*****Chapter 6******

After bathing and dressing herself, Kagome had made her way into the bedroom seeing that Rin and shippo were already awake and playing quietly. She felt herself stop inside the door quietly and just watched in utter fascination at the way the children constantly played.
-*the mind of a child, oh how I miss the days when I was able to play like that*-
"Momma, would you like to join us?"
She looked towards the kit that had spoken to her. Softly she shook her head.
"I would love too , baby but you and Rin need to get dressed for the day and hurry, so we aren't late for breakfast."
Both children had gotten up to do as their mother told them, it wasn't long before both had come into the room completely washed up and dressed. Kagome took her brush and quickly tended to the childrens hair to rid it of evidence of the sleep they had just woken from. She grabbed each child by the hand and walked with them to the dining hall.
The servants had opened the door to show that Sango and Jakken were already sitting at the table. Kagome took the kids over silently, ignoring the little toads existence she was still fuming from what happened the night before.
"Good morning kagome, how did you sleep"
Sango beamed happily at her sister, Kagome looked towards the woman who besides the little kit holding her hand was the closest thing she had to family in this era.
"Good morning sango, I slept well. But would you join me in the gardens later after breakfast? I have something i need to discuss with you"
Curious to her sisters statement she only nodded her reply, their conversation was cut short for the doors had opened again to reveal a very stoic sesshomaru back in his ice lord facade, quickly kagome had sit the children down in between her and sango away from the reach of jakken before she herself had sat down quietly beside sessohmaru's seat. They waited until he took a drink of his tea before they began their meal.
He took a drink of his tea and the meal began, quietly everyone began to eat. Rin had taken a bite of her orange that was cut into slices for her beside her rice and meat before she started to make a strange noise, her throat had swollen quickly and became red. Everyone's heads had shot up at the weird noise and stared at the young girl before she fell out of her chair and collapsed onto the floor.
"Rin!"
Kagome, Shippo, Jakken and Sango shouted at the same time within an instant everyone had gathered around her, the first being Kagome who quickly assessed the situation of the young girl. Kagome's eyebrows furrowed immediately she assumed the role of the alpha bitch and began to shout orders.
"My lord, i don't mean to order you around in your home but your the only one with the speed to do this, run to my room and get my bag. shippo when he comes back grab the yellow pens that are in my bag, all of them."
Without hesitation sesshomaru had left the room running as fast as his demon would allow him
"Sango i need you to help me with her clothes get them out from around her neck and chest, Jakken quickly go fetch the healer"
They all nodded their understanding of their assignments, kagome and sango had quickly removed the top of Rin's kimono. Kagome had felt for rin's pulse and couldn't find it.
"Oh no. sango quickly switch me spots"
Kagome had switched spots with sango and began chest compressions on the little girl, tears streaming down her eyes.
"Kagome what's happening to her"
Kagome didn't take her eyes off the girl
"With how swollen her throat is after eating the fruit, and the redness I would have to guess she's allergic to it. This is common in my time but it's still if not caught in time very deadly"
She continued with the chest compressions when sessomarhu came back with her bag, shippo quickly grabbed all of the pens his mother told him about and brought them over.
"Sango i can't stop if we want her heart to keep beating, i need you to grab those pens and one by one take the cap off, twist the grey knob to .15mg and shove the needle into her outer thigh and push the button. It's a high dosage so only do one for now until I tell you another."
"Right'
Sango did as instructed, she shoved the needle into the young girl and gave her the epi. Kagome continued to pump the girl's heart. She did this before checking for her pulse again…
"Another"
Again sango quickly prepared the pen and injected it into Rin…another five minutes passed the swelling noticeably going down kagome again checked
"She's back"
She sighed her relief before looking around for jakken
"Where is jakken with the healer!?"
Sango rose from where she sat
"I'll go check"
She ran out of the room and looked around, seeing jakken coming at a slow pace informing the healer of what's going on he looked up and saw the woman
"What's happened now?"
Sango gave the toad a death stare
"Kagome saved her, thank kami seeing how you're taking your sweet time. The poor girl could have been dead by now if it wasn't for her."
They had moved at a faster pace with Sango behind them threatening to kick whoever she caught up to first. They came in and fetched the girl to take her into the infirmary.
Kagome sat on the floor with a frightened shippo crying into her chest, she rubbed soothing circles into his back and rocked him.
"kagome. What has happened to my pup, how did you save her?"
Kagome looked up to see the worried eyes that followed the healers out of the room
-*wow..that scared him so back he's not even acting as icy as normal..do..does he care for the human girl!?"*
"Well i didn't smell anything out of place with the fruit so it led me to believe that she had an unknown allergy attack to the citrus fruit, my lord she is deadly allergic to citrus it had almost claimed her life. She can't have it any more. As far as how i know"
She sighed this was going to be tough, she knew he didn't know anything about her or where she came from. But if he was to understand then she knew she'd have to tell him.
"I'm from 500 years into the future. Where I'm from, allergies are common, that's why I had those pens. They are made for allergies."
Sessohmaru sniffed her for deceit, but could find none. He had so many questions but he would have to voice those another day
"Hm"
He nodded his head as he accepted her answer and left the room to check on his pup.
Inuyasha and Miroku had fought a good portion of the night but had finally defeated the incarnation that nuraku they had collected the jewel shard she had in her possession, miroku was the one to pick it up and put it into a vial so it wouldn't taint inuyasha any more than his arua suggested he was already. They continued on their journey through the countryside, coming across a village they decided to look around a bit. Miroku wanted to confirm his suspicions and see if they had any scrolls in possession of the demon mind.
What seemed like hours and he found nothing, at least nothing that would describe inuyasha's behavior.
"This is going to be harder than i thought"
He let out a sigh as he went to find his companion.
Sango and Kagome sat in the gardens surrounded by all the flowers, shippo laid still in her lap fast asleep after the events of that morning, the sun sat high in the sky indicating that it was a little past midday. The other lords would be arriving soon.
"What did you need to talk about kagome? It sounded urgant this morning?"
Kagome kept her eyes glued to the sleeping kitsune laying her lap while her fingers busied themselves playing with his har.
"Yesterday when sessomharu had spoken to me in private he had brought up that he wanted to court me.."
She was interrupted by a loud gasp and squeal that came from sango,
"So..did you accept him?"
"Sango..don't interrupt"
She scolded her friend for her rude behavior but she had to admit it surprised her as well it had always left a funny feeling that kind of made her happy, she didn't understand why though
"Yes, I did accept him as a intended but I don't know where this may go. I'm human and not just that i am also a miko he despises both of these things that make me who i am. I doubt it's anything more than a front to please the other lords and make them think he is at least trying to find a mate. It wouldn't surprise me if afterwards he expresses his disgust and throws us out of the castle. He was also wanting me to attend the meeting with the other lords with me by his side."
Sango spoke up
"Kagome. The night you fought with Inuyasha, do you remember anything after?"
Kagome shook her head no
"I don't, i had zoned out pretty bad"
Sango sighed
"I thought as much, he had hurt you pretty bad that time.. Well, shortly after you zoned out, sesshomaru showed up out of nowhere.."
***FLASHBACK***
"I have heard and seen quite enough. Little brother you disgust me"
without speaking again he walked over to the miko, he crouched down, turned her face towards him and stared at her. "Slayer. Fox. Come…monk you may stay or come, that decision is yours." he picked up Kagome and walked past Inuyasha
"if you will not care for the miko then I will"
Sesshomaru stayed quiet, he walked over to ah un and sat Kagome down. She sat there staring out to space. Her face had paled, her normally bright and expressive eyes had dulled and darkened. He kneeled down beside her and brushed the hair out of her face. He grabbed a cup "miko drink."
She didn't move nor did she speak. He deepened his voice "miko" he said sternly "drink. Now."
She held the cup in her hands, staring at the mysterious liquid in her cup. Her voice was quiet and broken "what's in it?" She didn't take her eyes off the cup.
"It's just water, now drink" he spoke short and stern, waiting for her to drink the potion that'll help her sleep.
She drank from the glass. It wasn't long before it did it's job and she fell fast asleep. Rin, Shippo and Sango all stood up at the same time to get to their friend. Sesshomaru put his arm out
"leave her be, I gave her a potion to help her sleep"
He positioned himself behind her allowing her to lay in his lap, his eyes darted to jaken
"jaken"
the small toad scrambled to his feet "yes my lord"
sesshomaru took his eyes off of the trembling demon that stood in front of him
"go find food for rin and our guests, i don't require any nourishment"
the toad bowed "of course my lord, right away"
Jaken scrambled to his feet and left the camp to do his masters bidding.
forgetting about the others sesshomaru concentrated on kagome's features hard, he stared and studied every minuscule detail about her face, the way her bone structure formed the lower his sight got the harder he concentrated.
***END OF FLASHBACK***
"He didn't seem to notice us staring, he seemed to really care about you kagome. I'm not saying to close that possibility because I of all people know you deserve someone who will love you fiercely and wholly for your entire life but i'm also saying to at least think about it and give it a shot. I want to see you happy. You do so much for everyone without wanting anything in return or even thinking of yourself, you deserve the world kagome"
Kagome started to cry at her sister's words, she pulled sango into a tight embrace and hugged her. Wiping the tears from her face she sniffled
"Th..thank you sango.. But I do have a question for you. Would you mind keeping an eye on shippo for me while I'm with the other lords and sesshomaru?"
Sango nodded, wiping the trail the tears had left behind on kagome's cheek
"Of course kagome"
Kagome carefully transferred shippo to sango being careful not to wake him. She rose gracefully and walked into her room to pull out the red kimono that resembled sessomharus with white flowers that adorned it. They started on the bottom of the back and went all the way up and over to the top of her right shoulder. She went into the bath house to bathe once more so her scent wouldn't offend anyone. After she bathed and got herself dressed she had applied a little bit of makeup from her time to highlight her features and fixed her hair. After she had finished she walked down the hallways to meet with her lord.
