ivysaur with a weirded-out expression. "In any case, I'm afraid Terry isn't here. We haven't seen him since he left to join the 'Smash Brotherhood' you mentioned earlier."
Ivy looked somewhat hurt at how Mary was acting and returned to Link's side in silence.
Link noticed this but didn't care to respond to it, instead, he looked over at the three unconscious mobsters. "Do you know who they work for?"
"If they're working out in this town, odds are they're on the payroll of Geese Howard." Mary answered.
"He has a tower in the center of town where he spends most of his time. We can take you there. But I warn you. Getting all the way up to him won't be easy. Nor will facing the man himself." Andy cautioned.
Link looked like he was thinking of something. "… How much power does this 'Geese' hold over this town?"
"Let me put it this way. He craves power in all its forms. Money, influence, skill, even magic. And he has been able to find all of them, and more, to become one of the deadliest men on the planet."
Link smiled slightly at this. "Sure. I'll go meet this 'Geese Howard', and what's more, I'll try to put him in his place."
"You will need help with that, Link. More than just a...plant lizard can provide, I'm afraid." Andy stated.
"So allow us to accompany you. If it means finding a way to save Terry, we will gladly help you in your quest to defeat Geese." Mary added.
Link got up from the chair he had been sitting in. "I was going to let the two of you join me regardless."
