Korra Rewritten
Chapter 1
"The Legend Begins"
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills were great, he had a lot to learn before he was ready to save anyone. But I believed Aang could save the world, and thankfully he did. After a long fought battle, Aang was able to successfully defeat Fire Lord Ozai, and finally put an end to the Hundred Year War. Aang and his friends did everything they could to undo the damage the Fire Nation had done to the world after the war ended. The Four Nations were able to fully recover from the Hundred Year War, and the world would enter a new peaceful and prosperous age. Avatar Aang had accomplished so many great and remarkable things during his life, but unfortunately, his time in this world would eventually come to an end, but like the cycle of the seasons, the cycle of the Avatar had begun anew.
After Aang sadly passed away, the White Lotus immediately began to search for the next Avatar, since they knew that the next Avatar would be a Waterbender, they decided to search throughout the Northern and Southern Water Tribes to find the Avatar, the White Lotus would continuously search for the next Avatar for 5 years, but with pretty much no luck once so ever. However, one day, they were called by two people who were claiming that they were the parents of a little girl who could potentially be the next Avatar. Soon afterwards, the White Lotus quickly set off to the village in the Southern Water Tribe where they would hopefully finally have their search for the Avatar come to an end.
Tonraq: Welcome, it is such an honor to have the prestigious Order of the White Lotus in our home
White Lotus Guy #1: Let's just get straight to business, we have met many people who claimed to be or have the next Avatar in possession, all of these claims have unfortunately proven to be false, so please tell us, what makes you so confident that your child is actually the next Avatar?
Senna: Well you see, over the past few months, me and my husband Tonraq have noticed and seen that our daughter has a natural affinity for the spirits
White Lotus Guy #1: wow!, with your daughter having a gift like that, she just might be the person who we've been searching for all along
White Lotus Guy #3: May I ask if it's possible that we can meet and speak with your daughter?
Tonraq: Sure, it would be our pleasure
Tonraq and Senna then took the White Lotus members over to where Korra's room supposedly was before Senna began knocking on the door
Senna: Korra?, could you come out here please?, there's some people here who wish to see you
Ultimately they didn't hear any response from the other side, Senna kept knocking on the door before ultimately deciding to just open it anyway
Senna: K-Korra?, w-what are you doing?
She noticed that Korra seemed to had just be weirdly playing with the air, but was even weirder was that Korra had been acting like there was some type of living being right there, that was until Korra had finally noticed all of the people staring at her, Korra then got startled and ran away under her bed in fear and embarrassment.
White Lotus Guy #1: I believe I know what just happened, Korra clearly was playing a spirit of some kind, she's just the only one who can see it due to the affinity for spirituality that she has
The White Lotus members then moved closer towards the bed that Korra was hiding under.
White Lotus Guy #2: Hello there Korra, you're parents have invited us here because they told us that you just might be the Avatar
They heard the sound of whimpering coming from under the bed, it was very obvious at this point that Korra was terrified of them
White Lotus Guy #1: I can clearly tell that you're nervous young child, please don't worry, we aren't going to hurt you, please, we just wanted to see you
After what seemed like a few minutes, Korra then finally responded.
Korra: H-Hi *she says in a scared sounding voice*
White Lotus Guy #1: Hello Korra
Korra then started to tear up a little and began whimpering again
Korra: I-I'm sorry!, I-It's just that, I'm just so weird!
White Lotus Guy #1: Weird? How on earth are you weird?
Korra: I-I can talk to these magical creatures, but nobody else can see them, s-so I just think that everyone will find me to be insane or something like that!, I-I'm so scared of people, I-I'm so terrified of the world around me!
White Lotus Guy #1: Korra, there's absolutely nothing weird about the ability you possess, what you possess is an extremely rare gift, the gift to communicate with the spirits of the Spirit World, most people spend their entire lives in order to achieve a gift like this, you should feel proud of this gift, not fear or embarrassment.
Korra then went quiet, before Tonraq broke the silence between everyone
Tonraq: Korra, you are not weird in the slightest, you just happen to have an extremely rare ability that is highly sought after, I'm sorry if I or you're mother have made it out to be as if it's overly strange, we just haven't ever seen something like this before, I can assure you however that whether you had this ability or not, we will always love you, no matter what.
Korra then gave everyone a nice smile before running over to her Mom and Dad
Korra: Thank you so much Dad, I love both of you so much
Tonraq and Senna: We love you too Korra
White Lotus Guy #2: Korra?
Korra then looked over towards the White Lotus member
White Lotus Guy #2: We have heard from your parents that you are a bender, might it be possible if we can see you perform some of the bending tactics that you currently know
Korra: O-Ok
She then ran outside of the house and everyone ran after her, Korra then told everyone to stand back and watch her before she proceeded to perform the only Waterbending moves that she had known at that point.
White Lotus Guy #2: Nice job Korra, are there any other bending moves that you know that you would like to show us?
Korra: No, sadly I only know a few basic Waterbending moves
White Lotus Guy #2: Oh, well then, would you mind if me and the other White Lotus members could discuss something with your parents in private?
Korra then nodded her head before everyone except her went inside.
White Lotus Guy #3: Well I must say, out of all the people that we've tested to see if they were of the Avatar status, you're daughter is by far the closest we have seen to potentially being of that status so far
White Lotus Guy #1: She is very powerful spiritually, and even though she currently only knows a few basic Waterbending tactics, she could definitely become a grand Waterbending Master some day if she was given a lot more training
White Lotus Guy #2: I think there is one thing that we must do now, the ultimate way to fully prove that she is the Avatar, um Tonraq and Senna, in order for this next test to be conducted on Korra, we will now take her to place where we can fully be able to see if she's the Avatar, would you mind if you and her could come with us?
Senna: We would be glad to
White Lotus Guy #2: Very well then, we shall depart early in the morning
Korra was both very excited and very nervous at the same time, on one hand, she was happy that there were now a couple of people who could accept her for the ability that she had, on the other hand, she was worried about the prospect of disappointing everyone if it turned out that she wasn't the Avatar.
Korra: M-Mom?
Senna: Yes Korra?
Korra: I'm worried, what if I'm not the Avatar that they've been looking for? What if I end up disappointing everyone?
Senna: Korra, even if you don't turn out to be the Avatar, I nor your father would be disappointed with you in the slightest, your our daughter, and we will love you no matter what
Korra: T-Thank you so much Mom
Senna: No problem Korra
White Lotus Guy #3: Korra, I couldn't help but hear what you just said, I must say, even if you aren't the Avatar, I and the other members of the White Lotus will gladly take you to someone who would be glad to take you as her student for Waterbending training
Korra: Thank you!, Thank you all for being so nice to me
White Lotus Guy #3: No problem, now you should get some sleep, we're all leaving very early tomorrow after all
Korra: Ok
Korra then ran to her bed and started talking to herself with nobody else around.
Korra: Tomorrow is going to be the most important day of my whole life, I can't mess this up, I can't fail at any costs, the whole world is counting on me
Afterwards, Korra then went to sleep, fully determined to prove to everyone that she was the Avatar who everyone was looking for.
The next morning, the White Lotus took Korra and her parents to a weird location that they had never heard of before, it was a place in which contained a room that had thousands of toys lying on the inside, the White Lotus members then explained to Tonraq and Senna that if Korra comes out of that room with four specific toys that had belonged to the previous Avatar, then they'll know for sure that she is the next Avatar.
Tonraq: So uh, what is the purpose of this room?, how will it prove that my daughter is the next Avatar exactly?
White Lotus Guy #3: This room is our method of proving whether she'll be the Avatar or not, inside this room lies over a thousand toys, if Korra comes out of that room with the same four toys that were chosen by the previous Avatars, it'll fully prove to us that she is the next Avatar
Tonraq: Well, ok then I guess
White Lotus Guy #2: All we have to do now is just wait
After everyone waited for about over an hour outside, Korra finally exited the room with four toys in her hands.
White Lotus Guy #1: Finally you're done, it's nice to see that you've finally found four toys that you really liked, now, may I see which ones you've chosen?
Korra: Sure
After observing the four toys that Korra chose, the White Lotus were stunned and were in a state of complete and utter shock.
White Lotus Guy #1: T-There's no way!, t-these are- *gets cut off*
White Lotus Guy #2: The same toys that were selected by the previous Avatars, Aang and Roku!
White Lotus Guy #3: Then that means-
White Lotus Guy #2: That means that this child, Korra, is the world's new Avatar!
Everyone in the room gasped almost immediately, but they quickly calmed down, before then proceeding to bow down in front of the person who would be they're new Avatar.
White Lotus Guy #3: Well Korra, now that we know for sure that you're the Avatar, I must ask, do you remember how I said that I and the other White Lotus members can take you to someone who would be happy to take you in as her student?
Korra: Yeah?
White Lotus Guy #3: Well, the person who I was referring to is where you will be taken to learn Waterbending
Korra: Really?!, b-but who is this person?
White Lotus Guy #3: This person's name is Katara, the widow of the previous Avatar that came before you, Avatar Aang, Katara is the strongest, most powerful, and most wise Waterbender that you'll ever meet, so she is obviously the perfect person to be your teacher
Korra: Wow, that sounds so exciting!, I can't wait to meet Katara!
White Lotus Guy #3: That's great to hear Korra, come on now, we're now leaving to the White Lotus compound, for that is where she's currently waiting for you
Korra: Ok!, Let's go!
After traveling for a few hours, the gang finally made it to the White Lotus compound
White Lotus Guy #1: Alright Korra, Katara is currently waiting for you inside of this building, Let's go in and finally introduce you to her shall we?
Korra: Ok
Both of them entered the room, where they were met with a much older looking woman who was looking at them and an older looking man who was sleeping on the couch
Katara: Why hello there young one, *she says while looking mainly towards Korra* Who are you?
Korra: I-I'm Korra, are you Katara?
Katara: Yes Korra, my name is Katara
Korra: Cool!, I've heard from the White Lotus people that you're the one who is going to teach me Waterbending!
Katara: Why yes Korra, I heard a few hours ago about you arriving here, I recognize that it's very important for me to help teach the next Avatar the element of Waterbending, so I will gladly start you're training with you tomorrow
Korra: Thank you so much! *hugs Katara*
Katara: Awww, that's very nice of you Korra
The next day, Katara got up early in the morning so that she could start Korra's Waterbending training.
Katara: Ok now, Korra, are you ready to begin your training?
Korra: Yes please!
Katara: Ok, but first, show me what you Waterbending moves are you capable of performing so far
Korra: Ok
Korra then proceeded to demonstrate the only Waterbending moves she knew at the moment, she did a fine enough job at Streaming the Water and successfully made a Sphere of Water float a little bit in the air, but other than that she didn't really know that much.
Katara: Hmm, not bad Korra, is there anything else you would like to show me?
Korra: No, that's all I'm able to do
Katara: Don't worry, I assure you that in time you will grow to become a very talented Waterbender, just as long as you are obedient and follow my instructions carefully
Korra: Ok, so can we start learning new moves now please?
Katara: Sure
Katara spent the majority of the day trying to teach Korra about how to use some of the more basic Waterbending tactics, such as trying to create a decently sized wave, use the Water Whip, trying to use Water Vacillation, or trying to turn Water into Ice. However, Korra proved to be pretty unsuccessful at replicating any of these moves at all.
Korra: Aw man!, I can't do any of these properly, I'm so terrible at this!
Katara: Don't say that Korra, you've only just started to finally learn these moves, you shouldn't be expecting to get them down right away. Come on Korra, let's go back inside, it's almost time for dinner
Korra: Wait no!
Katara: Hmm?
Korra: I know that I shouldn't be too worried about mastering these Waterbending moves right away, but can I ask you something?
Katara: What is it?
Korra: Can we at least keep training for another hour today please?
Katara: Well, ok sure, I'll train you for an extra hour today, then afterwards we go inside, Ok?
Korra: Ok!
Katara then proceeded to bend a huge pile of snow onto both herself and Korra, Korra was stunned at first until she saw that Katara was laughing before she herself began to laugh as well, Korra then proceeded to bend a small sphere of water and throw it Katara, stunning her very briefly before they both started to laugh out loud at each other.
1 year later*
It had been a year since Korra had started training with Katara, by now she had greatly improved in the time since her arrival, but she clearly still had a lot to learn regardless.
Korra: Darn it!, no matter how many times I attempt to turn the Water into full blown Ice it always backfires!, I can't do this!
Katara: Calm down Korra please!, remember what I've told you before, don't get mad at the fact that you can't master all there is to learn about Waterbending immediately, you must take time to fully master the element of Water, as well as all of the other elements.
Korra: I'm sorry, I'm just really desperate to learn all of the elements as fast as I can, I just really want to be able to have the chance to help people who are in need right now, you know what I mean?!
Katara then started to laugh a little bit.
Korra: What's so funny?
Katara: I'm sorry Korra, it's just that you genuinely remind me so much of how I was when I was younger, I see a lot of myself in you more than anyone else around here to be honest
Korra smiled a goofy grin upon hearing this, before then going back to trying to perform the move that she was struggling at.
Korra: Alright, I think that I've gotten this down
Korra then was able to successfully turn the Water into Ice before immediately rejoicing at this. Katara then used her Waterbending to knock Korra down a bit and to fall onto the ice, both of them then proceeded to start laughing at each other once more.
6 years later*
Korra has grown immensely since she started her training with Katara, over the course of the past 7 years, Katara trained Korra into becoming one of the most powerful Waterbenders in the world, and now that Korra had become full fledged Waterbending Master, it was only a matter of time before she was to begin her Earthbending training.
After a long meeting between the White Lotus, Katara, and Sokka. Korra was called into the room.
Sokka: Korra
Korra: Yes Sokka?
Sokka: After a very long discussion, we have all decided that you are fully eligible to begin your Earthbending training in the Earth Kingdom
Korra: Really?!, but what about my Waterbending training?
Katara: Korra, there is nothing more for me to teach you, you have grown so much since we first met 7 years ago, I hereby declare you to be a full fledged Waterbending Master
Korra then ran over to and hugged Katara.
Korra: Thank you so much!
Katara: No problem Korra
Korra: So uh, where will I be taken to learn Earthbending?
Sokka: We will take you to the city of Zaofu, there you will begin your Earthbending training with the city's leader, Suyin Beifong
Korra: You mean the daughter of Toph Beifong?!, no way!
Sokka: Now start getting ready, we'll be heading out soon, and be sure to go get your pet polar bear dog Naga too
Korra: Ok
Korra then ran outside to the area where Naga was being kept in, she then jumped straight into Naga embracing her in a hug.
Korra: Naga I can't believe it!, I've finally been declared to be a Waterbending Master!, and we're going to Zaofu to start my Earthbending training!, isn't that great?!
Naga then proceeded to lick Korra's face profusely while Korra was giggling all throughout.
Korra: Naga, This is definitely the greatest day of my life!

We then cut to the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, where we see a massively sized armada outside of the Royal Palace. Inside the Royal Palace, the King of Omashu was confronted by a man and his small group of soldiers backing him up.
King Bumi II: General Tensai!, what on earth is this treachery?!
Tensai: Actually it's Tensai The Conqueror now
King Bumi II: What?!
Tensai: You see, I am now leading a revolution to completely overthrow our pathetic government, all across the Earth Kingdom lie hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers waiting for my order to being their attacks, and it will all begin once I have taken full custody over this very city
King Bumi II: Over my dead body!
The King then bended a huge Earth wall and sent it flying towards Tensai, but Tensai quickly dodged the attack with ease and then bended a huge rock pillar and sent it flying back at the King, the rock pillar was far too fast for the the King to dodge and he ended up being hit with the attack at full force, knocking him out instantly.
Tensai: I'm sorry your majesty, but you're pitiful reign over this city, is now over
The King's unconscious body was carried out of the room by two soldiers while Tensai began to prepare for his announcement, the monarchy that reigned over Omashu for hundreds of years was officially over, and a new era was about to fully take its place.
