The weeks had turned into six months. Trevor had been removed from Mike's life for almost as many months as Mike had been at the Firm, only to return unexpectedly. Mike had started dating Jenny soon after Trevor had been sent to Montana to save him from himself.

Out of spite after a drunk dial from Rachel to Mike's cellphone, Trevor had turned Mike in to Jessica. With everything Mike and Meghan knew about Trevor, he chose to avoid the police and let someone else do that for him.

Mike was freaking out. Jessica had called him to her office to discuss a one-on-one dinner with him. He didn't know which secret had been exposed, if any. There had to be another reason behind the invitation because he hadn't completely bought that this was a good thing.

There was a fake grin on his face. However fake it was, though, it was reminiscent of earlier that day when he had told Harvey about it. There was no concern about exposure in the man's eyes. His only concern was the merger he was working on.

"Tell me what the hell's holding up my Swinton merger," Harvey said as he walked down the halls expecting Mike to follow.

"Oh, it's just a nuisance suit that needs to be cleaned up before we can clear escrow. I'm all over it."

Harvey stopped in his tracks. "Why wasn't that the first thing you told me?"

"Uh, I thought I was getting exposed. This is a little less important."

"My merger..." Harvey raised a hand up to show the level of care he held. Then lowered it. "Your panic attack."

"Your compassion," Mike proceeded to go even lower with his own hand, missing the chuckle that was so minute, only Donna could have seen it.

He wasn't even sure which secret he'd rather have exposed. Both were fraudulent and had jail time attached. If one secret was exposed, the other was likely to follow. Meghan's community service position could be revoked, the Marshalls would move her to another state, and he'd spend years in prison, 6 months for every case he touched.

"Nervous?" Jessica asked as she lifted a glass of wine to her lips. She took a sip, waiting for Mike's reply.

"I'd be lying if I said no," he sighed.

"Well, I wouldn't want you to lie," she replied. Her emphasis on that one word was missed due to the thoughts that were rampaging through his head. The repercussions for Meghan. The possibility of getting caught. For all he knew, Jessica had some sort of law enforcement lying in wait to place the cuffs on him.

They shared some laughs. Some were about the college days which, for the most part, had to be made up for Mike and some were high school. The most honest portion of the evening came when Jessica had asked why Mike wanted to be a lawyer.

The evening came to an end, and Jessica left Mike to pay for the meal. He was so trusting. It was a trait Neal had tried to change. As much as Mike enjoyed reading, he still had a lot to learn about reading between the lines in life. He had no problem with words on paper. If someone he trusted, other than Meghan, were to lie to him, he wouldn't have believed it. And he was starting to trust Jessica. Maybe even as much as he trusted Harvey and Donna.

And if Harvey and Donna could be trusted with the Harvard Secret, maybe he could finally tell them how he really knew Meghan.

"You have some nerve coming back here after betraying your only friend," Meghan said as she walked through the door to their apartment. Trevor was packing what little he had brought back with him from his time in Montana.

"Your brother, sent me away so he could sleep with my girlfriend."

"Your girlfriend? After he bailed you out of jail, you told him the relationship was over. You lost the right to call her yours when she lost faith in you. And he was going to tell you himself, but no. You had to be your usual prick-self and listen to his voicemail, just like when you opened his Harvard acceptance letter."

"Not this again."

"Why? Because I'm right? Well, guess what… here's another thing for me to be right about. If you hadn't read the acceptance letter, Mike would have graduated from Harvard. You didn't come up with the moron plan to steal those test answers until after you read it!" If there was something Meghan was good at figuring out, it was timing. "Thanks to you, it's only a matter of time until someone in the know decides they don't want this hanging over their head, Mike gets arrested, and I get shipped off to some undisclosed location until I'm old enough to opt out of the program."

If she were strong enough, she would have fought him as her brother did all those weeks ago. She would have done so anyway, but Meghan really didn't feel like cleaning that type of cut again.

As soon as Trevor walked out the door, Meghan went to call Mike. She changed her mind, not about telling him, but about how to tell him. She knew Mike was at the dinner with Jessica, so interrupting it wasn't bound to happen. It was better to do this in person.

The light may have been on before Mike came home, but Meghan was fast asleep on the couch. It looked like she was waiting up to tell him something. He leaned slightly over the back of the futon and brushed the hair out of his sister's face.

She moved just enough for Mike's hand to freeze. Meghan hadn't been sleeping well ever since he started dating Jenny and Trevor's sudden return was making it worse. So, he didn't want to ruin whatever sleep she had managed to get.

Morning came, a school day, and Meghan was still asleep. Mike had since gone to work, leaving a note for her that the school was called, and she would be staying home. He didn't even want to see her at the office.

Whatever you wanted to say last night, we'll talk about it when I get home.

As usual, Meghan didn't listen to the note. When she woke up, she got dressed and hailed a cab to the firm. Just because she missed a day of school didn't mean she had to lose a few hours or work.

Her first stop at the office was Donna's desk, but no one was there. Harvey was alone in his office. Meghan had already gained his attention just by walking up to Donna's desk, so she did the only logical thing. She approached the door and knocked. He motioned for her to enter.

"If you're looking for Mike, he's taking care of something for my merger which I'm sure he's told you about."

"Contrary to what you think, Mr. Ross doesn't tell me everything. Only what I need to know. And I was looking for him, but since he's out, I guess I'll wait at his desk and let you get back to work." She turned around to leave.

"Before you go," Meghan stopped, her hand on the door. She was starting to understand how Mike felt whenever Harvey started acting like a parent with him.

"Yes, Sir?"

"How do you know Mike?"

"I'm sorry?"

"I'm just figuring some things out, because a few weeks ago, I called him in to the office and there was a kid's voice on his end of the line. Your voice."

"Radio waves can distort voices. Are you sure it was mine you heard? We do live in the same building."

"Your Firm file doesn't have a legal guardian on it."

Meghan closed her eyes. How was she going to get out of this one? "What's your question?"

"Do your parents know about any of this?"

Her spirit died for a split second, barely long enough for the hallow glaze of her eyes to be noticed. "They know. But signing it won't be possible."

"Are they out of the country?"

"Huh… I guess they are… in a sense… But something tells me you already knew that. I did tell you I was raised by my con artist brother after all. And you had a private investigator try and fail to follow me around."

"I only did that to protect the Harvard secret."

Meghan sighed. "Mr. Ross's secret is safe with me, Sir. I have my own secrets that could land me in WITSEC or jail myself. With all your spying on me, you might have noticed that, unlike the three of you, I never talked about this lie with anyone, even Mike… May I go, now? I've answered your questions, or at least the ones you wanted answered today."

Harvey nodded and she took her leave. The mystery surrounding Meghan kept growing.
