Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Justice League. I only own the OC Drake Redgrave. Also, all credit to Zer0the0mega108's story A Devil's Justice for being a inspiration to this story.
"Diana, why are we doing this?" Drake asked as he stood on the beach of a tropical island somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Diana had suggested bringing them here for this spar so they don't have the risk of harming civilians. Drake agreed and Diana had picked him up before flying them here. It was a pretty beautiful island, had a nice beach, the sun was high in the clear blue sky.
Why do tropical islands always look the best place for a vacation?
"I want to test your Demonic power, your strength." Diana said as she stood across from him. The two were dressed in casual clothing. Well, Drake was dressed in a tanktop and shorts, but had taken his boots and socks off. Diana wore a crop top and short shorts, which highlighted her long, smooth legs. She was also barefoot. "I've read stories on Sparda's strength and power, saying he can take on gods and beings even stronger than the gods. I want to see if his son holds that as well."
"I think he's scared to get his ass kicked, Di!" A voice called, making them both look over to see Hawkgirl sitting on a nearby log with her mace beside her. She was their only audience, having nothing to do and decided to come with them and watch the fight. Plus she's pretty curious about Drake's strength and power herself. "Get his ass handed to him by a girl."
"That is NOT what I'm feeling." Drake pointed at her as she smirked at him cheekily. "I just don't see the point in-" Drake raised his hand in time to grab Diana's fist before it could impact his face. This resulted in the ground shaking slightly and sand to kick up, causing Hawgirl to cover her eyes with her wing before the sand could fly into them.
"Woah..." Hawkgirl said as she lowered her wing.
Drake looked at Diana with a raised eyebrow as she smirked at him. "Okay then... it's on." He said before he shoved her fist aside and faked a left, only to land a right into her ribcage. Diana retaliated with a left that Drake blocked with his elbow, then he knocked her right aside and went for a punch to her face only for her to lean back and wrap her legs around his arm before sending him into the sand.
Diana stood with a smirk. "I'm an Amazon, Drake. I was trained from a young age to be a great fighter. And, no offence, my friend, but your fighting style needs work. It's almost..."
"Brawlish?" Hawkgirl snorted. "Like some street fighter and that's all he knows?"
"Hey!" Drake stood. "It's a work in progress!"
Okay, so he didn't have the same fighting style or training as Diana and Batman. He did fight like a brawler, with a street fighting style due to all the fights he's gotten into when he was at school. Plus, he mostly saved the hand-to-hand fighting for criminals. He always used his sword and guns for Demons.
"Regardless, you need training." Diana said seriously, getting his attention. "You won't always be fighting common thugs, Drake. You may come across a very skilled fighter that could rival Batman or even myself or Hawkgirl there. If that happens, you'll need to have the necessary training and fighting style to fight that kind of opponent."
"That an offer to train me?" Drake asked.
Diana smirked. "Of course. Considering this your first lesson as well as my curiosity to see how strong you are."
Hawkgirl sighed. "How about we make a bet out of this?" She suggested, getting Drake and Diana's attention. "The loser of this fight has to pay for our meals afterwards."
Drake frowned at her. "Why would we have to pay for YOUR meal?"
"Oh come on don't be like that you two? Aren't we teammates?"
"We met a month ago and not exactly hung out enough to be close for that." Drake stated bluntly.
"And I make enemies, then drink with them, in a shorter amount of time." Drake shook his head but conceded since he saw no reason to argue. "So it is settled: Loser pays for lunch." Hawkgirl said,
"Fine then." Drake said and faced Diana. "Shall we continue?"
"Let's." Diana smirked before she lunged and nearly took Drake's head off had he not ducked in time to avoid it. Diana didn't dally and was back on the attack before he even knew it, throwing left and rights that he managed to parry and block, but barely since she was fast and trained to be so. Diana saw Drake duck a punch and spun for a spinning heel kick only to see Drake was not there.
Diana looked around before her senses went wild, causing her to turn around to block a kick to her arm only to be sent flying and crashing into several trees from the surprise chop to the head as the Half-Devil landed back to the sand.
"Damn, nice hit." Hawkgirl muttered as she turned back to Drake who simply stood where he was, and she took the time to check him out. He seemed like your everyday teenage boy, one who looked like he had gone to the gym to get an average, athletic, slightly muscular body, and you definitely grind meat on them defining muscles. Plus he had cute ass. "Mama likes."
"What was that?" Drake looked over at her.
"Nothing!" Hawkgirl grinned at him.
He frowned at her but his senses alerted him to incoming danger and he raised his open hand in time to grab Diana's fist before it could be driven right into his stomach. He looked at the Amazonian warrior before he spun around her kicking her in the side sending her flying a bit, but she regained her footing and bolted towards him. He blocked her punch to his left arm, grunting a bit from the pain but followed with a powerful right hook. They sent a barrage of fists that sent everything flying with such force that Hawkgirl flew into the air.
The sand storm soon died down as Drake backflipped from Diana. The Amazon saw he had quite a few bruises due to her punches but she felt relief when seeing them heal instantly due to his healing factor. Diana had to admit, for a boy with no experienced training like she has, he was holding his own well against her... but it's still not enough. He needed to be trained well and not resort to street fighting style.
Diana lunged at him again and he rolled to duck her attack only for her to grab the back of his top, lift him up and slam him into the sand before she lifted a leg and brought her heel down on his chest.
Drake groaned. "Now that was a kick." He wheezed.
Diana smirked. "Give up?"
Drake looked up at her and saw how... beautiful she looked with the sun behind her, casting her in an enchanting glow. "Y-Yeah. I think I will. Plus I think this was a good way to start training."
Diana snorted before she took her foot off his chest and offered a hand which he took and she pulled him to his feet. "You did well against me. But, in time, you'll get better."
"Why do you want to help me, Diana?" Drake asked her curiously.
"W-Well, you're my friend, right?" Diana asked and he nodded. "Then as my friend, who's helping me adjust to Man's world, I will help you with becoming a great fighter worthy of Sparda's name."
Drake couldn't help but smile at her. "Thanks, Diana... I appreciate it."
Diana smiled back at him. "Of course."
Hawkgirl snorted as she watched the two stare into each other's eyes. 'Yeah, I won't be surprised if these two get together in a month or two from all this training they do with one another. Diana did tell me Drake was going to show Diana how much the world has changed. They'd make a cute couple though.'
Hawkgirl then clapped her hands once, drawing the Amazon and Half-Devil's attention to her. "Okay! Enough daydreaming, you two, Drake lost the fight so he lost the bet which means..."
Diana smirked and looked at a now annoyed Drake. "you have to pay for our dinner, Drake.
"Goddammit..."
And that's it for this chapter everyone. Yeah, not just Batman's gonna train Drake, but so is Wonder Woman. I mean, Drake's fighting style is similar to a street figther right now. Remember, he's only used his fists for criminals, thugs that aren't skilled like Deathstroke. And Drake only uses the sword and guns on Demons and aliens most likely.
He's not as skilled in fighting like Batman or Wonder Woman, but with their help... he will be. This story's all about him becoming a great hero, learning stuff from basics and becoming skilled at stuff like fighting. That's why I had him start with a street fighter fighting style instead of outright revealing that he knows every fighting style in the world.
Plus, he's a young kid, he's gotta have some heroes that will train him how to fight and improve from it.
