Here's chapter 11, hope you enjoy! I do not own Stranger Things. Sorry for the late update!
Just a disclaimer there are one or two theories for Stranger Things lore that I kind of think would be really cool but totally doubt are true. So this is me saying "What if?" for one of those theories!
Petal
She shivered hard, she was freezing. She sat crouched in the far corner of a broken and bare bed. Her wrists were chained to the headboard; her hair hung in greasy strands around her face as she yanked at them feebly. It had been days. She'd yelled and cried until she was hoarse for the first few hours. Then she'd tried her best to yank her hands from her restraints, blood had eventually slickened her bindings but still she couldn't get out. She'd slammed her feet against the headboard but it was the only thing in the room that seemed to be sturdy. She hadn't seen Billy since she'd awoken in the room two days ago. The smell of rot had slowly begun to invade her brain, the sound of the monsters were slowly but surely numbing her further. Her wrists throbbed as she gave up for the 10th time. Blood had stained her skin and she felt light headed. She couldn't see her throat, no mirror near her was intact, but she could see the crimson stain on her shoulder below where she'd been bitten. Her stomach rolled as she tried sitting up.
She heard a noise in the next room, something crashing to the floor and breaking. She leans her head back against the wall, keeping it up was too tiring now. "Pet! I'm back" Billy's voice rang through and she tried her best to put a smile on her face...he could let her go if he thought she'd stay... Her smile feels more like a grimace as he enters the room. She sees him more clearly now. He's wearing a tattered black leather jacket over his bare torso, his chest and sides had harsh ugly stitching, holding his bloody skin together. His jeans were also bloody, and his dark biker boots looked like they'd seen better days. He jumps onto the bed, cigarette clenched between his teeth and smiles at her. "Miss me?"
"I did...where were you?" She whispers, her voice sounding more like a croak than anything else. He lights the cigarette, leaning on one elbow before looking at her again, his tongue licking his sharpened teeth. "Work Pet, nothing to worry about." He takes a long drag before blowing out the smoke with a tranquil look she didn't expect.
"Can...can you take these off Billy?" She whispers, nodding at the cuffs on her bloody wrists. He looks at her suspiciously, thoughtfully looking at the smoking stick in his fingers. "Will you run?"
"No...is there even anywhere to run?" She croaks looking at him desperately. He grunts in response, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small key. He released the latches of the cuffs and frees her slightly mangled wrists. "Shit" He takes her hands and gives her a frustrated look "Tried to get out didn't you Pet?"
"I wasn't-"
"No Pet." His blue eyes flickered dangerously in the light of his smoke. "You're here for good don't you get that?" He throws the half smoked stick across the room and lunges for her, pinning her against the wall. "You are all that I have now. I'm not letting you out Pet. You'll just have to remember your promise for me gorgeous" She pushes at his chest weakly, unable to move him at all. Her head spun as he lowered his lips to her throat, his hot tongue licking up the side of it, coming away slightly red from the dried blood there. "I missed you so much Pet."
"I missed you too" She whispers, desperately praying to god that he didn't sink his teeth into her already torn flesh.
He peppers open mouthed kisses all over her wounded throat, his lips slowly becoming bloody. "It's too bad you had left...think of the time we could have had Pet" His smirk was predatory, his eyes shining with a demented glee that put a lump in her throat. He suddenly loses his smile, staring into her eyes running a hand tenderly down her cheek, leaving a streak of gore behind. "Things weren't so bad when you were there" He whispers "I remember...he was worse...was worse after you left" He pulls her body flush with his, her stomach rolled again.
"I'm sorry Billy, I should have called...I should have kept in touch better" She whispers, finally seeing just an inch of the boy she'd known not so long ago.
He shakes his head like a dog trying to rid its ears of water, his matted hair slowly coming loose from itself. "It doesn't matter anymore. We're safe now" His teeth gleamed white in the low light of the room. "Nothing can hurt us anymore." The cacophony of beasts outside said otherwise as Billy gathered her up in his arms, still running his tongue along the dried blood.
She hadn't expected sleep to take her so well in her new surroundings, but when her eyelids closed she found herself having the most vivid of dreams...odd ones. She was still in her loose sweatpants ad one of Eddie's band t-shirts...she was still bloody, and her wrists were still cut up something awful...but she didn't feel like she'd keel over any second. She also...she was also no longer i the upside down. The first time she'd fallen asleep, she'd found herself back at school.
She walked down the halls of Hawkins high, and though the crowds were bustling, not a soul looked at her. The longer it went on...the more and more mad she seemed to go. No one could see her. No one could hear her. She'd tried to touch someone, but her hand passed through them like they were ghosts...or she was. After what felt like hours of walking through the school, calling for help, reaching out to literally anyone, finally someone looked at her. She'd all but given up as she passed her cousin yet again in the hall. She'd been walking past, wondering just how long it would be until she awoke when she heard a gasp. She whirled around and saw Jason looking at the girl under his arm with concern.
"What?" He asks Chrissy as she gives Petal a look of utter horror. "Oh god..." She whispers
"What?" Jason looks around the hall incredulously
"I..." She shifts her gaze from Petal and back to Jason then back to Petal"
"Help!" Petal finally whispers, getting over her shock and reaching out to the other red head, her wrists still sticky with blood, then the real world went black.
The next time she'd fallen asleep she'd found herself in yet another familiar place.
The trailer park was dead silent, the night air was bustling with the sounds of new crickets as she stepped through the gravel road. She made her way to the only trailer she'd seen the inside of. She went to smack on the door, begging for Eddie to see her but her hand flew straight through as though it. She let out a gasp but quickly got over it. She stepped through the door and into the living room to find Eddie sitting on the couch, hunched over his knees with his face in his hands. "Eddie" Her voice feels hoarse even here but he doesn't hear her...she thinks. He looks up, almost at her...but through her.
"Fuck" He runs a hand through his hair, his rings getting caught at the end. She kneels on the floor of the trailer, staring at him. Drinking him in...she was happy he was safe...Petal stayed there, watching him in his worries. She could tell he was completely in his head...she didn't know how long she sat there with him, her heart aching as he went from his quiet worries to the pacing...to the manic way he tried to keep himself busy. Soon she could no longer stand watching Eddie, so she left the trailer, she was walking away from it when she spotted Max. She was taking out the trash. Petal almost ignored her but then she saw that Max had stopped. She had seen her. "Max?"
Max had stopped, looking at her in horror. Petal made a run for Max, tears coming to her eyes once again "Help! I'm-" and the world went black once more.
Dustin
Steve had insisted on checking on the rest of the party before they went Carver hunting. Lucas and Mike had both been home and had missed the news broadcast concerning the basketball player. Both had also insisted on coming for the hunt. It was only when they got to Max's trailer that the situation started to thicken. They knocked on the door, it was answered not by Max, but by her drunken mother. "Yes?" She slurred, leaning on the door for support.
"Hi ma'am...is Max home?" Dustin asks, cringing from the smell of whiskey wafting off of the woman.
"Oh she's at her little friends house" She slurs again, pointing to Eddie Munson's trailer just across the way. She slams the door in their faces and Steve can't help but sigh as he turned to Munson's trailer. The only vehicle there was the van so he knew he must have been home. But when he knocked on the door no one answered for a long stretch. It was only after Steve had pounded on the door three more times that it finally opened. Max appeared behind the door with wide eyes and pale skin. "Steve?! What are you-"
"What am I? It's 10 am, why are you with Munson?" He asks incredulously
"It's...I just like hanging out with him" She says quickly, her eyes darting around nervously.
"Max...what's going on?" Robin questions from the back of the group, Max paled further if it were possible. Suddenly, the door was wrenched from Max's tight grip to reveal Eddie looking haggard. "Well...hello everyone...why are we all here?" He looks from each person suspiciously
"We're here to check on Max." Steve said coldly, giving Eddie a suspicious look right back. "Why do you have a 14 year old in your trailer Munson?"
"Probably a similar reason you hang out with three." He mutters through gritted teeth. "Why don't you tell me?" Steve raises an eyebrow at the metalhead.
Max suddenly pushes herself in between the two older men. "Stop it. He's not being weird Steve...it's my fault" She ends in a whisper before looking back at Eddie "I don't think they'll believe me" She whispers
"Believe what? Have you seen Carver?" Dustin asks suddenly "If you've seen him we need to call the cops! He killed Chrissy and he probably-"
"Carver did what?!" Eddie looks down at the younger red head "How'd she die?"
Steve let out a puff of air in annoyance "Real rough, legs and arms broken, broken jaw, eyes gouged...nasty." He felt Robin shudder behind him but what truly caught his attention was Max. She'd frozen, staring at him in utter horror.
"Max?" She began to back away, grabbing onto Eddie's sleeve "She's there." she whispers, tears springing from her eyes.
The entire party turned but saw nothing but the empty trailerpark. When they turned back Eddie had gently pressed her face into his side, blocking her view of whatever had scared her. "Get inside." Eddie muttered, stepping out of the doorway and pulling Max with him. Dustin and Lucas didn't hesitate, leading the way into the messy trailer's living room. "Find a seat...this could take a minute." Steve was the last to enter, looking around the trailer park as if he'd find a reason to not go in. But of course he found none as he could now hear Max's broken yet muted sobs from inside. As he enters he sees the metalhead hugging the girl tightly with a grimace on his face. "Breathe red. Breathe. We've gotta tell them ok?"
"They won't believe me!" She whispers, Steve feels his stomach twist as he hears her panic. "We will Max. Just tell us" He leans against the now shut door to the trailer and gives her peeking eyes what he hopes is a smile of encouragement. Eddie looks down at her still teary expression and groans. "Alright. I'm going to start." He pushes Max onto the couch beside Dustin who she lays her head on tiredly, tears still leaking down her cheeks.
Eddie nervously pats at his jeans, pulling his lighter out and flicking it idly as he began."Ok...so...so don't interrupt. There's shit you don't know about Hawkins Indiana"
The group at large looks at him worriedly, wondering just how much he knew about the last few years. Eddie continues flicking the lighter as he goes on "Shit's able to get through more easily here and sometimes...sometimes it gets in your head." Steve is now wringing his hands, Robin is chewing her lip so hard that it begins to bleed slowly. "It's gotten in Max's and she's been having visions of the other side. It's a shitty hell dimension full of-"
"Demogorgons." Dustin's voice rings through the silence and Eddie looks at him like he's lost his mind. "Did...did you name them after D&D?!" He looks at Steve for confirmation and he gets his answer from the resigned look from him. "Fuck." He sets his lighter on the kitchen counter behind him as he takes a deep breath. "So...how many of you have seen something...hellish?" He looks as the room at large all raises their hand sheepishly.
"Shit." He runs a ringed hand through his hair, the pig ring briefly getting caught. "Ok, so there's this...this lab that was around here years ago...I don't know if it got shut down or not-"
"How do you know about that?!" Mike nearly shouts, pulling another exasperated sigh from Eddie. "Because I've been there Wheeler. I'm going to guess you know about it then." He glares at the room full of nodding teens. "Well fucking years ago there was this mother fucker...001. He went mental...killed pretty much everyone in the rainbow room...I...I almost died too. He...he got distracted near the end...I saw the opportunity and I ran. I got out and ran through the woods. I ran till I got to this lake...where an older guy was fishing. He took me in, fed me...listened to the story...and he hid me. He paid some shady dick to get me some papers...and he named me Eddie..." He grins slightly "He named me Eddie because of Iron Maiden...the mascot for them is named Eddie..." He looks around the look, finally having pulled faces of shock from the group. "Finally" he mutters before going on "I uh...I don't remember everything from there...but I know that the other place...it gets stuck in your head...like...like being possessed. That's what's happening with Max. She's been seeing the other world...and she thinks that's where Petal is." He sniffs slightly and looks up at their still stunned expressions. Finally after a few seconds of complete silence Dustin looks at him "You were there...like...in the lab?" He's almost whispering at the thought.
"Yep...they fucking sucked at the whole naming thing...so they numbered us." Eddie yanks up his leather jacket sleeve to reveal the watch he wore religiously on his left wrist. He yanks at the fastenings until it falls away, revealing a very small black tattoo. 010
