Chapter 30: A New Enemy P1

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, or Avatar the Last Air Bender, or Hades whom is Disney's version of him. I do own Kasumi along with most of her deck which is based off of Fire Emblem female characters and the four Titan Cards.

Things had exceeded really quickly. What felt like moments ago like a normal friendly encounter with Aang's Dodou, was I listening to my friends stories. They were successful in bringing down Pokemon Hunter J and bringing her to justice, but they had found out a horrible truth. One that honestly I hadn't anticipated...Someone else was behind this scheme, and that someone else was a man that was the son of Marik Ishtar the original wielder of the Winged Dragon of Ra Egyptian God Card. Ash was worried as he looked at Haku "Are you sure this Marik is behind this?"

"I keep telling you I'm positive at this" Haku answered Ash "Plus I have two other witnesses-."

"Make that three with Officer Jenny!" Toph interrupted.

"Okay, with three other witnesses" Haku said correcting himself "Four people witnessed the event."

Ash turned to Brock confused "How can one person turn a Pokemon into a card?"

"Got me Ash" Brock admitted "That's a totally evil thing to do though...It can be just as bad as a Pokeball."

"Got that right" I admitted to Brock "And I'm not liking this development...Not one bit."

"He called you out Lady Kasumi" Hanabi told me with a concerned tone in her voice "He seems to have a personal grudge against your father. So much of one he's looking to take your soul in a Shadow Duel in order to get vengeance on your father."

"That's why I'm confused" I admitted to her "My father befriended lots of people, made enemies of others, but he never mentioned a rift between him and this Marik Ishtar the Third."

"So what are you going to do?" Dawn asked me "He seems to want you dead now that you are onto his plan."

I looked at her holding the now terrified snow white baby Vulpix close "Easy now little one I won't back down from my promise, I will still help you reunite with your mother."

The snow white baby Vulpix seemed to relax in my arms as if sensing I was telling the truth as I answered Dawn "I'm still going to save that mother Ninetails, and it's time for me to stop this Marik from doing what he's doing."

"This world surely is going to find out what it means for a Signer to be in it" Haku admitted "She has to stop Marik, seeing that no one else maybe able too at this time."

I straightened up looking outward "We'll hopefully I can recover my strength by the time we meet."

Ash agreed with me as he stood at my side "Lady Kasumi allow me and my friends to help you in any way we can."

"Yeah!" Dawn said "We'll leave the Dueling stuff to you and your friends if there is a Duel! Allow Ash, Brock and me to deal with any Trainers he may have."

"Or have us think of a rescue mission for the stolen Pokemon that haven't been turned into Duel Monster cards" Brock suggested.

I gave them a smile "Thanks guys!"

"No problem!" Ash said to me extending his hand towards mine "Together we'll stop this Marik Ishtar!

I gave out a slight giggle maybe Ash wasn't so bad after all. I extended my hand towards him "Very well. Let's do our best to stop him."

"You'd better believe it!" Ash told me as we shook hands, singling a good alliance between my friends and Ash's friends this told me we were all united against a common enemy."

Hanabi shared a smile with Haku "Can't say she's not like her father can you?"

"Nope" Haku admitted "She's everything like her father in the inside. Yusei would be proud to know his daughter is trying to save others from this Marik person. Her father would do the same to stop this guy."

Toph watches this "I guess it's official we are allied to these guys."

"I don't mind it!" Aang told her "The more friends we have on our side the better for us."

Toph strangely agreed "Indeed.

So we all sat around a nice fire discussing what our next move should be. It turns out Brock was a great strategist at least with the details and I allowed him to begin discussing our next move or at least the discussion on what we know.

"Alright, then so this Marik Ishtar the Third was the true mastermind behind the Ninetails and the baby Vulpix's disappearance."

"Indeed" Haku admitted.

Brock continued "It seems that we have a common enemy in this Marik and we are all united to stop him."

All heads nodded in agreement allowing Brock to continue "At best we have four Duelist and three Pokemon Trainers. Our numbers is seven, and that's fine for a group...However we don't know where this Marik is hiding."

"Not unless Haku gets permission to interrogate Pokemon Hunter J" Toph muttered.

"That's very appealing at the moment" I told her "But we'll let the Police here try to do that. We have bigger problems to worry about."

"Correct" Brock admitted "In addition to not knowing where this Marik is hiding we don't know how many other Duelist he has."

"Or Pokemon Trainers he may have under his command" I added on.

"That too" Brock admitted.

"We do know that some of his Duelists know his location so dueling these Duelist" I added in.

"Correct" Brock agreed "Question is where are they and how powerful are they? Lady Kasumi you aren't at full strength yet to Duel."

I gave out a sigh "Stupid me using my psychic Powers on Team Rocket"

"To be fair" Hanabi told me "We didn't know that this path would take this sort of dark turn."

"She's right" Aang agreed."

Haku checked his Duel Disk "We should try to stay together, while Lady Kasumi rests to regain her powers and out of her strain. We should Duel for her in her place."

"Agreed" Aang said "We need to help her out in that part. Leave Marik the Third to her."

"Thanks guys" I told them.

"He's someone that could use your powers at full strength" Toph suggested to me..

I nodded "I may still do that."

"What's so special about the Winged Dragon of Ra anyway?" Ash asked me "That's really gotten you and your friends scared?"

I gave him a look that froze him up one my father might've tried but I answered him "The Winged Dragon of Ra isn't some ordinary Card. It is one of the three most famous Ancient Egyptian God Cards. Three Monster cards that in your world would be considered a really famous legendary Pokemon with incredible power."

"How powerful are these three God Cards?" Dawn asked.

Haku answered "Powerful as in only a selected few individuals can wield a God Card's power, if you aren't worthy of handling the card's power or it rejects you the God Card can kill you."

"Plus the God Cards aren't affected by any card effects" Hanabi added on.

I reached into my deck and retrieved my Titan Card looking at it "Boltose the Lightning Titan vs. Winged Dragon of Ra hugh?"

"The Titan Cards are said to rival the Egyptian Gods" Toph said after a while.

I gave her a nod "Correct but against Ra will be tricky, Slifer the Sky Dragon I could probably handle...Obelisk I probably could as long as it doesn't use it's effect, but Ra is the toughest of all God Cards."

"Why is Ra the strongest?" Brock asked.

Haku answered "Basically like Boltose the Lightning Titan it's attack points are the equivalent to all the monsters Attack Points used to Summon it...However it's effect when Special Summoned is dangerous, when Special Summoned it can destroy all cards on the field.

"Still with Boltose I could have a chance against Ra" I said.

"So we're at stage one" Brock told us "What's our first move?"

"With what you just told us" I told him "We should try to find where this Marik is by taking out his duelist."

"They shouldn't be too hard to find" Aang said "If only there was a list of Pokemon this Marik guy doesn't have, we know he needs the complete Evolution set of Pokemon to turn Pokemon into Duel Monster cards."

Haku agreed "You're right."

I racked my memory, as Marik Ishtar the first one was stopped by the Pharaoh himself during the time frame of Battle City. Now this circle of madness seemed to be repeating itself once again with his second son. I couldn't see a reason why this one had a grudge against my father. Was he one of the Duel Gangs that my father often Duel when New Domino City was divided into Satelite? If so I could see someone like that having a grudge against my father.

Ash had a plan "I have a plan! Just Duel whoever you come up against!"

I gave out a rare smile thinking that those words would've been what Naruto would say.

"That would take too long Ash" Brock told him.

"We need to think like or spy then" Dawn suggested "Or go to people that are good tricksters...And I think we all know a trio of clowns..."

"TEAM ROCKET?" Ash demanded getting to where Dawn as going to "NO WAY WILL I PARTNER WITH THEM!"

"Maybe Dawn's onto something there" I said in a thoughtful tone.

"What do you mean?" Ash asked.

"Pika pi?" Pikachu asked as well.

I turned to him "You said Team Rocket can disguise themselves pretty well and even take you by surprise to fall for their tricks right?"

"Time and time again they have done so" Ash admitted "First time was in Saffron City I think."

I turned to Brock "And have you partnered with Team Rocket before?"

"We don't often do that" Brock admitted "However there was one occasion we did when we were on the Saint Anne which sunk with us and them inside it. In that instance we had to do that."

"This time maybe we have to do this once more" I said.

"I won't let them steal my Pikachu!" Ash told me.

"And they won't" I told him "Not unless they want Haku to stab them with his needles, Hanabi to jab them with her Gentle Fist, or Toph unleashing a rock boulder at them."

Brock then got where I was getting at "You know something Ash? I think Lady Kasumi is onto something here!"

"I'm not seeing where a mini alliance with Team Rocket can do us good" Ash told the two of us.

Brock explained "Think about it real closely Ash, how many times have we fallen for Team Rocket's traps?"

"One too many" Dawn muttered.

"Exactly and they can be clever in disguises at least Jessie can."

"I suppose so" Ash said.

Brock then explained "If we are falling for Team Rocket's traps then so can this Marik person. Sometimes the best way to get information is to side with an enemy that we have seen for many encounters because in a way, Team Rocket really is just a side enemy or not ones we should be concerned about."

"Like Dr. Doofensmirths was downgraded once" I muttered remembering seeing a Phineas and Ferb episode on TV when I was five years old that had that part.

"Whose Dr. Doofenshirths?" Dawn asked.

Haku somehow knew "Oh just some stupid fictional evil villain from a well loved TV series where we come from Phienas and Ferb but that totally is Brock's point here and he's right, Team Rocket really is a joke compared to what this Marik the Third is doing. Where I'm not exactly sure why a Marik is doing such a thing, it can't be good for this world nor ours making this Marik the Third person a much more greater threat then Team Rocket."

Ash didn't look convinced but I then spoke "There's a saying in the world I come from, and it's this you have to pick the lesser of two evils."

"Lesser of Two evils?" Ash asked he digged into his brain and then gasped "THEN TEAM ROCKET IS THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS!"

"At least the three you all know" Toph said.

"An Egyptian God Card is no laughing matter" I told Ash "These cards can bring destruction to the world they are in if in the wrong hands. If Marik is allowed to go through with his plans he could conquer both this world and our world too if he pleases. He's certainly the bigger threat here that even those three clowns wouldn't want to mess with alone."

Ash and Pikachu looked undecided still but were now looking like they were going to warm up to the idea.

"I suppose a vote is in favor" Dawn suggested "Getting Team Rocket as a short term ally measure should be our first priority."

"We can vote on it" Aang told her.

"It is a good idea to do that" Brock admitted "Taking the lesser of two evils in this case. So let's take a yes or no vote on this measure."

I agreed as I still needed to recover from my Strain otherwise I'd be in bad shape to Duel another person even Marik the Third at this point wouldn't be advisable.

"So all those in favor of going to Team Rocket to have them help us in this mission, say yes" Haku said.

"I'm in!" Toph said raising her hand at once.

"So am I" Haku said raising his own hand "If the Lady Signer is in."

"I'm already aboard this idea" I said "So my vote is yes."

"If you two are going that means I have to go too" Hanabi said "After all Ninja Teams stay together! I'm in!"

Dawn thought about it but raised her hand and Ash looked at her bewildered "Dawn?"

Dawn raised her hand for yes and she explained "I'm a yes on this too Ash. Look we all need some help. Team Rocket at least the three we know can help us out with the spying stuff. We need intel on this mission and Team Rocket can support us with it. They could go undercover for us and find out what's going on. I'm a yes! I'll be glad to take the lesser of the two evils here. I'm a yes!"

Brock raised his hand "I'm in too! It maybe risky and we all have to watch over our shoulders just in case Team Rocket does try to pull a fast one on us and steal some of our Pokemon but the alliance should only be with the three members of Team Rocket we know."

"Agreed on that measure" I said "I wouldn't want the whole Team Rocket organization as an ally, just the three we know."

Aang also raised his hand "I'm a yes too!"

"That's at least five for yeses" Dawn said.

"Now for the nos" I suggested.

Ash sighed seeing that he and his Pikachu had the only two votes on no "Well it looks like Majority of the yeses have the idea of going for the alliance with the three members of Team Rocket we know. At least we all sat down to discuss on it and vote so even though Pikachu and I say no to it, we're still going through with the idea."

"Pikachu" Pikachu muttered not liking the idea ether but the yeses over ruled the nos easily.

"Okay, so that'll be our first objective" I said "Getting the three members of Team Rocket to ally with us."

"Do we have a plan to ask them at least?" Ash asked.

I smiled "Those three shouldn't he hard to out thought. How much do they want Pikachu?"

"A whole lot" Ash admitted "They won't stop chasing me and my friends."

"Then we're going to give them Pikachu!" I suggested.

"Are you mad?" Ash asked me but then he got it "Oh you don't mean give Pikachu away, away to them."

I nodded "Exactly, leave Pikachu out in the open, make them think none of us are around then trap them with Toph's Earth Bending skills."

"Their strange attraction to your Pikachu will be their ultimate downfall" Haku told Ash "When they see Pikachu out in the open, with none of us around they'll go for him but in reality they'll be falling for our trap, where we'll tell them what we know."

"Anyone with half a brain will know that this Marik person is much worse" I told Ash "Team Rocket's help will be appreciated."

"Alright then" Ash said " Let's go for it."

Haku nodded "Indeed at first light after breakfast."

The seven of us went to sleep soon after wards.

Morning would come and just as we planned after a great breakfast which Brock cooked up, we were out and about. We were looking for a good spot to pull off our ambush on Team Rocket or should I say our trap for Team Rocket. We were able to get to a clearing where it was an open fielded plain. The nice blue sunny skies were beautiful and didn't seem to warn of danger. This place was perfect for our trap. I pet Ash's Pikachu on his head and the Pikachu despite knowing what danger we were going to put him into loved me petting him and he didn't shock me. As I was petting him I whispered to his ears "Don't worry Pikachu, I won't let them take you ether, just play the part well okay."

Strangely Ash's Pikachu trusted me even though I wasn't his trainer, he nods his head "Pikachu!"
I looked at the Snow White Baby Vulpix "I'll even make it more realistic by putting this little one with you Pikachu, look after her well won't you?"
I put the baby Vulpix besides Pikachu with the Baby wanting me to hold her but I still held her down "There, there, trust me little one, Pikachu here won't let any harm to you. Besides Takara whom has become really protective of you as an adopted big sister will have her eyes watching you."

The baby Vulpix nodded settling down besides Ash's Pikachu whom wrapped his tail around her to comfort her "Pika pi!" he said to it getting it to calm down, the comment in Pokemon language probably was Trust her, I won't let anything happen to you.

The two Pokemon walked out towards the field and lay down as if going to sleep.

I joined Hanabi on one side with Haku standing in a tree keeping watch for Team Rocket's balloon. He kept his head hidden beneath the tree with Aang also keeping watch on the other end. Ash, Brock, and Dawn were hiding in a pile of grass waiting. Toph was at the opposite end waiting for her chance to create a hole which Team Rocket would fall into. I was told a Ground Type Pokemon would be able to dig holes for us but why use a Pokemon when you had two good Earth Benders that could do the job quicker and almost instantly?

It took a while but Haku saw Team Rocket's Meowth head balloon in the distance and hid low enough to keep out of sight as he spoke to me "Lady Kasumi, I've spotted them!"

"Right on schedule I see"

Hanabi giggled a bit as she was still with me "Oh, this trap is going to work out so well. Even your brother could out think them."

I giggled too "And that's saying something but we do need their help if we want to bring down Marik the Third."

"Indeed!"

So we wait and I watched expertly as the hot air balloon landed with Team Rocket quickly getting out. The trio snickered a bit as they tip-toed towards Pikachu and the Snow White Baby Vulpix that seemed to be sleeping. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Pikachu open one eye secretly watching them too. Then just as they were arms length away from the two, Toph went into action immediately stomping on the ground which instantly created a new hole underneath the trio's feet causing them to "AHHHHH!" Scream and fall into the hole.

As they hit the ground, my friends, along with our Pokemon Trainer friends were out of our hiding places and rushing towards the scene. Jessie poked her head out groaning at first she didn't see me nor my friends nor Ash and his friends "Hey what gives?"

"Yeah" James said poking his head out as well "This hole was made nearly instantly!"

The two humans looked at their Meowth with Jessie demanding at him "ARE YOU CERTAIN WE WEREN'T SPOTTED?"

"Oh sure blame me" Meowth told her "You know I wasn't the one with the binoculars that time."

It is then the trio noticed that we were surrounding them.

"It's a trap!" Meowth shouted.

"And you feel for it too easily" I said walking towards them better.

"That one's feeling better I see" James muttered.

"I still can't do much" I told the trio "I can still focus and right now we aren't here to fight you."

"You ain't?" Meowth asked me "Why?"

Ash grit his teeth "Believe it or not...We need your help."

"Our help?" Jessie asked "On what?"

Haku answered "There is an evil mad-man here in the name of Marik Ishtar the Third. He has the baby Vulpix's mother thanks to Pokemon Hunter J."

"THE SAME WOMAN THAT PUT ME INTO A TROPHY?" Meowth asked

"The same one" I told him.

Haku then continued "He's plotting to take all Pokemon and make them into Cards, and he does have one of the most feared cards to ever Duel Against the Winged Dragon of Ra!"

"Ra" Jessie asked "What sort of name is that?"

James surprisingly knew "Ra? Isn't that the Egyptian God of the Sun?"

"It is" I told him.

James gulped "Then is this Winged Dragon of Ra you speak about...A GOD?"

I nodded "Yes, one of the three God Cards."

James looked freaked out "Why would someone have something that powerful?"

I gave him a look "Can't tell you that answer but I intend to stop this mad man but...We need help."

"You have Ash and the other two twerps" Jessie told us.

"And we can work well together as a team" Ash told them and it was I that spoke "But we need something even more helpful..."

"Which would be?" Jessie asked.

"You to help us" I told them.

The trio blinked with Jessie asking me "YOU WANT US? TEAM ROCKET TO HELP YOU OUT?

I looked at her my tone not changing one bit as I answered her seriously the same seriousness my father would've done "Indeed. I know I'm taking a big risk here asking you three for help but in this situation we have to take the lesser of two evils and right now you two are the lesser of the two evils."

"How can you ask us for help knowing we're after Ash's Pikachu?" Meowth asked "And other Pokemon?"

Hanabi answered "Because at the moment we're proposing a little truce and a little temporary alliance. This Marik the Third person is worse than your boss."

"How worse?" Meowth asked "No one can be worse than our boss"

I gave out a a series of yes or no answers which the cat Pokemon answered "Can your boss mind control others?"

"That would be a no!"

"Can he summon a God?"

"Certainly not"

"Can he take souls of a living target and banish it to the Shadow Rhelm a place no one wants to go to?"

Meowth gulped the last no answer "No."

"This Marik the Third can do all the things I mentioned" I told the trio "From using the Millennium Rod to brainwash others to do his bidding, to summoning the Winged Dragon Ra a God Card, and he can certainly take your souls away banishing I forever or at least until he sets you free."

The trio looked terrified with Jessie remarking "This Marik guy..."

James concluded the same thing ending with "Does certainly sound worse than boss...The worst the boss has done to us has shouted at us or fired someone."

"As well as try to take oven an island where Mewtwo was which didn't end well for him" Meowth admitted.

"If Marik continue his dark path" I warned the trio "He will be able to conquer this world and the world where my friends and I come from. He has to be stopped as soon as possible, and I will do everything I can to make sure that happens as it's my duty as a Signer to do."

I turned my back towards Team Rocket picking up the snow white baby Vulpix lowering my guard. Haku reached for his needles while Hanabi prepared to jump in between me and Team Rocket if they were to have jumped me. It was a little precaution and exercise my ninja squad had, whenever I turned my back to someone that was evil or when negotiating something with them, this meant I was testing them. If they jumped me while their back was turned Haku would've thrown his needles at the foe at a fatal spot or Hanabi would interfere jumping and retaliating against the opponents quickly with one fatal blow. It was a sign to someone that was considered an enemy to someone in my party such as Team Rocket that I was willing to negotiate things with them and for them to realize that I was still serious about this but showing them I was willing to cross the line to ask villains for help.

The baby Vulpix giggled as I pet her head turning myself to face Team Rocket seeing that they didn't jump me. I looked at them "I see you didn't jump me, good idea not to."

"We seen that masked ninja friend of yours use needles on Pokemon Hunter J and we'd rather not take them" Meowth smartly told me.

"Nor anyone that can take out a Drapion like your Hyugga friend there." James said whimpering.

I had a feeling Team Rocket watched the confrontation between Haku, Hanabi, and Toph vs. Pokemon Hunter J.

I gave them a smile "So bottom line is we need your help and are asking to ally our whole group with the three of you only. Won't you consider it?"

"May we ask what's keeping us from taking Pikachu?" Jessie asked me.

I smiled at her which freaked her out as I answered "Haku here won't let you try to steal Ash's Pikachu nor the Baby Vulpix, because the moment you do he'd already kill you."

"You know me well Lady Kasumi" Haku admitted.

"We've been on this team together for a good time" I said to him "Long enough for me to know you by now."

"Plus we'd never get anywhere with that blind Earth Bender over there" Meowth said pointing over towards Toph "Nor can we get away with lying."

"You bet you won't Team Clown!" Toph told them.

I looked at Jessie seeing that somehow out of the trio she was the leader "Well what do you say?"

"What good comes out for us if we agree to this?" Jessie asked me.

I smiled at her "What good comes out of it? Well the world can look up upon you James, and Meowth as an anti-hero type than just a pure villain type."

"Anti-hero?" James asked.

Aang answered "Indeed, you know ones that are against the hero but aren't totally on the side of evil, just in between. Besides you all know that if Marik gets his way he might dismantle Team Rocket."

"That jerk!" Jessie said gripping hands while making two fists "No one takes away my paycheck from my boss!"

"Mine neither!" James agreed.

Meowth agreed with the two "This Signer girl is right guys. If this Marik the Third gets his way there is a possibility that Team Rocket will cease to exist. He has to be taken out."

"Can you be certain you can take him on?" James asked me.

I looked deeply in James's eyes "I'll do my best to make sure I'll beat him in a Shadow Duel as he put it. Even if he defeats me I'll die knowing I've done what I could to beat him! At least this group if you two ally with me and Ash will go down knowing that together did our best to stop him."

This got them sold on the idea with Jessie stretching her hand out towards Ash "You'd best know that we're only doing this on a short term agreement like this! Once Marik is done we'll attempt to take Pikachu from you!"

"You better believe this alliance is a short term one!" Ash agreed.

The trio now shook my hand as well and it was James that brought up the first move "So, you got us on your side of things Lady Kasumi."

"What do you need us to do boss lady?" Meowth asked me as if I was his boss now.

"Oh now she's the leader of this alliance" Ash muttered.

"Make since to me" Brock said "She had a plan to get Team Rocket on our side, she executed it quite well explaining things to them. Besides we need someone like Lady Kasumi to take over this massive mission."

I looked at Jessie, James, and Meowth as I gave out a smile at them "How well are your undercover skills?"

"Extremely skilled ma'am!" Jessie answered "Team Rocket can infiltrate any facility and discover it's darkest secrets!"

"That's good" I said to them as a waved a finger towards them to let them come close to me "Because we know Marik has Trainers and Duelist with him, in fact in order to find him we need to Duel his Duelist...I want to know how much Duelist or Pokemon Trainers he has under his command. Plus anything else we can use like where might one of his duelist be hiding in. That'll be your mission on things Team Rocket, we need you three as an Intel source."

"Say no more!" James told me "If you want under cover agents then we are your type of people to ask for! We'll find out those things for you."

"Indeed!" Meowth said "We'll figure out how many Duelist this guy has or anything else we can figure out for you."

"Just a fair warning" I told them "Don't go any where close to the actual Marik."

"Why's that?" Jessie asked me.

I answered "He has the Millennium Rod, one of the Seven Millennium Items from my home world. It has the power to brainwash anyone that's in it's range. If this Marik the Third does have it and you are close towards the actual him, he'll use it on you to take control of you three."

"No worries there!" Meowth told me "Team Rocket will figure out what you need without getting close to this Marik."

Jessie agreed "We'll keep in touch!"

"Indeed" James agreed with her.

I nodded as Team Rocket went into their Air Balloon to undergo their part of the mission.

"So we got Team Rocket to help us on this mission" Ash told me "So what's our next mission?"

I answered him "Our next mission hinges on Team Rocket's finding, the first person they locate that Marik the Third has under his command we'll go to his location and Duel him at once."

I turned to Haku "You'll be the one to take the guy down if he's a Duelist."

Haku saluted "Count on it!"

I looked at Aang "The second person Team Rocket finds out about and knows the location you'll Duel him."

"You bet I will!" Aang told me.

I looked deep into the horizon thinking Marik, this evil scheme of yours won't succeed. My friends and I will make sure you are stopped here.
