Author Note: Here's my first attempt at writing Loki. I hope you like it, please let me know what you think!

It was a quiet evening for a change. There was no alien invasion or some omnipotent being with an overly inflated ego and an embarrassingly sensitive pride that was out to correct the "wrongs" of the realms. No flashy thunderous explosions and collapsing buildings, just the sound of passing cars and the occasional chatter of pedestrians. Some would consider this setting a little mundane after everything that has happened since the Avengers came around, but not Eva.

Life had lost its ability to be dull since a certain frost giant found his way into her life. To be frank, she still was unsure how a simple online post for an apartment mate led to her now living with the infamous god of mischief, Loki. But that was not important right now. No, what was truly important was his clothing.

"You do realize that no matter how much you stare at me, you won't be able to bore a whole in my head?" The Asgardian in question finally spoke up, casually turning the page of a book he was currently reading while Eva sat across the table, eyebrows knit together and her lips pursed to one side as she studied him intently

"I'm not trying to make a hole in your head," she finally responded.

"Oh, then what are you doing?" He tilted his head up ever so slightly and raised a brow.

"I'm trying to see if I can catch it."

"Catch what?"

"Catch when your illusion thingy glitches to see what you're actually wearing."

"I'm sorry," he finally closed the book and turned his full attention to the young woman before him. "Illusion…thingy?" Loki tried his best not to laugh, though the corners of his lips ever so slightly curled upwards in an amused smile.

"Yeah, that thing you do where you make people see what you want them to. Like when you said you were here in the apartment but when I threw the pillow at you, it went through you. You can make people see what you want them to see without something physically being there…you know, a projection or hologram." Loki sat back in his chair as he silently eyed his companion, unsure where to even start his explanation. He opened his mouth once or twice to speak, but nothing came of it as he fell back into thoughtful silence.

"Are you assuming I am not here?" He finally asked and she shook her head. "Then why are you staring at me for a "glitch"?"

"Your clothes," she stated with the utmost confidence and frank tone that surprisingly left him speechless. "You always change your clothes without actually changing your clothes. You will your clothes to be different and others see that different outfit."

"Aaaannnnd," he gently rolled his right hand to usher her onward with this explanation.

"And I was wondering, is there a way to tell if you're actually wearing what you're wearing?"

"You wish to see if I'm naked or not? My, my, how bold," He began to tease, but stopped as she shook her head. "Then, whatever for?"

"Being nude under your clothes is nothing special; I'm nude under my clothes just like anyone else. Plus, walking around nude in a hologram seems…awkward. I wanted to see what you're actually wearing while making onlookers see whatever outfit you decide they should see…or actually no outfit at all. Huh…orrrr, you could actually be nude to me, but not naked at all…." Eva sat back in her chair at this new possibility. "Anyway, I wanted to see if I can catch a glimpse of what you're actually wearing."

"And what do you think I'm "actually wearing"?" Once again, Loki tried not to laugh as he humored this odd topic. Here she had a god before her, capable of feats that were impossible for a mere mortal like herself, and all she cared about was what he wore? He knew she was an odd one, but then again, that was part of her charm.

"I think you're wearing something comfortable, like pjs. I don't know what kind, so I figured if I watched long enough, I could see if you're the flannel kind of a guy or are you a footie pajamas kind of a guy."

Loki was certain that if his eyes were not attached to his body, they would have popped out of his head from how wide-eyed he was from the truth that finally came about. It was not uncommon for Eva to stare at him from time to time, but she had sat there for almost two hours, and for the sole purpose to see what he was wearing beyond an illusion? This, too, was part of her charm. He finally allowed himself a small chuckle as he shook his head. No other human would dare to behave as she and he would hardly allow it. It was because it was her that he found actual humor in this situation.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, darling, but there is no "glitch". What you see is what you will always see unless I wish otherwise. No need to let my words deter you; stare away," He drawled, winking at her. A subtle pink blush rose to the tops of her cheeks and he picked up his forgotten book with a satisfied smirk. Yes, life was never dull with a young woman and the god of mischief.
