"What is it?" Kaiba drawled.
Jounouchi knew it was almost a miracle that the brunette had taken his video call. Yet all he could manage was an unappreciative growl at the tone, like the dog Kaiba claimed he was.
"Unless you plan on speaking, I'm ending this call," Kaiba said.
"I'm getting to it," Jounouchi bit out. "Hopefully your friendlier at this shindig cause otherwise it's going to be a long night."
"What shindig?" Kaiba asked.
"Yugi's throwing a graduation party. Mokuba and you are invited," Jounouchi replied.
Kaiba didn't respond, simply stared at the screen with an unreadable expression.
"We thought it'd be nice to have everyone together," Jounouchi said. "Especially after everything we've gone through with Atem."
Eyes widening slightly, that seemed to get Kaiba's attention.
"I'll attend, but don't expect any sappy last words from me," Kaiba responded.
"Hey, to be honest, those aren't really my thing either," Jounouchi confided with a smile.
And to his surprise, Kaiba smiled back. "It'll be nice to see you, Jounouchi."
Caught off guard, Jounouchi nearly forgot to respond.
"What was that?" Kaiba asked, unable to make out Jounouchi's rushed response.
"I said it'll be nice to see you too!" Jounouchi repeated louder than he had intended. "I mean it's time we put things to rest as well."
Kaiba went quiet again before nodding. "What better time."
