Vigriff-Thanks. I appreciate it very much.
Haxorous knight-You have no idea how much that question almost killed me. (I was eating lunch at a restaurant and almost choked.) But honestly, I have some ideas ;) ;)
Now I'm sorry for not updating this story sooner. I had a lot of things to take care of plus this now breaking off from Cannon with Cinder being "dead". So, I had a lot to think about. I hope you all will enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 10-Welcome to Beacon.
Oscar quickly met with Neo before he walked into the airship to Beacon Academy. He greeted her with a nod. Hey brother, she signed with a smirk. Their story on paper was that they were adopted siblings. "Where are the others?" Oscar asked as they walked in the ship with the others.
Neo rolled her mismatched eyes before signing, I told them to go inside. They should be within our sight.
"Very well then." Oscar replied as they walked into the passenger section close to the windows of the ship that gave a view of the Kingdom below. Oscar briefly looked around and saw glimpses of Mercury and Emerald on different sides of the room.
"Well, hello there cute one."
Oscar blinked in confusion before he turned around and came face to face with the daughter of Raven, Yang Xiao Long.
"Can I help you, Miss?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. The blonde held her hand out. "Xiao Long, Yang Xiao Long." She said.
"Oscar Pine. A pleasure to meet you Ms. Xiao Long." He shook her hand. Yang gestures to the person that seemed to be hiding in her golden mane. "My little sister told me that you helped her fight off some thugs." She spoke. "As her older sister, I demand that you give me the dirt on what that was about."
Oscar rose an eyebrow and looked at the person hiding behind Yang. It was the girl from the night before. She poked her head out of the blonde hair and waved at Oscar. He recognized her silver eyes. "Oh, hey Red." He greeted.
Yang turned to the younger girl with a teasing smirk. "Oh? So, he gave you a nickname already?" She asked.
"Yang, stop it!" She protested, clearly embarrassed. "I said there's nothing between us." Oscar chuckled in amusement at sensing what the girl actually felt. "While I don't even know her name, I wouldn't be opposed to that idea."
The girl looked at him a bit confused before exclaiming. "Oh! My name's Ruby Rose." she said holding her hand out. "Oscar Pine. It's nice to finally meet you properly." Oscar replied with a smile. "Same." Ruby replied. She blinked as she felt that Oscar said something. "Wait what did you mean you wouldn't be opposed?"
Oscar shrugged, "Whatever do you mean?" he asked. "All I said was that I didn't know your name." he stated innocently.
Yang snorted while Ruby stuttered before Neo tapped the former's shoulder and waved her hand at Yang. The blonde girl blinked. "Neo?" she asked in surprise.
Hey, blondie Neo signed with a coy smirk. Yang stared at the mute before she smiled brightly and said to Ruby. "I told you this is the best day ever." Yang then hugged Neo and the two briefly kissed.
Oscar rose an eyebrow. "Oh, so this is the secret girlfriend you've been sneaking off to." he said with a teasing smirk to Neo. Neo blinked and looked at him and Yang before fidgeting with her fingers acting nervous.
Yang-You know her, Oscar?
Oscar-Duh, I grew up under the same roof as she did.
Yang looked to Neo who signed. Yang, meet my brother Oscar. Oscar, this is my girlfriend, Yang. Oscar chuckled and looked back at Yang. "I have always wondered who she was sneaking out to meet." He said with a shrug. "Same, she gave off hints that she had a sibling." Yang stated. "So, then as a concerned brother I will say this," Oscar replied, leaning forward and looking serious. "Hurt my sister and I will make you regret it."
"The feeling's mutual if you're interested in my sister." Yang replied coolly. "Guys, there's no need for threats," Ruby said nervously. "We're all on the same side."
Oscar-You're right let's watch the news.
He points to the holographic screen. The screen showed a mugshot of the criminal Ruby and Oscar fought last night. "The robbery was led by nefarious crime lord, Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities." The male news reporter said. "If you have information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police department."
Is that supposed to be a joke? Oscar thought. Roman himself had said that the police were incompetent. Very much so. "Back to you Lisa."
"Thank you, Cyril." Lisa Lavender replied. "In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" The news report was cut off and replaced by the Huntress Oscar and Ruby met the night before.
"Hello and welcome to Beacon." The hologram said.
Yang-Who's that?
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch."
Yang-Oh.
Glynda-You are among the privileged few who have the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace. And as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and training to protect our world.
With that said, the hologram disappeared. Ruby ran up to the window along with other students and looked at the Kingdom below. "Yang, look! You can see Signal." Ruby said. "I guess home isn't that after all." Yang wrapped around her arm. "Beacon's our home now."
Oscar-Home is where the heart is.
Neo-True.
Just then the four of them hear the sound of someone groaning. They all turned to the left in unison and saw a blonde boy dressed in white knight looking armor holding a hand over his face. The boy ran by them, his face green and some vomit leaking between his fingers.
Neo-Can I be the first to say "Ew?"
Oscar-But... you don't talk Neo.
The mute rolled her eyes while Yang shrugged. "Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone."
"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby added before looking out to Beacon. "I wonder who we're going to meet." she said.
Yang-I just hope they'll be better than Vomit Boy.
Both Oscar and Neo chuckled in amusement before Ruby shouted, "Gah, Yang! Gross! You have puke on your shoes!"
Oscar rolled his eyes and shook his head while Yang shouted, "Gross, gross, gross, gross!"
Ruby-Get away from me! Get away from me!
Emerald and Mercury watched the whole scene from where they stood. "If this is the future defenders and saviors of the world," Emerald said to Mercury. "We're doomed."
Sienna hadn't really put much thought of allying with a human. Much less someone like this... Darth Vader. She didn't know what to think of him. He seemed to have come out of nowhere. Actually, there were whispers of a man like him, she just didn't believe them. Not just that but what he had told her and Adam sounded too crazy to be true.
"Favorite fairy tale?" Sienna repeated while Adam looked to the masked man in black. "Like the story of the Seasons." He added. "You are aware of this story, correct?" Sienna nodded. "Yes, but I would say that my personal favorite was the Shallow Sea."
"Would believe me if the Seasons has been around since I was a child?" Vader asked. (1) "I don't believe you're that old, Vader." Sienna said with a shake of her head. "How about if I told you that it was true?" he asked.
Sienna-...What?
Darth Vader-The Maidens in the story. The ones that were gifted extraordinary powers from the wizard, what if I told you that they actually exist?
"You are... absolutely insane!" Adam shouted at the end. Vader shrugged. "It does sound unbelievable hearing it out loud." he admits. "But I can show you proof."
And boy, did he show the proof. It made Sienna rethink a lot of things about what's real and what's not real. What's more, there was some woman hiding in the shadows and controlling the Grimm. She didn't know what was more bizarre. But Vader had told her why he wanted an alliance. Salem had caused too much damage to humanity and was a threat to the Faunus as well. In order to defeat her they had to work together.
"Are you sure this is a wise choice?" Adam asked her. "This could be a trick." Sienna held her hands up. "We don't have much of a choice Adam." The Tiger Faunus said. "Besides, after what we've seen what he's capable of, I think it's best we're fighting alongside Darth Vader not against him."
Adam sighed in response. After Lord Vader had told them everything. The Maidens, the Relics, Ozma and Salem, he went along with them when they attacked a SDC convoy. And there, they saw the power of Darth Vader. Adam didn't want to admit it, but he doubt that he could fight against Vader.
"Fine." Adam said as he turned around and left the throne room. Sienna rubbed her head with a heavy sigh. Bast, please don't let this destroy the White Fang. Sienna mentally prayed.
Things were not exactly going so well at Beacon for Ruby Rose. Her sister had just left her with her girlfriend and her own friends from Signal. Then she met this crabby girl by tripping on her luggage and she shook Dust in her face that exploded when Ruby simply sneezed. She said she was sorry but the girl, Weiss Schnee, didn't seem to forgive her even with what Oscar had said.
On the bright side, she met Vomit Boy. Jaune! I mean Jaune.
"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on." The blonde boy in white armor said as he, Oscar and Ruby walked through the courtyard. "I think that sounds more like air sickness." Oscar said with a chuckle. Jaune shrugged in response.
Ruby-Look, I'm sorry. "Vomit Boy" is what first came to mind.
Oscar-I mean, you did give that impression.
Jaune puffed. "Oh yeah? Well, what if I called you Crater Face?" he asked Ruby hotly. "Hey, that explosion was an accident!" Ruby retorted.
Oscar leans close to her. "Do you mind if I call you that?" He asks teasingly. Ruby stuttered before looking away, "I'll allow it." Why am I feeling like this? Ruby thought while Oscar seemed to look coyly at her before he turned to Jaune who said defiantly, "Well, the name's Jaune Arc, short, sweet, rolls off the tongue." he added. "Ladies love it."
Both Oscar and Ruby looked at him skeptically. "Do they?" Ruby asked.
"They will!" Jaune responds in a panic. "I hope... that's what my mom always tells me." Both Ruby and Oscar chuckled in amusement.
Ruby-So, I go this.
She pulls out Crescent Rose and slams it on the ground. Oscar and Jaune jump back a bit. The former in surprise and the latter in fear. "A little warning would be nice next time." Oscar chided. "Is that a scythe?" Jaune asked.
"It's also a customizable high impact sniper rifle." Ruby added with pride.
Jaune-A what...?
"She means it's a gun." Oscar clarifies while Ruby cocks her weapon with a smile. "Oh."
Ruby-What do you have Oscar?
Oscar-I just have this simple axe with a sword in its handle.
Ruby-Cool. What about you Jaune?
"I uh," Jaune said nervously as he pulled out his sword. "I just got this sword. And this shield." He holds the scabbard that expands into a shield.
"What do they do?" Ruby asked, lightly touching the shield before it fell out of Jaune's hand. He fumbles with it for a bit before he caught it. "The shield gets smaller," he explains. "So if I ever get tired of carrying it, I can just put it away."
Ruby tilted her head. "But... wouldn't it just way the same?" Jaune slumped. "Yeah, it does."
Oscar shrugged. "At least it saves space." He remarked. Ruby giggled. "Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons." she said as she held her scythe. "I guess I went a little overboard on designing this."
Both Oscar and Jaune looked to the girl with silver eyes in surprise. "You made that?!" Jaune asked while Oscar asked, "You designed your weapon too?"
Ruby-Of course. All students at Signal forge their own weapons. Did you design yours Oscar?
Oscar-The axe, yes. The sword was from an... old friend of my father.
Ruby-Cool. What about you Jaune?
"My sword's an hand-me-down." Jaune replied. "My great-great grandfather used it to fight in the Great War."
"Sounds like a family heirloom to me." Ruby commented with a laugh. "Aren't family heirlooms and hand-me-downs the same thing?" Oscar asked in thought.
Ruby-Well I like it. Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days.
Jaune-Yeah, the classics.
Oscar-Eh. My friends back in Mistral just go by the saying, "If it kills them Grimm bitches, it works."
Normally Ruby wouldn't like people cursing but Oscar spoke in a gruff voice, and it made her giggle. Then she realized something. "Hey, where are we going?" she asked.
Jaune-Oh I don't know. I was following Oscar.
Oscar-I was following Ruby.
The three teens looked around the courtyard. "Do you think there may be a directory? A food court? Maybe some recognizable landmark?" Jaune asked while Ruby and Oscar began to snort in amusement. "Is that a no?" he asked. "That's a no." Oscar said.
Luckily the trio found the auditorium that the new students were gathering in. The room was nearly filled to the brim with people. "Ruby! Oscar!" Said teens turn to the right and see Yang and Neo waving at them. "We saved you two a spot."
Oscar turned to Jaune, "We are needed elsewhere." he said while Ruby said, "See ya." Jaune tried to call them back but they didn't hear him.
"Hey sis. How's your day?" Yang asked Ruby. "You mean since you ditched me and Oscar and I exploded?" Ruby asked with a glare.
"Absolutely wonderful." Oscar said sarcastically. Neo tilted her head. Huh?
Yang-Yikes, meltdown already?
Ruby-No, I literally blew a hole in front of the school. There was a fire and I think some ice?
Oscar-No, but there was some lightning.
"Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asked while Neo looked to Oscar a bit skeptic. "Ugh, I wish." Ruby retorted, "first I tripped on some crabby girl's luggage and then she yelled at me. Then I sneezed then I exploded."
Oscar then noticed the girl Ruby was talking about was standing right behind her. "Uh, Ruby..." he said but Ruby was busy ranting to her sister before Weiss shouted, "YOU!"
Ruby jumped into Oscar's arms, "Oh God, it's happening again!" she said in fear. "You're lucky we didn't get blown off the side of the cliff." Weiss snapped.
"Oh my Dust, you really exploded." Yang and Neo said and signed. Ruby then noticed that she jumped into Oscar's arms and how close their faces were. "Gah! Sorry." She said before she jumped off and turned to Weiss. "It was an accident."
Weiss just held a pamphlet in front of Ruby's face and just said something that neither Ruby or Oscar understood. "Uh..." Ruby said while Oscar blinked owlishly.
Weiss-Do you really want to make thing up to me?
Ruby-Absolutlely?
Weiss-Read this and don't speak to me again.
Are the Schnees like this? Oscar thought. Or is it just her? If so, I can see why Robyn hates Jacques. Yang tried to be the middle ground between the two while Oscar leaned over to Neo. "Where are Emerald and Mercury?" On your left. Neo answered.
"Hello Weiss, I'm Ruby." Ruby said holding her hand out to Weiss. "You want to hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies."
"Yeah, and we paint our nails, try on clothes and talk about cute boys like Green Light" Weiss says sarcastically before pointing at Oscar who looked mildly offended.
"Wow, really?!" Ruby asked eagerly. "No." She looked down at this.
Oscar leaned forward. "So, you think I'm cute?" he asked teasingly. Ruby nodded absently before realizing what Oscar just asked. "No! I mean yes! I-I-I mean-" She stammered before their attention was brought to the stage.
"I'll keep this brief." Professor Ozpin said. "You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft, acquire new skills and when you're finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people." he continued. "But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy. In need of guidance and direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this but your time here will show you that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take that first step."
With that he steps off the stage as Glynda steps up. "You will all gather in the ballroom tonight." she said dutifully. "Tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready."
Yang-He seemed kind of...
Neo-Out of place?
Oscar-Dull?
Ruby-It seemed like he wasn't even there.
Oscar shrugged, "Well I guess we should look for a spot to sleep then." With that said he and Neo walked away to go get their luggage.
So what do you think? I hope it's not too bad.
(1) I know Vader may have sounded like Ozpin but that was the point. Remember he looked into Raven's mind and her memories. So of course he might as well speak like Ozpin during this particular conversation.
Review and tell me what you think.
See you guys later.
Stay safe.
May the Force be with you.
GojiraFan455516 out.
Peace.
