Chapter 14: Tragedy in the Fighting Tournament

At the poolside at the Acacia Estates, Fahkumram noticed how serious Jin is after they encountered them both at the Mall of Asia with both Broadie and Lidia. He remembers as how Rhima tells him about his father Hunyo when he had entered a fighting tournament, reminding him of what has happened to him when being bribed and force to fight wild animals brutally. He then decided to go see both Jin and Rhima.

Inside, Rhima remembers the time when her father Hunyo had decided to compete in the tournament in Bangkok, believing to be a karate sports tournament which can demonstrate most of the karate skills than other Karate practitioners. She was surprised when they heard someone presses a doorbell only for Jin to open the door and he saw Fahkumram.

As he decided to look after both of them, Jin wanted to know her recent troubles from her mind.

"You can tell me if you have problems. You were satisfied after I bought some hoodie for your disguise."

"I had no problems, Jin. I just remember what happened to my dad when he had participated on that fighting tournament. I'm just a kid at that time and I always support him." Rhima said while lowering her head in upset.

"I wanted to know something from you too. Judging from your depression, It was just like how I was bribed by the corrupted Thai police and military when they took my wife and daughter as a hostage by fighting in an underground death tournament and taking control of me by the military knowing that Japan's very own Mishima Zaibatsu is a huge threat to our home country." Fahkumram said in Thai language.

"We enjoy life taking vacation in Bangkok, it was a nice place until my dad decided to participate in the tournament for fun. He believes that tournament he had participated was like a world karate championships. But not an actual fight. At first, he tried to demonstrate his karate moves but not knowing he was attacked by his opponent and this is how he started to fight them thinking they did it on purpose." Rhima said as a flashback occurred.

Flashback:

Fourteen years ago, Hunyo stands up after he was knocked down from getting beat up by his opponent and soon pummels his opponent with his own moves as he immediately knocks him down with a straight thrust. They cheer upon Hunyo because of his win in the first round. Afterwards, both him and Marissa are arguing about the tournament he had participated.

"Hunyo... you can't be serious! This is not the karate championship you had participated. That tournament is filled with blood violence! We have to forfeit this right now!"

"Marissa... I know this tournament is important to me. But this guy had started to fight me head on. I can't let this guy trying to put me in with blood and guts."

While they are arguing over their decision whether to leave in forfeit or not, Jun Carlo had seen some Thai military passing by to watch a tournament and Rhima just looked on their faces.

"Brother, is something going on with these soldiers?"

"It can't be... these military Thai police. I suspected they are corrupted. I guess I have to inform our father about this." Jun Carlo said knowing of their presence.

During the final round of the tournament when Hunyo had brutally defeats Domon, he was filled with guilt while looking on his fist which was stained in Domon's blood as most Thai police and military including from Interpol had an entrapment operation on the rogue and corrupted police and military and they were arrested for their crimes as the fighting tournament they had recently held were illegal, resulting into the disbandment. Both Rhima and Jun Carlo had seen Hunyo became upset because it was against his code, never to kill people with his own bare hands and was console by his friend Roderick who is also from Interpol.

Flashback over:

"So your father is just like on my current fate, he is also a victim like me from those corrupted royal Thai police and the military. The tournament he had participated on was a fighting death tournament. You were so lucky that Bangkok in your place is very peace and quiet. But how did they rescue your father in the first place?" Fahkumram said in a deep tone which Rhima states.

"It was my late brother and Uncle Roddy, an old friend of my dad who currently works at the Interpol along with the royal Thai police and their armed forces who made an entrapment operation against corrupted and rogue ones. He knows about my dad's problems. I met Uncle Roddy after my dad had befriended him after the rescue."

"Rhima, I think it's about to time to tell you about the tournaments. At least the big guy was here..." Jin said finally made up his mind to tell Rhima the whole truth about competing in the fighting tournament. "Competing in the King of the Iron Fist is no walk in the park and back when I'm still a teenager, I was heavily trained by my late grandfather Heihachi with Mishima-style Fighting Karate. That training he gave me was very brutal and all I had do to myself is to training alone. When I compete at the third tournament four years later, my original fighting style was a blend between the Advanced Mishima-Style Fighting Karate and the Kazama-Style Self Defense, it was really a brutal fight and can kill anybody with your own two fists. I was very resilient to fight my opponents even though I was totally bruised and battered when they tried to take me down."

"So that's what the military had wanted me to compete on that fighting tournament you had said. To represent my home country in Thailand and to become victorious." Fahkumram said knowing of their plans of controlling him.

"If you were there, Rhima. I know you would be crying upset if you see me had many bruises on my face and body." Jin said teasing her if she was at the third tournament at the time. She would see him badly beaten and bruised.

"Don't worry about your father, Lima... I'm sure he continues to train himself vigorously to battle that man he had brutally defeated in the past." Fahkumram said trying to cheer Rhima up which she nods in agreement and he decided to live in the real world like Jin. "If your friend likes in your world to live here then I am... I want me and my own family to have this freedom for a very long time to live in peace."

Rhima stands up since her spirits were lifted up by both of them and finally tells them.

"You can stay as you please, Fahkumram at least Rom and your family are helping him on his Thai restaurant business and I'm glad you're here with Jin to protect me despite your intimidating appearance."

Fahkumram was happy to hear from her words and Rhima looks at Jin and begins to tease him of how overpowered he is in the third game he had canonically debuted.

"As for you, Jin. I haven't seen you using your old fighting moves from the third game. A lot of gamers who played as you in the third game knows how overpowered you are. But I played as you when you already unlearned that style for that Kyokushin one when I started playing the fifth game by now."

Jin stands up because Rhima had known of his backstory due to her as a genius prodigy which he begrudgingly admits it.

"You always got me, Rhima."

Rhima simply smiles when he said this about his previous backstory and Jin continues to tell her.

"The truth is, I unlearnt my old fighting style to mastered Traditional Karate in two years. I don't know if I could remember my old moves because I'm more focused on destroying the Mishima bloodline back then. That's when my grandfather had betrayed me after I defeated Ogre at the conclusion of the third tournament and this is how it awakens the Devil inside of me and why I survived from getting a shot in my head even though, I suffered multiple gunshots from the Tekken Forces that my grandfather had sent."

"Seems like you have to use that former fighting style if its necessary. I'll find someone who can recall your old fighting moves." Fahkumram said and soon stand up and decided to leave.

"Forgive me, Rhima... I think I would show you my old fighting style that I had unlearned and I think you would see my Omen stance or I might recall some of my former moves." Jin said finally apologize to her which she accepts.

"It's okay... Even Mr. Lee wouldn't see you doing that too."

Back at Sathorn Garden, Hunyo was done practicing his current fighting style and noticed something suspicious. Sensing the enemy's presence, he attempted to punch someone but he dodges the move due to its acrobatics skills.

"You haven't changed a single bit, Hunyo. It's like how I rescued you back then."

Hunyo noticed it was actually Roderick Narcianceno who visits in Sathorn Garden after learning he was targeted by the same enemy organization.

"Roddy... you also haven't changed too. Fourteen years ago, when you were rescued me after I brutally beat Domon, you were physically fit. And now you need exercise after I saw you became overweight."

"Don't make some body shame remarks, Hunyo. This is how plus-sized people are fascinated by food even my work as a chef." Roderick said and tries to demonstrate his dance moves to see him remain flexible despite his size. "It's like the American obese guy from the Tekken game, he's fast for his heavy size like me."

With the song "Power" has been played, he dances similarly to the one of the characters in Bust A Move, Hunyo also did the same imitating his dance moves and realizing that Roderick is telling the truth. He was still flexible and fast despite his size.

"All right... you're fast it's like Robert "Bob" Richards would go beat them despite his heavy size."

"I worked as a chef from the royal Thai monarchs and they loved my cooking and my dance performances. Especially a member of Interpol. Looks to me that you were mainly targeted by that Black Devil organization."

"We'd got to talk about Roddy... my friends are there too." Hunyo said and allowing Roderick to join with them.

At the main headquarters of Black Devil organization, Domon has another way in how to find them. Not just to assassinate them but to capture one of them as he orders Veron while speaking on the monitor.

"Veron... I have some task for you, you must capture Hunyo's beloved wife. No one else, finding them separate would be difficult to locate."

"But sir... I almost capture their daughter Rhima who had tried disguising herself as a man."

"I have other plans for her and Hunyo. Whoever is vulnerable, this is where we're gonna lure them."

"Hmmm... I should try... since I was still around in Manila hunting them down."

"Very well... just find Hunyo's beloved wife. So that we can lure these two out." Domon said and finally cuts off afterwards.

Outside Rosewood in Acacia Estates, Lee accompanies Rhima since he was the only character who never participated in the third tournament while Lars is with them wearing an olive robe, white trousers and brown sandals.

"To be honest, Rhima... I was casted away by the Mishima clan after I tried to further investigate Kazuya and his demonic side. Are you saying that Jin can even do the Mishima-ryu Karate."

"Yes... I really hoped he could recall it since he unlearned that fighting style in favor of mastering his current one. That's the reason Jin spent two years in Brisbane to master Kyokushin Karate. I maybe a genius prodigy who knows everything, I don't even know about your main lives in your own world." Rhima said becoming disappointed since she never knew about their main lives in the world of Tekken.

"Rhima, our lives in our world is very complicated. I guess Jin wanted to tell you more very often. People in real-life are completely different than us because we're just characters from the game and everyone needs to know about our main lives." Lee replied in a reassuring tone as Lars nudges him.

"Lee, check it out... I guess Jin is gonna fight the Wing Chun master."

"It's Leroy..."

Fahkumram was present to see them and he informs Rhima about that match that they're gonna do.

"This isn't a sparring match, Lima. The old man wants your friend to recall his old moves."

Rhima looked to see Jin wearing his primary karate attire and Leroy allows Sugar to go with her to watch as he soon responds.

"I may not be a participant of the previous tournaments you've had entered. If you want to reacquire your former fighting style that you've unlearned then you have to face me one-on-one."

Jin looked to see Rhima, Lee and Lars until the arrival of both Lidia, Broadie while Alisa and Reggie arrives to see them after she flies him back with her jetpacked wings to watch them both as he goes on his fighting stance to battle Leroy.

Trivia:

*Hunyo's tragic incident in the fighting death tournament that he had participated is much like Fahkumram's backstory in Tekken 7 since both men were caught up by corrupted or rogue Thai police and its military army.

*Roderick "Roddy" Nacianceno made his appearance for this chapter as his present appearance is based on Hee Shin Dong better known as Shindong, one of the members of the popular Korean boyband Super Juniors as his past appearance and his surname is based on both actor and director Coco Martin whose real name is Rodel Nacianceno is best known for portraying the main protagonist Ricardo "Cardo" Dalisay in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

*Lars' sleepwear is the same sleepwear from the defunct Tekken Roleplay after being freed from brainwashing and the removal of the microchip that was implanted on his forehead.

*Jin and Leroy finally face off in a one-on-one fight mirroring the scenes from the upcoming anime Tekken: Bloodline during the official trailer.
