Chapter 56: Team Signer Duel! Jessie vs. James P2

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, or Avatar the Last Air Bender, or Hades whom is Disney's version of him. I do own Kasumi along with most of her deck which is based off of Fire Emblem female characters and the four Titan Cards.

I stood watching Jessie and James Duel against each other. Things really looked interesting in this Duel. It was James's third turn and he already pulled off an incredible Fusion Monster Summon. At the moment let me remind you on what was going on both sides of the Duel. On Jessie's side of the field she had 3000 Life Points, with no Spells or Trap Cards out thanks to James's clever play now she did have Magical Android out on her field thanks to her Trap Card and it had 2400 attack points. Now on James's side of the field, his Life Points were 2800. On his side of the field was his latest Monster, a Fusion Monster known as Angel Queen of the Black Rose and she had 3000 attack points! Seeing a new Monster like this made me smile. Mom would've loved to see this Monster too.

"Think carefully Jessie!" James said to his opponent "Because my Angel Queen of the Black Rose isn't a Monster you can easily beat!"

"You certainly have the advantage now James!" Jessie admitted "But I'm not totally out yet!"

James wagged a finger "There's more to my new Fusion Monster than meets the eye Jessie!"

"We shall see James!" Jessie told him.

"Turn end" James said confidentially.

"It's my move!" Jessie announced "I draw!"

She drew her card then smirked "Oh James! I have a Monster in my hand whose dying to meet you given a specific condition is met!"

James blinked unsure what she meant "Uh well alright."

She smiled "For this move though I shall set one card face down and end my turn and since I have Magical Android out I'll gain 600 Life Points for each Psychic Type Monster on the field!"

Jessie's Life Points increased by 600. Jessie's Life Points: 3600

"That wasn't good enough Jessie!Then here I go!" James said "I draw!"

He drew his card then points at Jessie "Battle! Angel Queen of the Black Rose attack Magical Android Black Rose Gale!"

Angel Queen of the Black Rose took aim and fired at Jessie's Magical Android. There was an explosion once more as it was destroyed. Jessie's Life Points: 3000

Instead of being mad this seemed to make Jessie laugh causing James to blink "What's so funny?"

Jessie briefly stopped laughing to explain "Only that you fell for what I wanted you to do! You see James I wanted you to destroy my Monster."

"What for?!" James whined.

Jessie answered "For the card I drawn during my last turn to have it's effect activated and it's a Monster card! You see I can't usually summon this card unless my opponent destroys one of my Monsters by battle and I'll show you true terror now! I must pay half of my Life Points in order to Special Summon Divine Serpent Gah!"

Jessie pays half of her Life Points then a huge shadow of a serpent began to form on the field. Jessie's Life Points: 1500

Now this card completely caught me off guard as I had heard of it before as it was used against Yugi Muto during the dreadful Seal of Orichalcos epidemic in his timeframe. The Shadow grew bigger and bigger then revealed itself to be the mighty Divine Serpent Gah! ATK:?

"T-T-T-That's one big snake" Hanabi gulped nervously.

"Could be bigger than Lord Manda...Orochimaru's Summon" Haku admitted "Plus it's much worse!"

"Behold James the Monster of your destruction!" Jessie said.

"Hard to believe it right now when it doesn't show me it's attack points!" James snapped.

He checked his hand "I end my turn."

"It's my move!" Jessie announced "I draw!"

She drew her card "First I summon my Psychic Snail in attack mode!"

A snail appeared on the field ATK: 1900

"Next" Jessie said "I'll activate my Continuous Trap Card: Psychic Tuning!"

Jessie's face-down card activated as she explained the effect "Now I can bring back any Psychic Type Monster in my Graveyard and it's treated as a Tuner Monster! So come back out Magical Android!"

Magical Android reappears on the field ATK: 2400

Jessie then nods "Now witness the big turn around James! I'll tune my Level 5 Magical Android with my Level 4 Psychic Snail!"

Magical Android splits into five rings as it scanned Jessie's Level four Psychic Snail. Jessie chants "Ultimate Psychic energies finally become one ready to pierce defenses. Synchro Summon...Hyper Sonic Blaster!"

Hyper Sonic Blaster arrived on her side of the field ATK: 3000

I watched interested "Impressive move Jessie!"

"How is that impressive?" Naruto asked me "She only has that one big serpent whose attack is a question mark."

Hanabi knew "Naruto...I'm suddenly glad you are watching the Duel with me...Divine Serpent Gah isn't one to take lightly and you're going to be amazed on what Jessie has done."

"All I see is that she halved her Life Points for some stupid snake!"

This set a nerve off in Jessie's head as she berated Naruto "AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SNAKES?!"

"PLENTY!" Naruto shot out at her "I WAS EATEN BY ONE!"

Jessie calmed down "Now James it's time I battle you! Divine Serpent Gah it's time to attack Angel Queen of the Black Rose!"

"Big mistake!" James told her "My Monster has 3000 Attack Points."

Jessie smirked "For now but during my Battle Phase when I attack I can activate my Monster's quick effect! It gains one of your Monster's attack points!"

"Say what?!" James and Naruto demanded.

They watch as Divine Serpent Gah gained all of of Angel Queen of the Black Rose's attack points. ?-3000

"But that's not all!" Jessie told James "There is another effect of Divine Serpent Gah is if he attacks a Monster on your side of the field that Monster's attack points are halved!"

"DOUBLE RATS!" James shouted with Naruto echoing it.

James watches as Angel Queen of the Black Rose's had her attack points halved 3000-1500 "This is gonna hurt."

"Too right!" Jessie proclaims "Now my Divine Serpent Gah finish Angel Queen of the Black Rose off! Divine Oblivion!
The huge serpent roared gathering in a huge dark orb attack and shot it at James's Monster destroying her. James was flung onto his back as the recoil damage got to him "AAAHHHHHHHH!"

James's Life Points: 1300

"That's right James!" Jessie told him "Stay down so my Hyper Sonic Blaster can finish you off!"

"Not gonna happen!" James bravely declared "I activate Angel Queen of the Black Rose's effect, by removing from play 1 Plant type Monster from my Graveyard I can Special Summon her back onto the field and once I do she can destroy the Monster that attacked her! So witness her Thorny Rebirth Vengeance!"

He removed Copy Plant from his Graveyard and Angel Queen of the Black Rose reappears on James's side of the field ATK: 3000

He then blinks as Divine Serpent Gah was standing "What?

Jessie sneered "Like your Monster, Divine Serpent Gah is unaffected by Card Effects that target him."

"Lucky!" James said.

"Turn end" Jessie said.

"It's my move!" James declared "I draw!"

He drew his card "I'll Summon Evil Thorn to the field"

Evil Thorn appeared on James's side of the field ATK: 100

"Next" James declared "I'll activate it's effect, by sending it from my field to the Graveyard I can inflict 300 points of damage to you and Special Summon two more of them!"

Jessie watches as Evil Thorn vanishes but then sent an evil dark shock wave at her. She screams a bit as her Life Points fell Jessie's Life Points: 1200

Then two more Evil Thorns appeared on the field DEF: 100 X2

"Next" James promised "I'll activate the Spell Card: Flagrant Storm! By sending one Plant Type Monster from my field to the Graveyard I can draw two more cards from my deck!"

He choose one of his Evil Thorns sending it to his Graveyard and was able to draw two more cards "I'll set one card face-down and end my turn!"

"It's my move!" Jessie announced "I draw!"

She drew her card then points at James "Time to end this! Battle! Hyper Sonic Blaster attack his Evil Thorn!"

James blinked "Hugh? How's that going to finish me off?"

Jessie smirks "If Hyper Sonic Blaster attacks a Monster in defense mode it delivers piercing damage...And when it delivers damage, all that difference go into my Life Points as Life Point recovery!"

Hyper Sonic Blaster took aim at James's Evil Thorn preparing to deliver the fatal blow and fired but James was ready "I activate my Counter Trap Card: Negate Attack!"

James's face-down activated as he explained the effect "Thanks to this Card, your attack is negated and it ends your Battle Phase!"

Jessie grunts "Lucky! I'll set one card face-down and end my turn then!"

"It's my move!" James declared "I draw!"

He drew his card then saw that he had a move to destroy Divine Serpent Gah "I activate the Equip Spell Card: Vile Germs! It can only be equipped to a Plant Type Monster and gives my Monster 300 more attack points!"

Jessie watches as James's Monster gained 300 more attack points. 3000-3300

"Next Battle!" James declared "It's time to take that Divine Serpent Gah down before it can truly be a terror to me, Angel Queen of the Black Rose attack Divine Serpent Gah with Black Rose Gale!"

Jessie gasps remembering that Divine Serpent Gah's effect to half an opponent Monster's attack Points was only during her Battle Phase. Sure her monster was immune to Card Effects but it could be destroyed by battle "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

She watches as James's Monster attacked using Black Rose Dragon's attack destroying her best Monster "DIVINE SERPENT GAH! HOW COULD I LET JAMES DESTROY YOU?!"

She growls frustrated that he was able to destroy her Monster just like that. Jessie's Life Points: 900

James smiled "Not so easy to defeat me is it Jessie?"

"You got off extremely lucky James!" Jessie berated him "It's my move, I draw!"

She drew her card "I activate my Trap Card: Assault Mode Activate!"

Her Trap Card activated "Now I can send my Hyper Sonic Blaster from my field to the Graveyard in order to Special Summon, Hyper Sonic Blaster Assault Mode from my deck!"

James watches calmly as Jessie brought out her stronger Hyper Sonic Blaster but in it's assault mode. ATK: 3500

Jessie points at James's Monster "You'll bring back your Monster but I'll activate the Equip Spell Card: Protective Armor! It protects my Monster from being destroyed by Card Effects of it's destroyed monster!"

She points out at James's Monster "Battle, Hyper Sonic Blaster Assault Mode, attack Angel Queen of the Black Rose! Assault Duel Blast!"

Jessie's Monster took aim with it's twin blasters and shot them out at James's Monster. James thinks quickly "I activate Angel Queen of the Black Rose's effect I'll remove one of my Evil Thorns from my Graveyard to prevent my Monster's destruction!"

Jessie watches as her attack hits James's Monster James's Life Points fall but due to him removing from play an Evil Thorn and his Monster was spared. James's Life Points: 1100

She looked at him "I'll win this! I just will!"

"We shall see!" James warned her.

She smirks "I end my turn!"

"It's my move, I draw!" James drew his card checking out his drawn card and saw it was Mystic Tomato "I'll activate the Spell Card: Swords of Revealing Light!"

Three swords came down from the sky as James spoke "Now all Monsters on your side of the field can't attack for three whole turns!"

"Desperate Move James if I ever saw one!" Jessie berated him "But it gives me time to truly get more monsters out on my side of the field then clobber you!"

James looks at her thinking That's what she thinks I'm still in this game! If I can get any card that can increase my Fusion Monster's attack points by five hundred and one particular Trap Card, I can win this. Swords of Revealing Light, gives me time to focus on getting those cards. I gotta hope she has nothing to stop my Swords of Revealing Light until I've gotten at least two cards.

He looks at her "I'll end my turn."

"It's my move!" Jessie announced "I draw!"

She drew her card "Sweet! I activate the Spell Card: Monster Reborn to bring back Magical Android!"

Magical Android soon appeared on Jessie's side of the field ATK: 2400

She checked her hand "Then just so you can't destroy it just yet, I'll set one card face-down and end my turn."

She then smirked "Then as I do end my turn I'll gain six hundred Life Points for each Psychic Type Monster on my side of the field! So I have two!"

Her Life Points increased by twelve hundred! Jessie's Life Points: 2100

"It's my move!" James announced "I draw!"

He drew his card and checked it and thought One of the cards I need is in my hand!

He looks at Jessie "Battle! Angel Queen of the Black Rose attack her Magical Android!"

"Nope not gonna happen James!" Jessie berates him "I'll activate the Counter Trap card, Negate Attack! Just like your Negate Attack Trap card did to me your attack is negated and it ends your Battle Phase!"

James just smirked "All part of my plan to get you to use it up Jessie, turn end."

"It's my move!" Jessie announced "I draw!"

She drew her card "You aren't the only one with Polymerization James, I'll activate my own Spell card: Polymerization!"

"WHAT?!" James demanded "What can you be up to Jessie?"

Jessie smirks "You're defeat James! I'll use Polymerization to fuse my Magical Android on the field with my Psychic Commander in my hand!"

The two Monsters began to fuse together with Jessie chanting out "Ultimate Psychic Powers will come and fuse together when two Psychics merge to become one overpowered enity! Fusion Summon level 10, Ultimate Axon Kicker!"

Ultimate Axon Kicker appears on Jessie's side of the field ATK: 2900

"My Fusion Monster is can't be destroyed by card effects and when it attacks a Monster in defense mode, it can inflict piercing damage! Then after it destroys your Monster, I'll gain Life Points equal to it's defense points...The only thing stopping me from downright destroying you right now James is your Swords of Revealing Light Spell Card! So I'll activate the equip Spell Card: United We Stand equipping it to my Fusion Monster! It'll give it 800 more attack Points per monster on my side of the field!"

James gulps a bit seeing Jessie's Monster gain 1600 more attack points "Great..."

2900-4500

"Turn end" Jessie said she watches him knowing she had a huge advantage believing she had won this Duel.

"It's my move!" James announced "I draw!"

He drew his card gaining another Trap Card with him nodding "I'll set two cards face down and end my turn."

"It's my move, I draw!" Jessie announced.

She drew her card gaining another Monster card and grinned thinking Oh I got Kuriboh! If James foolishly attacks me I can use his effect to make my Battle damage zero then after his Swords of Revealing Light ends on his third turn after it's activation I can end it! She looks at James "I end my turn!"

"It's my move!" James announced "I draw!"

He drew his card and then grinned "It's time I end this duel Jessie in this turn!"

"Hard to believe it!" Jessie said looking at her hand "I have two Monsters that your Monster can't touch."

"But I can!" James declared "First I'll activate the Equip Spell Card: Axe of Despair! I'll be giving it to Angel Queen of the Black Rose!"

A huge Axe appeared in Angel Queen of the Black Rose's hands as James spoke "It'll give her 1000 more attack points!"

I watched this happen interested in James's plan 3300-4300

"It's strong enough to defeat my Hyper Sonic Blaster Assault Mode!" Jessie proclaimed.

"Correct" James said "But I'm not going to be satisfied with just destroying it!"

Jessie blinks as James pointed at Ultimate Axon Kicker "That's the Monster I'm going to be taking down, so prepare for Trouble Jessie and you certainly going to have to make it Double!"

Jessie smirked "Bring it on! Your Monster will be destroyed!"

"I shall then" James said grinning "Battle! Angel Queen of the Black Rose, attack Ultimate Axon Kicker, Black Rose Gale!"

James's Monster started to build up the attack as Jessie smirked "Counter attack Ultimate Axon Kicker!"

It gathers in it's attack but James spoke "We'll see whose weaker! I activate one of my Trap Cards, a Continuous one known as Plant Food Chain!"

One of James's face-down cards activated and James explained the effect "Now I can select 1 Plant Monster and it gains 500 attack points!"

"NUTS!" Jessie shouts alarmed "That means!"

James smiled "Yep! My Monster is the one that's stronger now!"

Jessie watches as James's Monster powered up more thanks to his Trap Card. 4300-4800

The two Monsters have their attacks collide but at this point it was clear to say James's strategy pulled off as his Monster's attack overpowered Jessie's sending it's attack towards her Monster destroying it.

"NO WAY!" Jessie berated "He was my best card!"

Jessie's Life Points: 1800

"It's about to get worse!" James said "Now I activate my other Trap Card: Blossom Bombardment!"

Jessie blinks as James's second Trap Card was revealed "NUTS!" she shouts knowing what this did.

James nodded "Now when a Plant Type Monster destroys one of your Monsters, this card will inflict damage to you equal to the destroyed Monster's attack points!"

Jessie watches as James's Trap Card unleashed it's effect upon her and fully depute her Life Points to zero.

James's Life Points: 1100

Jessie's Life Points: 0

"YES!" Naruto shouts "JAMES DID IT! THANK YOU JAMES!"

Jessie looked shocked "How could've I lost to James?!"

Lance answers her " Your deck is a mix deck of Reptiles and Psychics, that limits the support you can use for your Monsters. James's deck is a full Plant Type Deck which because he has one type of Monster, allows his support cards to help him out better. Plus higher attack points doesn't always lead to a win...Although that does help."

She looks at him questionably as I explained more "What Lance is trying to say is you do have some good cards but high attack points won't always lead to a win if your cards are lacking support. Now your deck does have cards that help your types but when you have to focus on two types of Monsters that does limit how much you can do for those types. Since James's deck is all Plant Types it was easier for him to find support cards for his deck...However your deck Jessie can overpower even the most strongest Duelist with the right hand but it will struggle against opponents that have cards that support their decks a bit better. I will say this Divine Serpent Gah isn't an easy thing to handle as James made it look to be."

She smiled "Oh."

"You and James did well but the winner of this Duel is James!"

It took a while for this to hit James fully he looks at Meowth "Did that really just happen Meowth or am I dreaming?"

Meowth looked at him "Want me to scratch you awake?"

"NO!" James shouted "No more scratching the face!"

Meowth smiled "Then believe it James, you beat Jessie in a Duel!"

"YES!" James shouted as he fully got it "I finally was able to defeat Jessie in something!"

Jessie looked at him "Beginners luck James! One day we'll Duel again, this time you take the win but next time I will if we ever duel each other again."

"We'll see now won't we?" James asked her.

Haku turned to me "Well that was one exciting Duel."

"It was" I said, I turned to Hanabi and Naruto "I hope you two were watching the whole thing."

"You can trust me Lady Kasumi" Hanabi told me "I watched it but..."

"YES! YES! YES!" Naruto shouted over James "YOU BEAT JESSIE! YOU BROKE THE TREND!"

"But Naruto..." Hanabi muttered to me as I glared at my older brother "Might've forgotten..."

Naruto ran about celebrating with James "I can't believe you beat her James! But I'm glad you did!"

James looked at him "Thanks but it wasn't easy to overpower Jessie like that."

"Well you beat her and you should feel happy and-"

At my unannounced command Takara and Snowflake attacked him with ether Flamethrower or Ice Beam. Once more his body was half way frozen and half way burned...Sadly his upper body was the one that was burnt but his lower body was frozen...He collapses then looked at my two pets "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

I looked at him "Did you learn from watching that Duel?"

"I did why?" Naruto asked me.

I sighed as I turned to Team Signer "James and Jessie your next opponents sometime in the future are going to be both Naruto here and Hanabi. They'll be your first ever Tag Duel opponents."

"Right now?" Meowth asked me.

I shook my head "Nope not right now for we gotta move on and prepare for more battles with Azula and Sasuke.

Kakashi-Papa had been covering his eyes for the remaining part of the Duel and I caught onto him doing this, I leaned closer to him wondering what he was looking at "What were you looking at Kakashi-Papa?"

Kakashi-Papa answered me "The Duel was quite well done between those two, but towards the end I could've sworn I saw someone with Black hair standing in a tree watching the Duel from a good safe distance away from here."

"In which direction?" I asked.

Kakashi-Papa pointed and I followed the point then gasped, it was far out of our area, but right in the direction of Princess Azula or where she had been forced to retreat. It was then I noticed that the Haku that had been watching the Duel was an Ice Shadow Clone of him "Where is the real Haku?"

As if on cue the real Haku leaps down "Kakashi-sensei wasn't the only one noticing whom it was noticing that person. I saw him too. So once Kakashi-Sensei and I noticed it, I volunteered to scout ahead to see whom it could be and sadly...It was Sasuke."

"SASUKE WAS SPYING ON US?!" Naruto asked.

Haku nodded "Yes, he was."

Naruto made a fist "Then I'm going to go see him right now and give him a piece of my mind!"

Before he could make good on his promise to go after Sasuke I had already cast my Shadow Possession Jutsu on him to make sure he wasn't going anywhere. He tries to overpower it "What gives? HEY SIS WHY ARE YOU HOLDING ME BACK?"

I looked at him "He's not there anymore."

Kakashi-Papa agreed "Yes, he left as soon as the winner was shown. If it was Sasuke he's long gone now...Haku did you get a good look at what he had on his arm?"

Haku nodded "He had a Duel Disk!"

Naruto blinked "Duel Disk?"

Haku shook his head yes "Not sure why he had a Duel Disk on, but that could mean, he's plotting to Duel one of us soon."

Naruto growls "Oh, he's going to Duel someone alright me!"

"CALM DOWN!" I warned Naruto "Or I'll use my Shadow Strangulation Jutsu on you to to knock you out!"

Naruto looked at me as if I was fibbing or bluffing. Sadly I wasn't and raised my hand and my shadow holding him back raised it's hand towards his throat as I spoke out a warning "I won't have you Naruto running off to confront Sasuke like that. He might be trying to lure us into a trap and we can't have ourselves running into a trap. Now you can ether calm yourself down or I can and will strangle you till you are knocked out...Your call."

Naruto gulped never seeing me this serious about this matter "I'll calm down sis! No need to strangle me!"

I recalled the shadow "Haku!"

"Yes, Lady Kasumi?"

"I know my mother asked you to keep an eye on me to protect me but try to keep an eye on Naruto here, we can't have him wander off to find Sasuke."

"Count on it!"

"I can help track him down" Toph offered "If he tries to move I'll know...Then I'll knock him out with a boulder to the face."

"Thanks Toph" I told her.

Naruto sighed as I looked at him "I know you feel as if Sasuke is your responsibility to bring back to the Leaf Village and I won't stop you like this normally but this time it's not only about you and Sasuke or me and Sasuke, but it also is Aang's best interest to avoid Sasuke at all costs."

Naruto then got where I was getting towards "Oh, yeah! Sasuke would murder Aang given the chance."

"Exactly" I told him "So...Please don't go after Sasuke. We'll need you around to help protect Aang more than ever when he's with Azula."

Naruto agreed "But if Sasuke wants to Duel one of us and I happen to come across him by accident, can I?"

I nodded "If that happens then yes, but you can't go looking for him."

"I won't then" Naruto said.

"Alright then" I said fully retreating my shadow.

I sighed angrily Sasuke was going to be a big time problem moving forward if he was a Duelist. I could only hope that Sasuke didn't have anything dangerous in his deck but something told me that wasn't the case.

Shorter than most chapters but it got done with the Team Signer Duel and introduced Sasuke as a much more serious threat. Anyway next chapter is Chapter 57: Dueling Vengeance P1 Sasuke vs. Hanabi: Determined to capture both Aang and Kasumi, Sasuke goes on a mission appointed to him by Azula to capture the two, but first he has to deal with their friends and the first victim he must get rid of temporarily is Hanabi, will his plan to capture the Lady Signer and Aang go wrong or will his dueling skills be too much for Hanabi?
