Chapter 57: Loving Apprentice

"Are you sure he can work…" A foreman asked Naruto as said man was hammering a few nails into a board.

Naruto glanced over at Lance, whose arms were swollen purple, struggle to pull a cart as he held a pained expression on his face, sweat profusely pouring from his face.

"I told him he didn't need to do this until he healed, but he is stubborn and refused to heal until after he helped fix what he destroyed." Naruto grunted as he returned to hammering.

"Well, couldn't you just make a new set of buildings?" The Foreman asked the former leader of Kyoto as Lance collapsed.

"I could, I could." Naruto replied as he glanced over as Zest helped Lance get back up. "But they would not learn how to take responsibility of I just fixed everything."

The foreman sighed and shook his head.

"You are a strange one, my Lord." He said as he walked away to help Lance.

Naruto rolled his eyes as he finished the structure he was working on, jumping down to the ground to start the next.

"LUNCH TIME!" Lucoa called out as she wheeled out a large cart of food for the construction workers. "Come get it while its hot, and there is plenty for everyone."

Lance chose to sit down, gasping for air as the others lined up for food.

Delving into his memories, Lance thought hard.

Wobbling over to the cart of food, Lance walked behind Naruto.

"Master," Lance called out, getting Naruto's attention as he was talking with the foreman. "I have a request."

Naruto, intrigued by Lance's apparent enthusiasm, turned and put his hand on his hip.

"I'm listening?" Naruto said in earnest interest.

"Hmm…" Naruto said in thought as he pondered Lance's request.

"Sounds good, right master?" Lance asked as he sat down, his legs barely able to handle his weight at the moment.
