The shot rang out across the room as the mans body hit the floor his blood pooling around his head. The two responsible for the murder were quick to dispose of the body in a dumpster out back. And went back into the main room.

"Well, that was quick." The grey-haired boy sighed turning to his green-haired partner.

"Were you hoping he would put up more of a fight Mercury?" She asked.

"No, I guess." He spoke. The two made their way out of the store and their crime scene stopped by a girl at the front door.

She had black hair that turned red at the tips with striking silver eyes. She had a black cloak draped around her shoulders and wore a mostly red ensemble with a golden rose strapped to her belt.

"Hey Scarlet, what are you doing here?" Emerald asked a little surprised.

"To investigate the White Fang member trying to leave Vale." She explained in surprised confusion.

"Yeah, we kind of beat you to the punch here, or to the fatal gun shot to the head if you catch my drift." Mercury joked.

"Wait you killed him!?" Scarlet whisper yelled.

"Yeah, his body's out back." Emerald explained ignoring the horrified look on the sixteen-year old's face.

"Come on let's get going the longer we hang around the more likely we are to get caught." Mercury added.

The trio started walking down the street towards the warehouse they were working out of. Along the way Emerald struck up a conversation with Scarlet. "So why were you looking for the shop owner, I thought you didn't kill?" She asked.

Scarlet sighed and looked down at her feet as they walked, "I don't but that guy could have been a big problem later on and Roman wasn't doing a thing about it so I thought I could rough him up a little you know." She finished her statement with a shrug. She hated the job she had, but she had no way out of it, after all she was raised by a crime lord, so the best she could do was play her part and wait for the day to come when she could leave it all behind. And with a little luck that day was coming soon.

"I've been meaning to ask you something." Emerald started. "Roman is your dad, right? So why do you call him Roman?" She asked with a cocked eyebrow.

Scarlet snickered, "You've met him. He barley qualifies as a human let alone a father." She explained.

"I get the feeling you don't like each other." Mercury broke in.

"What gave you that idea?" Scarlet sarcastically added.

They kept walking in silence until they made it to the warehouse storing most of the dust Roman had stolen over the last few months. The White Fang were moving giant crates of dust around the room, and Roman Torchwick was standing at the other end examining a map. When the trio approached, he took notice of them and sighed.

"She sent the kids again." He ground walking behind them putting his arms around their shoulders, "This is turning out just like the divorce." He joked.

"Oh, shut up Roman you were never married, and if you where you would give up custody in a heartbeat." Scarlet retorted walking over to the desk he was just standing over.

'Oh, Scarlet you know me so well." The criminal joked again walking over to stand next to his daughter.

"I can see why she hates him." Mercury whispered into Emerald's ear.

"Now this might tell me where you three were today." He said pulling out a piece of paper with an address on it.

"Wait how did you-?" Emerald stammered.

"I'm a professional sweetheart. Pay attention and maybe you can learn a thing or two." He mocked looking at the paper. "Why do you have this address?" He asked sounding offended.

"Wouldn't you like to know." Emerald teased leaning forward.

"Uh, yeah I would." He retorted before looking back at Scarlet sitting on the table he was using to plan, "But I think I know how already. Now where have you been all day?"

"Cleaning up your messes." Mercury reprimanded.

"I had that under control." Roman retorted.

Scarlet spoke up from her resting place on the desk, "He was about to leave Vale for Vacuo, how is that 'under control'?"

"Why you little… You know if you weren't my daughter, I would-!" He started yelling only to be cut off by a voice from high up on the catwalk.

"You would do what, Roman?" The feminine voice asked.

Turning to see the women Roman continued, "I would definitely not feed her to a Grimm."

"Hey Cinder, what's up?" Scarlet asked getting off the desk.

Cinder getting on a platform lowering herself down to their level, giving Scarlet a small smile. For what ever reason Cinder had taken an interest in Scarlet, not that she was complaining someone nice was a welcome change of pace. Emerald was nice to her, but she always hung around Mercury, and he was a jerk to everyone.

"I thought I made it clear you were to eliminate the would be runaway." She explained walking towards the man.

"I was going to…" Roman said trying to think of a way out of this conversation.

Emerald was quick to put down the criminal, "He was going to run away to Vacuo, Mercury, Scarlet, and I took it upon ourselves to kill the rat." She explained.

"I didn't do anything. By the time I showed up you two already killed him." Scarlet added not wanting to be associated with what happened in the bookstore earlier that day.

Cinder turned to her partners, "I thought I told you two to keep your hands clean while in Vale." She scolded.

"But I thought." Emerald stammered out.

"Do not think, obey." Cinder instructed, while Roman was mocking them from behind Cinder.

"Wait hang on." Mercury spoke up. "Scarlet was there too, you're not gonna yell at her." He complained gesturing towards the teenager.

"I am not responsible for Scarlet's actions, unlike you two." She explained. Turning back to Roman she continued to question him, "And you why wasn't this taken care of sooner?"

Roman started to motion around the room at the mountains of dust containers emphasizing how much work was put in to steal it all. "Sorry if I was a little preoccupied stealing every speck of dust in the kingdom."

"Yeah, he has a point we have so much dust we are practically sitting on a nuclear warhead, and we still don't know what you want us to do with it." Scarlet spoke up.

"Have a little faith you two, you will know what you need when you need to know." She said putting her hands on her hips.

"Way to be cryptic." Scarlet mumbled.

"I will tell you that we are done with dust." Cinder stated.

"So, then what are we doing?" Roman asked.

"We're moving, have the White Fang clear out this building, I will send you coordinates tonight." Cinder explained.

"Coordinates?" Roman said confused.

"We are proceeding to phase two." Cinder vaguely explained.

"Phase two…?" Scarlet questioned out loud. She left the warehouse hours ago and was now sitting on her couch hugging her knees contemplating what Cinder had said. Her black and white tuxedo cat had wiggled her way into Scarlet's lap making her giggle, "What are you doing Fia?" She giggled.

"Mew."

Scarlet smiled and picked up her cat hugging it. "Your so cute." She whispered to none one but herself. She was startled by a sudden knock at her door causing Fia to jump to the floor. Sighing she got up and walked over to the door.

Upon opening the door, she was greeted by the face of her identical twin. "Hey Ruby, what's up?" Scarlet greeted with a smile.

"Hey Scarlet, I'm fine I know I'm a bit early, but I thought we could start early as well." She greeted in return.

"Oh, right the movie. I completely forgot about that." Scarlet mumbled facepalming.

"How did you forget I told you about this like six times?" Ruby chastised putting her hands of her hips.

"I've just had a weird day." Scarlet explained letting Ruby into her apartment.

"What happened?" Ruby asked with intrigue.

Scarlet remembering the short conversation outside of the bookstore with Mercury and Emerald. "I'd rather not talk about it." She said grimly.

"Did something bad happen, are you okay?" Ruby said worry growing in her voice.

"Look I don't want to talk about it okay." Scarlet quickly added trying to end this conversation.

Ruby sighed her anxiety growing inside her, "Fine. What movie are we watching?" She asked.

"I have a few just pick from there." Scarlet stated pointing at a small square bookshelf with four shelves full of DVD's.

Ruby walked over to the bookshelf kneeling to get a better look, flicking through the many cases on the bottom left shelf she was seeing a pattern, "Horror, horror, horror, slasher, horror another slasher, do you own anything else?" Ruby asked turning to face her twin who was leaning on the counter separating the kitchen and living room holding a soda.

Scarlet popping the seal on the can responded, "You're looking at the horror shelf. I got action movies above that, monster movies top right, and bad B-movies on the bottom right." She explained.

Ruby looking at the other shelves saw many movies she recognized most of which she wasn't the biggest fan of, but she eventually found herself investigating the bottom right shelf which had a sticky note placed above it labeled 'Terrible Movies' in handwriting she did not recognize. There were titles from several genres, reading some of the names couldn't help but start laughing.

"Why do you own some of these?" She asked through giggles.

"To make fun of them." Scarlet stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, crouching down next to her twin. "When I used to live with Neo, we would watch one every week. She always said that they sucked but I know she secretly loves them." Scarlet said with a warm smile.

"You know you said that Neo made your life hard growing up, but from what you have told me she seems pretty nice." Ruby said warmly happy to see her sister smiling.

"Yeah, well we didn't get along growing up but as we got older, she became more and more caring and protective of me to the point that I'm glad I can call her my older sister." Scarlet explained.

"Aww."

"Shut up its not that touching." Scarlet joked turning a little red.

"Well then let's watch one of these movies, if you and Neo bonded over them then why can't we." Ruby said excitedly picking a case at random getting up just as quickly.

"I don't see why not." Scarlet said with a shrug getting up. Taking the case from Ruby she walked over to her TV set putting the DVD into the player and sitting back on the couch her cat jumped into her lap.

The next ninety minutes went by rather quick with it mostly consisting of Ruby and Scarlet trying to one up each other's jokes. At one point Scarlet had to pause the movie so Ruby could catch her breath. The time the credits started to roll Ruby felt a wave of disappointment wash over her. Scarlet seeing this put her arm around her younger sister.

"We can always hang out another time Ruby." She reassured.

"Yeah, but…" She let out a heavy sigh, "We don't get to hang out that often and I hate that I have to lie to my teammates just so I can see you."

Letting out a sigh of her own Scarlet apologized, "I know, I know. I still don't have a way to get out of the criminal world. Well, no ways that don't involve murder." She finished grimly.

"You better find way soon." Ruby mumbled, looking at her sister she put on a small smile, "I still want you to meet Yang, I'm sure you will hit it off."

"I don't know she seems a bit…intense…from what you've told me." Scarlet said rubbing the back of her head.

"Yeah, she can be, but when you get to know her, she's really nice." Ruby explained her smile growing.

Scarlet snickered, "You know when you meet Neo, she seems like an insane psychopath that never talks, but when you meet her, she's only a crazy person." She mocked.

"OH, Shut up you know what I mean." Ruby laughed.

"See you next time sis'." Scarlet said smiling.

"Goodbye Scarlet." Ruby said her smile fading as she got up.

Scarlet showed her identical twin to the door closing it behind her as she left. Scarlet placing her head against the door felt warm tears running down her face, 'When will I get to leave this all behind?' She mentally questioned as more tears escaped her face. Her cat Fia was rubbing her head against Scarlet's leg trying to cheer her up to no avail.

A few days later in the Team RWBY dorm they were just getting back from playing a board game in the library, and Blake was quick to try and leave only to be stopped by Weiss saying how she was back to her antisocial ways breaking the promise she made to the others.

"Tell us what is wrong." Weiss demanded.

"I just don't understand how everyone can be so calm." Blake started.

"Still thinking about Torchwick?" Ruby inquired.

"Torchwick, the girl in red, the White Fang, all of it. Something big is going on and no one is doing anything about it." She continued her voice getting slightly frantic.

"Ozpin told us not to worry, between the police and the hunters I'm sure they can handle it." Yang tried to reassure her partner.

"Well, I'm not! They don't know the White Fang like I do!" Blake yelled.

The rest of the team exchanged looks before Weiss spoke up, "Okay I'm sure you all think that you all are ready to go out and stop these bad guys. But let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students. We are not ready to handle this sort of situation."

"And we may never be ready!" Blake shouted again. "Our enemies aren't going to sit around and wait for graduation day. They are out there, somewhere, planning their next move, and we don't know what it is, but it's coming! Whether we're ready or not." She finished.

"Okay all in favor of stopping a corrupt organization plotting against the kingdom of Vale say 'aye'." Ruby spoke up.

"YES!" Yang cheered.

"Well, I suppose it could be fun." Weiss stated.

"None of you said 'aye'." Ruby pouted to herself. 'Scarlet would have said aye' She thought to herself.

"Alright then." Blake spoke, "We're in thing together."

"Okay let's hatch a plan." Ruby spoke excitedly.

"YEAH!" The blonde cheered again.

"I forgot my board game In the library!" Ruby gasped horrified.

"We're doomed." Weiss added pinching the bridge of her nose.

Ruby ran out of the room at full speed hitting someone on the way out knocking her to the floor. "OW" she yelled.

Looking up she saw a green haired girl with bright red eyes and a grey uniform. The girl had a very confused look on her face as well did the boy she was standing next to. "Sorry about that. Are you okay?" She apologized getting up on her own.

"I'm fine…are you…who are you?" She seemed to be stumbling over her words.

"Uh, I'm Ruby. Ruby Rose." She said with her normal cheerful smile sticking out her hand.

The girl not taking her hand continued to stare at her like she was from a distant world. "Are-Are you new here?" Ruby asked a little confused herself.

A new girl spoke up from behind the first one. She had jet black hair and fiery eyes that seemed to glow. "Visiting from haven actually, and you?"

"Oh, I'm a normal student here, my team's dorm is right down the hall, I was just going to pick up a board game we left in the library." Ruby explained to the trio.

The girl's attention was focused on Ruby's necklace. The silver rose with red and black petals she got as a present for her and Scarlet for their birthday. She almost never took it off and wore it proudly out in the open for all to see, and Scarlet did the same with her golden variant.

"That's a nice necklace where did you get it?" She asked.

"Oh, I got it as a present for my birthday a month ago." The red-haired girl explained.

"Interesting." The black-haired girl mumbled.

"If you're exchange students then you have your own dorms just east of here." Ruby pointed out.

"I guess we got a little turned around." The boy finally spoke up.

"Oh, don't worry it happens all the time." Ruby reassured.

"Well maybe we will see you around, Ruby." The fiery eyed girl said as they started to walk away.

"Maybe, and welcome to Beacon!" Ruby called back to the small group.

A Week later Team RWBY was preparing for their new mission; find out what's going on in Vale.

"Everyone remember their roles?" Ruby asked getting off her bed.

"You and I will go to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other dust robberies and inconsistencies." Weiss respond.

"The White Fang hold regular faction meetings to hand out orders and recruit new members. If I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they're planning." Blake stated.

"I have a friend on the shady side of town that knows everything going on in Vale. Getting information out of him shouldn't be too hard." Yang said crossing her arms.

"Great we'll meet up near Yang to go over what we learned." Ruby informed. "Let's do this!" She said getting excited.

"YEAH!" someone cheered.

Turning towards the window they saw the monkey faunas Sun hanging from the windowsill. "How did you get up there?" Yang asked.

"It's easy I do it all the time." He explained.

"You do what!" Weiss yelled.

"I climb trees all the time." He clarified. "So, we finally going after that Torchwick guy?" He asked stepping into the room.

"We are going to investigate the situation, as a team." Blake stated.

"Sorry Sun, we don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to." Ruby apodised.

Sun scoffed at Ruby's statement, "That's dumb you should always get friends involved. That's why I brought Neptune." He stated.

Looking out the window they saw Sun's blur haired partner standing on the thin ledge just outside their room. "Sup." He said causally.

"How did you even get up there?" Ruby asked.

"I have my ways, but can I come in we are like really high up." He asked a little scared.

The plan was quickly changed to include Sun and Neptune. Sun would go with Blake to the White Fang meeting sense they are both faunas, and Neptune would go with Yang sense she didn't have a partner.

Later that night Blake and Sun were outside of the warehouse where the White Fang meeting was taking place. Putting on the masks they were handed Sun asked a question, "Why the masks? If you believe what your doing is right, then why hide your face?"

"The masks are a symbol. If humanity wants to make us monsters, then we will dawn the faces of them." Blake explained.

"Grimm Masks." Sun said quietly. "Kinda dark."

"Yeah, well so is the guy who started it." She stated grimly.

"Didn't the girl in red where a Grimm mask as well?" Sun thought out loud.

"Your right, she did." Blake confirmed placing her hand on her chin.

"Do you think she's a faunas?" Sun questioned.

"Don't know. It's a possibility." Blake responded.

They got in line and didn't have to wait long for a large muscular man in a decorated mask stepped onto the stage. He welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced someone to the stage, as Roman Torchwick stepped onto stage the audience became very angry at the human that was supposed to be their ally. Two figures stepped out from behind the large curtain behind the stage. The two went mostly unnoticed if it wasn't for the one draped in a black cloak.

"Blake look! It's her." Sun whispered pointing at the red and black girl. Blake didn't respond but her gaze was locked on her.

"Okay, okay I can hear that you're all upset at me being here," He joked, "but there are some things you don't know about me. For example, I'm a family man." He paused exaggerating his movements. He walked over to the two girls standing at the edge of the stage and put his arms over their shoulders. "I did bring my daughters to this meeting after all."

"Wait those are his kids!?" Sun whisper yelled. Blake stayed silent hiding her shock.

The red girl quickly moved her father's arm off her shoulder almost looking disgusted, but not being able to see her face it was hard to tell. The other much older girl with pink and brown hair did the same with a heavy sigh. Roman took the message and moved back over to the main stage and continued his speech. His words were carefully chosen, and it didn't take long to win over the audience.

Blake's attention was still focused on the two girls on the edge of the stage. As Roman's speech went on, she noticed a moment where the pink haired lady tapped the masked girl on the shoulder and after pointing at their father mocked him with her hand saying he was talking to much. The red and black girl snickered and lightly punched the girl in the arm.

'Well, they act like sisters." Blake thought to herself. Her laser focus was broken by a swift movement of the curtain that was hiding a large, mechanized war machine from Atlas.

"As many of you know this is Atlas's newest line of defense against all of the scary things in the world, and thanks to my employer we were able to snag a few before they hit the shelves." The criminal explained.

"We need to get out of here." Blake whispered to Sun.

"All new recruits, please step forward." A man ordered.

As the crowed started to thin, Panic set over Blake and Sun as their only exit was blocked. Turning his attention back at the stage Sun saw the black cloaked girl starring straight at him.

"She's seen us." Sun whispered to Blake. Blake turning to the stage herself saw the girl looking at them. Strangely the masked girl then looked at a power box on the other end of the room and then at her feet. Blake confused at the strange movement drew her sword she named 'Gambol Shroud' and activating its gun form took aim at the power box and fired plunging the room into darkness right as Roman took notice of their presence.

Chaos fell over the room and Blake and Sun scrambled to get out the window being chased by Roman in the giant robot.

"Do you have any kind of back-up?" Sun yelled at Blake as they ran across the rooftops.

"On it." Blake yelled back. She pulled out her scroll and called her teammates informing them about the situation they were in and telling them to make their way over to them as fast as they could.

Within seconds of finishing the call Yang and Neptune rounded a corner on Yang's motorcycle and followed the giant mech. The faunas duo jumped down onto the highway shortly followed by Torchwick and Yang.

"We need to slow it down!" Yang yelled stated hoping Neptune would have an idea.

"Got it!" Neptune responded sitting up on the bike and grabbing his gun. Roman noticing the bike following him grabbed the passing cars and throwing them back at his pursuers. Yang weaving threw the chaos was unfazed as she tried to get a clear shot for Neptune.

As the Bike steadied the blue haired boy aimed his gun and fired several shots all landing direct hits on the large robot. Transforming his gun into a spear he leapt into the air with a graceful flip. He straightened his posture aiming readying to stab his spear into the large mech only to be knocked out of the air rocketing into the pavement as a loud gunshot from a sniper rifle rung out.

"NEPTUNE!" Sun yelled seeing his friend slumped on the side of the highway. Sun jumped into the air drawing his weapons only to be shot himself joining his friend on the side of the road.

Blake in shock was scanning the area to see where the shooter was hiding. It didn't take long to find an airship, similar to the ones at the docks, following behind them. The hanger door was wide open, and Blake could see the masked girl kneeling looking down the sights of a large sniper rifle.

"Blake I'm in position!" A voice called out from Blake's scroll. Soon after Weiss jumped down from the overpass landing on the road ahead of them. Using a large amount of dust, she coated the roadway in a layer of ice. The large mech not able to slow down slipped on the lice as it ran over it flying over the edge of the road falling into the large pit below them. As he landed, he came face to face with the team's leader, Ruby Rose. The rest of the team landed beside their leader readied themselves for battle.

Scarlet watching this through the scope of Slicer Thorn couldn't look away, she didn't even notice Neo walking up behind her, "They are very skilled fighters." Neo spoke up.

"Yeah." Scarlet absentmindedly responded.

"Can I ask why you didn't shoot them while they were on the cars?" She spoke up.

Scarlet standing turned to her older sister, "What are you talking about."

"Back on the highway you didn't shoot them while they were standing on the cars, only while they were in the air. Why?" She asked tilting her head to the side.

"There were innocent people in those cars, I couldn't just shoot at them." She explained. Neo had always had trouble understanding emotions and morality, luckily, she was getting better at it and had developed a thin moral code.

"But you didn't do anything about the cars that Roman was knocking around to slow them down."

"Because there was nothing I could do." Scarlet explained further sounding a little annoyed.

"So, if you could have saved those people you would have?" Neo asked earning a nod from Scarlet. "But what if the person in the car was a criminal? Would you save them if you knew they where bad?" She asked.

"Neo…. It's not that simple." Scarlet groaned.

"But you always say that those who harm others are evil and deserve to be punished." Neo stated.

"Look Neo, I know your world is a little black and white when it comes to morals, but when it comes to a normal person it's a lot harder to come to decisions like that." She explained.

"I see." Neo mumbled.

A loud crash from below them caught their attention. The giant mech had just punched the yellow girl through a atone support pillar and was being shot with supercharged ice rounds from Ruby and her white-haired partner. The blonde girl was flying threw the air with the help of her weapon and faunas teammate and with one single punch shattered the giant robot sending Torchwick tumbling to the floor.

As Roman stood back up Yang fired a round from her shotgun gauntlets. The explosive round was about to contact the criminal when a short girl with brown and pink hair dropped down from the sky and blocked the shot with an umbrella.

"About time." Roman mumbled, "Ladies. It's been a pleasure. Neo if you would." He said almost ordering her to use her semblance so they could make their getaway.

Neo silently turned to face the man and then to Team RWBY letting a small smirk tug at her lips. "Uh, Neo? The getaway?" Roman asked confused.

Right at that moment Yang charged at the two pulling back her fist her eyes turned blood red. She was only a few feet away from the criminals when a red figure dropped down from above and with a quick motion sent Yang careening into the floor, pain shooting across her nerves in large waves.

"YANG!" Ruby called out. Her panic intensified when she saw blood starting to pool around her arm.

The figure stood from their crouched position, a large four-foot crimson blade at their side. They wore all red with black accents and a white mask concealing their face.

'So… your Yang.' Scarlet thought to herself.

"Of course, you both make a dramatic entrance." Roman mumbled to himself.

"You two leave. I can handle them." Scarlet spoke her voice being distorted by her mask. She didn't wait for their response and turned back to face the other three members of the team.

Blake being the first to snap out of her shock charged at the cloaked girl. She went in for a quick sideways slash at the red girl's torso, she dodged and countered the faunas girl's strike with a torso slash of her own. When the blade contacted the girl she vanished, reappearing behind her slashing at her back.

Scarlet quickly spun around barely blocking the blow, she parried the strike and quickly thrusted her blade forward. The same thing happened, and the cat vanished only to reappear a short distance away. 'Clones' Scarlet thought to herself. Ruby mentioned one of her teammates could create clones and it was truly an impressive sight. Activating her semblance Scarlet could see the world begin to slow around her.

"This oughta make things even." She mumbled to herself.

Ruby and Weiss stood in awe at the two swordswomen fighting at incredible speeds. All they could see was the blur of colors and hear their swords making contact. Ruby felt like she was watching what could only be described as a death dance. The way that they moved gracefully and fluidly was breath taking.

Scarlet raised Slicer Thorn and swung it down at the black faunas, and as she expected the faunas disappeared again and charged at her from her right side. She stepped to the side effectively dodging the strike and using her swords long blade swept the black cats feet out from under her sending her tumbling to the floor.

Ruby and Weiss watched in horror as their friend fell onto her back and the red girl brought her boot up and stomped down hard on Blake's leg. A loud CRACK could be heard before Blake's howls of pain filled the air.

"That'll keep you out of the fight for a while." Scarlet joked to herself clearly out of breath from her battle with Blake.

The red girl stepped away from their broken friend, and with a quick powerful motion swung the blade out to her side extending her arm fully and moved her arm so the tip of the blade so facing Ruby and Weiss. The gesture was simple and conveyed the message clearly; 'Who's Next?'.

Weiss was the next one to step forward. The heiress sent volley's of icicles at the girl who skillfully weaved through them with extreme speed. When the barrage of ice slowed The masked girl sped towards the white-haired girl. Stopping a few feet in front of her she went for a series of diagonal slashes quickly followed by a forward thrust, all of Weiss gracefully dodged.

The cloaked girl raised her sword for another downward strike forcing Weiss to block. Raising the blade of Myrtenaster to block the strike, Weiss was pushed back a few inches from the masked girl's strength. Weiss' eyes darted from the crimson blade mere inches from her face to the face of her opponent only to be met by the black rifts of the Grimm bone mask she wore.

Weiss heard a small, reverberated giggle emanate from behind the mask, "Well you're pretty." The mask girl teased.

Weiss losing her composure at the sudden comment lost her control over her opponents weapon allowing the red and black girl to bring to back to her side and sweep Weiss' legs out from under her. Before she hit the ground, Weiss was kicked in the ribs knocking the breath out of her and sending her tumbling across the battlefield.

Scarlet turned to the last person standing on the battlefield. Her twin sister Ruby. As she started walking towards her twin, she pulled out a smoke grenade from her belt, pulled the pin and dropped it at her feet as she kept walking. The red colored smoke filled the air concealing the two from any prying eyes.

Moving her mask so Ruby could see her face, Scarlet's face was hard to pin the expression she had. She looked happy to see her sister, but at the same time she looked sad and conflicted.

"Hey Ruby." She greeted quietly.

"Scarlet what the hell was that! You attacked my team!" Ruby furiously shouted.

"SHHH! That smoke may hide us from view, but everyone can still hear us." Scarlet quickly hushed. "Look Ruby, I know your mad but let me explain why I did this."

"You better." Ruby growled gritting her teeth.

Scarlet let out a heavy sigh and collected her thoughts, "Roman and Cinder are planning something big, and if I can gain their trust then maybe they will let me in on it, and sense you and your team are trying to stop them I could be an informant." She explained not looking Ruby in the eye.

Ruby mulling over what Scarlet just said paused for a moment, "You know that's not a bad plan, but I'm still mad at you for hurting my teammates. You broke Blake's leg."

"I know, I know. That's why I was aiming for ways that wouldn't seriously injure them." Scarlet explained.

"YOU BROKE HER LEG!" Ruby yelled again.

"SHHHH! Look for Yang I cut her arm, painful sure, but the cut isn't that deep and with her aura it should heal in a couple of days. For Blake I inflicted a minor fracture to her tibia, if I had to guess she should be completely healed in a week or two. As for the pretty one, well maybe some bruised ribs. But I think her pride hurts more then anything else." Scarlet joked.

"Yeah maybe." Ruby lightly chuckled. "And her name is Weiss."

"AH. Okay." Scarlet acknowledged.

The smoke behind them began to thin and Scarlet put her mask back into its place covering her face once more. "Okay follow my lead, and when I give the signal shoot me." She vaguely explained.

"Wait what's the signal?" Ruby started only to be cut off by her twin charging at her with her sword.

Yang managing to get to her feet clutched her bleeding arm in her hand. The masked girl had cut her from her shoulder to her forearm, she must have missed a little because her cut wasn't too deep and was already healing. The blonde looked over at her teammates seeing both Blake and Weiss collapsed on the ground.

"Where's Ruby?!" She worriedly mumbled to herself. Scanning the area, it wasn't hard to spot the cloud of red smoke far away from everyone else. The smoke was thinning, and Yang could see the silhouettes of two people in the middle of an acrobatic fight with the two figures rolling and filling over one another.

As the smoke cleared a little more Yang could see that it was Ruby and the girl that dropped out of the sky and cut her arm that where fighting. Ruby seemed to be having a hard time keeping up with the masked girl's speed being forced on the defensive.

"Leave it to Red to go completely overkill." The voice of Roman Torchwick could heard from behind Yang. Turning around she saw him and his new henchmen getting onto an airship.

Yang not caring if they got away turned back to Ruby and "Red's" fight. Ruby was spinning the shaft of Crescent Rose to block a relentless flurry of slashes from Red. Ruby jumped back and angled the barrel of her scythe towards the ground. Red charged towards her and when she was a few feet away from the red cloaked girl she threw her sword into the air.

Ruby's attention being drawn by the sword looked away from her opponent and was pulled forward and tripped sending her to the floor. Looking up she saw Red catch the sword with an underhanded grip and plunged the blade down at Ruby's face.

"RUBY!" Yang shouted as loud as her lugs would allow.

BANG

A shot was fired, and Red went spiraling across the battlefield landing far away from Ruby. Yang in a rage ran at the collapsed girl her eyes redder than her sister's namesake.

Yang threw her fist at the girl ignoring the large amounts of pain shooting across her nerves trying to stop her. Yang paid no attention to her body's messages to slow down and was laser focused on killing the girl that tried to her precious baby sister. When her fist mad contact with the girl she shattered into pieces like glass and all that was left was the huge crater.

"So let me get this straight, The four of you went on a late-night hunting trip in the Emerald Forrest and did this to you all." Ozpin asked looking at the three members of team RWBY currently laying in hospital beds.

"Yeah, that's what happened. It was all my idea." Yang acknowledged.

"And Ms. Rose didn't veto this proposal?" The headmaster asked.

"No…I kinda pressured her into agreeing to do this." She explained.

"Well… I believe that is all I have to ask you, unless you two have anything to add." He said curiously looking over at the white and black members of the team, they both shook their heads. "Well then have a good night." He said standing and turning to leave the infirmary.

"Wait. Where is Ruby is she okay?" Yang asked

"Ms. Rose is sleeping in your dorm room tonight, and she is perfectly fine." Ozpin reassured before leaving the room.

Arriving in the Team RWBY dorm room Ozpin was greeted by the team's young leader. "Is everyone going to be, okay?" She asked her voice full of worry.

"They will all be fine. Ms. Schnee will be released tomorrow morning and Ms. Belladonna and Xiao-Long in a few days." He reassured.

"Oh, thank god." Ruby breathed out collapsing on Weiss' bed.

"Next time you decide to go on a late-night training exercise be a little more careful." Ozpin joked before turning back towards the door to leave.

Ruby could not have felt more relieved, everyone was going to be just fine. Even after Scarlet explained their injuries during the battle it did little to calm her down. Just at that moment Ruby's scroll let off a chime, pulling it out she saw that it was a text from her twin.

'Is everyone okay?'

'there fine just like you siad'

'Fix your grammar.'

'shut up'

'Good night Ruby.'

'night scarlet' Ruby punctuated her text with a heart emoji.

Putting her scroll down she got changed and turned out the light. Crawling into her bunk the sweet relief of sleep washed over Ruby sending her into a deep sleep within seconds.

She was standing on the same cliff as before. Snow covered the ground and whipped through the air, but the chill that normally came with it was absent as always. Looking up she saw the tall figure in a white cloak standing just at the edge of the cliff. She knew it was pointless, but she reached out with her hand and tried to call out only for the loud roar of a Grimm to echo from behind her.

She turned to face the large creature that dwarfed her in size. She held out her arms in a surrender, what was the point of fighting it if it all meant nothing. Right as the beast swung its paw down at her she closed her eyes and braced for the pain to wash over her and force her awake.

The pain never came. When she opened her eyes, she saw the beasts arm laying on the floor. A new figure stood before her. They were draped in a black cloak and held a long red sword at their side. Snapping out of her daze she grabbed her own weapon unfolding it into its scythe form and pulled on the bolt loading the weapon. The two turned to the large beast as it roared at them in a challenge that they were ready to face.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

"mmmmmmm…..I don't wanna get up."

Next chapter; Mix-up

Hey its me again. So I just wanna say this quickly because their might be some confusion over the way I'm choosing to write Neo in this story. First off she is a psychopath so she can't feel emotion and empathy, but when writing her I didn't want her to just be the quite insane girl that just so happens to be Scarlet's sister, so when writing her I took some inspiration from the show 'Dexter' (Its a show about a cop that's also a murder in case you haven't seen it) So like Dexter from that show she can learn to feel basic emotions like anger, sadness, and care for others close to her.

Other than that I only have one last thing to say. I uploaded the first chapter late at night and when I woke up the next morning i was shocked to see that a lot of people had decided to follow my story and it already had some reviews. When compared to my other story 'Tales of AMBR' that was really surprising. So let me thank everyone that has followed this story.

Anyway enough out of me. Thank you all. Good bye.
