A Mass Effect Reaction fanfiction

Hello, to anyone that's reading this. Thank you for doing that, and if you want to, I would appreciate any critique and reviews if you leave any, as this is my second fanfic. I do not own Mass Effect or Titanfall, they are owned by Bioware and Respawn Entertainment respectively.

I would also appreciate any ideas for what the Citadel should react to because I don't have a very large list of that yet.

I know I didn't explain Humanities' tech and personality very well the Citadel Species, so think of this as a sort of 1.5 chapter because the previous document was getting too damn big. I will not be continuing with the first contact teaser, and that is because honestly, a lot of the stuff that I'm going to show them reacting to is stuff that I plan to also make a fanfic of, so think of the teasers as little hints to how things are going to go in those stories.

I've also changed the look of Arcturus Station a bit because I didn't like Bioware's comic version, and because this is the Titanfall universe it would make sense for it to be A LOT bigger.

Hope you all enjoy this chapter, it was going to be a lot shorter but I realized that I left a big plot hole in the middle that you'll notice quickly where I fixed it, and I will get the next one out as soon as I can.

Titanfall 2 and Beyond's Tech and This Humanity's Personality

XX Citadel Conference Room XX

Spartus was grinning as he saw the screen, glad his people were able to help.

Tevos, meanwhile, couldn't help but be scared that they were practically actively poking the dangerous AI with a fleet.

Valern was also happy that the humans were getting help, but he wished he got more data on just what they were firing at each other, because he only managed to get the missiles.

Rael was laughing a bit maniacally as he saw an AI get one of its biggest ships ripped to shreds in a single shot.

All of their thoughts were interrupted, however, when the screen flickered again and more text popped up.

"Hello people of the Citadel! I hope you enjoyed that last viewing. When I finished it up I just realized that I never told you guys about the tech, so I will be doing that shortly!"

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

Mordin and Tali were grinning wide, omnitools back up and ready to take more notes on all the possible inventions that humanity has created.

"I want to see that Titan with the chaingun!" Wrex said excitedly and Garrus nodded, both of them thinking it looked badass.

XX Hotel Room XX

Benezia hummed as she heard about hearing the humans' views on things, as she knows it'll be useful to try and get humanity into the Galactic Community smoothly.

Liara also couldn't help but be fascinated by the thought about getting a species point of view, though she was rather confused on how the screen said 'tend to view themselves', almost sounding like the humans didn't like themselves.

"Humanity's personality is honestly one of the most complicated things to describe, as it tends to be very different between the universes. For those of Frontier, their experience with the IMC has led them to be very critical of themselves, noting the inherent greed and ability to easily fall to their vices." The voice said, the first image showing General Marder for greed, before showing Barker, drinking heavily, for vices.

"Another thing about this humanity is that they've grown increasingly critical of any and all centralized governments and authority figures holding too much power, hence why their society is run similar to the Asari Republics in the sense that, each system gets a say in society through an elected representative onto a council of every civilized world of the Frontier, as well as any space station over a certain population." The voice explained.

Tevos sighed, "Should have expected that to happen. Something tells me it's much less 'being critical' than it is 'having an incredible disdain' for higher authorities." She said.

"Aren't your own people?" Sparatus asked, confused why she would sigh like that, as if some force told her something is going to go wrong.

"Yes, but my people are willing to talk things out when they're not feeling represented. These people just got out of a war, started because an authority figure tried to impose control over their society, and get rid of any and all of the common people's representation." She started to say.

Valern then finished, "Which is what we would be doing, no matter how you phrase it, if we make them join as an associate species, heck, even if they joined as a fully fledged member."

They were all silent, contemplating that before Rael started snickering, laying a hand on Tevos' shoulder, "Hey, thanks for kicking us out of the Citadel, bosh'tets. Makes making an alliance with them much easier for us. Keelah, for the Krogan as well" He said with a great deal of amusement and spite as the Councilors looked horrified.

XX Citadel at Large XX

Many thoughts started to circulate at the description of how humanity functioned.

For the Asari, they were starting to get nervous. They didn't like the thought of an independent humanity, but also remembering their own brutal past about how they handled oppressors and not wishing for that same treatment from a species who had more than enough wartime experience. Though there were more than a few prideful matriarchs thinking that 'humanity will know their place'.

For the Batarians, many of them were already wondering how problematic it would be to try and enslave these humans, because from the sounds of it they were prone to rebellion and more than willing to commit incredible acts of violence and have a great deal of experience doing so, not to mention the willingness to sacrifice themselves for the rest of the group to survive. More than a few high-caste families died off to slaves like that, who purposefully charged headfirst into their collar's controller, blowing them all up in the process.

For the Turians, while many of them wanted humanity to join the Citadel, the generals realized that even if they didn't, so long as the Turian General in the clip didn't do anything bad to the humans after what they'd seen, they still had possible ways to build an alliance and trade.

For the Salarians, as soon as they'd seen the history and how similar humanity was to the early Asari years because of their recent war, they knew immediately that they're not joining the Citadel, so they were making plans to either build trade or steal their tech.

XX T'soni's XX

Shit, that's not ideal. Well, we can't expect the universe to revolve around us, Benezia thought with a sigh, already throwing out ideas to get the humans to join, now just thinking of ways to beat the other matriarch's to being the diplomat for the humans. She knew that the others would be far too stubborn to let humanity slip through their fingers.

"Another thing about humanity is that a mixture of wartime and arms races ended up causing their technology to rapidly advance as they continued to try and 'out adapt' the other. This led to things such as improved and highly modifiable weapons platforms, ships, space stations, light and quick to set up prefabs, and an incredibly powerful industry in anything related to weapons, energy production, robotics, and construction." The voice explained as it showed hundreds of automated facilities such as SPECTRE conveyer belts or even images of Typhon's underground construction complex.

The view then switched to a soldier, a man in overalls and covered in grease stains, and another person who was leaning against a Titan that was holding a bundle of hay over each shoulder, "This much automation has led the relatively small population of the Frontier compared to the core worlds to adapt and choose whether they want to serve in the military, in a factory, or on a farm, and whatever side is lacking they can just assign a MRVN or some other drone until such a position can be filled in."

XX Citadel at Large XX

The Volus were absolutely shaking in rage at how hard the Humans can effectively tank the economy. At first they wondered how this system can even work before remembering that this was all originally designed by a company trying to maximize profit, meaning that all the previous infrastructure like this could be easily adapted to maximize production in a heartbeat, so while the human's "Frontier" doesn't have that much actual money, they're absolutely drowning in both natural resources and manufactured goods, not to mention they have more than enough help to gather it all fast.

The Elcor felt a little put out as well. Their whole trade was almost entirely based upon their heavy metals and metal-based goods, yet these humans could easily knock their entire planet into poverty if they didn't feel like having competition.

The Salarians were getting headaches trying to think of ways to either break this system or set up trade deals with this species.

The Asari paled in realization that Humanity, if they found a big enough Eezo mine, could destroy the rest of the monopoly they held that the Warp Drive didn't affect. Once again, they really wanted to establish advisors among this race, but at the same time they saw the government and knew it would be fruitless if they didn't get at least half of the leaders an advisor.

For the Turians, they were terrified when they realized that humanity could probably build up a massive fleet with minimal care of manpower due to such automation and AI.

"Moving on to technology, humanity excelled in its progress during wartime, due to first creating it as a weapon, and then finding the practical uses for it later. Like they did with nuclear energy." The voice said, even showing a picture of Little Boy before transitioning to a nuclear reactor.

"Starting with Titans, as you know they were originally created for both warfare and practical use, with the early ones simply just being modified models of the base types, which were Atlas, Ogre, and Strider." The voice said as it showed the three titans before moving on.

"With the fall of Demeter however, the creation of Titan's specialized for combat was prioritized, resulting in the Atlas to branch off into the Ion, Tone, and Monarch," The voice said as it showed off the three Titans in question, with Ion having a sharp, angular and octagonal face plate and a bright orange rifle, Tone being much smoother with a massive cannon rifle, and finally Monarch with its belt fed chaingun and slanted top.

"The Ogre split off into the Scorch and Legion," the voice continued, showing the scorch as round and bulbous with a gun that just looked like a long pipe, and the angular and predatory legion with a massive minigun.

"And the Stryder split into the Northstar and Ronin." The voice finished, showing the angular Ronin, who wielded a sword and a strange looking firearm with three barrels, meanwhile the spherical Northstar was wielding something that got some confusion from the more military minded Citadel audience before videos of the Titans were shown.

"Starting with Ion, this Titan is unique in that its entire loadout is entirely based on energy and explosive weapons. Its splitter rifle is a beast of a weapon that utilizes a miniaturized cyclic particle accelerator to fire, and can make its barrel split three to five times by leveraging Ion's main power and battery systems.

"This means that the process for firing it almost gives you a sort of 'warning' when the area around the magazine is spinning, as this is a tell-tale sign that the rifle is ready to fire particles, being spun at just below the speed of light, at a target to disrupt the atomic structure, dealing large amounts of kinetic and heat damage. However this is offset by the need to reload every thirty shots, as the high capacity batteries used in the weapon tend to not last very long." The voice explained as it showed a video of the rifle and its capabilities.

"Its laser shot is capable of punching clean through armor, and its trip wires will detonate with enough force to liquify anything that comes too close. It comes equipped with a powerful Vortex Shield that allows it to catch any physical projectiles and redirect them back in either precise hits or blasts similar to a shotgun. The downside to all of this is that it all runs off of a single energy reserve due to size and cost constraints. Finally, its laser core is rather straightforward, firing a massive, continuous beam for about thirty seconds, melting anything in its way." The voice explained, making sure to point out the decreasing bar on the side before showing the laser core.

XX Conference Room XX

Seeing the devastation an Ion could bring sent shivers up the Councilors and Rael's spines.

"Amazing that they've managed to develop direct energy weapons this powerful, not to mention miniaturized cyclic particle accelerators." Valern said as he saw the Splitter Rifle..

"Yes, and it appears that they use them liberally in some areas." Sparatus said, a bit miffed. Afterall, if they could make lasers this small, what's stopping them from putting it on a ship?

"Not to mention with how small those batteries are, you could stash quite a few of them, not counting all the extra packs and such it seems to be carrying." Rael said as he was getting ideas for the migrant fleet.

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

"Fascinating. To imagine a species would be able to develop this without Mass Effect. I wonder what power source they've come up with. Maybe they're using anti-particles for more than just their ships?" He thought out loud.

"That would make the most sense. I don't see what else it could be, unless they've found some sort of new element only native to their area of space." Tali suggested. The thought of making something so simple that deadly and efficient is very intriguing to her as well.

"I wonder if you can disable the battery though, maybe a well placed, armor piercing shot?" Garrus said out loud.

"It would have to be out of a weapon you could kill a Thresher Maw in one shot with." Wrex said, seeing the thick, ablative armor.

"For the next Titan, it's much simpler weapon-wise, but no less deadly. The Tone is based off of the Atlas frame, like the ion, so it's a decent mix between speed and defense. What sets the Tone apart, however, is the long range capabilities." The voice spoke as it showed off a Tone landing in a battlefield.

"Now THAT'S what I'm talking about." Wrex said with a grin as he saw Tone's weapon.

"Tone is an effectively simple beast. It utilized a semi-auto cannon, chambered in 40mm rounds with adjustable fins linked to the heads up display for the pilot, allowing it to correct a small bit mid flight to deal a powerful, explosive hit."

The video now showed three parts of a circle forming with each hit on the enemy Titan, "After three of these hits, Tone's systems will acquire a Target Lock, allowing it to unleash a small burst of rockets from a pod in the left shoulder. Locks can also be acquired via the Tone's sonar pulse ability." The narrator said, showing off the orange projectile.

"For defensive purposes, you won't find Tone lacking as it can set down an immovable particle wall to hide behind as it fires at you. Finally, for its core ability, it's capable of unleashing twin salvos from both rocket pods on its shoulders, flooding the area with high explosive missiles that go wherever it looks." The voice finished explaining the tone as it showed a tone leaping up, before kicking another titan twice in the face, shoving its hand into the cockpit, ripping the pilot out while throwing him up, and firing on him mid air.

XX Conference Room XX

A bit put off by the brutality in the video, Sparatus could not deny the effectiveness of the Titan, not to mention that there were far less breakable parts to it than the Ion.

"Hmm, strange. It seems even after finding Mass Effect tech, they don't rely on accelerators." Rael said as he took more notes.

"I'd imagine the sheer amount of Element Zero would be immense to try and create something like a Titan Size mass accelerator, not to mention you can't exactly create smart rounds for mass accelerators." Valern said.

Tevos, meanwhile, was starting to get queasy from the ending.

"Finally, finishing with the Atlas-based Titans is the Monarch. Just one step below Vanguard Titans, the only thing that truly separates them is that the Monarch utilizes a more advanced, truly thinking AI, as opposed to the easier to produce AIs in most Titans that are only capable of basic commands. The Monarch utilizes a basic, belt-fed machine gun, an energy siphon that can provide it with a single-use energy-based shield that most Titans need an extra battery to achieve, and a small salvo of unguided rockets.

"What sets it apart, however, is the sheer versatility and upgrades you're capable of putting in a Monarch, from making the Energy Siphon have a larger radius or heal your allies, upgrading the chain gun to make it shoot faster and harder, or even improving the armor and eliminating the traditional weak points, putting it on par with an Ogre class." The video explained, showing off the various upgrades in action before moving on.

"Next, starting with the hothead of the Ogre's, is the Scorch. It's capable of laying multiple incendiary traps before igniting them with either its Thermite Launcher, Flame Wall, or Flame Shield, all of his abilities being incredibly straightforward and utilizing large quantities of natural gas and thermite, which to this day remains one of the hottest burning chemicals known to mankind. It's final ability, however, is what makes it a true powerhouse as it slams on the ground and releases a rolling wave of thermite explosions, killing sufficiently weakened titans." The voice explained with zeal as it showed the Scorch's abilities, particularly the area denial as well as horrifying defense as it melted an enemy Titan's front, and how it was able to shrug off most damage.

XX Hotel Room XX

"Too…much…fire." Liara said as she watched the Scorch in action, possibly gaining pyrophobia in the process.

"Indeed Little Wing, while I do think that some fire might be necessary in a battle, this feels excessive." Benezia said with a sick feeling in her stomach as she watched the Flame Core literally disintegrate pilots and grunts before detonating the enemy titans.

XX Conference Room XX

"Oh spirits…" Sparatus said, not even thinking of the battle for a moment as he realized just what KIND of destruction that particular type of titan could cause.

Valern and Rael realized it too, but Tevos was confused, "What is it Sparatus? This one is admittedly one of the tamer and more counterable ones." She asked.

"I just realized how much half-melted armor and structures you would need to replace, even if you survived the fight with this one. The sheer monetary cost alone to repair the damages…" He trailed off, beforing shuddering with Tevos at the thought, meanwhile the Volus suddenly got a heavy feeling in their wallets, housing contractors getting happier while insurance workers were filled with dread.

"The next and last Ogre, however, is far more infamous in most cases. Meet the Legion." The voice said as Legion dropped in, and almost everybody realized it as Blisk's type of Titan.

The legion swung out it's gun, "Wielding a massive chaingun known as the Predator Cannon, it's capable of putting large quantities of lead down range, not to mention the weapon's capabilities of switching from long range to short range, as well as the Power Shot, letting the cannon turn from a minigun into either an sniper rifle or shotgun. It is, by far, one of the most expensive Titan's, maintenance and munitions-wise due to the sheer amount of ammo typically used in each engagement with the enemy, as pilots tend to be very liberal with their fire while wielding this titan."

"Added to that, the Titan's weapon also comes with a deployable, temporary shield running off a battery in the gun which utilizes the kinetic energy of the spinning barrels to charge. Finally, the Titan's core ability is a temporary upgrade to targeting systems, where the Titan hooks up the chain gun to its internal ammo reserves and unleashes an effect similar to that of a smart pistol, with all rounds guaranteed to hit their target." The narrator continued, showing a titan mowing down a literal legion of grunts.

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

All was silent as they saw the devastation a correctly used Legion could bring, before Wrex spoke up, "I want one." He said with a grin.

"Wrex, you probably can't even fit in one." Garrus said, before Wrex waved him off.

"There's more than enough room! Look." he said when the Titan opened up.

"You'd probably knock yourself out with your own breath, cooped up in that thing." Tali said, before everyone froze and turned to her. She thought she messed up for a second before Garrus snorted and started laughing hard, almost tumbling off the couch, Mordin grinning as well.

Meanwhile Wrex faked being offended, "Ancestors you all are rude, don't you know to respect your elders?" he said, able to maintain it for all of five seconds before laughing as well.

XX Citadel At Large XX

Companies that specialize in ship and vehicle based weaponry were taking even more notes. Afterall, if they can make more of these rounds, they could make a fortune off of the humans in trade. You need to buy in bulk to use a minigun afterall.

"Finally, finishing up the Titans explanation, we have the Northstar and the Ronin, both Stryder-based Titans with exact opposite combat philosophies. The Northstar is a small Titan, compared to the others, but the gun tends to make people listen. Said gun is a 6 shot, chargeable, Plasma Railgun." The voice explained, revealing another energy weapon and showing a view down the barrel of the gun, as well as four emitters between the wide magnetic rails as the battery spun while the weapon charged, glowing orange.

Firing, the shot itself went through a Tone's particle shield, dealing considerable damage as it punched clean through and killed the pilot. When another Titan emerged, the Northstar backed up and deployed two small discs, "For speedier enemies, it can deploy up to two magnetic 'hooks' to hold them in place." The voice explained as the Ronin was held in place.

"The smaller Titan is also capable of VTOL hover to get over cover, as well as a better height advantage to utilize its Cluster Missile. Finally, utilizing its hover ability, it can unleash its own flying salvo core called a Flight Core, however it is far more inaccurate." The video then switched to the Ronin.

XX Clinic XX

Garrus smiled, "I like that one!" he said excitedly, before Wrex decided to burst his bubble.

"Hah! Mine can snipe as well." he said, noticing the similarities to a Legion's long range power shot and Northstar's rounds, before seeing a fully charged round.

"You were saying?" Garrus asked smugly before Mordin spoke up.

"Fascinating, another directed-energy weapon, and plasma this time! It seems these humans branched off far more than we had thought." Mordin said.

"Shut up, shut up! I want to hear this one!" She said, seeing the Ronin.

XX Council Chambers XX

"And there's another weapon that they could just supersize and stick on the end of a dreadnought. Wonderful." Sparatus said, anda almost summoned up some alcohol.

"Well let's not jump to conclusions-" Tevos started to nervously say before Rael interrupted her.

"No offense Madame Councilor, but Councilor Sparatus is most likely correct. These people build enough twenty foot warmachines to be liberally deployed in large-scale warfare, not to mention they're a Militia force, meaning that there's probably very few ships that are exactly alike. What's most likely is that each 'division' of this militia has their own combat philosophy regarding ship building, so there will be some projectile based primary guns, some plasma based, and maybe even some beam-weapon based and they will probably use a force with a good mix of all three." Rael said, his mind already thinking of possible strategies for the Migrant Fleet to hide or evade these people if they prove hostile or if the Citadel screws up and makes them hostile.

"Agreed, it would be illogical to not at least attempt to create plasma firing dreadnought cannons, maybe even some anti air. Besides, even if there won't be, these humans seem to favor larger and slower projectiles, meaning we'll have to adjust kinetic shields, either making them stronger or entirely redesign how they stop bullets just to counter their weapons." Valern said, writing on his omni-tool at a mile a minute, creating various schematics and going through equations, same as Rael.

"What do you mean?" Tevos asked, and the question was nonverbally repeated by Sparatus.

"Our current combat philosophy, or at least the base is to hit as hard as we can and then evade, hitting every angle before our shield runs out. The humans, however, seem to have done an inverse of this and created a combat philosophy based almost entirely around attrition, creating powerful machines that can take multiple hits before going down, and require dedicated armor piercing based weapons with sufficient mass to penetrate. Or heavy explosives." He said as he quickly showed some of his work.

"So far, only the Turians would have armor, both ship and soldier armor, sufficient enough for long-term combat with the humans, and even then they would still be shredded fairly quickly in a drawn-out fight." Valern said.

Sparatus' eyes widened, "I will need to contact the hierarchy on making new armor, one less based on Hard Suits. Tevos, you should contact the republics as well. I know your people pride themselves on their speed, but a well aimed bullet will be much faster." He said, already taking some of his own notes.

Tevos nodded, though tentative, as Rael spoke up, "My people will need to have more modifiable suits then. I don't suppose anybody could put me in contact with a particularly generous elcor supplier and salarian scientist?" He asked rhetorically, but was surprised when he got several contacts. One for a salarian named Mordin Solus from Valern, and several elcor names from Tevos. He was most surprised, however, by Sparatus as he received coordinates to several Turian scrap yards. "U-um, thank you. I was not expecting that." he said, looking at the Turian councilor in particular.

He sighed, "Honestly, seeing just this one version of humanity easily able to throw punches with us on almost equal footing, even with their smaller population, makes me realize that we need allies, and you Quarians have the largest fleet in the known galaxy." He said, being a bit clinical about it. "While I do believe you deserve to be punished for the Geth, such as trade tariffs and what that sort of thing, what my predecessor did was immoral and borderline genocidal, especially since his reasoning was, and I'm quoting history books here, 'to eliminate competition for Dextro worlds, and to neutralize a growing threat to our council seat and economy'." Sparatus said making sure to use air quotes to show just how much he really hated his far back predecessor's words.

"How would my people be a threat to your council seat and economy?" Rael asked, almost terrifyingly calm, starting to get angry to hear that his people were literally shunned to near extinction by a paranoid racist. He could, however, get the Dextro world comment, as they were rare outside the perseus veil.

Sparatus looked at Rael as he stopped typing in his omni tool for a moment, his fellow Councilors doing the same, "He somehow got it into his head that there had to be an odd number of councilors or else nothing would get done, so either our species would be booted out, or the Volus would finally get an excuse to have a seat and separate completely from us, taking our biggest source of wealth."

"Then why did the other councilors, at the time, agree with him?" Rael asked and turned to Tevos and Valern, who both nearly sweated. Rael had no personal hate for Tevos, he had heard stories and even seen old videos about his species expulsion from the Citadel. At that time, Tevos was just an aid to the previous Asari councilor, and while it was easily missable, most likely on purpose, if you looked close enough you could see the absolute disgust on her face towards said councilor when they voted for getting rid of his people.

Tevos spoke first, "The Councilor for my people at the time saw how effective and brilliant your own were as tinkerers, and was scared that the 'asari dominance' was threatened, as for why Valern's people went with it, she was also a rather successful business woman who owned several manufacturing and heavy metal refining companies due to her past marriages with various elcor and salarians, not to mention she was good friends with several other wealthy corporation owners with similar ideas, so she all but threatened to cut off over fifty percent of the Union's supply lines to said technologies, which would have effectively crippled them almost irreparably." she explained.

"Didn't mean she had to be such a coward about it though." Valern said, head down and not making any excuses, "That's why Tevos is so serious about bills pertaining to corporations and businesses, and why she's one of the most hated people on Illium."

"Then why hasn't any of it been changed recently?" Rael asked heatedly. While he appreciated the context, they had real power to change it now.

"Because unfortunately, a lot of their threats can still be carried out. There are literal generations of Quarian-hating Asari and Turians who are more than willing to carry out their parents and grandparents threats, regardless of their current orders and affiliations. An example, for instance, would be Septimus Oraka, a descendant of the particular Turian councilor." Sparatus said, causing Rael to see red for a moment.

Septimus Oraka was a rather infamous and young general who had nearly blown up the Rayya after Rael and Gerrel, with a large company of marines and flight officers, managed to steal two heavy cruisers for the fleet as their pilgrimage gifts. Gerrel responded by almost killing Oraka and wiping out the entire pursuit fleet, after leaving his dreadnought and several other ships floating wrecks just off from the gas giant they had been resting at by ambushing them with a large amount of the Migrant Fleet's heavy fleet, including one of their few dreadnoughts, in an asteroid field with several stolen STG disruptor mines and some incredibly high yield nuclear fusion torpedoes, an action that nearly got the Migrant Fleet charged for war crimes by using them as both weapons are classified as WMDs.

Rael started to see, but he still couldn't help but feel angry, "Then why don't you just let us leave?" he asked coldly, causing all of the Councilor's to flinch before Sparatus realized what he said.

"That might actually work, come to think of it. Say the Migrant Fleet 'disappears' without a trace, unable to be located by the STG. You would be outside Council jurisdiction and laws." He said, and looked at Rael, and quickly started to type a message to one of the few turian patrol fleet leaders he knew he could trust with this.

"And you would just let us leave?" Rael asked incredulously.

"Of course not, but if you left without us knowing…" Sparatus shrugged, "How could we find you?" He said with a grin.

Rael, not believing it for a minute, started to smile as well, before turning back to the screen, "Indeed, though I believe such hypotheticals should be left for a later time."

The other councilors were shocked by this, but turned back to the screen as well, thinking over the ramifications of this conversation.

"Finishing up the Titans we have the Ronin. Wielding a shotgun known as the Leadwall." The voice said as it showed the three barreled weapon.

"It's one of the most effective, anti-infantry titan to date, capable of dashing in and out, even dashing through an alternate dimension known as the 'phase dimension' to dodge everything; its pilots usually always utilize hit and run tactics." the voice explained, showing off the Ronin reloading before dashing in, firing four times, before dashing literally through the enemy titan and behind them with the Phase Dash.

The video then showed the Ronin take a humongous blade off its back, "It's melee is one of the most feared among the Titan's, as they wield a massive broadsword, allowing it to also wield abilities such as Arc wave, which fry electronics, and it can even block it's cockpit with the weapon."

"Finally, its core ability amplifies the titan's already impressive speed and electrifies the broadsword, allowing it to become an untouchable monster on the battlefield."

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

Tali was practically drooling as she looked at the Titan before getting an idea, "Should I get a sword?"

"I'll teach you how to use it if you do." Wrex said with a grunt. When he got a questioning look from Garrus, he shrugged, "What? She's got enough problems as it is, the last thing she needs is to accidentally take her own hand off."

Tali ran over and hugged him, "Thank you, thank you, thank you! Favorite, Krogan, EVER!" She yelled, before freezing at the outburst of emotion, thoroughly embarrassed.

Wrex laughed as he patted the Quarians back before she went back to her seat before turning to Mordin, "So doc, what Titan do you want?" he asked.

Mordin thought about it for a moment, "I think the adaptability of the Monarch would be fairly interesting to play with." He said.

"Moving on to the small arms and troop armor, the latter was improved fairly well, once again being a bit thicker, as well as pilots receiving small, rechargeable energy shields," The voice started, showing off a pilot getting shot with white particle effects around him.

"but most weapons after the Frontier War were simply just improved, changing from purely powder propelled systems for most to electromagnetic systems. As such, they shoot much faster and can fit many more rounds into the magazine more effectively, not to mention it caused a revitalization of bolt action and lever action guns in the beginning of the improvements." The voice said as it showed off the various upgrades, even showing off the improved Kraber rifle, which now had a barrel similar to a Plasma railgun, the difference being a noticeable box mag and an actual barrel denoting it as a slug-firing weapon.

The voice then showed a picture of an L-STAR, causing some confused looks as they didn't see any place for a magazine, "The real improvements, however, were made to the energy weapons."

XX Citadel at Large XX

While they already knew the humans had titan held energy weapons and assumed they had ship based, they were further surprised they could make them this small.

Pictures of the L-STAR began circulating, wondering how it worked as multiple Salarians tried to make sense out of some of the moving parts, drawing conclusions because of the similarities between the moving disc in the back and the Ion's weapon.

"The L-STAR, otherwise known as the Lastimosa Armory Assault Rifle, is a particle accelerator rifle that fires bursts of the stuff, similar to the Ion's primary weapon, with rather messy results on kills." The voice said as it showed enemies literally exploding into chunks after enough rounds hit them.

"The weapon was improved by making the constantly overheating internals a bit tougher, and more easily replaceable for when they inevitably do fail. The battery size has also been improved by incredible proportions, meaning that you should only need to reload this weapon after days of on end fighting, and even then it's as simple as an Ion replacing its own weapon's battery." The voice explained as it showed all of these actions.

Showing a different weapon, this time a rather small weapon, "Another weapon that received improvement was the Volt SMG. It was based heavily on its propellant based ancestors, it utilizes strange and unique cartridges that contain a slug-like plastic case full of a mix of gasses and a miniature igniter that the battery in the gun hits, turning the cartridge to plasma as it travels down the electromagnetic barrel. The weapon is ideal for a medium range SMG as it has a slower rate of fire compared to most to deal with overheating. It was further improved by utilizing stronger magnets, high capacity magazines, and improved rate of fire with newer metals and alloys that are far more heat resistant." The video then showed it firing blue, almost tracer-like rounds.

Then, it shows another LMG, this one with a big box mag utilizing the same ammunition as the Volt, "The third energy weapon to be majorly improved after the war was the Devotion, which had the unique ability to speed up as you fired. The improvements were much the same, however it now could fire at full speed from the beginning, however doing so rapidly from mag to mag can quickly melt the barrel, meanwhile almost all of the recoil has been eliminated."

"Finally, a new addition was made to the armory in the form of a lever action, energy-based shotgun known as the peacekeeper." The voice said, showing off the shotgun and its star pattern.

XX Conference Room XX

"Strange, you'd think they'd have left those types of weapons in museums." Sparatus said as he saw the old lever actions and bolt actions. His own people's weapons started that way as well, but as soon as they had learned how to make auto-loading mechanisms the older ones were left to the wayside, just as the auto-loading ones were left behind in favor of mass accelerators.

"Indeed, though this gives me some ideas for how we could make our own energy weapons." Valern said, Rael nodding in agreement.

Rael continued, "Yes, why we never thought of looking backwards surprises me, especially since many of these might even be cheaper to make than a mass accelerator."

Tevos winced. While not a big fan of weaponry in general, she still used some on occasion, "They just seem so, inelegant." She concedes, unable to come up with a better word.

"For the next discussion, we're going to be going over the mechanical forces." The voice said as it showed a spectre and simulacrum side by side with a reaper in the background, the simulacrum obviously made from higher cost materials and many recognized it from some of the pilot videos.

"The SPECTRES are autonomous soldiers, all connected on a sort of 'tiered' level, where the basics 'grunts', are connected to a squad leader, each squad leader separate from other squad leaders, yet all connected to a higher rank, with the process repeating until the top of the pyramid is either an AI or a human issuing the commands." the voice explained, showing a diagram of said pyramid structure, as well as the different markings to denote said 'higher-ups'.

XX Conference Room XX

"Amazing, it's as if they took my people's idea of the geth, weaponized it, and then perfected it, effectively removing almost any way for a true AI to develop without outside interference." Rael said in awe as he fully planned to show Daro'Xen, the leader of the Science and R fleet about this.

"Indeed, if such a system were implemented, I would shudder to think about the size of the army a well supplied robotics company could make." Sparatus said, realizing just how Hammond Robotics and the IMC were able to field such a large force.

"Indeed." Tevos said, immediately thinking up more legislation and bills to prevent such a thing from ever happening, essentially neutering said robotics companies and private security firms that would ever attempt such a thing.

The video then showed a reaper, as well as a schematic, "Developed towards the end of the war after the fall of the Demeter shipyards, the Reaper is a mechanical monster. It has a high quality military-based VI made to calculate at incredible speeds in any combat situation. Its leg jump jets allow it decent mobility, and it sports armor that's almost completely immune to conventional small arms, requiring precise aim to internals for the average grunt to take down. On top of all this, it features direct-energy weapons strong enough to pose a serious threat to Titan levels of armor." The narrator explained, showcasing a single reaper relentlessly chasing a pilot, a lucky shot hitting said pilot off a wall, with the video ending right as the reaper was about to land on the unlucky person.

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

There were winces in sympathy at the thing, and Wrex started to get frustrated. His people could respect warriors afterall, but whoever made these reapers seems to have made them specifically to target the best on the battlefield, almost punishing being good in a fight.

Tali, while copying the schematics, noticed the brutality the reaper displayer, and made a note that such a machine should probably only be used against the geth.

"Finally, we have one of the Pilot's and human's form of immortality known as the Simulacrums the other being known as Regeneration, which effectively 'reset' the body of a pilot who was either wounded critically, or their body was simply getting to old and worn out, preserving most of the memories of the pilot, but none of the muscle memory." The voice said, causing many people's eyes to widen at the thought.

Showing both the phase and stim pilot, the voice continued, "A simulacrum is an incredibly expensive mechanical body of unknown make or internals, made with the purpose of uploading a digital copy of a deceased pilot's brain to it, preserving the memories, personality, and skills of said pilot. Such a thing can be counted as transhumanism." The voice explained, and translated for them.

XX Conference Room XX

"S-such a thing would be directly in violation of the Citadel Accords!" Tevos said in terror. The thought of an immortal soldier was terrifying for her, as such an idea would easily spread among her kind, with Justicar's and Commando's wanting to break down humanity's door for such technologies.

"Yes, but it is an appealing concept, if the process is done with their permission." Sparatus said. While he could value a good war asset, he started as a grunt to, just as every turian primarch and higher up, giving them a unique perspective about how their people should be treated.

XX Citadel at Large XX

The Krogan were cheering at the thought, immortal warriors that only got better over time. From then on, they vowed that unless the pilot was fine with dying, they would spare any one they could in a fight. After all, they could always use more worthy opponents.

For the Batarians, the want, no, need to raid was increased once again, many of them jealous of the idea of humanity having such technology. Why should they deserve it, after all?

The same thought was also shared by many permanently wounded veterans and older, now retired, career soldiers among the Citadel.

The Asari, though, had two distinct reactions. On one, the want to get humanity under their influence increased to try and stop such a thing, however the other side had matriarch's as well advocating such a thing for all races, many of said matriarch's having had or currently have lovers and significant others of other races that won't live as long as themselves.

XX T'soni's RoomXX

While Benezia's bondmate was an Asari, even she could not help but support the idea that humanity should share this technology, after all her little wing was going to find someone eventually, and she couldn't bare to think that her daughter would grow up, sad that she outlived her bondmate.

Liara, however, was ecstatic at the thought of all the history she could learn from an older human pilot, who probably lived through so many of the major historical events.

"This does come with a price however. While modern simulacrums usually recognize that they're robots, having remembered giving their permission to be one, they still try and forget and maintain their old habits from when they were humans, because if they don't it could lead to some rather violent consequences." the voice said, and then showed Revenant's story, about how he was an effective and deadly assassin that's been living for over 300 years, and he didn't even know it, his mind being wiped between every few contracts to keep up the lie, and when he finally found out, he went on a killing spree of all Hammond Robotics employees he could get his hands on, trying to kill his 'Frankenstein's' and find his source code to truly die, before obsessing over making Loba, the daughter of a high up Hammond target he killed, absolutely miserable for the rest of her life.

"For these reasons, there are two things that can be put into place. The first is a series of therapy sessions that allow people to come to terms with their situation. After the war, these were prioritized, along with creating more convincing artificial bodies and skin, along with artificial taste buds and food processors, so most Simulacrum can even eat, drink, and smoke, as well as experience being drunk or high. However, the other is called an Ego Retention System, changing any audio or visual hints to them being simulacrums into something else, and it's usually this system that has the most violent consequences."

XX Citadel XX

Suddenly, almost any want to steal this tech from humanity vanished when the story of Revenant became known, seeing the sociopathic assassin go to obsessive psychopath in just one instant.

XX Conference Room XX

Tevos was shaking at such a thing, "A-at least they're actively improving the lives of currently existing simulacras." She said, trying to look at the brightside.

"Yes, but that person, Revenant, we'll have to keep a close eye out for him." Sparatus said, making sure to take a picture.

"Agreed, though that shouldn't be hard. He seems to have a rather distinctive and incredibly advanced model of body compared to other simulacras." Valern said as he also took pictures of Revenant.

"Now, moving on to space-based tech, we're going to start with something big before going on to space ships." The narrator said, obviously very excited as it slowly zoomed in on a solar system.

The voice then showed off a massive space station, which looked like several Stanford Torus ring space stations stacked on top of each other, with a Central Pillar.

"This is Arcturus Station. Each ring has a radius of 7 kilometers, the pillar itself having a 4 kilometer radius, and is 36 kilometers tall. Inside, it holds over 5 million people, having a self-sustaining source of power from the sun with hundreds of fusion reactor back ups, food from the crops grown within, and water from effective water filters and a nearby asteroid and comet field. It's the capital of the Frontier Systems Alliance." The voice explained as it showed the insides, from the great fusion reactors with MRVNs helping repair it with engineers, to the great fields in the rings with Titans helping, and finally the bustling megalopolis that was the Pillar.

XX Conference Room XX

The Councilor's and Rael's eyes were wide as they beheld it all.

"They built their own Citadel, h-HOW?! The labor cost-" Tevos started to say before seeing the MRVNs and SPECTREs helping build and maintain pieces of the station.

XX Mordin's Clinic XX

"Now that's impressive." Garrus said as he saw the station. Looking through it, he wondered what it would be like to work there instead of the Citadel, and thought that it must have been easier, seeing as how you would really only need to patrol the pillar.

"Indeed, an intelligent way to use their automation." He said.

Wrex went back to his snack while wondering what kind of weapons the station might have to defend itself, his tactical mind already analyzing all of the curves and steep walls built around the station, the design obviously favoring how well a pilot can movin an urban environment.

XX Citadel at Large XX

Many were impressed by Arcturus Station, though equally as many were just as jealous.

The Turians could admire it, and like Wrex could see how anyone invading it would suffer a tactical nightmare with pilots inside.

The Salarians noticed the sheer amounts of servers, and realized that hacking such a station must be just as difficult as invading due to the AIs and possibly each ring and the pillar getting their own, independent servers.

The Batarians were looking less and less excited to go raiding for slaves.

Finally, the Asari were making up a majority of the jealous party, as while they were impressed, they also partially saw the station as an insult to the Citadel, as if the humans were mocking them by saying, 'Why would we need your station when we can just make our own?'

"Over the course of their colonization efforts, multiple stations were made, though this one was the biggest, and it was put directly in the center of their territory by the time of First Contact." The voice said and showed several smaller stations having less rings than this one, as well as miniature, mining stations over dead planets and inside asteroid fields.

"Finally, finishing up their tech would be their Starships. We're going to start small here with the Hornet fighters." The narrator showed a picture of one of the smaller, streamlined aircraft, looking somewhat like a mix of a MiG and a Harrier.

"The Hornet is an air-superiority fighter that is easily configurable to fill just about every role in atmospheric and exo-sphereic combat, capable of going between the two with ease. It is jump-capable, and single seated with the pilot being aided by a combat VI in place of a gunner. Its typical armaments, after the war, are large flechette cannons that can switch ammo between armor piercing and explosive tipped. They are also capable of hosting a variety of missiles on top of that for heavy targets such as enemy ships and titans." The voice said as it showed off the hornet easily outmaneuvering IMC Phantoms and dropships, dodging missiles with its guns blazing, the pilot only needing to press a button to change.

"The power sources for these vehicles are tritium fueled fusion reactors, the element mined en-mass from asteroid fields. If maintaining a steady, mild pace the fighter could fly for possible years on end, however they're typically always 'topped off' between engagements. Another feature of the fighters, are small tubes capable of hooking up to the pilot's specialized suit, which, when another button is pushed or a voice command given to the onboard VI, will administer combat stimulants for high stress situations, the stimulants used being a watered down version that Titan Pilots take, and will be flushed out through a secondary system of augments over the kidneys." the narrator said, showing off a Fighter Pilot's suit and the intake, going directly into heart like an adrenaline shot, before showing the outtake tube ports, which are directly over the kidneys.

XX Mordin's Cinic XX

"Hmm, interesting idea, though long term damage might still happen." Valern said, and Tali shuddered at the thought of adding things like that to her suit.

"Yeah, no thanks. I can't imagine how addictive those things must be." Garrus said. While there were some combat stims in the military, they were usually so watered down to prevent major negative effects that it was more like feeling the effects of a shot of espresso instantly than an adrenaline high.

"Probably enough that only a Krogan can take them without those augments." Wrex said as he viewed the area, remembering using some stimulants in high stress situations himself, as well as the god awful after effects he once suffered one all but one of his kidneys and livers shot. He was left in bed for a week after that, so to imagine humans, a species that most likely didn't have redundant organ systems to filter out most if not all of it, willingly putting their bodies through hell just to get an edge in combat, gave him even more respect for them.

XX Conference Room XX

"I feel as though these humans are turning the Citadel Accords into a checklist." Sparatus said, rubbing his eyes at the augmentation, the extensiveness of both the kidney and heart ones being just barely going against said accords, not to mention the use of such a high grade stimulant for military purposes, which was also illegal.

"The only ships comparable in size to the Hornet still in use are the Goblin dropships, used to deploy squads of pilots, grunts, and spectres in safer environments where drop pods aren't necessary, essentially acting as the 'shuttle' for the militia. For the Frigates, after the war they've since abandoned the use of repurposed civilian frigates, and are producing true militarized ones, and are on average 300 to 500 meters long, though lack armaments outside of traditional magnetic autocannons or energy based turrets, and typically travel in wolf packs of up to 6.

XX Conference Room XX

"Well, at least some combat doctrine remains the same." Sparatus said, hoping that some of their anti-frigate tactics would still work on these ones.

"Yes, but some of them are as big as cruisers, not to mention the energy turrets." Valern noted, as the classifications for frigates was anything from 150 meters to 400 meters, cruisers were 450 at minimum, and anything over a kilometer was a dreadnought.

"The increased size is most likely for armor, not to mention they're using mostly fusion and anti-particle energy generation, so they most likely don't need to worry about size constraints like we do." Rael said, taking more notes.

"They certainly aren't pretty to look at though." Tevos said as she watched the video reveal the admittedly clunky looking shops, though she didn't deny they also looked like they could take a hit.

Then, the video showed what must be a cruiser, "Coming up next, ranging from anywhere over 500 meters to below 1.5 kilometers, is the Cruiser class. They're made to take heavy beatings, supporting wolf packs of Frigates that aren't ready to charge or dreadnoughts and carriers that will hang back with their plasma railgun primaries, ripping weakened enemies that get too close to shreds with magnetic autocannons and particle accelerator turrets."

XX Citadel XX

The Citadel's currently present generals were wondering why the humans would make a thing like these 'carriers', seeing the large quantities of fighters as a waste, as their dreadnoughts could easily kill anything from far away without risking its own life.

They did, however, dread just how big the cruisers of humanity got, seeing several that were over a kilometer protecting even bigger ships that must be the dreadnoughts and mentioned carriers.

XX Conference Room XX

Valern sighed, "Once again, their automation is letting them punch above their weight class." He said, making more notes.

"Indeed, the sheer material cost alone of such a fleet would be horrible for us, but with the level of territory they possess and have full, independent control over, I don't doubt that such a thing might actually be common." Sparatus said with dread.

"We have to get them to sign the Treaty. We can't allow any power to have a force that big." Tevos pushed.

Rael, meanwhile, was getting smug behind his visor, "Bet you're all wishing you didn't push my people out now, huh?" He asked, getting a few glares.

"Finally, the typical size for their dreadnought and carrier ships reach over 1.5 kilometers." the voice said, showing off carriers in action that would skim the surface of planets before deploying drop pods and transport ships full of titans, pilots, reapers, and more troops, before returning to the fleets and letting loose fighter swarms, staying far out of any other ship's range.

XX Citadel XX

Jaws dropped at not only the effectiveness of such a vessel, but also got many generals to immediately request the construction of such vehicles, while also putting in words to the primarchs and matriarch council's to press the Council on adding the carrier class to the treaty of Farixen.

Then, the video showed an absolute monster of a ship, "The largest, and in a class of its own, is an experimental, 5 kilometer long, dreadnought-carrier hybrid capital ship known as the Wrath of Harmony." The voice said, military minds picking the image apart to guess the various armaments.

While the barrels of the primaries were obvious, though there was an ominous, different looking third barrel in the middle, the rest of the ship looked more like a huge target as there was a massive bay built for hundreds of hornet fighters towards the back of the ship. There were laser defenses and traditional automatic railgun mounts across the rest of the ship as well, showing it acted more as a flying fortress than a line breaker.

"What makes this beast such a force on the battlefield is a mix of things. The primary concern most notice are the 3.5 kilometer long, twin plasma railguns. The ship also features ample defenses from all angles, and is meant to sit in the very heart of a fleet. But its hidden weapon is by far the most devastating. Since the frontier wars, humanity had found an alien storage facility, containing more power sources such as the one used on Typhon. Combined with the data gained from said planet, a full scale fold weapon will be introduced to this ship." The voice announced, and showed the internal pieces and rings of the human-built fold weapon.

"The level of devastation allowed such a ship to create its own class, known as the Apocalypse-class capital ship. Thankfully, only one such powersource is going into use, the rest being studied in labs all over the frontier for possible future uses, and thus concludes this video about the tech of Titanfall." The voice said in an ominous tone as the video faded out.

XX Citadel XX

As the video ended, thousands of Asari were all but in a full scale debate on whether or not to even interact with humanity, evenly split between leaving them alone completely, trying to get them under their control, or just trying to be allies. The latter most of which being the most correct, afterall, this humanity didn't want to be controlled, and was more than willing to prove it.

Turians and Salarians, meanwhile, took this as an excuse to take to the Primarchs and Dalatrasses and push for either breaking out their own, old apocalypse level weapons, and fund any and all projects on new ones.

The Batarians wanted to steal that ship, and hearing that it was in construction started to give them hope that if they manage to steal such a thing, they could control the Galaxy and establish their 'rightful' rule. All they needed to do was take it from the militia. Ha, good luck.

The Krogan saw humanity as fun, and were more than happy to have them as their neighbors, many of the older and wiser Krogans seeing humanity like their own species, only they saw that this new species had far more wisdom than their ancestors.

XX Conference Room XX

"T-they wouldn't, no, they wouldn't destroy a garden world, would they?" Tevos asked, mostly herself but everyone heard it.

"If we push them too hard, I have no doubt in my mind that they would do so without hesitation." Sparatus said as he gazed upon the half built ship with no small amount of dread.

"Indeed, which means we should either prevent the construction of such a thing, or remain on humanity's good side." He said. He was silently cursing that humanity had spread the Alien Power Sources out, as such a thing would probably entail the sheer difficulty of even finding one, let alone getting it.

"Regardless, this was only one humanity, if an intriguing one. It's not set in stone just yet, and you should probably tell your people that." Rael said, pointing at security feeds of c-sec holding off mobs of reporters trying to get into the council's tower.

Author's Note: Hello everybody. Remember when I thought that this chapter was going to be shorter? Well I was dead. Fucking. WRONG. I underestimated just how much detail there was on a lot of Titanfall's stuff, as well as the plot hole I accidentally almost created by saying that there was such a large time gap between the Frontier War and first contact.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, sorry, once again, if you all thought it was too lengthy. For the next reaction I'm actually going to do something short, most likely Evolve as I don't have to explain as much and it would just generally be more for fun. After that, I'm still stuck between trying to describe Cyberpunk's history and tech, Gears of War's stuff, or Halo's, because I did promise trailers, detailed history, detailed tech, and a first contact teaser on top of all the reactions.
