Kasumi and the Avatar

Sequel to Kasumi: The Last Signer. Fearing that the Avatar maybe found by the Fire Nation, Lady Tsunade of the Leaf Village sends Kasumi Aki Fudo, Team Ten, and Naruto on a mission to find and protect the Avatar. Can Kasumi a Signer help Avatar Aang?

43. Chapter 42: Rescuing a Ninetails

Chapter 42: Rescuing a Ninetails P1

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, or Avatar the Last Air Bender, or Hades whom is Disney's version of him. I do own Kasumi along with most of her deck which is based off of Fire Emblem female characters and the four Titan Cards.

Even when I had beaten Marik the Third and his Winged Dragon of Ra card, there was still much more work I needed to get done. The villain had left the mother Ninetails at his house expecting someone to sell the deck too. At my command Team Rocket had left to delay that client from approaching the house. Now in Marik the Third's dying breathe he had revealed to me where his house was. As a team we were making our way to the house. Along the way we heard police sirens sounded. Briefly the group stops and turns to see Officer Jenny hot on our trail. My father had multiple run ins with police back in the days Satelite and New Domino City existed due to being split apart and in a way this made me think of those days. I thought she was on our trail at this time for doing what she thought was illegal.

"What did we do?" I asked Lance as we stopped.

"Absolutely nothing wrong" Lance ensured me.

"Indeed!" Brock said immediately falling in love with Officer Jenny "She must be here to thank us for taking down Marik the Third!"

"Here we go again..." Hanabi, Dawn, May and I muttered seeing Brock willingly step over to Officer Jenny.

I could've sworn I saw hearts dance around his head. Brock gets over to Officer Jenny whom stops "Hey Officer Jenny! I suppose you heard the news! We just stopped Marik the Third!"

Officer Jenny smiled "This is the first I've heard of that, but rumors say that there were reports of a huge dragon none had ever seen before...Reports say it looked and felt God Like, and other reports say there were three dragons and one girl among them fighting it."

Brock turns to me "Well Officer Jenny, those dragons and girl that was fighting them was all thanks to Kasumi over here...And mostly me! So why don't we go some place private and we can-"

At this point I gave out a polite chuckle as Misty brought out a hammer and bashed it on Brock's head to daze him, then both she and Max took Brock by one ear each and Crokung came out using Poison Jab on Brock. Brock shouts in pain as Misty and Max took him by the ear "Not the ear and..." he gives out more painful noises as Crogunk's Poison Jab gets him "Now...I need to go to the hospital!"

He collapses under the pain that he was in due to Crogunk's Poison Jab with Misty speaking out "If anyone deserves credit for defeat Marik the Third it was pretty much Lady Kasumi...We did help as much as we could but...We shouldn't take that glory away from Lady Kasumi!"

As the three dragged him away Officer Jenny turned to me "So...You stopped Marik the Third?"

"I did" I answered her while turning to my friends "Of course I couldn't have done that alone...Everyone around me pitched in to help take him down...I lead the charge against him to stop him..."

"Then everyone in Shinoh needs to give you their gratitude" Officer Jenny told me "That man was using his army of Rare Hunters to take over Shinoh..."

"That wasn't the only problem he was doing" I told her "He's turning Pokemon into Duel Monster cards for someone. Does the police around here have any information on who might want a deck like that?"

Officer Jenny looks at me "Most trainers around here wouldn't want that to happen...However...The police have been tracking a certain boy name Daimeon"

"Daimeon?" I inquired puzzled as that named didn't ring a bell but it did to Ash.

Ash turned to Misty, and Brock whom were quite angry at the name.

"You three know who this Daimeon is?" Hanabi asked them.

"IF IT'S THE DAIMEON WE KNOW" Ash told us "We do." he sighs out saddened "If it is that Daimeon, I'm not surprised that it's him that maybe Marik the Third's client...You see back when I first started my journey in the Kanto Region, Brock, Misty and I came across a Charmander. At the time I thought it was a Wild Charmander and tried to catch it...However Pikachu here talked to it and discovered it was waiting for it's trainer...So we headed to the Pokemon Center...To heal our Pokemon and we overhear this trainer whom went by the same name brag about how he abandoned a certain Charmander because it was too weak for him-"

"How horrible!" I said saddened.

Aang also agreed with me "THERE ARE TRAINERS THAT DO THAT?! IF they do that, they shouldn't be calling themselves a trainer!"

Toph sighs out "It's like a family disowning their own child...I've had a slight experience in that..."

"So has my mother...Her parents feared her" I muttered.

"Glad to see you are on the same boat as we were when we found out about it" Misty told the four of us.

"You're brother Naruto could relate to that too Lady Kasumi" Haku told me.

I nodded "True...He could relate to that but compared to being left abandoned by a trainer where no one cared...Naruto was left alone, and hated by everyone in the Leaf Village. That's the slight but huge difference there."

"So...What happened after?"

Brock answered "After nearly getting into a fight with Daimeon, we left the Pokemon Center to save the Charmander whose tail flame was starting to go out...We knew that if the tail flame goes out it'll die...We barely were able to save it and bring back to the Pokemon Center. Once it was healthy it went back to the place to wait for him...Only it helped save Ash's Pikachu from Team Rocket and joined Ash's party afterwards..."

"What happened to Daimeon?" Aang asked.

"Charmander burned him when he tried to ask it to come back to him" Misty told us "And sent Daimeon crying to his mom."

"And that was the last we saw of him" Ash said "So if it's that Daimeon...I swear I'm going to punch his lights out."

"Even when you know it's illegal for Trainers to do that?" Officer Jenny inquired.

I looked at her "With all due respects officer...Some people need a punch to their face. This Daimeon sounds like a bully and those always need to have a punch to their face. This trainer if it is him ABANONDED his Charmander and left it out to die. If it wasn't for the kindness of Ash, Brock and Misty, that Pokemon would be dead! It drives me crazy that there is that sort of trainer out there."

Officer Jenny sighed "I see your point Kasumi, but the law here says trainers can't start fights."

Haku smirked a bit "Officer...You don't know Fudos...That maybe a law here, but I can tell you both Kasumi would give Daimeon a punch to his face, and so would Yusei her father...No Lord Yusei would make Daimeon's life miserable it wouldn't end with a punch to his face...Lord Yusei would make sure Daimeon would never do that sort of thing ever again...Even if it's a one time thing, you don't throw something that he'd see as a bound with a friend away like that."

"Well" Officer Jenny sighed looking at me, Aang, Haku, Hanabi, and Toph "You five aren't from around here so I can make an exemption...Besides you're right...This Daimeon if it is the Daimeon Ash, Brock and Misty met, he does sound like someone to throw in jail...Plus turning innocent Pokemon into Duel Monster Cards is illegal to! We need to catch him!"

"Exactly" I said "And we will!"

I looked at the Snow White Baby Vulpix "For her sake...I must complete my vow and reunite her with her mother."

"Then mind if I tag along?" Officer Jenny asked us.

"We don't mind it" Haku told her "As long as you don't arrest us for hurting him."

"With Team Rocket's help to delay him from getting to the house" I told Haku "We might not need to hurt him...All we need to do is help the mother Ninetails by freeing her and escaping with her."

"He might show up when we are escaping" Ash told me.

Toph turned to me "If that's the situation Lady Kasumi...Allow me to handle Daimeon."

I saw the fire in her eyes as she adds on "After all, my Gem-Knights want to be heroes."

I smile nodding "Alright. Permission granted."

"Yes!" She shouted with her Sandshrew at her side.

"So what's the plan?" Misty asked me as we get closer to the house.

I gave her a smile "Well without Marik the Third to stop us, we can just get into the house. Once in, and he didn't convert the mother Ninetails into the card because he didn't have the baby Vulpix. So we get to where he's holding her then free her...Then get out as far as we can."

"What if Daimeon finds us?" Lance asked.

I smiled "Toph says she'll step in and delay him."

Toph smirks holding up her deck "My Gem-Knights need a solo victory! The only victory I have is with Hanabi and that was with a Tag Duel! My Gem-Knights and I just want at least one win over an opponent by ourselves...Lance has one, Haku has one, Hanabi has one over me, Aang has one, and Lady Kasumi...Has two! So bottom line I want a solo win!"

"Technically" Hanabi sweat dropped "I have two wins...with one of those being that Tag Duel with you." She was quick to add on "However I do see your point Toph...Everyone of us should have at least one win here."

So we continued on our journey and found Marik the Third's house. It was unguarded as one would expect now that Marik the Third and his Rare Hunters were fully defeated. Officer Jenny leads the charge and was the first one at the door. She knocks on it "POLICE! Open the door!"

She wouldn't get her answer and she turns to me "No one's home."

"That's because Marik the Third is gone. He has no Rare Hunters left ether."

"Then how do we get in?" Officer Jenny asked.

Haku gave her the answer by kicking the door open "Like this!"

"That's technically breaking an entering!" Officer Jenny sighed.

"Maybe" I told her "But we're on a rescue mission. That's an exception! We have to enter anyway possible...There is a Pokemon captured here that's Wild and missing her baby!"

"Point taken" Officer Jenny sighed.

We all faded into Marik the Third's house and once in I felt as if Team Rocket was doing their job to distract Marik the Third for us because this Daimeon wasn't around. However even I knew Team Rocket couldn't keep him distracted for long if he was coming for the Ninetails even if it wasn't in card form.

"Haku!" I commanded "You, Aang, Misty and Toph are on look out duty! If this Daimeon is sighted...Give me a single!"

"Got it!" Haku said he turned to see a big tree in the yard, and turned, then looked at Aang, Misty, and Toph "I'm going up into that tree to watch for this Daimeon...Aang when you, and Misty hear my single, one of you should go and tell the Lady Signer."

"Got it!"

"What about me?" Toph asked Haku.

"Where you wouldn't be able to help me much in sighting this Daimeon, your ability to read footsteps will sub for Hanabi's eyes. You'll help me on look out duty on the ground. If you sense anyone's footsteps, notify me somehow."

"Earthbended Rock to the tree limb your standing on will work?"

"If that's how you'll notify me to notify Aang and Misty in the house, sure! Just don't hit me."

"Alright, I'll make sure not to hit you purposely" Toph told him "But I can't promise that I'll accidentally hit you with it."

"Not that I'm objecting to this" Misty told me "But why am I listening out for Haku's single too?"

I answered her "Someone that has seen this Daimeon should stay back to confirm if who Haku sees or Toph senses is this Daimeon you have seen in the past. Aang, Haku, and Toph haven't met this Daimeon so there is a high possibility that without your input that an innocent bystander or an innocent Pokemon Trainer is detected by them and might get wrongfully accused. Gotta eliminate the evidence."

"She's right on that one" Aang agreed "It is best a Trainer that has seen Daimeon stay back with the three of us to make sure it's that guy."

Without further words Haku safely makes it to the tree and jumps into it. Luckily for him it didn't have Beedrill in it or any Bug Pokemon at all. Toph stood patrolling outside the door as if she were an actual police officer even taunting out "Come on Daimeon...You'll make a mistake and when you do...It'll be lights out for you as we know you're the one that asked Marik the Third to do this."

Aang and Misty stayed close at the door with Aang making sure there wasn't any other door Daimeon could come in from on the outside. He returned and told me "Where there is a door that leads outside to the sideyard and one that leads to the backyard. That backdoor leads to an upper deck only...That side door further down the left of here is a surprise type of door and hidden so unless you were Marik the Third you wouldn't know about it. That eliminates those doors so that the only way he can come in from is the front door."

"Good job" I told the Avatar "And thank you for the information."

Aang nodded staying near Misty so the two could be ready to tell me when Haku and Toph spotted Daimeon.

"What about us?" Ash asked me.

I smiled "Why we're splitting up."

"Splitting up?" Ash asked "Why?"

Pikachu sighs as I take him and the others out to show them that the house was huge nearly mansion like except it had three doors that could lead us to go outside. Pikachu shook his head at Ash's stupidity muttering "Pika-pika..."

"Oh" Ash said "That's why."

I nodded "Yes, if we stay as one huge group, no doubt Daimeon will eventually find this place and he might be able to find that Ninetails...We can't let her fall into his hands to be a card..."

"Good idea" Brock told me.

"So how are we dividing each other up?" Dawn asked.

I smiled "Ash, you are with me, and Hanabi. We'll take one area of the house...Specifically near the area where that secret door Aang found lies."

"Why there?" Hanabi asked me.

Once more I answered but this time it was to my best friend "If I were to hold a Pokemon hostage without anyone knowing where she or he-"

"Sometimes it can be an it!" Brock interrupted me "There are some Pokemon that don't have genders. Although those that don't are rare for example the Voltorb and Electrode line."

I sighed "Now someone tells me..." I then continued my explanation to Hanabi and Ash "Anyway as I was saying...If I were to hide a Pokemon hostage it would be in a secret area that only I know about so if the police come on suspicion of Pokemon poaching, then they wouldn't most likely discover that door unless that police officer got a sneaky suspicion there could be a door there. It's the most logical place where I'd keep a Pokemon like that waiting for her baby to return."

"I see it" Hanabi admitted "Alright."

"Let's not forget to check all the other doors that lead to rooms while doing so" I told them "For I could be wrong too but it would be something if I were evil might do."

I turned to Lance "Lance, you take Brock, and May with you and check the second floor to the house"

"Got it!" Lance said.

I turned to Officer Jenny "Officer, please take Max and Dawn with you to check out any other place here...Specifically the right side of the house. That way we get every area covered."

"What if we find that Ninetails?" Max asked me.

I smiled "If anyone fines the Ninetails we'll meet in the kitchen and then as a group minus our lookouts will go free her. It's the least we can do. Once she's freed we'll have to make our way out of the place. If we all split up and go take our ways we will find her quicker...And hopefully we'll avoid Daimeon all together but if not...Then Toph can engage him in a Duel to buy us more time to escape."

With this we all split up. In a huge house like this, we couldn't afford a single error. In a way, I was hoping we see this Daimeon, honestly this guy made me think that no one could be lower than Marik the Third...But this Daimeon guy...At the moment made me think of him as a person worse than Marik the Third. Hard to believe...I know but that certainly was going threw my mind. I so wanted to give him a punch to his face he deserved one! Still the mission was to free the Snow White Baby Vulpix's mother. It seemed like hours but Ash, somehow found the door Aang was talking about, well or should I say, his Pikachu found it. Pikachu turned his head "Pika pi!"

"Pikachu found something Lady Kasumi!" Ash told me.

Hanabi and I turned and ran to the place as I asked the small yellow mouse Pokemon "What did you find Pikachu?"

Pikachu pointed to a wall "Pika pi!"

Once I used my hand to feel a hidden doornob I pet Pikachu's head specifically between his ears and Pikachu let out a playful giggle as I commented on it "Good work Pikachu you found that hidden door!"

At my nod Hanabi drew her Kunai, Ash had his hand on a Pokeball turning to Pikachu "Pikachu be prepared to use Thunder Bolt on any person that might be down there! I got Starraptor in reserve if we need it."

Pikachu nodded cheeks sparkling with Electricity as I turned the door nob then kicked the door open! Takara rushes in alongside me in front of the Snow White Baby Vulpix flames in her mouth as I entered the room. I looked around quickly putting my Psychic Powers on in their Prime State trying to make out anyone in the room. I even quickly resumed a fighting pose to use a Gentle Fist if they tried a surprise attack on me. I looked around calmly as I walked into the room and then singled to my two friends that were with me "All clear! But keep your guard up!"

"Yes ma'am!" Ash said smartly.

The two enter to be at each of my sides as we looked around. At first we saw nothing then at the far end of the room we saw a horrible sight that made my heart crawl. For there was a fox with nine tails in a cage, I could tell in the Pokemon's eyes she had been crying the hole time only it was pure white and had blue eyes.

"IS that a Ninetails?" I asked Ash.

"Looks like one!" Ash said "But the Ninetails I'm familiar with is yellow not white."

The Ninetails heard us and began making aggressive calls to us as if we were the enemy "NINETAILS!"

"Easy there!" I ensured her raising up my hands into the air to try to show her I wasn't there to hurt her "We're not with Marik the Third or this Daimeon that wants you."

The captured Ninetails began trying to breathe ice at us...Mainly at Ash whom sadly thought it would be a good idea to walk straight up towards it. Now that was the only dumb part Ash did, the smart thing he did was also hold up his hands to show that he wasn't there to hurt her ether. Due to Ash walking forward her ice strikes him across the face and began to freeze his head causing Ash to shout "HEY NOW! THAT'S COLD! AND I'M WITH KASUMI HERE! We're"

He never got the sentence as his face froze in ice. Hanabi sighs looking at Ash "This is why the Lady Signer stayed where she was..." she also holds up her hands alongside me "As he was saying we're here to rescue you!"

The captured Ninetails must've heard this a million times in her captivity, and you know something, I don't blame her! She clearly thought of us as a threat and she had every single reason to think of us as one...For all she knew we could be Rare Hunters in disguise to drag her to Marik. Ash finally managed to break free only after Pikachu used Iron Tail on the frozen face of Ash to shatter the ice. Ash eyes her then turned to me "What do we do? She's very aggressive towards us."

I turned to Pikachu "Maybe Pikachu can explain it to her."

Ash agreed turning to Pikachu "Pikachu, try to get close and try to explain to her that we're not here to hurt her! We're here to rescue her."

"Pika pi!" Pikachu said.

"And try to avoid that ice attack!" I added on.

"YEAH DODGE ANY MOVE IT USES ESPECIALLY THAT ICE BEAM!" Ash admitted.

Luckily our shouts got the attention of Lance, May, and Brock. Along with Officer Jenny and her group.

"What's going on back here?" May asked as the group was outside the door.

"We think we found the Mother Ninetails" Ash answered.

This got everyone to come in and it is Max that spoke "That's a Ninetails? Brock, since when were Ninetails white?"

Brock shrugged "Got me Max...However like the Baby Vulpix we found maybe she's from a different region all together...Maybe in that region they are different colors..."

"And elements" Ash muttered as Dawn turned to see his blue face "What happened to your face Ash?"

"He got frozen" Hanabi sighed "Walked too close to the Ice Beam attack while trying to say we're not here to hurt her."

We watched as Ash's Pikachu tries to walk closer to the mother Ninetails whom was now unleashing more Ice Beams at it thinking Pikachu was trying to hurt it. Ash's Pikachu did all it could to dodge the attacks protesting "PI,PI,PI,PI!"

Then the Mother Ninetails unleashed a new move, one that a powerful burst of energy at it. Pikachu was unprepared to defend itself against that move and is struck. "PIKA!" Pikachu cried in pain as it is flung backwards.

"What attack was that?" Ash asked.

Brock was puzzled "Got me...It wasn't ice..."

"Or any type I recognize!" Max admitted.

Lance pulls out a Pokeball "I'll see if Dragonite will be able to calm her down."

I nodded "Okay, but do know she's clearly an Ice Type and if I'm right Ice Types have an advantage over Dragons."

Lance nodded "Certainly...Dragonite come on out!"

Dragonite appeared "Dragonite!"

I explained to Lance's Dragon the message and it tries to deliver it as well and the Mother Ninetails starts attacking again with Ice Beam. Dragonite dodges as Ash's Pikachu tries to help it. The Mother Ninetails barks and unleashes the same shiny move once again. It hits both Pikachu and Dragonite!"

"Dragonite!" Dragonite shouts in pain.

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.

The two are flung back and Lance sees that Dragonite took super effective hit "Is it part Dragon? Because Dragonite just took a Super-Effective hit and that attack isn't Ice...The only logical conclusion is that thing is also Part Dragon."

"It doesn't look like a Dragon though" I said looking at the mother Ninetail's blue eyes there was something that told me she wasn't and I was right, she had to have been some new type...

"A new type that's good against Dragon?" Max asked "What could that be?"

Lance Dragonite gets up roaring and before Lance could stop it it began to build up a huge amount of power forming a meteor. Lance and I knew this would make things worse. Lance calls out to his Pokemon "NO DRAGONITE! DON'T USE DRACO METEOR! You'll make things worse!"

The Dragonite was too far into it's attack to be able to stop and unleashes the attack. All of us looked at each other with worried looks. Especially me, Ash and Lance. Oh we downright knew now this would make things worse. We watched as the Meteror seemed to have struck the mother Ninetails. Max even announces it "The attack hit!"

"Not surprising that she couldn't avoid it caged up like that" Officer Jenny muttered.

As the attack ended we saw that the Ninetails was standing up!

"Impossible!" Max announced "It's still standing!"

"And it doesn't even look hurt!" May admitted.

Brock nodded puzzled "What ever the other typing is...Lance...I think it's other typing has to be something else...If it were Dragon..."

Lance nodded "That Ninetails would've been knocked out or very hurt, instead of looking enraged as it should be at this point..."

"Better call back Dragonite" I muttered "We don't want things to get worse."

I then turned to Takara "Takara...Perhaps you can talk to her! She's a Ninetails!"

Takara nodded rushing forward "Vulpix!"

The Mother Ninetails stops briefly looking at Takara "Ninetails!"

"Vulpix!" Takara spoke to her.

"Nine!"

"Vul!"

"Gosh" Ash muttered "I wonder what those two are saying."

"Oh I'm thinking that Takara's trying to calm her down and say we're here to rescue her" I answered.

The conversation between my Vulpix and the captured mother Ninetails continued "Ninetails!" "Vulpix!"

For a while this seemed to work as the two Pokemon go back and forward...That was until the Mother Ninetails saw Pikachu coming towards them and it unleashed another attack that was supereffective on Dragonite. Pikachu got struck and is blown into Ash's hands while Takara took the attack without much damage. She looks at the Mother Ninetails "Vulpix! Vulpix!"

Even I knew what she must've been saying at this point and it was most likely Why did you do that? We are trying to help you! Pikachu is doing nothing wrong!

"Ninetails!"

"Vulpix?" Takara asked.

"NINE!"

Takara pauses for a moment then quickly retreats towards me.

"What is it Takara?" I asked her "Were you able to calm her down?"

Takara shook her head half way as a way to tell me half way yes, and half way no.

"Well what does she need to convince her were here to save her?" I asked Takara.

Takara pointed a paw at the Snow White Baby Vulpix. I blushed holding the Baby Vulpix whom was sleeping again "Of course! The mother wants to see her baby."

"Vulpix!" Takara said nodding.

I got the message "So she wants us to leave the room and for you to bring her baby back?"

"Vulpix!" Takara said nodding.

"Okay" I told Takara petting her "I trust you Takara."

I turned to the others "Let's leave the room quietly."

My group left the room with Aang scampering towards us "Have you found the mother!?"

"We have" I told him "Why?"

"Because Haku, and Toph both confirm they've spotted him! And...From what Misty's description...It is the DAIMEON that Ash, Brock and Misty know! He's coming this way quick...Well Toph bought us more time by making him fall into a pit but he's coming this way once he's out of it!"

Warning bells were going off as I turned to Takara placing the Snow White Baby Vulpix down in front of her "Quick Takara! Take you kin to her mother! You need to tell her we are here to save her and she has to believe us because...The one that caused her so much torment other than Marik the Third is coming this way! We need her to calm down so we can save her!"

"Vulpix!" Takara said saluting me.

The Snow White Baby Vulpix woke up once she felt me put her down. Takara walked over to her and like a mother Vulpix or mother fox would do, gently bends down and gently bites the Baby's neck. She picked the baby Vulpix up and leaped into the room quickly. As I watched my pet Vulpix run off, I turned to Ash "I'm going to watch Toph's Duel against Daimeon. Once Takara gives you the single that the mother is calmed down and ready to be saved...Save her then get out of the house."

"What about you, and Toph?" Ash asked.

"If Toph is successful in beating Daimeon in a Duel or in a Pokemon Battle, then he'll have to stop what he's doing and be forced to go back the other way. If she loses however...He'll continue his journey...However where I'm hoping the best for Toph, things might not be so easy for her. So if Toph loses then he'll duel me if you need that as time..."

Ash nodded "Right!"

I turned to Lance "Lance! When the mother Ninetails is free, tell Aang or Misty to inform Haku and he'll take you to the rendezvous place."

"Got it!" Lance said.

With all this done, I quickly ran out of the house and explained to Toph what was going to happen. Toph smiles nodding as we both broke into a run towards Daimeon. I was going to get my chance to give him a punch to his face and Toph was going to beat him in a Duel. Too be continued.

Cliff hanger, I know there was no Duel in this chapter but that is why it was split into two parts. Next chapter is Chapter 43: Rescuing a Ninetails P2 Kasumi and Toph intercept Dameon and Toph duels against his Pokedeck. Can Toph defeat Dameon or will Dameon trimpth over her?
