Spyro, Ignitus, Aquafa and Sparx were in the room with the Pool Of Visions in the Dragon Temple along with Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, Zap, Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, Cyril, Liefvos, and Siltia.

Then Spyro told Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, Cyril, Liefvos, and Siltia that Whirlwind left the Dragon Temple, who all became worried about her.

Then Ignitus looked in the Pool Of Visions for sixty seconds but found nothing.

"See anything, Ignitus?" Spyro asked.

"No, I can't see where Whirlwind has gone… just darkness." Ignitus said while Spyro made a worried face while he was looking at the pool.

"Wait. Whirlwind… darkness… aren't they the same thing?" Sparx asked.

"What's this? Something is coming into focus." Ignitus said.

Then the tree from Spyro's dreams appeared in the pool with Spyro at the base of the tree.

"This is peculiar. I see you… at the base of a great tree… Amidst a lake of mist and gloom." Ignitus said.

Then Spyro got excited.

"A tree! I've seen that tree in my dreams!… In my dreams… (somber) only they usually feel more like nightmares…" Spyro said.

Then Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, Zap, Ignitus, Aquafa, Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, Cyril, Liefvos, and Siltia looked at Spyro with a glare.

"Young dragon… you've been keeping secrets. What is it you see… in these dreams of yours?" Ignitus asked sternly.

"Yes, what is it you see in these dreams of yours?" Aquafa asked sternly.

"You have some nerve to keep secrets from us and the Guardians, so tell us… what is it you see in these dreams of yours?" Ronald and Cynder asked sternly.

"Ronald and Cynder are right, Spyro, that it was really wrong to keep secrets from us and the Guardians, so tell us… what is it you see in these dreams of yours?" Sunburn, Camo, and Zap asked sternly.

Then Sparx went to Spyro and he was not happy either.

"I'm sorry, Ignitus, Aquafa, and my friends… I thought they would go away… but they only get worse…" Spyro said.

"Relax, Spyro. Think." Ignitus said.

"Yes, relax and think, Spyro." Aquafa said.

Then Spyro closed his eyes and then relaxed and thought about his dreams.

"I keep seeing… a mountain draped in shadow… a face of stone beneath two moons… and darkness…" Spyro said.

"The mountain of Malefor." Ronald and Cynder said.

Then lighting flashes.

"Whoa… Am I the only one that thought that was weird?" Sparx asked, looking around.

Then Spyro opened his eyes.

"…there was another… but it was more like I was seeing into the past and the future all at once… And there was a voice… calling himself the Chronicler. That's when I saw the tree." Spyro said.

"Impossible." Terrador and Minerallayas said.

"Yes, it is impossible." Ronald and Cynder said.

Then Sparx flew four steps forward and then turned slightly left.

"Yeah, no kidding. There isn't even a storm!" Sparx said, still looking around.

"The Chronicler?" Cyril asked.

Then Sparx went to Cyril.

"What!? Don't encourage him." Sparx said.

Then Sparx went back to Spyro and then turned around.

"I don't believe it either. I've not heard that name in ages." Volteer said.

"We have never heard that name for a long time too." Liefvos and Siltia said.

"Us either." Ronald and Cynder said.

"And that goes for us too." Sunburn and Camo said.

"Nor has anyone. But there is no way that Spyro could have known. This is fascinating." Ignitus said.

"Yes, it really is fascinating." Aquafa said.

"Who is the Chronicler?" Spyro asked.

"The Chronicler is an ancient dragon of immeasurable wisdom. Though I've only heard stories. In fact, I've had my doubts as to the legitimacy of the tales. Yet, now I am left to wonder…" Ignitus said.

"As we are all. But if it is true, it is unsettling that the reemergence of the Chronicler will coincide with an attack on the temple. And not to mention these other visions that Spyro is having." Terrador said.

"I agree with Terrador about this." Minerallayas said.

"Yes, tales of the Chronicler are often interwoven with tales of doom." Ignitus said.

"I agree with Ignitus." Aquafa said.

"Oh, goodie! I was afraid that we might have to spend the rest of the night without any more doom." Sparx said sarcastically.

"And this attack on the Dragon Temple was led by the Assassin who was ordered to do this attack by Haul and the Dark Army is called Haul's forces now." Spyro said.

"Where did you learn that from?" Ignitus asked.

"I learned it from the Chronicler's voice in my dreams before I battled the Assassin. The Chronicler told me that Haul was posing as Cynder's general before I defeated Cynder and then told me that Haul was posing as Ronald's general before I defeated Ronald and then told me that Haul was posing as Whirlwind's general before I defeated Whirlwind while he was the Leader Of The Apes the whole time. Is that true?" Spyro asked.

"Yes, that's true. Haul was the Leader Of The Apes the whole time. But there is more behind Haul than you know. I think it's time you learned who Haul actually works for." Ignitus said.

"There's more to Haul than I know?" Spyro asked.

"Yes, there is. Remember what I told you about the first raid?" Ignitus asked.

"Yes, I do." Spyro asked.

"There is more to it than you know. I know I said that it was the Dark Master's forces who raided the Dragon Temple and then Whirlwind's egg was stolen by the Dark Master's forces but do you know who led the first raid on the Dragon Temple, defeated me, Aquafa, Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, and Cyril and stole Whirlwind's egg?" Ignitus asked.

"No." Spyro answered.

"It was none than the Ape King himself who led the first raid on the Dragon Temple, defeated me, Aquafa, Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, and Cyril and stole Whirlwind's egg." Ignitus said.

"Who's the Ape King?" Spyro asked.

"The Ape King is the boss of all the Apes so the Ape King is the true leader of the Apes. Haul actually works for the Ape King." Ignitus said.

"So that means that Haul is the Ape General and is the Ape King's second-in-command, correct?" Spyro asked.

"That's correct, Spyro." Ignitus said.

"But first, we need to make what the Chronicler said is true and we can do that by going outside." Aquafa said.

"My wife, Aquafa, is right, Spyro. So we need to go outside. Come on." Ignitus said.

Then Spyro, Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, Zap, Ignitus, Volteer, Cyril, Terrador, Aquafa, Minerallayas, Liefvos, and Siltia went to the Grotto.

Then Spyro, Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, Zap, Ignitus, Volteer, Cyril, Aquafa, Minerallayas, Liefvos, Siltia, and Sparx looked at the sky and saw the two Celestial Moons closer to each other.

"It was only a matter of time, Ignitus. We've all felt it. A great evil is on the horizon." Volteer said.

"Perhaps, but we mustn't rush to judgement. This evening has brought about many unexplained things." Ignitus said.

"We may not have time, Ignitus. The Celestial Moons are almost at an eclipse, this we know for certain. We must prepare for the worse. The Night Of Eternal Darkness draws nigh." Cyril said.

"If "nigh" means soon, I'm outta here!" Sparx said.

"Your instincts, though faint of heart, are true. We are no longer safe here. This recent attack is likely to be the first of many. The forces of the Ape King know of Spyro's existence and will not rest until they witness his demise." Terrador said.

"Demise." Sparx said, mimicking Terrador.

Then Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, Zap, Ignitus, Aquafa, Terrador, Minerallayas, Volteer, Cyril, Liefvos, and Siltia looked at Sparx with a glare.

"Hehehe… Hate to be you…" Sparx said.

Then Sparx turned around.

"What? You guys need to lighten up." Sparx said.

"I'm afraid that Terrador is right." Ignitus said.

Then Spyro turned around.

Then Ignitus and Aquafa walked two steps forward and then stopped.

"As uncertain as things are, none of us can remain idle and……watch our worst fears unfold before us." Ignitus said.

"Exactly! We need a good hiding place." Sparx said.

"Volteer, you and Cyril must go to the mainland to learn what news you can." Ignitus said.

Volteer and Cyril nodded.

"Terrador and Minerallayas, make haste to the Shattered Vale and warn the inhabitants of that region that darkness is spreading in Malefor." Ignitus said.

Terrador and Minerallayas nodded.

"Liefvos and Siltia, make haste to the Cracked Dale and warn the inhabitants of that region that darkness is spreading in Malefor." Ignitus said.

Liefvos and Siltia nodded.

"Aquafa, I want you to go the Rocky Gully and warn inhabitants of that region that darkness that darkness is spreading in Malefor and then return to the Dragon Temple." Ignitus said.

Aquafa nodded.

"Ronald, I want you, your girlfriend, Cynder, and your friends, Sunburn, Camo, and Zap, to go to Baram Village and warn those citizens that darkness is spreading in Malefor and then go to Pegasus Village, Lochness Village, Griffin Village, Dinosaur Village, Phoenix Village, Plant Village, Dragon Village, and Unicorn Village to warn their own citizens that darkness is spreading in Malefor and don't forget to warn the Crystal Gears' Guardians, Lifeya, and Deathsa that darkness is spreading in Malefor and then go the Gem Campgrounds." Ignitus said.

Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, and Zap nodded.

"I shall stay back and search for Whirlwind. These are dangerous times for a unicorn and dragon hybrid to be wandering about." Ignitus said.

Then Spyro became sad because he really wanted to help search for Whirlwind.

"May our ancestors look after us and keep us safe… in these dark times." Ignitus said.

"What should I do, Ignitus?" Spyro asked.

"Young dragon, you must travel by another path and seek out the tree from your dreams. If the stories of the Chronicler are true, then there may be hope for us yet…and I think I know where to begin." Ignitus said.

Spyro nodded.

"Ronald and Cynder, I know you don't trust Whirlwind because of all she's done but try to think about it from her perspective and if you were in her shoes, okay?" Spyro asked, calmly and gently.

"Okay, Spyro, we will think about that." Ronald and Cynder said.

"And can you please think about that too, Sunburn, Camo, and Zap?" Spyro asked, calmly and gently.

"Okay, Spyro, we will think about that." Sunburn, Camo, and Zap said.

"Good, since you three stole the Crystal Gears… Oops." Spyro said.

Cynder looked at Sunburn, Camo, and Zap with a glare.

"You stole the Crystal Gears?!" Cynder asked.

"Yes, we did." Sunburn, Camo, and Zap answered.

"We will talk about that later in the Gem Campgrounds and then tell me and Ronald everything." Cynder demanded.

"Yes, Cynder." Sunburn, Camo, and Zap said.

"Sorry, Sunburn, Camo, and Zap." Spyro said.

"It's okay, Spyro. Cynder needed to know that anyway. But who told you that we were wicked, vicious, and selfish?" Sunburn, Camo, and Zap asked.

"Ignitus did." Spyro said.

"Then why didn't you tell us?" Sunburn, Camo, and Zap, sobbing.

"Because Ignitus told me not to tell you that and please don't cry." Spyro answered.

Then Sunburn, Camo, and Zap stopped sobbing.

"Why didn't you want Spyro to tell us that you told him that we were wicked, vicious, and selfish?" Sunburn, Camo, and Zap asked.

"Because I didn't want you to run away after Spyro came back with the three of you like what Cynder and Ronald did and like Whirlwind has done now." Ignitus said.

Sunburn, Camo, and Zap nodded in understanding.

"Now, let me tell you where you need to begin. There is an Ancient Grove within the forest at the end of the Silver River. It is a secret place, untouched by civilization. The waters there are poisonous, as well as the creatures who are nurtured by it… but you shouldn't encounter any real danger, Spyro. Trust your instincts." Ignitus said.

Then Ronald gives Spyro a special mirror and Spyro takes it.

"This is a special mirror from my parents. They got it from a unicorn and dragon couple that ended the feud between unicorns and dragons eight hundred years ago and they passed it down to me." Ronald said

"But why are you giving me this if it is yours, Ronald?" Spyro asked.

"Because that mirror is the Enemy Describer. It will tell you about the enemies that are in the Ancient Grove but it will not tell you if you find enemies that are outside of that territory. I am giving you this mirror because Cynder and I won't be there to help you and I want to keep you safe from those creatures." Ronald answered.

"But won't Cynder get jealous?" Spyro asked.

"Don't worry, Spyro, I won't get jealous. Ronald told me that you and him were hanging out as friends and I just jumped to a conclusion back then, but now Ronald and I are boyfriend and girlfriend, thanks to you, and while you are Ronald's second best friend, you are my third best friend because Zap is already my second best friend. But you better not lose that mirror." Cynder said.

"How do you activate this mirror anyway?" Spyro asked.

"Just knock on it." Ronald answered.

Then Spyro knocked on the mirror and the mirror became alive and went up in the air.

"Hello, Spyro. I am the Enemy Describer. I will tell you about the enemies that you encounter in the Ancient Grove but only the creatures who live in that place." The Enemy Describer said.

"Ahhhhhhh! The mirror is alive!" Sparx said.

"Wow! This is an amazing mirror!" Spyro said.

"But how do you know my name?" Spyro asked.

"Ronald and Cynder told me about you and how you helped them get together as boyfriend and girlfriend." The Enemy Describer answered.

"Why did Ronald tell me to activate you now?" Spyro asked.

"Because Cynder told you not to lose it and if you do lose me, then Cynder will give you a harsh consequence and you don't want to learn that consequence. With me being alive, you can't lose me, so you won't learn that consequence." The Enemy Describer said.

"And the Enemy Describer will follow you everywhere, except when you go to a dream when you are summoned by the Chronicler." Ronald said.

"But won't the mirror get damaged by attacks from the enemies or other dragons?" Spyro asked.

"No, it won't. The glass is made of a diamond, pearl, platinum, and titanium, four of the strongest gems in the world and it is also made by magic which prevents the mirror from getting damaged and destroyed." Cynder said.

"That's true, Spyro." The Enemy Describer said.

"Then I'm ready to go!" Spyro said.

Then Spyro turned back around.

Then Spyro flew off and headed to the Ancient Grove while Volteer and Cyril flew off and headed to the mainland while Terrador and Minerallayas flew off and headed to the Shattered Vale while Liefvos and Siltia flew off and headed to the Cracked Dale while Aquafa flew off and headed to the Rocky Gully while Ronald, Cynder, Sunburn, Camo, and Zap flew off and headed to Baram Village.

"I shall be waiting here at the temple when your task is complete." Ignitus said to Spyro.

What's going to happen next?

Stay tuned to find out!

Note: Ronald and Cynder know about Malefor and the Mountain of Malefor but never actually saw him or his mountain.

Other Note: Ronald and Cynder don't know about the Scavengers and do not get captured by them. The same thing goes for Sunburn, Camo, and Zap.
