-Broken Spirit-
Spending time alone in a dark underground dungeon was enough to have anyone question their purpose on earth, life, decisions, and regrets. It was enough time to digest the other mysteries of the universe and if any other mystical creatures exist like werewolves, fairies, and mermaids. Were they good like some novels proclaimed? Or were they all evil creatures like vampires?
Vampires were evil, and no romantic movies or novels could say otherwise. They were manipulative, evil, cunning, and frightful. They were blood-hungry creatures who needed to be eradicated from the earth. Maybe they were the reason why so many people went missing in Konoha.
Hinata went from giggling to laughing insanely. She had made a deal with the fucking devil! A stream of tears flowed from her lavender eyes and she buried her head into her hands. She was ashamed of her actions and she couldn't believe she would succumb to something so humiliating. He was right. She was pitiful and an embarrassment.
Living like this was not worth it. Nothing had changed! Nothing at all! She still cowered in this dungeon-like a prisoner waiting to be freed. He had little regard for her wellbeing and it was all about him! But what did she expect? He was a vampire, an untrustworthy creature.
Karin was right. Escape. She should have escaped when she had the chance and allow Karin to help her flee Konoha. But did she really have the strength?
Naruto was remarkably strong and almost godlike. He read her mind, knew her every movement and it wouldn't be of a surprise if he knew exactly what she was thinking at this moment.
She placed her head on the silk satin pillow and stared at the wall, blankly. This wasn't how she envisioned things to be once he agreed to spare her life.
Her eyes traveled to the door that creaked open and she cringed when she saw the blonde hair devil look at her. It was that time of the day.
Without a word, he forced the blood down her throat and then fed on her. Karin mentioned it was taboo for vampires to feed on other vampires, but that's how they got some of their powers to be day walkers.
Maybe this was considered cannibalistic like it was in the human world.
She squeezed her eyes shut as he had sunk his teeth on the other side of her neck. Soon, countless holes would be visible that she could play connect the dots.
Once he was done, he just got up and left without saying a word.
Hinata curled up in a ball and she sobbed. Why was he doing this to her? Did it hurt so much to be nice?
Why was this happening to her? Did she deserve this treatment? Had she done something in her previous life to offend somebody? Or was she just a bad person who truly deserves this?
Her eyes were bloodshot red by all the crying, that she failed to realize that the door was slightly ajar.
She wiped her face with the white kimono she wore for her cremation ceremony and she almost burst into tears once more at how dirty she was. It had been quite a while since she had a proper bath.
Sniffling, she wiped the snot that hanged from her nose. As she was wiping her nose, she looked up in fear when she heard the door creak. To her surprise, Naruto was not standing there.
Hinata contemplated for a split-second. Was this her chance? Had God given her another chance to escape?
Her legs wobbled as she walked closer to the door, and she was anxious. What if this was a trap? Besides, she didn't know if it was day or night. She would surely burn if it was daytime.
The lump in her throat finally vanished when she stepped into the hallway. She looked back and forth and she couldn't hear a pin drop.
Placing her hands over her chest, she called out softly, "N…Naruto?" She squeezed her eyes and waited for him to snatch her by her hair, but it never came. Peeking through one eye, she looked ahead and there were no signs of the evil tyrant.
Now was her time!
Her footsteps echoed behind her as she raced down the dark corridor and up the stairs. Carefully, she opened the door and peeped her head just a little to see if she could see anything. Things were a little too easy, but there were rooms for possibility and that meant a possibility to escape.
The night sky was visible, and she took in a deep breath. Once she escaped, she would contact Karin and flee Konoha. It saddened her as she was born and raised here. Everyone she knew was here, and they treated her so kindly. They had even declared her to be their little Byakugan princess due to her family's rich history and unique eyes.
Without a minute to lose, she darted towards the front entrance that screamed out to her. A slight smile plastered on her face and as she gripped the golden handle, she froze. She couldn't go through with it.
Naruto would find her. She was sure of it. Those menacing crimson eyes were like a predator in search of its prey. He would be the wolf, and she the rabbit.
He already gave her a chance of survival, but she wanted more! She chewed on the bottom of her lip and backed away from the door. She was silly to believe she would have a chance of escape. He was strong, fast, and could track her every movement. She couldn't disappoint him now after amusing the idea of her living. She needed to get back, quickly.
Turning around, she froze when she saw Naruto standing behind her. He wore a soft gentle smile and Hinata stepped back slowly until her back hit against the door.
It was like someone sewed her lips shut as she couldn't talk or even find the right words to say. Staring at him like this made her afraid, very afraid. And that smile! Why was he smiling? She shuddered at the possible thoughts that were probably playing in his mind.
"Were you trying to escape?"
She shook her head. "No," She choked, "I just wanted to be somewhere other than that dungeon."
"Are you lying to me?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.
She squeezed her fist. "I'm not!"
"Who gave you permission to leave your room?"
Her legs trembled and she shook her head. "Why must you treat me like this? I'm tired of being in that dungeon and being fed on like I'm some kind of animal!" The tears gathered in her eyes and she wiped them away. "I'm dirty!" She said, showing him the stained kimono. "I'm lonely! And- And! I can't do this!"
He listened to her attentively as she went on and on, not that he cared. He was too invested in the fear she displayed and the way her legs trembled as she spoke. Then his eyes suddenly widened when he heard, "And why else what I run away from you?" By this time, the tears were flowing freely from her eyes. "You're strong and quick! You know my every move, so why would I escape? I realize what you can do to me and you already kept me alive much to your dislike!" She cried. "I-I," She dropped to her knees and bowed her head. "I won't do anything to upset you."
Naruto covered his mouth and he laughed at the pitiful woman. "Ah, ah, you're so disgusting!" He laughed once more. "Pitiful humans. So weak, and feeble." He clasped his hands together and grinned madly and then he licked his lips. "Continue." Hinata raised her head slightly, and she stared at the young man confused. "I'm strong, quick? What else? Amuse me."
She sat on her knees and gazed at him in fear. "You're strong," She whispered.
"Yeah, yeah you said that already. What else?" He crossed his arms.
"Cunning, but in a good way!" She quickly piped up. "You're fearless, a-and beautiful."
"What about evil? Sadistic? Tyrant? Cruel monster?"
Hinata shook nervously and her eyes turned to look at her shaking hands. "I-
"Why are you trembling like some wet dog? It's true is it not?"
She squeezed her eyes tightly. "It is," She muttered. "Y-you're a horrible monster!" Her eyes opened and she glared at him. "You're an evil monster that deserves to burn for eternity. You're like some savage wolf who likes to prey on those considered weak. I hate you!"
Naruto nodded at every word Hinata threw at him and that angered her even more.
"Thank you." He smiled, angelically.
Hinata was drained and she lowered her head in defeat. This creature of the night was certainly a psycho who belong in a rehab facility. She sighed once more. "Please, don't put me back in the dungeon. I beg you. Down there is suffocating and- She choked on the tears forming. "I don't want to be down there anymore."
"Hinata, you don't know what you want in life," Naruto replied, moving his hands up and down. "You don't want to live, but you don't want to die," He said, turning his back on her. "You don't want to be fucked and you don't want to burn for eternity. Women are quite problematic. I let you live, but now you're requesting more. Humans are so ungrateful."
"You used to be one too!" She barked. "Don't you forget where you came from!"
Naruto shrugged his shoulders before he placed his hands behind his back. "This is why I keep you in the dungeon. You can't adapt to your new lifestyle and you're just going to fuck everything up if I let you go. Although it would be best to kill you now," He mumbled the last part. "There are laws and orders in this world, and even the vampire race is to follow these rules. Those who can't adapt to their new life should be terminated."
"B-but I can survive off rats and animals. Blood is blood, is it not?"
He stifled a laugh and he turned back around to face her. "If I ever see a vampire feeding on an animal, I will kill them." Hinata nearly jumped out of her skin when his voice deepened, and his eyes turned back to red. "It says a lot about your character and how lowly you would stoop. Why would I ever feed off an animal's blood when I have fresh prey walking around so carefree? Why should you? You disgust me, but even I wouldn't expect such a pitiful creature to drink the blood of a rat."
She swallowed the lump in her throat, and she grabbed his arm when he wrapped his hand around her neck.
"Na-Naru-
"If you ever say something like that again, I will make sure there's a special place in hell for you." He threatened before he released her.
Wrapping her hand around her neck, she quickly nodded. "I'm sorry."
"I know you are. Now get up."
She rose, reluctantly, and what her head lowered, he pulled her towards an unknown area of the house. There were so many regrets that raced through her mind and she wished so desperately to take them back.

Regrets. That's all Hanabi could feel at this moment, and even after her sister's death she still made them. Her sister, Hinata, has always been perfect. Perfect in everything. School. Friends. Popularity. Love. And she would not deny and say she was not jealous of her perfect sister.
The cold water ran down her naked body, and she shivered. She deserved to be punished.
Maybe this was God's way of punishing her for the sins she committed. Seeing Hinata that night, was terrifying. Despite everything Sakura said that was Hinata. Hinata had come to visit her, and she turned her away. She would have gladly accepted the punishment for her sins.
Her shoulders trembled and she covered her mouth to suppress her screams.
The tears blurred her vision and she stooped down and shivered uncontrollably. Hinata didn't deserve to die in such a cruel way! She was the perfect sister and Hinata was everything she aspired to be.
Wrapping her arms around her body, she embraced the chilling water.
"Hanabi."
She closed her eyes and swallowed the lump in her throat. "I'm coming."
Yes, she had many regrets. Regrets that she was still making, even after her beloved sister's death.

Lately, strange things had been happening in Konoha and there was no denying it. Konoha had welcome September with open arms in hopes there would be a new change. Rituals and purifications were performed, and the older generation was wary and on their toes.
Ever since that incident at the hospital took place, there was a bad omen that was awakened. More youngsters were either going missing or had strayed to a path of violence.
Sakura held the yellow folder tightly to her chest as she made her way to Dr. Tsunade's office. Ever since that unfortunate incident that took her best friend's life, things at Konoha Hospital had been different. There seem to be more tragic events such as the disappearance of Toph.
One day she was here, and the next she was gone.
Some people believed there was a cursed place in the hospital and that the lost souls were angry at their untimely death.
A few nurses did quit after the incident and even she was afraid to enter the hospital again. The videos that circulated the internet made her weak. She cried thinking about Hinata and what they did to her. That was her best friend, and they took her away.
Hinata was her only best friend who could stand being around her. She was temperamental and quick to anger, but that didn't deter Hinata away. In fact, Hinata adored her so much and the two spent almost every single day they had off together.
Good people didn't deserve to die. Not the way, Hinata did.
Sakura knocked softly on the brown door before she entered.
"Dr. Tsunade, I have the file you requested." She said, placing it on the table.
"Sakura," Tsunade eyed the girl who was unknowingly crying.
"Huh?" She glanced at Tsunade and that's when her vision began to blur.
She dropped to the floor and cried her heart out. "It isn't fair, Dr. Tsunade! Why did Hinata have to die? Why did they take her away from me?"
Hearing the screaming woman, some of the nurses and other doctors glance into Tsunade's office. She abruptly shot up and closed the door on the nosey people.
"They took the one person who actually cared for me," She covered her face and shook her head. "I just want my best friend back. Am I selfish for only thinking about her?"
Dr. Tsunade helped her on the red cushioned chair and wrapped her arms around her to comfort her. "No, Sakura. You are not. I know it's been hard on you, but you must think about what Hinata wants for you. You have to be strong for her sake." Sakura nodded and she took the tissue Tsunade had placed into her hand. "I think it's best you leave today."
"I-
"Yes, you will. I know what happened was devastating, but you are still a nurse. You wouldn't want your patients to see you like this, right?"
Sakura's bottom lips trembled, and she nodded. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Go wash your face and get home safely."

The tears ran down her cheeks as the water gently sprayed against her skin. She closed her eyes slowly and embraced the water onto her face. Her lower lip trembled, and she realized she had taken everything for granted, such as a bath. It felt so good, showering. Its been ages for her, and now she would be able to clean, this hollow shell.
The pink dove soap ran all over her body and she smiled as the scent of cherry blossoms scented the bathroom. This was Sakura's favorite soap and scent. It felt like it was only yesterday when she and Sakura took a bath together. They were discussing their love life and inspirations, what changes they wanted to see in the hospital, their patients, and their family. Sometimes they laughed, other times they would cry, but it was all worth it.
Although Hinata was extremely popular, she gravitated more to Sakura than her other friends. Sakura was boisterous, a born leader, and a survivor. She wished she could have been more like Sakura in other aspects of her life, especially with this situation. Knowing Sakura, she knew the girl wouldn't put up with half the shit she's been through and would probably die than to be degraded and humiliated.
A soft sigh escaped her mouth and she tried to clear her mind. She knew the wild beast was right behind the door, probably watching her. It was already a surprise when he forced her in here. She also expected him to stay and have his way with her, but he didn't. He just threw a towel, and this soap at her before he shut the door behind him.
She did hesitate at first, but time had passed, and he still showed no signs of barging in.
Regardless, vampires were not to be trusted so easily.
The water eased up and soon enough it was gone. Hinata knew she had to savor this moment because who was to tell when she would be able to take a bath again.
Her toes wiggled under the soft rug when she exited the tub and she grabbed the big red towel that hanged on the rail.
She felt a little at peace, and she quickly dried off before she put on a gray shirt and slipped into a pair of jeans that were slightly fitted on her.
"I guess he went shopping for me." She said aloud. Then she mentally sighed. No bra. No panties.
The blood rushed to her face, but it quickly went pale when there was a loud knock on the door. "Are you done?" His voice echoed.
"Yes,"
With her head lowered, she opened the door, and as expected he stood there.
"T-thank you for the clothes."
He scoffed. "If you thought I bought them for you, then you are sadly mistaken."
Her shoulders lowered and she slightly trembled. Of course, what was she even expecting?
"Ne, Hinata. How badly do you want to live?" Naruto asked, crossing his arms. "You shouldn't push yourself if this isn't something you want." Hinata glanced at him and stared into his cerulean eyes. They shimmered even in the darkness and she quickly lowered her head. "I think you should just die." Her heart sank at the bottom of her stomach. "The life of a vampire is overwhelming and there are always danger that lurks around. You're like a predator, so now you're going to have to search for your food and it's no easy task. Don't you think it's just better to disappear, for good?"
Hinata felt the palm of her hands' sweat as she swallowed everything Naruto was saying. Maybe he was right.
"Can you even kill a human if necessary?"
Unknowingly, she shook her head. She couldn't possibly take someone's life away. A small smile crept on his face and he let his arms hang loosely.
"There are going to be times when you're going to have to kill and it's no easy task. Some may be women, men even children. Can you even stomach such a thing?" His voice was laced with concern and it was gentle to the ear. She had to look up to see if it was actually Naruto speaking.
Clearly, after all that time in the dungeon, she didn't even think about half of the things he brought up. What would happen if he were to even let her go and explore the world? What would have happened if she had actually decided to escape?
Just like there were laws for the human race, vampires had their own set of laws.
She was stuck for words and her mouth opened and close like a fish. Unknown to her, he was smiling his heart out.
"I think it'll be best if you die now." The soft mattress touched her back and she was still shocked by the sudden questions to realize she was lying on her back and he was on top of her.
"So, let me help you," His voice traveled to her ears.
He was right. She didn't have the stomach to do half of the things that would have been expected, right? So, it had to be done, right? She had to die.
Suddenly, she heard a crackling sound and her back turned extremely hot. From the corner of her eyes, she could see the flames reaching out to her and the loud cries of woes and sorrow danced around her. Her eyes widened as she felt she was slowly being pushed down to the pits of hell, and she let out a loud scream as she wrapped her arms around Naruto's neck for help.
She closed her eyes tightly and screamed, "No, No! I don't deserve death. No, please," She choked out.
The pits of hell closed and her back lied against the soft mattress. She trembled uncontrollably and refused to open her eyes, despite everything being back to normal. She was terrified at what she felt, at what she heard.
"I-I can do it." The thought of entering hell scared her so much and even if it wasn't confirmed if vampires really suffered the fate of an unsaved human, she didn't want to find out. "I'll do it." Her body still trembled from time to time, and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Are you-
She cut him off before he could say another word. "I can."
He hummed in amusement. "Shall we find us something to eat, tonight?"
Hinata nodded eagerly.

Konoha has always been known to have amazing nightlife. Different color lights flashed just about everywhere and there were so many advertisements either flashing on the tv screens or young girls parading around trying to get customers to enter their stores.
Hinata's eyes darted all around the streets at the different people and she couldn't believe it. Everything looked different from before. It was as if she was given glasses specifically made for her and everything was anew. The different colors floated around each individual, almost like their energy were like steam you would see on a heated dinner. There were different scents that lingered in the air and at one point she had to cover her nose as she had smelt something foul and decaying.
Her mouth watered as she'd walk past a group of teen boys that skated down the pave way, then her eyes darted to a lonely girl that stood underneath the street light.
There were so many options that she couldn't think clearly. Not once did she stopped to think that this was wrong or her way of thinking. All she should fantasize about was drinking fresh warm blood.
Unaware of her surroundings, she accidentally collided into Naruto's back and she nearly stumbled over. He glanced over his shoulder and she looked away.
Sighing under his breath, he continued to walk, and she trailed behind him, carefully. She tightened the strings of the hood to shield her face from the outside world and him. She'd look like a street urchin compared to him, and if she had seen them walking with her own eyes, she would believe that she was a beggar in need of money.
Some time had passed, and the two were still walking up and down on the pavement. They'd turned some corners and she was even in some unknown part of Konoha. It was completely different from the main streets, and there was an eerie feeling that made the hair on her neck stick up.
Suddenly, Naruto turned around and as he did, so a fierce wind came out of nowhere and blew his hair back and forth.
"You won't disappoint me, right?"
"I, I won't," She shivered uncontrollably by his taunting gaze. His eyes mocked her, and they looked down on her like she was some filthy creature.
"Do you want to know how I look when someone disappoints me?" His right eyebrow raised slightly, and she shook her head.
"I won't... disappoint you."
Naruto smirked wickedly and he snapped his finger. Hinata stared at him, suspiciously, then she quickly whipped her head around when she sensed a presence behind her.
It was the same girl who stood alone under the street lights. Her brown eyes were foggy, and she almost seemed lifeless. Hinata stepped back when the girl stepped forward, then she glanced over her shoulder and saw Naruto who smiled.
"She's a vampire too. Go ahead and eat. The more you feed on other vampires, the quicker you'll be able to get out that cellar and possibly explore the world once more." Naruto explained.
Hearing that made Hinata's heart leap for joy. The days spent in that cellar will be no more and she could be free… in a way.
Without hesitation, she approached the lifeless girl and her stomach grumbled. This young girl was given such a sweet scent that it made her mind go into a frenzy. It was hard to believe that she was a vampire, but who could tell nowadays? She didn't even know Toph was a vampire.
Knowing how impatient Naruto can get, she apologized softly to the girl before she sank her fangs into her neck. Hinata felt a thrill of electricity pulse throughout her body, and she wrapped her arms around her neck and pulled her tighter.
A sudden moan escaped her lips, and she blushed profusely, but she closed her eyes and continued to feed on the girl. She felt bad in a way, and she wanted to stop but she couldn't. It was just too delicious.
"Ne, you should probably stop before she dies," Naruto said, approaching her. "Having her go missing will cause an uproar." He said, pulling Hinata away from the girl with a simple yank.
Blood drained from Hinata's lips and she glanced at Naruto. There was a thud on the floor, and Hinata looked back to see the girl collapsed.
"W-who is she?" She asked, sensing that Naruto was hiding something.
"Hmmm, let's just say she belongs to a very important man." Naruto smiled, slyly.
Hinata frowned, then she glimpsed back at the girl who barely moved. "D-did I kill her?"
"She didn't turn into ashes, right?" He replied, cockily.
"But I want more." Hinata didn't know what possess her to say such a thing. Maybe it was her survival instinct kicking in, and she knew this was one of the many ways to please Naruto, however, she didn't really hold any regrets for doing what she just did.
Maybe this would work in her favor. Vampires are evil, so if she sucked on the blood of vampires only, then she would be doing the world a favor. It was a win-win situation. The corner of her lips tugged up slightly at the thought of finding a solution for her situation.
Naruto smiled sinisterly behind her but didn't say a word. It was a baby vampire way of thinking after all. She wouldn't be the first nor last to have these thoughts.
Months went by, and Naruto was entertained by the pitiful girl. He would have killed her off the week he starved her, but how could he do such a thing after seeing what lengths she went to just to survive. It wouldn't have been the first girl to do it, and there wasn't anything different about Hinata, yet he wanted to toy with her for a while.
It had been a long time since he found something to entertain his life in Konoha and stopping here was a good choice. The city was corrupted, just the way he liked it and he couldn't wait to show Hinata the world for what it really was.
Just thinking about her expression sent a shiver down his spine and he chuckled every time he thought about it.
"Hinata, I think it's time we find you some more suitable clothes," Naruto said one night after they had just left from a massive feast downtown.
"R-really?" She said, leaning over the couch and staring at him. Hearing him say that was exciting news yet suspicious of his motives.
"Mhm." Naruto hummed as he looked at her. "Starting tomorrow, you're going to be my secretary."
Thank you for the reviews!
