Chapter 52: A Rival Approaches

England, 1755…

The sun was setting as Naruto (Age 426) blocked Zest's punch, feeling enough force to break the bones of a human as he countered.

Naruto was wearing training pants, his body soaked in sweat as he smiled at his student.

'She is definitely like Sakura and Tsunade in power.' Naruto thought fondly of his teammate and grandma figure as he stared at his student.

Zest (Age 122) huffed tiredly as she was pushed to the side again.

She had grown significantly over the last one hundred and twenty plus years. She stood at five feet two inches. Her body was filling out slowly, showing that she was becoming a beauty in her own right. She may be over one hundred and twenty, but at a glance anyone would see a healthy fifteen-year-old.

She was currently wearing gi pants with her breasts bound with tight wrappings, her skin soaked in sweat from her training.

'Damn it, I need to get him off balance!' She thought as she made the hand signs for Snake, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Tiger, Dragon, Ox, Dog, Tiger.

"Fire Style: Flame Bullet!" Zest shouted as her cheeks puffed out before expelling the basic fire ball technique.

'Zest sure is better at hand signs than I am.' Naruto thought as he jumped to avoid the flame bullet. 'Thank you Ophis for showing her multiple Earth and Fire Jutsu's you saw while watching the Indra and Ashura reincarnations before Sasuke and I.'

'NOW!' Zest thought as she made the hand signs for Dog, Snake, Horse, Tiger, Snake, Dog, Tiger.

"Earth Style," Zest shouted as she slammed her hands to the ground, making Naruto raise an eyebrow. "Fissure."

Naruto's eyes snapped open as the ground under him caved in for roughly a mile in length, falling into a deep chasm, wide enough for any adult to fall into.

Since he was midair, and not in Six Paths Sage Mode, Naruto felt straight through the chasm.

"Oh, shit!" Zest shouted as she ran to the edge of the crevasse, looking in. "SENSEI!"

Naruto's hand whipped out and grabbed Zest's shoulder, pulling her into the small chasm.

Zest's eyes widened as her heart seized up.

A shrill scream ruptured from her throat as she grabbed onto Naruto's arm tightly, gasping for air as her eyes snapped shut.

Realizing what he had done, Naruto exited the chasm and pulled Zest into a hug.

"I am so sorry, Zest." Naruto apologized as he ran his hand through her hair to rub her back.

Zest felt sweaty, with shortness of breath, nigh incredibly difficult to breath. Her throat felt like it was choking itself and her, not helped heart beating rapidly inside what felt like a tight chest.

She felt her body tremble with chills piercing her muscles before her stomach became full of butterflies.

Within Naruto's embrace, Zest felt warm and loved. Her tight shut eyes relaxed as her breathing became easier.

"It…" Zest choked out. "It was an accident…"

"I think it's about time we call it a day, dinner should be ready soon anyway." Naruto said as he kicked the ground, sealing up the fissure.

Zest didn't budge, taking time to recover.

'I forgot she is claustrophobic.' Naruto thought as he comforted her, feeling her shaking in his arms.

Zest's breathing slowly evened out as she calmed down.

"Okay, Sensei, I am ready for lunch." She said, dabbing her eyes carefully, since her fingers were clawed.

Naruto nodded.

"You are getting better, but this was taijutsu only, and you used a jutsu. Perfectly executed, by the way." Naruto lightly scolded and praised in the same time, making Zest perk up.

She smiled as they walked to their small camp.

"So, when will I be able to learn Lava Style or Sage mode?" Zest asked in a childish manner.

"When you are ready." Naruto replied, chuckling as he remembered how Yasaka had acted when she wanted to learn senjutsu.

Zest pouted.

"You always say that." She grumbled.

"Oh, I think I remember a little girl who erupted in a human village once…" Naruto retorted, making Zest blush in embarrassment as she remembered that day forty-six years prior.

"Hey, that's not fair, I didn't have the control I do know!" Zest stated.

Naruto's hand patted her head, ruffling her hair.

"I'll start teaching you in a few more years. Just have some patience as it is a virtue." Naruto said wisely as he removed his hand.

"Okay, Sensei." Zest replied, avoiding his gaze, her cheeks still red.

"She want's that mad god dick!" Shukaku stated lecherously with a perverted giggle.

Naruto deadpanned as the rest of the tailed beasts, except Son, laughed their asses off.

"Hey, assholes, that's my daughter!" Son stated in anger.

"I don't think anyone would be worthy of her, EXCEPT Naruto." Chomei pointed out.

Naruto cut the connection to the beasts, rolling his eyes with pink in his cheeks.

"When is Ophis coming back?" Zest asked in curiousness. "I want to learn more jutsu."

"Well, we will ask her when she comes back." Naruto said as he scratched the back of his head. "You know Ophis, she comes around whenever she wants to."

Zest became sad.

'I like it when she shows me jutsu.' Zest thought, thinking of the small mirror like portal made of Ophis's magic that would show her techniques that Naruto didn't know.

'I am grateful, but I wish Ophis would tell me what is going on. Like who is giving her those harsh injuries.' Naruto thought as they breached the clearing of their camp.

"Welcome back!" Lucoa (Age 441) called out as she sat next to a fire with a kettle full of Miso soup she had made, beside it was several fish cooking.

Lucoa wore a grass-green haori with the kanji for "Rainbow" on the back, inside a red circle. Underneath she wears a grey, kimono-style blouse with no sleeves, held closed by a broad, dark bluish-grey obi that matches her pants. Her blouse is closed quite low, revealing her sizeable cleavage. She wears open-toed, strappy black sandals with high heels.

"How was training?" Hilda (Age 430) asked as she approached them, exiting the tent.

Hilda wore a long bluish-black kimono with white trimmings, held closed by a white obi, and open-toed sandals with low heels.

"Tiring, and we need a stamina boost." Naruto told Hilda, kissing her cheek before going to the fire and kissing Lucoa.

"Understood." Hilda said as she walked over to the small area they had set up as the 'Kitchen' and retrieved a small bag.

"I'm starving…" Zest groaned as she sat down, eyeing the soup.

"Here is your food, Naruto had it made earlier before the two of you started training this morning." Hilda said as she handed Zest a small bag of food.

Zest smiled brightly as she accepted the bag, opening to what the food was before her eyes started twitching.

"What the fuck is this?" She asked in disgust before wincing in pain as Hilda grabbed her ear and pinched it.

"Language young lady." Hilda stated strictly as she pulled, giving Zest's ear a hard twist. "I taught you better manners than that."

"OWOWOWOWOW, I'M SORRY!" Zest apologized, earning h er freedom.

"What's going on?" Lucoa asked in confusion as she didn't see anything wrong with Zest's meal. "Is it spoiled?"

"What is this?" Zest asked as she held out the food.

"Rainbow Larva Balls." Naruto stated nonchalantly as he put sat down between Zest and Lucoa while Hilda sat across from him.

"Okay, but why?" Zest asked with a questioning look, hoping it was a joke.

"Hey, don't shoo it until you choo it." Naruto said as he leaned toward her and snagged one of the larva balls, and ate it.

The audible crunch sent a chill down Zest's spine as she watched her teacher eat the bugs.

"Ah, that reminds me of the old days." Naruto said with a pleased face and a look of remembrance. "Good thing Granny Shima taught me some of her recipes."

"YOU ATE BUGS!" Hilda and Zest shouted in shock.

"I have eaten bugs before, pretty good when cooked correctly." Lucoa said with a questioning tilt of her head. "What's the problem?"

"EW!" Zest shouted, crossing her arms before her chest, both hands having fingers crossed to ward of germs.

"Oh, come on, its not as gross as you think." Naruto said as he took another one and ate it. "Keep this up and your lunch will be gone before you can eat."

"This is all I get?" Zest asked as Naruto munched on the second larva ball.

"Well, we are still training, so yes." Naruto said as he finished eating.

Wallowing in pity and disgust, Zest took a larva ball, bringing it to her mouth.

With a heavy, and hesitant, swallow, Zest took a bite.

She spun in her seat and lunged toward the bushes, the larva balls hitting the ground before she started vomiting the contents of her mouth and stomach acid into them.

"Well, that is a waste." Naruto mumbled as he poured four bowls of soup.

As Zest finished hurling, the sun had finished setting, leaving only the fire and a few torches lit by Naruto's clones as the only visible light.

Zest stood up and stretched.

"GYAAAH." She moaned as her muscles popped, yawning half way through. "I'm going to bed…"

"Night, Zest." Naruto said as he waved good night.

Zest lazily waved back before she went to the tent, falling asleep instantly.

"Naruto," Hilda said in a serious tone laced with concern as the fire cracked, sending sparks into the air. "I think we need to talk about Zest."

"What about her?" Naruto asked calmly, throwing another log onto the fire.

"While you two were training, Hilda and I had a talk, and we are concerned Zest might be a bit lonely." Lucoa said as she looked at Naruto.

"So, you saying she wants a friend?" Naruto asked stupidly.

"Yes, I think if she makes a few friends, she will be able to mature and become social, gaining skills we can't teach her." Hilda explained, smiling that Naruto got it.

"Okay, so the next kid that is a hundred and twenty we meet will be her friend." Naruto replied sarcastically, getting glares of disapproval.

"We don't mean someone like that, I mean a human friend." Hilda stated. "She looks like a fifteen-year-old girl, just have her hide her horns and tail and she will be seen as one."

Naruto cupped his chin in thought.

"I agree, but it will be heartbreaking for Zest when they pass away, or worse." Naruto replied, not wanting Zest to really experience that feeling, but knew it would happen sooner or later. "Tomorrow, we will go into town and set up shop for a short while."

Lucoa and Hilda smiled, leaning into Naruto's shoulders, enjoying the stars and moon.

Next Day, Inner Town Square…

"WOOOOW!" the crowd said in unison as Lucoa dazzled them with her magic.

Her hair was tied in a loose bun, allowing it show its natural waviness, as she wore a red and black outfit with puffy shoulders, wrists, and ankles. The classic Harlequin.

Her pure magic taking the form of smoke wisps, reflecting the light within it like mist giving them a beautiful rainbow shine as they took the forms of humans dancing with animals.

Beside her was Naruto, who was juggling chakra made balls of blue and black fire, courtesy of Matatabi, before he caught them all and sent them flying amongst the crowd, leaning back to spew a bright orange flame before recalling the balls of fire.

Naruto had a transformation jutsu giving him the appearance of a jester, multicolored and the goofy hat, much to his dislike but it didn't matter.

Naruto took three steps back, bumping into Lucoa, both of them smiling as they turned, taking each other by the hands.

"We are not even done yet." Naruto announced as the wisps of smoke and the fire ended.

"Because we have some friends who want to party!" Lucoa announced.

Naruto released Lucoa's hand and made the signs for Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram.

"Have a sample of the Whirlpool Circus!" Naruto announced as he slammed his hand to the floor.

The crowd closed their eyes as a large puff of smoke enveloped Naruto and Lucoa.

A lion like roar permeated the air as the cloud dispersed.

Matatabi, in her normal form but the size of a Lion, posed before the crowd. Her flame like body dazzling the crowd even more before she jumped into the air, did a flip, before landing on her front paws, walking on them.

Beside her, Son was the size of a gorilla in his usual form, as he jugged a bottle of liquid before spitting out emerald flames safely into the air, earning much applauds.

Next to Son, was Shukaku, who took the form of Gaara.

Using his sand creatively, Shukaku was altering his shape into different animals, people, and anything he could hear from the crowd with his hearing.

With the help of Matatabi, they hyper heated the sand.

Following this with Isobu, in the form of Kagura, summoning water to quickly cool the heated sand down to reveal perfectly accurate Glass Sculptures.

Beside them, Zest, dressed in a conservative dress (Which was a transformation jutsu) and Hilda, who wore a suit of armor.

In the arms of Hilda, Zest was 'passed out' and Hilda held her, pontificating her love was not enough, acting out the scene.

The crowd cheered.

"And there will be more, in three days in the forest will be," Naruto said as he flourished with a bow, followed up with smoke bombs that released confetti and doves. "THE WHIRLPOOL CIRCUS!"

The crowd cheered, all who watched were excited for the idea of a circus.

Many tossed coins into a hat that Naruto had put up, in case they wanted to donate.

"Are we really going to be throwing a circus?" Kurama asked in irritation.

'Of course.' Naruto said as he waved at the crowd as he used the Shadow Clone Jutsu to replicate himself, pretending to be shocked at his doppelganger's. 'I am a man of my word, Kurama. We need the money, and we will earn it the honest way.'

Kurama groaned, rubbing his temples.

"It won't be that bad, Kurama." Saiken said as he was giddy about his performance.

"DRAGONS!"

Town square went silent as a small family barreled into it.

"THERE ARE TWO DRAGONS FIGHTING!"

"RUN!"

'NOOOOOOOOOO!' Naruto mentally shouts as the towns people run.

Acting quickly, Lucoa grabbed the hat of money as Naruto dispelled the summoning jutsu.

"Come on, let's go." Naruto said as he and Zest dropped their transformations, the running citizens not noticing due to their panic.

Lucoa and Hilda agreed, discarding their outfits for their usual battle retire.

Entering sage mode, Naruto deduced the location of the Dragons, opening his Rinne-Sharingan and opening a portal.

Meanwhile…

"DIE, FAILURE OF A WHITE DRAGON!" the current Red Dragon Emperor shouted as he punched the White Dragon Emperor.

Gasping loudly, the WDE puked in his helmet as he was sent into the ground, his organs shaking within his body as his lungs had no air in them.

"It seems this host was a bad choice, Albion." Ddraig spoke through the green gem on the back of the RDE's left hand as the RDE floated down to the ground gracefully.

"N-no…" the WDE gasped as his lungs were able to get oxygen. "I have… I won't stop until…"

The RDE stomped on the WDE's right shoulder, shattering it completely.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

The RDE smiled as he boosted his power once more, raising his fist.

"Next time, Albion, choose a better host!" the RDE shouted as he went to kill the WDE, only for his hand to get impaled by a black rod.

"WHAT IS THIS!" RDE shouted as he gripped his hand, pain shooting through his arm like fire.

Naruto, Lucoa, Hilda, and Zest appeared, with Naruto's hand extended with his palm visible.

"The three of you," Naruto stated calmly with a hint of anger as his eyes narrowed. "Stay out of this."

"Sen…" Zest started to say before Hilda silenced her with a hand on her shoulder.

"Of course, Naruto." Hilda replied as Lucoa gave a nod of agreement, which went unseen by Naruto.

"Who the hell are you!" the RDE shouted, teeth grit as he couldn't move his hand.

"You two…" Naruto said, ignoring the RDE. "I never wanted to see you too ever again, Two Heavenly Dragons."

Albion and Ddraig took interest.

"What are you talking about?" Albion asked as his user slowly stood up.

Naruto stayed silent.

Flashback…

Naruto's body became cold as Albion and Ddraig got up, wailing and roaring in agony as they stood up, their anger focused solely on Naruto.

"PETULANT CHILD!" Ddraig shouted as he gathered his magic, glowing green.

"FOR THIS INSULT, YOU SHALL DIE!" Albion roared as his blue magic covered his body.

Albion and Ddraig finished charging their attacks and fired their magic from their mouths, the magic from each dragon meeting and merging together to eradicate everything into ash.

Before any lives could flash before someone's eyes, Iroh appeared before Naruto, arm extended and connecting with the immense power Ddraig and Albion had used.

"Grandpa…" Naruto called out weakly, his eyes widening a bit as he realized what Iroh was doing. "Hey…"

Naruto witnessed Iroh as he finished assimilating the attack into himself, magic and chakra cracking across his body as blood floated through the air with chunks of muscle and skin.

"Grandpa…" Naruto called out as he reached forward weakly.

Iroh made his hand move the magic through his torso to his left arm, further ruining his body, biting his lips with his teeth very hard to keep focus.

"Grandpa!" Naruto shouted as Iroh pointed his left hand at the stunned dragons.

"Naruto…" Iroh said in massive amounts of pain as blood sprayed from his mouth and into his beard. "I love you, and tell Tamamo that I love her too."

"GRANDPA!" Naruto shouted as he finally made his legs move to stop Iroh.

Iroh set his stance, and let loose the magic he had gathered, thrusting his right arm forward with his index and middle finger.

The dragonic magic burst from Iroh's fingers as Lightning chakra, splitting into two paths as they left his body.

Ddraig was struck in the face as Albion was impaled through the chest, both electrocuted with their own magic which they couldn't counter.

Iroh felt his vision blur as his body lost all feeling.

Holes covered his arms and torso as blood leaked from them as he ran out of blood, making him lose his balance.

Flashback End…

"The Faction War…" Naruto stated darkly as he raised his hands.

The two were pulled forward by an unseen force and into Naruto's hands, which grabbed their helmets with enough power to shatter their helmets, revealing their faces.

"I watched helplessly as you two attacked me, with my grandfather taking the blow. His body was in so much pain, but he forced it to redirect your magic into lightning back at you." Naruto told them, his Sage Mode eyes gaining the Plus symbol as he instinctively drew upon Kurama's chakra. "Opening the opportunity for the faction leaders to kill you."

Albion and Ddraig searched their memories.

So many hosts since the day of their initial slaying, so many battles, and so many victories or defeats.

"You…" Albion gasped through the gems on the WDE's Armor. "You were the one who interrupted our fight that day."

"The shuriken…" Ddraig gasped out as he remembered that fact.

"Good, you remember me." Naruto stated as he looked the WDE and the RDE in the eyes.

His hands began to squeeze the heads of the users.

Naruto released them, letting both of them drop.

Confused, they looked at Naruto.

"Beat it." Kurama spoke through Naruto, having forcibly taken over. "But if we see you again, Naruto will kill you."

The RDE growled, shooting up with his wings unfurled.

"I'LL REMEMBER THIS!" He shouted as he flew off. "BLAMRO BELMONT WILL BE BACK TO KILL YOU!"

'Great, another Belmont.' Hilda thought in irritation at the now named Blamro Belmont.

Kurama turned his head to the White Dragon Emperor.

"Did you not hear me? Leave." Kurama stated.

"I can't move…" He said tiredly, reaching out with a shaky hand. "Can… is it okay… if I can get some help?"

Kurama didn't immediately respond, feeling Naruto within trying to get control again.

"Fine, Lucoa, heal the loser." Kurama stated as he turned and walked toward their camp. "Zest, come with me."

Lucoa and Hilda went to the injured boy, helping him up as Zest looked between them and Naruto before promptly following Kurama.

Chapter 52, DONE!

Lucoa is wearing Tsunade's clothing and Hilda is dressed as Shizune.

I loved writing this chapter. The ending is a bit weak, but it is worth it.

Like, why would Kurama spare the users of Ddraig and Albion, who were responsible for the death of Iroh. The tailed beasts ARE aware and understand Naruto's feelings better than anyone, so why?

It will make sense next chapter.

Also, started a rewrite of Werefox of Bael, called Kitsune of Bael. I know, real clever name, but it is a good start.
