Everyone in the room freezes instantly at the natural commanding tone. Turning to look at the goblin speaking Harry knew that this was who they came to speak with. King Ragnar of Goblin Nation was an impressive sight to behold, wearing armor that Harry could feel pulsing with magic. The armor was richly designed it was a masterpiece of the art of smith work, but it was easy to see that functionality and strength were never compromised. An axe and a sword were sheathed on his hips these were not richly designed but true war weapons, the leather hilts stained with the sweat of thousands of hours of training and use. Harry looked at the king and knew that this was probably one of the most dangerous people he had ever seen.
They king walked directly to Grinlast, "You fool, Nephew, if it were any other you would be executed for this. Did you realize that that boy is the last Potter? The favored on of the witches and wizards, if a single hair was harmed on his head we would have to go to war."
"I'm sorry Uncle, by the time I discovered who he was it was too late. I can not leave without suffering shame. I must fight him though he will kill me."
"I will not allow my sisters only son to die needlessly. Even though you do deserve punishment still, more so since I will have to ask for your life."
Harry thinking fast knowing he only had seconds. The King turned to face him as he opened his mouth Harry spoke quickly cutting him off.
"There is no need to ask for his life your majesty, it is yours. Grinlast was asked to bring me to you instead he brought you to me, so thank you Grinlast and I do apologize for the insults, but I knew that they quickest way to get things moving was to insult you."
The Kings eyes narrowed, recognizing that Harry was angling for something but what exactly he didn't yet know. So, he answered curtly to better gauge Harry "Thank you for allowing me to keep my honor intact, but he still must be punished, only the most severe things would allow a human to fight in the pit."
Harry smiled "Maybe we can accomplish both…"
The King sensing that this was no longer a conversation for public ears, "Let us continue this in my office." With that he turned to leave, his guards immediately surrounded Harry and his friends along with Grinlast, marching them to the office.
Once they were all in the office, the King sat behind his desk staring at Harry and his friends studying them. Only Neville squirmed under his gaze, Hermione seemed to be studying a book shelf behind him, while Harry stared right back meeting his gaze unblinking. Both knew this was a test of wills, to see who would break first but neither wanted this to wait for to long. For as all goblins knew time was money, but for Harry he needed their help, but begging was only met with scorn and derision in a warrior culture such as this. So, in silence they sat as 15 minutes passed harry became tempted to reach out with legilimency, but he immediately squashed the urge realizing it would be folly, not only this the leader of a nation, him not knowing occlumencey was all but impossible. Finally, the king spoke "You know patience that is good, but money is better. So, who are you in truth and how did you discover this without taking one of our inheritance tests? Yes, I know the house you mentioned activated last night what I don't understand is why. More importantly I fail to see how you know found out before our inheritance department. So, who are you in truth, don't lie I detest liars?"
Harry's lips twitched "Are you sure you want to know. I lived it and I can barely handle it. I can't tell you everything but if you truly want to know I will tell you."
Ragnar stared directly at Harry seeming to look for any sign of deceit "Well this sounds like an interesting tale so let us begin."
Harry nodded "Send any who are not necessary from this room I can't have any rumor of this tale getting out. It would be detrimental to my plans, and could easily get me killed."
The king leaned back made a motion with his hand and the goblins started filing from the room Harry spoke up "Grinlast can stay, I feel you will see why soon enough." Grinlast stumbled slightly paling at this, wondering if his punishment was to be coming.
When the door closed Harry began to speak "Hermione and I have come back, from time and death we have returned to turn the tide of the war to come…." So, Harry explained what had happened, how they had lost they war, how they had died. Who they had met, that fate was a bit of an ass, that the founders themselves had trained them? Then they returned and they had tasks to complete, to save as many as possible, to try and turn this outcome. The king showed very little but every know and then his eyes widen. Grinlast sank to the floor is shock unable to believe what he was hearing. Neville sat in silence the only sign that he had heard them was when he twitched hearing that they learned some of the most powerful healing spells.
Then Harry started explaining the betrayals and the manipulations of Dumbledore and how he had been controlling the information that Harry got. How he had only learned of House Potter once he had died. Both goblins and Neville bristled at that, Ragnar growled out "How is it you that you have never heard of House Potter? You should have been informed when you first came to the bank. WHO WAS SHOWED YOU AROUND THE BANK?" The King finished with a roar
Harry grimaced, "That would be the traitor Griphook. He tried to leave us to die within Bellatrix's vault, and he is the one who led me to my vault for the first time."
Ragnar glared at Harry "You know part of me wants to kill you just for bringing me such a mess." With a sigh "But, you have helped me uncover suspicions that I have been having for several years. So, what do you need?"
