The sound of metal clashing filled the air as the two warriors battled on the rooftop. The blonde swordsmen went for a downward strike only for the red head to block and twirl away using her spear to trip him from under his feet. He landed with a thud on the concrete floor.

"Great foot work Jaune." Pyrrha congratulated as she helped him to his feet.

"I still wasn't able to hit you." He groaned.

"One step at a time." Jaune sighed and looked down at his feet avoiding Pyrrha's gaze. "Is something wrong?" She asked.

"We're supposed to be competing in the Vytal Tournament in a week." He started. "And I have barley improved."

Pyrrha flicked his forehead, "Maybe from your perspective." She reprimanded. "But from where I stand you have become one of the best fighters in this school."

"I guess…" Jaune mumbled.

Pyrrha sighed and backed off a little. "The stress is just getting to you. We should be heading back now. It's late." Jaune nodded and the duo left the rooftop.

Jaune was about to close the door to the roof when a loud thump sounded just beyond the door. He left the door open a crack and looked through to see what made the sound. Pyrrha was about to object when Jaune shushed her. He motioned for her to join him at the door, and she too peaked through the crack.

Pacing back and forth on the rood was a female figure dressed in a mostly red ensemble topped off with a black cloak and white mask. She was looking down at her scroll typing like mad. When she finally put her scroll down she mumbled a curse under her breath and took a seat on the ledge of the building.

"Is that Ruby?" Jaune absentmindedly whispered.

"It looks like her, but it can't be… could it?" Pyrrha answered.

"Only one way to find out." Jaune whispered as he fully pushed open the door.

The cloaked person jumped upright reaching for a weapon on her hip. She eyed them both the daggers in her eyes piercing through the black eyes of her mask. She took a step back losing her footing as her foot went over the ledge, she quickly recovered.

Jaune took a few steps forward and the cloaked girl unhooked her weapon from her belt, and it quickly unfolded into a long sword with a crimson blade. Pyrrha responded by drawing her spear and shield and putting herself in between the girl and Jaune.

The masked girl pressed a button on the side of her mask and began to speak in a low reverberated voice, "Get out of my way." She ordered.

Jaune put his hand on his sword's grip, "Your one of Torchwick's daughter's. Red, right?" He stated calmly steeling himself.

Jaune's statement was met with a cold stare from Red, the inky voids of her mask sending a chill down his spine.

"Get out of my way." She ordered again.

"I'm afraid we can't do that. Your still wanted for your crimes." Pyrrha said with authority.

A reverberated sigh echoed out from under Red's mask. "Fine."

Pyrrha noticing a slight change in Red's stance, charged forward transforming her spear into its gun form and firing a round at Red's stomach. The world slowed down as the bullet left the barrel of Pyrrha's rifle and Red stepped out of the way, black rose petals forming and falling off her clothing. When she was safe the world sped back up and she sent a round house kick into Pyrrha's back. Pyrrha stumbled a bit and quickly turned back to face Red. Her face was met by a sucker punch to the jaw knocking her to the ground.

Jaune rushed in his sword tight in his grip. He slashed violently at Red, who kept sidestepping and dodging his strikes. They were approaching the edge of the rooftop and Jaune raised his sword high above his head and swung it down with all his might. Red raised her sword up to block the strike and stopped putting Jaune in a familiar situation. Red was about to copy Pyrrha's movements from before and twirl out of the bind and trip Jaune. Jaune in a desperate moment raised his leg and kicked Red in the gut knocking her to the ground.

She rolled to a stop at the ledge, her leg hanging off the side. Jaune stepped closer to the girl looming over here. "Come peacefully and maybe the police can cut you a deal." He bargained.

"Little late for that." She mumbled to herself. She quickly got into a crouching position and swept Jaune's legs out from under him. She sprung to her feet and sprinted to the door on the far side of the roof, but Pyrrha stepped in between Red and her escape raising her shield. Red jumped over Pyrrha using her shield as a springboard. She landed with a roll and with a violent burst of speed launched herself through the open door, the gust of wind that followed slamming the door behind her.

Scarlet ran down the stairs of the Beacon dorm rooms as fast as she could. As she ran she opened a door to a random floor and kept moving down the staircase. Taking a break, a floor below she could hear the two who attacked her run down the stairs and through the door she opened.

"Oldest trick in the book." She mused. As she made her way down the rest of the staircase the little voice in the back of her head told her she had met those two before, but no matter how hard she racked her brain she came up with no answers. "It's not important, probably will never see them again anyway." She sighed.

"See who again?" A female voice asked from the bottom of the staircase.

The person had dark skin, pale green hair, and eyes as red as Scarlet's name sake. "Hey Emerald. You got my text I'm assuming?" Scarlet greeted.

"I can't believe you got that lost. You're not even in the right building." Emerald chastised.

"Hey!" Scarlet objected, "It's not like I've been near the dorm rooms before!"

"Follow me." Emerald sighed.

They exited the dorm building and walked across the campus. Before long Emerald had led them into a similar looking building. The only notable difference was that this building was a few floors shorter than the one Scarlet had been on.

"You can't blame me for getting lost when the building look that similar!" She remarked sounding annoyed. Emerald laughed a little before opening the door and holding it for Scarlet.

"Our room is on the second floor."

True to her word Emerald led Scarlet up a flight of stairs to the second floor. They rounded a few corners and ended up at the end of a hall looking at a door. Emerald knocked a few times and opened the door.

To say the room was sparce was an understatement. The only furniture in the room was four beds, one looking like it had never been used, and a small table placed in the center of the room. On one of the beds sat Emerald's partner Mercury who waved lightly at their arrival, and their boss Cinder who stood in behind the table starring at the door, a small smile on her face.

The thing that caught Scarlet's attention most was the third figure in the room. "Neo? What are you doing here?" Scarlet asked walking over to her sister.

Neo shrugged and raised an eyebrow at her sister.

"I don't know either." Scarlet responded to Neo's nonverbal question.

Cinder cleared her throat, "I'm sure you two have heard about the Vytal Festival being held here in Vale?" She started.

Neo and Scarlet nodded in response.

"Good." Cinder stepped out from behind the table and over to where Scarlet and Neo were standing. "I need your help to destroy it." She put bluntly.

"What…?" Scarlet breathed out. "How would you even do that?"

"All you need to know is your part in the plan." Cinder stated in a firm tone. "We will be participating in the tournament and Neo will be filling in our forth slot."

"Why Neo? I'm the better fighter." Scarlet objected.

Neo averted her gaze looking a little offended.

"Because you will be breaking your father out of prison." Cinder explained.

Neo and Scarlet looked shocked at Cinder's statement. "You're kidding right. He got himself in there. Why the HELL should be break him out!" Scarlet shouted.

"Because he is still important to our operation." Cinder clarified. Scarlet gritted her teeth trying to control her anger.

"Now then." Cinder started again. "You two know the parts that you play, so you can await further instruction." She motioned to the door.

Scarlet sighed and walked out holding the door for her sister. They left and made their way over to the air ship docks to wait for a ride back into the city. The two sisters didn't say a word to one another until the airship arrived and they had sat down.

Scarlet plopped down in her seat; glad she could get off her feet. Neo took the seat next to her. A slight buzzing came from Neo's pocket, and she pulled out her scroll turning off the alarm. Neo let out a heavy exasperated sigh and reached into her jacket's breast pocket, pulling out a small pill bottle. Scarlet watched in confusion as Neo took one of the pills and put the bottle back in her pocket.

"What was that about?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I have to take a pill every six hours." Neo explained.

"Why?"

"It's so I can keep working with you as an informant."

"That raises more questions than answers sis."

Neo sighed again. "I'm not 'psychological fit' to be an informant for the Vale PD so Ozpin has me visiting this shrink every other day, and they gave me these pills." She explained.

Scarlet tackled Neo in a tight bear hug. "This is great!" She said her voice filled with glee.

"It is?" Neo asked pushing Scarlet off her.

"Of course, it is! You're getting help for your broken brain." Scarlet said with a bright smile.

"My brain is not broken." Neo corrected sounding offended.

"We need to celebrate!" Scarlet stated backing off a little. "There's a bar not far from the landing spot." She suggested her voice overflowing with excitement.

"I'm not too sure Scar…" Neo tried to object.

"Just one drink… come on sis'." Scarlet pleaded using the puppy eyes she learned from her twin.

Neo sighed, "I guess one drink won't hurt." She stated with a smile.

Ruby was rushing around the teams dorm room, scattering red rose petals all over the floor. On occasion she would stop in front of the mirror in a different outfit or to take a drink of water. When she finally came to a stop she had coated the entirety of the teams dorm in flower petals and had a bright smile painted on her face.

"You are going to clean all of this up, right?" Weiss asked from her bunk. Ruby chuckled nervously and gave a mumbled 'Whoops' as she rubbed the back of her head. Weiss let out a heavy sigh as she stood up. "Why are you so excited anyway?"

"Yeah, I've never seen you like this." Blake chimed in looking up from her book.

Ruby opened her mouth to speak but was cut off when Yang burst through the door, "WHO'S READY TO MEET OUR LONG-LOST SISTER!" She bellowed.

"YANG IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE!" Ruby chastised.

"Sorry sis'. Got a little excited." Yang said with a slight chuckle.

"Wait I thought Yang didn't know." Weiss said.

"When did you find out?" Blake asked getting down from her bed.

"I met Scarlet a few days ago at a coffee shop." The heiress explained.

"DAMN IT!" Ruby and Yang exclaimed in unison.

"At least we can still surprise Jaune and the others." Ruby muttered under her breath.

"Speaking of which," Weiss started. "How are you planning on breaking the news to them?"

"Well…" Ruby drew out the word for a few seconds as she gathered her thoughts. "I was planning on telling them a half-truth." She explained.

"You're going to lie to them?" Blake blurted out.

"No were just going to tell them that our sister is in town, and she wanted to meet our friends." Yang quickly defended.

"Then how do you explain that she works for Torchwick?" Weiss added to Blake's argument.

"WORKED, for Torchwick." Ruby defended. "And we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it." She stated cheerily.

"You dolt…" Weiss mumbled under her breath.

Scarlet let out a satisfied sigh as she emptied her coffee and chucked the empty cup into a nearby trash can. The twins had decided to meet at a small park on the far side of Vale. She was standing under a gazebo in the center of the small park leaning against a railing waiting for her sister's team and friends to arrive.

Scarlet passed the time by watching the people passing by the park's entrance. The park they had chosen wasn't very popular due to its small size and lack of playground, but because of these factors it was a good spot to find some privacy among the peace and quiet.

Scarlet took a long deep breath to steel her nerves. She would have been lying to herself if she said she wasn't nervous. This was the day that she was going to meet her older sister. Well officially meet her. They had crossed paths many times before without Yang's knowledge, but now she could be herself and not pretend to be Ruby or talk through her mask. She had so many questions to ask about their father and their home on… "What was the name of the island again?" Scarlet mumbled to herself. She shrugged off her confusion knowing that she could just ask her sisters when they arrive. The biggest question she had was about her mother. When she first met Ruby, she told her that their mom died when they were five years old, and Yang was the only one with memories of her.

"SCARLET!" Her sisters energetic voice drew Scarlet out of her own head. Ruby rushed over to her twin in a burst of speed scattering rose petals behind her. Ruby grabbed her twin in a hug that was quickly reciprocated. When they separated Scarlet turned towards the others present.

"Heya kitty!" Scarlet greeted waving at Blake. "Snowflake." She turned to Weiss and gave a sarcastic bow. Weiss and Blake approached the twins, Blake with a bright smile and Weiss avoiding eye contact.

Scarlet then turned to the last person in the park. Yang. "Hey sis', how long has it been… like sixteen years?" She joked.

Yang approached Scarlet slowly and carefully, almost like she was approaching a dangerous animal. When she was within arm's length of Scarlet she reached out and poked her arm, checking to see if what she was seeing was true. Yang quickly broke down into tears and grabbed Scarlet in as tight a hug as she could muster. Scarlet had to summon her aura to fight off the bone crushing feeling from Yang's hug, but still returned the hug, tears rolling down her face.

"You're real." Yang mumbled.

"And alive." Scarlet stated loosening her grip on her sister. Yang got the message and backed away from Scarlet. Scarlet cleared her throat and wiped the tears from her eyes, "So…" She started. "What have I missed?". She was smiling from ear to ear.

The team spent the better part of an hour talking about the adventures they had in the first part of their year at Beacon, and Scarlet telling the occasional short story of missions she had been given by Torchwick. She was carful with her wording to make her stories sound more fun than they were.

A ding rang out from Ruby's pocket breaking the stream of laughter. "Whatcha got there sis'?" Scarlet asked looking over her shoulder.

"Text from Jaune." She stated plainly.

"'Bout what?" Yang added.

"They're going to be here soon." Ruby answered.

"Why does that name sound so familiar?" Scarlet mumbled to herself.

"You've met Team JNPR before when we mistook you for Ruby at the mall." Blake spoke up.

The names and faces slowly started to come back to her. Two of which she had seen the previous night on a rooftop. "Oh shit." She mumbled to herself.

"Hey!" Yang shouted. "I'm the only one in this family that can curse." She joked.

"No, no, no, no. You don't understand." Scarlet started sounding a bit panicked. "I saw two of them last night… I don't think they left with a very high opinion of me."

"What happened?" Weiss asked.

Scarlet gave them a quick and abbreviated version of the events from the night before. Starting with her getting an order to meet Cinder in the dorms, her getting lost and then her battle with Jaune and Pyrrha.

Team RWBY stood there a little awestruck. "Well…?" Scarlet asked trying to break the silence.

"You were able to take on Pyrrha?" Yang breathed out.

"That is the least of our problems right now!" Scarlet exclaimed.

Weiss snapped out of her saw and cleared her throat. "Yes she does have a point." She stopped to think for a moment. "You don't have you sword with you right?"

"No, I left Slicer Thorn back at my place." She answered.

"Well than you shouldn't have to worry." Weiss stated in an upbeat tone.

Everyone gave Weiss a strange, confused look. Ruby uttered an audible "Huh?"

Weiss let out an exasperated sigh, "How could Jaune and Pyrrha recognize someone that they never saw the face of, and only know by their weapon and clothing." She stated firmly.

Everyone present shared a look of realization. "Well, it sounds simple when you put it like that." Scarlet muttered to herself.

"We should still try to keep off the topic of Torchwick." Blake added earning a nod from the other four.

Ruby smiled and grabbed Scarlet by the arm and whispered something in her ear that sent both into giggle fits. "What's so funny?" Yang asked leaning in, upset she wasn't in on the joke.

"Be right back!" They both shouted in unison as they ran out of the gazebo and around the corner.

"Great now they have inside jokes…" Yang mumbled sounding defeated.

Ten minutes passed and Team JNPR arrived with Nora leading the way skipping as she walked.

"Hey guys."

"Hello~"

"Greetings."

"SUP!"

They all greeted as they approached. "Where's Ruby?" Jaune asked scanning the area.

A large gust of wind swept through the overhang and Ruby appeared in a black hoodie and golden rose necklace sitting on the railing. "How's it going?" She asked jokingly.

Team JNPR said their hello's again to the team's leader. "You said you had something you wanted to tell us." Pyrrha started, "What is it?"

Ruby jumped off the railing exaggerating her movements. "Well…" She started looking past everyone.

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late!" Another voice called out from behind them. They turned around to see… Ruby… in a red hoodie and silver necklace.

Jaune did a triple take with the most confused look anyone could have. "W-what… h-how…?"

The twins stood next to each other with the brightest smiles anyone has ever seen. The Ruby in the red hoodie cleared her throat, "Guys I would like to introduce you to my twin sister Scarlet."

"Pleasure to meet cha'!" Scarlet exclaimed excitedly. Blake could just barely make out her accelerated heart rate with her faunas ears.

Team JNPR remained dead silent for a solid minute until its most energetic member started shouting.

"COOL!" Scarlet back away covering her ears. "WHICH ONE IS OLDER? DO YOU TWO LIKE THE SAME FOOD? WHY IS SHE HERE? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US ABOUT HER? IS SHE A HUNTERESS?"

The twins didn't know how to respond. "Uhhh…" Scarlet started. "I'm older, yes and no, to see my sisters, I don't know, and not yet." She answered.

"Okay than." Nora stated backing away.

Scarlet chuckled to herself, "Any other questions?"

"Why didn't you tell us you had a twin?" Jaune asked the faint sound of offence in his voice.

"I honestly don't know…" Ruby stated rubbing the back of her head. "I've been so busy with my classes and stopping Torchwick."

Jaune seemed to accept this answer. The real reason she never told them was because she didn't know she had a twin until a few months ago.

"So Scarlet," Pyrrha started. Scarlet went a little stiff. "Are you studying to become a huntress?"

"Yeah…" Scarlet started. "I go to a privet combat school just outside of Vale." This was a bold-faced lie. That she had come up with a several weeks ago with some help from Ozpin. He had used his high status to talk to the headmaster of that school and make her a fake student ID to help sell the idea that she was just Ruby's sister and not a secret criminal that was secretly helping the Vale PD and military catch dangerous criminals.

"Sounded cool, until someone had to go and show me up…" She teased Ruby, mostly to help sell her fake backstory. Ruby turned bright red and turned away.

"So then why are you here? Most huntsmen schools are taking midterms." Pyrrha continued.

"Internships." She plainly added. "My school lets us shadow a huntsmen for a week to learn in the field." The school she was pretending to be from did allow its students to intern under professional huntsmen at this time of year. Scarlet planned this day around that detail.

"Come on Pyrrha," Jaune stepped in. "Stop interrogating her." He said in a joking tone. He turned back towards the group. "You must have some questions for us."

Scarlet thought for a second. "What's it like at Beacon? These two haven't told me much." She said motioning towards her twin and half-sister.

They laughed and started talking about their time at the school. Scarlet felt a little envious at some of the stories she was being told. From the entrance exam to the massive food fight that they started. All these memories that she could have been a part of but wasn't because of an event that happened when she was a baby, and she had no control over. And because of that event her life was filled with mental torture and sorrow.

She tried her best to ignore these feelings and laugh along with their jokes and arguments. She couldn't help but notice that Pyrrha was giving her the occasional side eye, but she largely ignored it.

The day melted away and noon quickly became sunset. "We should be going." Ren stated after nearly an hour of staying silent. The other members of the team agreed with him, and they said their goodbyes.

Once again it was Team RWBY alone in the park. They kept talking for a little while as the sun continued to fall under the horizon. "We're heading back." Blake said as Weiss followed shortly behind. Now it was only the sisters.

Yang sat down on the railing and let out a long sigh. "I still can't believe that you're alive."

Scarlet sarcastically checked her pulse, "Jury's still out on that I'm afraid." She joked in a very sarcastic tone.

The three of them started laughing in unison. Scarlet hadn't felt this safe in a long time. She spent most of her childhood terrified that Roman would come home and beat the crap out of her, or that she would get killed by some crime boss over something he did. It left her with sever paranoia and quick to self-defense.

A person standing near the park's entrance caught her attention. They looked normal, but nothing got passed Scarlet. She picked up a rock and hurled it at them, hitting them square in the head.

"Scarlet what the hell?!" Yang exclaimed.

The person exploded into glass shards revealing a short women with a recognizable brown, pink, and white color scheme.

"Damn it Neo…" Scarlet mumbled as she approached her adopted sister.

"Who's Neo?" Yang asked leaning towards Ruby.

"Her adopted sister" Ruby explained earning a nod from Yang.

"I told you everything was going to be fine." Scarlet chastised putting her hands on her hips.

Neo crossed her arms and adverted her gaze pouting.

"I'm not a kid, you don't have to watch over me all the time." Scarlet said lightening her tone.

Neo looked back at her sister and motioned to the direction that Team JNPR had left in.

"If they find out then we just tell them that we work for Ozpin." She explained for the hundredth time.

Neo rolled her eyes and gave Scarlet a warm smile.

Scarlet sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose before looking back and smiling in return.

Yang and Ruby moved out of the gazebo and over to the two by the park entrance.

"Hey Neo…" Ruby muttered awkwardly.

Neo waved casually.

"So…" Yang started getting closer to Neo. "Your Scarlet's sister." She stated leaning closer to her.

Neo gave Yang a confident smile and nodded proudly.

Yang chuckled to herself backing away. "I've seen you fight so I know you're strong. Just keep my sister safe for me while I'm not around for we will ya?"

Neo nodded and stuck out her hand for Yang to shake.

Yang shook Neo's hand and leaned to whisper in her ear, "I also want a rematch for our fight on the train." She said with a chuckle.

Neo snickered and tightened her grip on Yang's hand.

The two older sisters back away from each other. "The last airship will be leaving for beacon soon, so we should get going…" Yang sighed.

"I tell you what Yang." Scarlet started. "Next time I have a meeting with Ozpin or Cinder, I'll swing by your dorm. Sound good?"

"Sounds like a plan sis'." They bumped fists and the four sister left the park each pair heading in a different direction.

Pyrrha was sitting on her bed deep in thought when Jaune approached her. "Something on your mind?" He asked sitting next to her.

"Do you think there was anything… wrong, with Scarlet?" She asked sounding very apprehensive.

"No, why?" Jaune asked sounding very confused.

"I don't know…" Pyrrha trailed off. "There was just something about her that struck me as odd."

"Maybe it's because she looks like Ruby but acts like a completely different person." Jaune suggested in a joking tone.

"You might be right." She said with a smile.

"Night Pyrrha." Jaune said getting up and turning out the light.

"Good night Jaune."

Pyrrha laid down but still couldn't shake the feeling. After nearly an hour of failed sleep attempts she sat up and opened her scroll. She pulled up news feeds and found a recent one about the Torchwick arrest and scrolled down the section on his daughters, Neo and Red.

Pyrrha gulped as she clicked on a collapsed image of the two sisters. She scrolled past the photo of Neo and to the one of Red. She had a long sword with a crimson blade, a white Grimm bone mask, and long black cape. The most alarming detail to Pyrrha was the golden rose that was slung around her waist, the rose was the same symbol that was worn by Ruby around her waist and neck.

Pyrrha's eyes went wide with shock. "It can't be…" She mumbled to herself. "Is Scarlet, Red…?"

Next Chapter; Old Qrow

Sooooooooo... Been a while. The last chapter went up about... 5 months ago... yikes. I do have an explanation on my part. The short answer is; School. I put up the last chapter around the time school started again and sense than I have been focused on that. I would on occasion have some free time to work on this, but there was a period where I went several week with out opening the file. I do want to say that just because I haven't published a new chapter in a while doesn't mean that I have abandoned the project, I am way to stubborn to do that. Although I will warn you al that the next chapter might be a while because I alternate writing this and my other story 'Tale of AMBR' and I haven't even got an idea how chapter 8 of that one will go, so get conferrable, maybe go read Tales, I don't know I can't control you.

Farewell for now.
