Chapter 50: True Duel! Lance vs. Kasumi P1
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, or Avatar the Last Air Bender, or Hades whom is Disney's version of him. I do own Kasumi along with most of her deck which is based off of Fire Emblem female characters and the four Titan Cards.
In two hours Lance and I were to Duel against each other. This time both of us knew that this Duel would indeed count. We still had Princess Azula as our prisoner and she was being guarded carefully by Haku and Kakashi-Papa neither one of them was going to give her away. She was still completely naked forced to sit while plotting of a way to escape. She however had to be careful as she knew I might've been able to foresee her attempts to escape. Right now I sat down preparing to Duel against Lance. In hindsight he was most likely preparing for his Duel against me. Deep down I had the strangest feeling that Lance would be considered my Jack Atlas or should I put it, my rival. While sitting I was reviewing what cards Lance's deck had and true to his title as the Dragon Champion he had Dragon Type Monsters. He had Magenta-Eyes Split Dragon a Fusion form of both Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Blue-Eyes White Dragon which was a serious threat. He also had Ascension Sky Dragon for his Synchro Monster. Plus with his Duel against Naruto my brother I had learned he had Galaxy-Stealth Dragon. Those three were indeed strong Dragon-Type Monsters so I couldn't let my guard down, not one inch. For this upcoming Duel I decided to use my normal Extra Deck including Stardust Dragon and Black Rose Dragon. I checked to see my Titan Card which was still in my deck, it could really help me against Lance.
Aang, Hanabi and Toph were watching me from afar giving me time to prepare for this Duel. They knew the urgency in this situation, sure Lance and I were dueling each other and this time, we'd truly figure out which of us were stronger in dueling. Not only that but the portal needed the two best Duelist which was me and Lance to open and send me with my friends, Kakashi-Papa, Naruto and Sokka back to our correct time. As I was preparing for my Duel with Lance, I couldn't help but feel my heart pumping. Deep down inside me I had a feeling Lance was my rival. I had to give him everything I had.
"Everything okay Lady Kasumi?" Hanabi asked me.
I turned to the three "I am, sort of."
"What's wrong?" Toph asked me "Getting cold feet to Duel Lance? If you are I'll duel him in your place!"
"Quite the opposite Toph" I told her "Not cold feet, but once again that same pressure I had when going up against Marik the Third is coming back."
"Understandable" Aang told me "You and Lance need to duel at one hundred percent of your strength to get us all back. If it's not enough we'll be trapped her forever."
I nodded "That is the part that worries me."
Azula overheard us " That's the part that worries you? Why? Are you so concerned for others that you don't care where you are in the world?"
I looked over to her as if to silence her. I knew her game she was trying to convince me to stay. She smirked seeing that I was onto her game "Look at it this way Lady Signer, purposely lose to Lance."
"Why should a Duelist lose to someone on purpose?" Hanabi asked.
"Don't listen to the prisoner" Toph warned "She's trying to convince Lady Kasumi to stay here."
"Now why would she do that?" Aang asked.
Toph answered "Hello, get with the program Aang! Lady Kasumi is strong so if she stays here, Orochimaru would never have to worry about Lady Kasumi ever returning to stop him. Classic textbook storyline!"
Azula continued trying to persuade me to lose to Lance on purpose "One one side Lady Signer, you'd never have to worry about him capturing you and ether killing you or converting you to his cause. You'd be safe as a bee here, and from what I've overheard Paul saying you'd make a great Trainer here. You belong here. This is your safe haven!"
There was a part of me that nearly fell for her words. Part of me wanted to have a place where I'd stay safe from ever being kidnapped and used. For one thing we had stopped Pokemon Hunter J, defeated Marik the Third for good, fully took out Team Rocket, and returned balance to this dimension. Deep down Azula was right that this place would be a safe haven for me but that was only a tiny, tiny, tiny part of my heart that told me this. However I saw through her scheme and didn't falter "Yeah right Azula! Like I'd ever lose a duel to any other Duelist! The only one to do that was Yugi Muto and that was against Seto Kaiba whom threatened to commit suicide if Yugi continued to press on his attack to beat him."
I looked at Aang, Hanabi and Toph "Besides...A place where all the evil in the dimension is gone will only get boring over time. Plus I'd be away from my family. I don't want ever want to do that. I love my parents like any daughter would."
She growls as Haku turned to her "Don't make me gag you Princess or knock you unconscious. The Lady Signer is trying to think on her Duel with Lance."
I returned my attention to my deck as Aang asked me "Think you can beat him? I mean I know you are a Signer and all and technically he's not someone that can beat you because he's not a Signer."
"Just because I'm a Signer Aang doesn't mean I'm not unbeatable" I told him "Kakashi-Papa has beaten me."
"Just by luck" Haku reminded me "He was able to draw the five pieces of Exodia to beat you."
"True" I admitted "But the fact still remains Kakashi-Papa beat me and he's not exactly a Signer ether."
"I know see your point" Aang told me.
"Vulpix!" Takara said to me giving me words of encouragement.
I giggled petting her "Thanks Takara, I needed that boost."
"Vulpix!" Snowflake told me eager to help out too.
I carefully scratched the snow white baby Vulpix's neck and she lets out playful vulpix sounds of laughter "Sorry Snowflake it's not a Battle I'm going up against, it's a Duel."
Ash, Brock, Dawn, May, Max, Misty and Paul sat with the four Professor watching me.
"Man" I overheard Ash say "Second time I've ever seen Lady Kasumi do this preparing for a Duel."
"Well she sort of has to Ash" Max told him "This is make it or break it for her. She has to Duel Lance with one hundred percent of her strength which means by the end of the Duel one of them are going to lose."
"Lady Kasumi has beaten him though" Ash argued.
Brock turned to him "True, but that was when Lance was under Marik the Third's control, that's slightly different than what is going to happen in" he checks the time "About an hour from now."
"I don't understand completely" Ash admitted to Brock "But a win is a win right?"
Trust Ash to be so blind in the situation. In a way he was right a win was a win. Naruto on the other hand was the one that surprisingly answered Ash "In a way that is true, a win is a win, I mean I beat Haku once to become my sister's personal Duel Student she was teaching, but he wasn't using his actual Deck. He was using Yusei's Duel deck that Haku was borrowing to test me so even though Haku lost to me it was only meant to be a test deck meaning could I beat any other duelist that was using it. Yes, I was, but if I was dueling our father Yusei Fudo, I would've been capped. When I was able to enroll in Konoha's Duel Acadey I decided to Duel Haku with his actual deck and...That deck I lost horribly to and honestly both Haku and I felt as if that Duel mattered more than my testing deck one."
Ash was slowly getting it but Naruto continued on "The reason was it didn't feel the same, Haku was dueling with a Test Deck meaning it was meant for ether me to pass or fail fifty-fifty. But an actual Duelist's deck is quite challenging to beat. In fact no one's ever beaten Haku except for my sister and her mother Aki."
"Oh!" Ash said.
Paul amazingly agreed with Naruto "He's right Ash. Let's put in Pokemon terms, let's just say you were borrowing three of my own Pokemon and I had three of your own borrowing them and we had a battle. And you somehow managed to beat my three borrowed Pokemon now how would you feel?"
Ash fully understood now "Well...Honestly I'd feel a bit good that I finally was able to beat you, but at the same time I'd feel a bit cheated as the Pokemon I had was yours and the Pokemon that were beaten was mine so it would feel slightly good but cheated out."
"Exactly" Naruto told him "Exactly how Haku and I both felt when we Dueled when he had the Test Deck, I had my normal deck but Haku was using a different deck which wasn't his. In a way I got in but it also gave me false hope that I could actually beat him."
Paul turned to Ash "Which can be applied with Lady Kasumi's first Duel with Lance. He was brainwashed by Marik the Third and Marik the Third was calling the shots not the actual Lance so it doesn't completely count towards Lance's win loss record due to him not being in control of himself. This Duel he and Lady Kasumi are about to do is going to be one for the record books.
Kakashi-Papa agreed "Indeed, Lady Kasumi is quite strong when she is Dueling another person now she did beat Lance before but technically this was more her vs. Marik than her versing Lance."
"So" Ash said "Following that logic, Lance beat Kaiba and Lady Kasumi beat our dimension Yugi...Since they too were brainwashed."
I nodded "Even though Lance and I defeated those two it really didn't count because Marik the Third was calling all the shots. Now while it maybe a shocker to both Kaiba and Yugi to this world that they lost, it doesn't count fully because they weren't fully in control of themselves. I'm sure that if we Dueled those two, then it could be completely bad."
May shook "Especially when both are said to have the two remaining Ancient Egyptian God Cards."
"That too" Dawn agreed.
I double checked my deck preparing myself for my Duel with Lance. While doing so Team Signer had been dispatched to check out the vortex to make sure it wasn't going away.
Kakashi-Papa turned to the group "Thirty minutes left! It's nearly time! Let's all get closer to the vortex."
"It is about a good half an hours walk away" Meowth reported from Team Signer's hot air balloon.
"Yeah" James admitted "Good thing we have this hot air balloon it's much more faster to get to it."
Jessie was scanning the vortex with a special device the trio had made to make tracking the vortex easier "So far so good it's holding up!"
With this the group all headed out towards the vortex. When we arrived Lance was already waiting for me to arrive. He turned hearing the group turn. He saw Kakashi-Papa standing directly underneath the vortex "I should be standing here right?"
"You bet" Kakashi-Papa told him he turned to me "Kasumi dear you have to go face him now. Both of you two should be standing underneath the vortex so that it's above your heads and face off against him."
I nodded as Kakashi-Papa turned to Lance "Lance, don't hold back on Kasumi here, give it all you got! Press her to her limit!"
"Got it!" Lance said "But why do I need to press her to her limit other than it's to see which one of us truly can beat the other."
Kakashi-Papa answered " For this to work, the vortex needs god like energy. While Zeus could technically provide that energy for us, it wouldn't be the same as the true energy it needs."
I was puzzled at first and so was Ash but Haku got it quicker "That means...This vortex needs the power of the Crimson Dragon!"
Kakashi-Papa winked at Haku then explained himself more to the group "Exactly! The Crimson Dragon's energy is what the vortex needs to recharge itself and reverse it's grip on us in this world."
"But don't we need all five Signers?" Ash asked him.
"Ah, I see you paid attention to what my adopted daughter and Haku told you about Signers" Kakashi-Papa told Ash "And while that's true in most cases-"
"The Signers have yet to truly be introduced in this dimension" Professor Oak answered for Kakashi-Papa.
Kakashi-Papa nodded "Indeed and because Kasumi dear is the only Signer here with us...That means only she can summon the Crimson Dragon." he turned to me and Lance "However Kasumi can't summon the Crimson Dragon immediately. She needs to be pressed to her absolute limit. In other words you need her Mark of the Dragon to activate. Now while I'm not totally a Science Professor or one that studies dueling energies, I'm still certain that the Mark of the Dragon can activate when the Signer is pushed to his or her limits during a Duel to activate it."
Lance and I understood Kakashi-Papa now. As the two of us looked at each other, I then knew that This duel truly was going to be one of my best Duels I have ever had. Lance just like Hunter Pace did with my father or Jack Atlas managed to do as well with my father on at least two occasions needed to press me to my limit so that my Mark of the Dragon could activate. This put more pressure on me and while I hid a silent gulp nervously, I knew there was no time to waste.
"Naruto, Haku and I will guard Azula" Kakashi-Papa told the group to make sure she doesn't get away "While the three of us will be doing that we'll also be watching the vortex. Team Signer, the moment you see anything weird going on report to me at once."
"Yes sir!" was Team Signer's response.
"Doubt anything could happen General Kakashi sir!" Meowth said "It doesn't seem to be going anywhere."
Azula smirked sneering "You fools do realize that Orochimaru may try to do something to make sure you all stay here?"
"If that's the case" Naruto told her "You'd be staying here too as our prisoner. I'm sure your father the so called cowardly Fire Lord would love to hear from Orochimaru that you were captured by us and he was forced to close the vortex faster meaning you are trapped in this dimension forever."
"My father isn't a coward!" Azula roared at Naruto.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah" Naruto teased her in a mocking tone "Say what you will 'Princess', only bullies and cowards pick on the weak like Aang's Air Bending monks whom wouldn't completely fight back due to their beliefs."
She growled as Sokka chimed in "Yeah! So 'Princess' if Orochimaru closes that vortex you're trapped with us and if that happens we may keep you under close observation so she can't escape."
She growls again trying to Fire Bend but wasn't able to. Haku, Naruto and Kakashi-Papa all guarded Princess Azula making sure she wasn't going to escape. This mention that Orochimaru may close the portal caused me to turn to Lance "We better get this done Lance!"
"That we should!" Lance agreed "Let's stop the chatting then Lady Kasumi and let's get this Duel on!"
"Indeed!"
Lance and I activate our Duel Disks and drew our top five cards shouting "DUEL!"
Lance's Life Points: 4000
My Life Points: 4000
"I'll start us off" Lance offered.
I nodded "Go ahead."
"It's my move" Lance told me "I draw!"
He drew his card "I'll start this Duel by Summoning my Masked Dragon in defense mode!"
Masked Dragon appears on the field. DEF: 1200
"With that I activate my Continuous Spell Card: Shard of Greed!" Lance told me playing a spell card "Now every time this card is out on my Stand By phase it gains one Shard Counter, and when it gets two of them I can send it to my field to my Graveyard then draw two cards. Then I end my turn."
"It's my move!" I announced "I draw!"
I drew my card "First I summon my Swordmaster Mia to the field in attack mode!"
Swordmaster Mia appeared on the field ATK: 1800
"During the Battle Phase" I told Lance "Swordmaster Mia can attack twice, so Battle! Swordmaster Mia attack Masked Dragon! Swordmaster Critical!"
Swordmaster Mia attacks Lance's monster slicing right through it. The dragon Monster roars I pain before it was shattered.
Lance then spoke "Nice to know that your Swordmaster can attack twice but I doubt you'll want to attack when I activate Masked Dragon's special ability, when it is destroyed I am allowed to Special Summon one Dragon Type Monster with fifteen hundred attack points or below and I use his effect to Special Summon Golem Dragon in defense mode!"
Out of the explosion that came from Masked Dragon, Golem Dragon soon appeared on the field in defense mode! DEF: 2000
I checked my hand "Turn end."
"It's my move!" Lance told me "I draw!"
He drew "First my Shard of Greed Continuous Spell Card gains one Shard Counter."
I watched as this did happen then he spoke " Then I'll be summoning my Magna Drago Tuner Monster!"
Magna Drago appeared on the field ATK: 1400
"Next" Lance told me "I'm going to tune my level 2 Magna Drago Tuner Monster with my Level four Golem Dragon!"
Magna Drago split into two rings as it scanned Golem Dragon with Lance chanting out "Underwater Dragon, guardian of the coral reef rise to the ocean surface to protect the seas...Synchro Summon Burst threw the waves! Coral Dragon!"
Out of a flash of white light Coral Dragon appeared on the field. ATK: 2400
Lance then snapped his fingers "Battle! Coral Dragon, attack her Swordmaster Mia with Ocean's Fury"
Coral Dragon roared unleashing her attack which seemed to be a huge water wave. This hit my Swordmaster Mia destroying her on sight and it did slightly damage my Life Points as I muttered "So much for her."
My Life Points: 3400
"I hope that wasn't all you have Lady Signer" Lance told me "Because Coral Dragon is the least of your worries, I'll also have you know that Coral Dragon maybe a Synchro Monster but he's a rare breed of Synchro Monster known as a Synchro Tuner."
"Synchro Tuner?" Naruto asked dumbly he turned to Hanabi "Do you know what that is?
Hanabi shot him a look as if he insulted her but answers him "Basically it's a Synchro Monster but it is also treated as Tuner Monster so that if Lance wishes too he can tune Coral Dragon with any of his monsters to Synchro Summon another Synchro."
"It's a level six Synchro" Naruto pointed out.
"True" Haku told him "But, Synchro Monsters can go up all the way to level 12 depending on the Synchro Monster."
Naruto blinked not understanding it but I had the feeling Lance planned to bring out Ascension Sky Dragon soon. That Duel Monster would certainly give me pressure. I had to destroy Coral Dragon but as I checked my hand I didn't have anything yet. Lance then spoke "I'll end my turn."
"It's my move!" I announced "I draw!"
I drew "I summon my Cleric Mist to the field in defense mode!"
Cleric Mist appeared on my side of the field and was in defense mode turning blue to indicate she was in defense mode. DEF: 500
"By summoning her, I'll gain one thousand Life Points!" I told Lance.
I watch as Cleric Mist's palms glew then she began increasing my Life Points.
My Life Points: 4400
"I'll set one card face-down and end my turn" I said.
"It's my move!" Lance announced to me "I draw!"
He drew his card now having five cards in his hand. Then he pointed to Shard of Greed
"Now that my Shard of Greed has two Shard Counters on it, I'll discard it to the Graveyard and draw two more cards!"
With this said Shard of Greed vanished and he drew two cards "Then I'll summon my Bright Star Dragon to the field in attack mode!"
Bright Star Dragon appeared on the field ATK: 1900
"Whenever he's normal Summoned" Lance warned me "I can increase another Dragon Type Monster's level by two but I won't be doing that!"
"Ah," Naruto muttered "Why not?"
Lance answered "Because I'm going to tune my level six Coral Dragon with my level four Bright Star Dragon!"
I watched again as Coral Dragon split into six rings as it scanned Lance's Bright Star Dragon as he chanted out " Holy Dragon of the skies descend from them and roar your majestic might...Synchro Summon Level 10, Ascension Sky Dragon!"
Another flash of light appeared and Ascension Sky Dragon appeared on the field ATK:?
Lance held up his cards looking at me "Ascension Sky Dragon's Original Attack Points is eight hundred times the number of cards currently in my hand and as you can see Lady Signer I have six cards."
I watched as Ascension Sky Dragon powers up roaring as it does. ?-4800
"Forty-Eight Hundred attack points?!" Naruto demanded "THAT'S NOT FAIR!"
"And it gets worse!" Hanabi said "Unlike Slifer the Sky Dragon...Ascension Sky Dragon's attack stays the same as it is! Which means Lance is free to use his cards without decreasing Ascension Sky Dragon's attack!"
"And I intend to do so" Lance said "Next, I'll be activate my Spell Card: Polymerization!"
"Now He's Fusion Summoning?!" Naruto demanded "I hope it's not Magenta-Eyes Split Dragon!"
Lance chuckled "You're about to find out, with Polymerization, I'll fuse my Luster Dragon in my hand with a Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand!"
"Another Blue-Eyes Fusion?" Naruto asked.
Lance shook his head "Nope, but something to give the Lady Signer pressure! This Dragon Fusion Monster requires two Normal type Dragon Monsters to be used in it"
He closes his eyes "Two Normal noble dragons, join forces as one to show the one true ancient king of the dragons...Fusion Summon...Level 8: First of the Dragons!"
The two Fusion Monsters fuse together and in their place a true big black dragon appeared on the field ATK: 2700
"Next" Lance told me "It's time for Battle and maybe the time I defeat Kasumi! First of the Dragons attack Cleric Mist! Dragon's Rage!"
Lance's Dragon roared then unleashed it's flames but I choose to step up "I activate my Continuous Trap Card: Dodge Attack!"
I gained two coins "I can activate this Continuous Trap Card when you declare an attack on my monster! All what happens next depends on the results, if I get two heads your attack is completely negated or dodged, if it's one heads and one tails the attack is treated as a direct attack on my Life Points instead, but if it's two Tails the attack connects to Mist destroying her.
I flipped the coins and was very lucky to get two heads and I revealed them "Two heads! Which means Mist is safe!"
Lance watches as Cleric Mist barely evades First of the Dragon's attack smirking "That's one attack she's dodged, but how about the other from Ascension Sky Dragon, go Ascension Sky Dragon Blazing Light!"
Ascension Sky Dragon roared and unleashed it's light attack at Cleric Mist. I took a chance "I activate Dodge Attack again!"
I flipped the coins again and once more got a lucky two heads "Attack successfully dodged!"
Naruto whistles seeing Cleric Mist barely dodging that attack "That was two close attacks...Lance is putting up the pressure."
"No kidding" Ash said he then eyed Naruto "Still think you can take Lance?"
"Seeing that my sister is struggling against him in this full true all out Duel...THAT ANSWER IS NO!"
Lance chuckled "Not bad you survived that round, I'll set one card face-down and end my turn."
"It's my move then!" I announced "I draw!"
I drew my card then pointed as Cleric Mist "When Cleric Mist is still on my side of the field during my Stand By Phase my Life Points get five hundred point increase!"
My Life Points rose a bit more. My Life Points: 4900
I now had enough to survive Lance's direct attacks but I had a suspicion that Lance's face-down card might screw me over but I had to try. I looked at the scene no monster at the moment could touch Lance's Ascension Sky Dragon but with luck one could touch First of the Dragons my Favorite Synchro Monster could!
I decided to go for it "Here I go then! I activate Spell Card: Monster Reborn! So I can bring back my Swordmaster Mia!"
Swordmaster Mia appears on the field ATK: 1800
"Next" I told Lance "I summon the Heron Leanne Tuner Monster!"
Heron Leanne appeared on the field as well ATK: 0
"Next" I told Lance, "I'm going to tune my Level two Heron Leanne with my Level four Swordmaster Mia!"
"Go for it Lady Kasumi!" Hanabi shouted as Heron Leanne split into two rings scanning my Swordmaster Mia.
I smiled chanting out "Born by Blood by the Crimson Dragon, the Light Shines for the truth...For Justice, Synchro Summon...Michiah, Maiden of Dawn!"
Out of a flash of light, Michiah, Maiden of Dawn appeared ATK: 2400
"When Michiah comes onto the field" I told Lance "All Monsters on my side of the field gain five hundred extra attack points!"
Michiah shown a mighty light on my side of the field increasing all of my Monster's attack points by five hundred at least those that were in attack mode. I kept Cleric Mist in defense mode. Michiah's ATK: 2400-2900
"She might not be able to destroy your Synchro Monster but she can destroy your First of the Dragons! Battle! Go Michiah Maiden of Dawn attack Lance's first of the Dragon's with Thani!"
Michiah took aim and fired at Lance's Monster her spell seemed to be a small ball which then hit and exploded with light energy as if a light bomb had erupted.
Lance's Life Points fell but only by one hundred. Lance's Life Points: 3800
"There goes that Fusion Monster!" I said "So whatever it could do it won't be able to now."
"Check again" Lance warned me.
"Nani?" I asked then I watched the dust settled to reveal Lance's Monster as it was still standing and I repeated myself "NANI! But how can that be?!"
Lance answered "First of the Dragons can't be destroyed by any effect Monster, he can only be destroyed by Normal Monsters."
I blushed in embarrassment as it wasn't often that I was completely caught off guard. I mean I was truly embarrassed as I didn't even know this card existed and I should've! My mother taught me everything about all the other cards. I try to hide it as I spoke "So, I can't destroy it by Battle, but while it remains weaker than Michiah I can still do damage to your Life Points, and since Heron Leanne was used as Michaih's Tuner Monster she can attack twice. So Michiah, Maiden of Dawn attack First of Dragons again with Thani!"
Michiah heard and obeyed striking First of the Dragons head on, another explosion erupted but Lance held his cool as his Life Points drop "You're just wasting your attack Lady Kasumi."
Lance's Life Points: 3600
I looked at my hand then calmly spoke still trying to get over my embarrassment "I-I-I-I-I'll set two cards face down turn end."
"It's my move!" Lance told me "I draw!"
Lance drew his card "I activate my own Continuous Trap Card: Dragon's Rage!"
"Nuts!" I muttered knowing exactly what it did but Lance explained it anyway "Now when any of my Dragon-Type Monsters attacks any monster of yours that's in defense mode, they can deliver piercing damage!"
"Then I'll activate one of my Face-Down Cards!" I told him "Shade!"
"Nice!" Hanabi remarked "Now Lady Kasumi can ensure Cleric Mist is safe, as long as she has a stronger monster on her side of the field!"
"Not bad" Lance told me "But once more I'm about to gain another Synchro Monster out, First I summon Lancer Lindwrum!"
Lancer Lindwrum appeared on Lance's side of the field ATK: 1800
"Next" Lance told me "I'll activate the Spell Card: Greedy Dragon! Allowing me to draw two cards for each Level four or below Dragon Type Monster I have on the field."
With this he drew two cards getting four cards in his hand "Next I activate Spell Card: Double Summon! It allows me to Summon one additional Monster to the field and I choose the Influence Dragon Tuner Monster!"
I watch as another Tuner Monster appeared this monster looked like a small blue dragon. Lance then spoke more "I'm going to tune my Level 3 Influence Dragon with my Level four Lancer Lindwrum"
"A level Seven Synchro!" Naruto shouted.
"Correct" Lance told him I watch Influence Dragon split into three rings and scan Lance's Lancer Lindwrum he chants out "Great dragon of speed and wind descend from the skies to protect your comrads...Synchro Summon, Appear now Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
When the light show ended Lance had Synchro Summoned another Dragon Monster and this one really set me off as I knew for sure my mother hadn't told me about this one. I look at it's attack points which were ATK: 2500
"Next" Lance said "I'll activate the Last card in my hand, it's the Field Spell Card: Dragon Kingdom!"
A castle appeared on the field and it was surrounded by Dragons some walking about and others flying. Lance then warned me "Now all Dragon Type Monsters on my side of the field can't be affected by your Monster Effects, Spells or Trap Cards that cause destruction or those cards that reduce Attack Points. Further more only my strongest Dragon Monster can be destroyed by Battle and well let me show you what'll happen. Battle!"
I brace myself as Lance had three Dragons, two Synchros and one Fusion Lance pointed to First of the Dragons "First of the Dragons attack Michiah Maiden of Dawn! Dragon's Rage!"
"are you crazy?!" I demanded "Michiah's stronger! Michiah Counter attack" I watched as Michiah took the attack but Lance's monster wasn't destroyed by it's own effect however he did take some damage. Lance's Life Points: 3400
Lance just smiled "Now Clear-Wing Synchro Dragon...Attack Michiah Maiden of Dawn!"
"That Monster can't defeat her ether!" I told him.
Clear-Wing Synchro Dragon attacked her but she countered however it is then I noticed that Lance didn't take all of the difference.
Lance's Life Points: 3300
I looked at Lance "Those Life Points should be lower than 3300!"
Lance smiled "Indeed but check out your Monster's attack points!"
I looked upward to see Michiah's attack points were now dropped by four hundred 2900-2500
"What just happened?" I asked.
Lance answered "Dragon Kingdom just happened you see, during my Battle Phase if any of my Dragons were weaker than your own since my Field Spell protects them from being destroyed, it reduces your Monster's Attack Points by the damage I take for each attack.
"Oh great" I muttered now seeing Lance's plan sure his monsters were weaker than Michiah's but for each damage her took her Attack Points weakened allowing his Monsters to gain the upper hand on his next turn!
Lance then spoke "And now Ascension Sky Dragon shall attack your Michiah Maiden of Dawn, go Blazing Light!"
I watched as Ascension Sky Dragon took aim and fired and I knew that this attack would certainly damage my Life Points now. Seeing that his Ascension Sky Dragon was at forty-eight hundred attack points! If this attack connected this attack would deal 2300 points of damage to me. As the light draws near I shouted "I activate my Trap Card: Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!"
I activated my Trap Card and it sprung to life intercepting Lance's attack. As the attack was being negated I looked up to Meowth whom looked at Kakashi "Kakashi we have a problem! That vortex is shrinking!"
"And I see ninja coming this way!" Jessie reported.
"Get ready for an attack" Kakashi-Papa ordered.
"Great" I muttered as I thought No pressure! The Sound Ninja are coming to stop us from getting home!
I then spoke to Lance as Scrap-Iron Scarecrow saved me "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow negates one of your Monster's attacks each turn and when it is done, I can set it face-down on the field for later."
Lance smiled "Not bad...However I now have control over you. With your monster weakened just any of my Dragons can finish her off next turn, except for Clear-Wing Synchro Dragon. We'll see how good your fare then."
I nodded thinking He is putting the pressure on me. I studied the field seeing his three Dragons which at the moment seemed to be giant compared to Michiah and Cleric Mist. Lance wasn't going to be a pushover that was certain.
Lance then spoke "Turn end."
I watched the scene not going to give in, this was a moment any Duelist shrived for, being put in a hard position, this is what made you or broke you. I had never been this hard pressed before but instead of being mad I actually smile knowing that this wasn't going to be easy and I wouldn't mind it if Lance was my rival "You may have control of this Duel but I'll find a way to stop you and your mighty Dragons Lance!"
"We'll see if you can do that Lady Signer!" Lance told me "But I doubt you can, but go ahead and try."
I nodded and I qouted Master Yoda from Star Wars "Do or Do not there is no try. It's my move now...I draw"
Can Kasumi defeat Lance or will Lance prove to be too much for her and can Kakashi and the others stop the Vortex from shrinking? Find out next time!

End of Chapter, this chapter is over! Man this was a chapter I've been wanting to get out, Lance vs. Kasumi. I'd like to thank Dragon Knight 15 for suggesting Kasumi needs a rival and I decided it should be Lance. And from what I've written in this chapter, he's really showing he is! Anyway next chapter is Chapter 51: True Duel! Lance vs. Kasumi P2 Lance's Dragon Deck has Lady Kasumi in a bind, Can she possibly beat Lance while Orochimaru's Sound Ninja try to save Azula before he closes the vortex?

Type: Field Spell
Effect: All Dragon Type Monsters on my side of the field can't be affected by your Monster Effects, Spells or Trap Cards. While you have two or more Dragon Type Monsters on your side of the field your opponent can only select your Strongest Dragon Type Monster as an attack Target. During any Player's Battle Phase if one of your Dragon Type Monsters attacks one of your opponent's Monsters or is attacked and it's not the strongest Dragon Type Monster that Dragon Type Monster can't be destroyed by *Battle Battle damage is applied normally* and reduce that Monster's attack points by the difference you just took.
