Spyro started in the Celestial Room.
Then Spyro walked twenty steps forward.
"Ooooh… What's this?" Sparx asked.
Then Sparx flew twenty steps forward.
"I think it's a magic wishing lamp." Sparx said.
Then Sparx went to the hourglass.
"Hello? Genie? You in there?" Sparx asked.
Then Spyro looked around before looking at the hourglass again.
Then Spyro turned right.
Then Spyro started walking.
"This is incredible! The entire history of the dragon race… it looks like it's all here." Spyro said as he walked.
Then Spyro stopped walking.
"It is. Well, most of it." A white dragon answered.
"Did you hear that? It spoke to me!" Sparx said in awe, thinking the genie spoke to him.
Then the white dragon turned left and then started walking.
"The records in this hall date back to the beginning of time… nearly." The white dragon said as he walked.
"The Chronicler!" Spyro said.
Then the Chronicler stopped walking when he got halfway around the hourglass.
"Yes, Spyro… It is I… And I've been waiting for you." The Chronicler said.
Then Spyro went to Spyro and then turned to the Chronicler.
"Oh, well… I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long. We got a little held up back there… well, you know… RIDDLES OF DOOM!" Sparx said as Spyro made his angry face while looking at Sparx.
Then Spyro looked at the Chronicler.
Then Sparx flew off.
"It was a necessary evil. I had to be sure, Spyro." The Chronicler said.
Then the Chronicler started walking.
"I haven't had any visitors… in my solitude… for over a thousand years." The Chronicler said as he walked and then passed Spyro.
Then the Chronicler stopped walking while Spyro turned around.
"Shocker! Try getting rid of the psychedelic unicorn and dragon hybrid outside!" Sparx said.
"You've been here for that long?" Spyro asked.
Then the Chronicler turned to Spyro.
Oh, yes. But I have my books… And I watch and wait… listen for things to come.. and then add them to the books of Time." The Chronicler said.
Then two seconds passed.
"You are also written in the books, though… many pages are still left incomplete." The Chronicler said.
"I am? Can I see?" Spyro asked.
"Of course you can. This one is yours. Look…" The Chronicler said as he used magic and opened The Legend Of Spyro book and put it in front of Spyro.
Then Spyro walked to The Legend Of Spyro book.
Then Spyro saw a terrible kinglike Ape in one of the pages of the book.
"You've seen this hideous creature before." The Chronicler said.
"Why is he in my book?" Spyro asked.
"It was Gaul who led the first raid on the night of your birth… when Ignitus rescued your egg…" The Chronicler said as the pages moved to the next pages.
"And when they took Whirlwind's while Ronald's egg, Cynder's egg, Sunburn's egg, Camo's egg, Zap's egg, and the other five eggs were spared." Spyro said.
"Yes… that was most unfortunate." The Chronicler said as the pages showed Gaul stealing Whirlwind's egg.
Then Spyro saw an image of Sparx.
"Oh! And here is little Sparx." The Chronicler said.
"Hey! Nobody needs to see that… ever…" Sparx said.
"Wait! Can these books tell the future?" Spyro interrupted.
"In parts. Though, just glimpses of the future." The Chronicler said.
"Can you show me an example?" Spyro asked.
"Sure." The Chronicler said.
Then the Chronicler used his magic and closed The Legend Of Spyro book and put it back on the shelf and opened The Fate Of Cynder book and put it in front of Spyro.
Then Spyro read through the book but Cynder's fate was still the same as the one he read in the Fable Temple.
"As you recalled, you changed Cynder's fate, not that it surprises as she was good from the start." The Chronicler said.
"Can you show me another example?" Spyro asked.
"Sure." The Chronicler said.
Then the Chronicler used his magic and closed The Fate Of Cynder book and put it back on the shelf and opened The Fate Of Ronald book and put it in front of Spyro.
Then Spyro read through the book and discovered that Ronald's fate is different now.
"This fate in the book about Ronald is different from the one that I read in the Fable Temple. It says that Ronald's fate is to join Spyro's team." Spyro said.
"That's because you changed Ronald's fate, Spyro. Even the Fabler's book about Ronald's fate has changed and that goes for the Taler's book too. But this doesn't surprise me as he was good from the start." The Chronicler said.
"Okay. If the books can tell the future then I want to know what will happen to Whirlwind." Spyro said.
"Spyro, you don't und…" The Chronicler said.
"Please! I must know!" Spyro interrupted.
Then the Chronicler lied down.
"Very well… but hers is a darker tale." The Chronicler said.
Then the Chronicler used his magic and closed The Fate Of Ronald book and put it back on the shelf and opened The Fate Of Whirlwind book and put it in front of Spyro.
"Spyro, you must understand, when she was taken by Gaul, she was poisoned and corrupted, made to the Dark Master's bidding. Her entire life has been spent in shadow. She knows no other way. When the Dark Master returns… she will concede. No one can resist the temptation, not even the strongest among us." The Chronicler said as Spyro read through the book.
"I don't believe that." Spyro said.
"Spyro, let me tell you another story." The Chronicler said.
"Oooh oooh oooh! Can I pick the story this time?" Sparx asked.
"There was once a dragon, long ago, whose raw power was far greater than anyone had ever seen… or could imagine. At first, he mastered ground… which was odd because he was not a ground dragon. Then came fire, water, ice, and wind… and other abilities none thought possible. Is the story sounding familiar?" The Chronicler asked.
"It was a purple dragon… like me." Spyro said.
"The first purple dragon… In the beginning, he was encouraged… and secrets of elemental mastery were passed unto him willingly by the elders. But his power… was limitless… it knew no boundary. He consumed… everything. When he would not stop, he was cast into exile. And from his new fortress within the mountain, he built an army… not of dragons, but of apes… and taught them to artificially harness the power of the gems… Our life force." The Chronicler said.
"You're talking about the Dark Master…" Spyro said.
"Yes. And his dark seclusion, the sheer weight of his malice cracked the very foundation of the mountain, splitting the earth, creating a pit of despair… Where the lost souls of this world could reside." The Chronicler said.
"The Well Of Souls!" Spyro said.
"…created by the very beast who now seeks to escape it." The Chronicler said.
"B-but you said that the eclipse would only allow the spirits to escape for a short while." Spyro said.
"Yes, but if there was ever a spirit powerful enough…" The Chronicler said.
"Then how do we stop it?" Spyro asked.
"There is no stopping it. It has been written." The Chronicler said, standing up.
"Then why did you call us here? I don't understand." Spyro said.
"To ride out this storm… where you would be safe… and live to fight another day." The Chronicler said.
"Well, that sounds pretty good." Sparx said.
"What about the others? What about their safety?" Spyro asked.
"I fear the worst for the others but at least I know this… your friends should be safe as long as they remain in the Gem Campgrounds… and Ronald and Cynder will not return to the Dark Master's side because they are already boyfriend and girlfriend." The Chronicler said.
"…and Whirlwind? Am I supposed to sit here and do nothing… while she joins THEM?!" Spyro asked.
"Let me field this one… Yes!" Sparx said.
Then Spyro turned his head to Sparx.
"No!" Spyro said.
Then Spyro turned his head to the Chronicler.
"You keep talking about choosing a path. But what about Whirlwind? Unlike with Ronald and Cynder, she was never given a choice." Spyro said.
"I have to try." Spyro said, turning the rest of his body towards the exit and then turned his head towards the exit.
Then Spyro started walking.
"I'm going and you can't stop me!" Spyro said as he walked towards the door.
Then Spyro stopped walking and then turned his head to the Chronicler.
"Then… I won't…" The Chronicler said, laying down.
"Young dragon, I've waited far too long to watch you leave here stricken with grief and doubt. You will need a strong mind, a brave soul, and a pure heart if you are to withstand the evil that consumes that place." The Chronicler said.
"I know this is not the path you would choose for me. But I have to walk my own path… and do what I know is right." Spyro said.
"So be it, Spyro. I will show you the way. But you must hurry. The dark hour of the eclipse is near… and haste will be your only ally." The Chronicler said.
"All right then… well… uh, just so I know why I died… Your plan is to wander into the land of darkness to face an army of evil creatures that will want to kill us so we can try to rescue another evil creature that has already tried to KILL US?!?" Sparx asked.
Then Sparx flew to Spyro.
"I'm pumped! Let's… let's do this." Sparx said as Spyro made an annoyed face.
Then Spyro stopped looking at Sparx.
Then Spyro turned to the hourglass.
Then the hourglass went up and revealed a hole in the floor.
Then Spyro jumped off the ground and went through the hole and entered the Celestial Channel and flew all the way through the channel and exited the Celestial Chamber and entered the Mountain Of Malefor's Outskirt.
What's going to happen next?
Stay tuned to find out!
