Flash and Giselle's Quest
Some time ago, Giselle and Flash were making their way through the streets of Heahea City. The newly evolved Alolan Marowak trailed behind the young couple while a strange yet cute looking Raichu levitated through the air next to Marowak.
"You know we've still got some time to kill before the Pokemon League starts, why don't we take the time to relax?" Flash suggested while shooting a glance towards the nearby beachside with a longing look. "We've accomplished what we came here to do and it'd be a shame if we didn't get to enjoy ourselves while we're here."
"Rai rai!" Raichu excitedly cried out in agreement with his trainer.
Giselle uttered out a light huff as she gave her boyfriend a look. "I hope you didn't forget that we needs sponsors to participate in the Silver League, we were able to skip the badge requirement in the Indigo League thanks to our grades but we can't accomplish that a second time. We'll need to find somebody to sponsor us, especially if you plan on being the world's first Electric specializing Elite Four member!"
Flash sweated lightly. "But there's an entire two months between the Indigo League ending and the Silver League starting up, why the rush?"
"Because the people around here aren't from the Kanto/Johto area, I'm sure that somebody around here will be eager to sponsor a pair of rising stars!" Giselle exclaimed with stars in her eyes.
Flash uttered out a light sigh as he cast another look towards the beach before nodding in agreement with his girlfriend as the pair traversed through the city in search of a sponsor.
"Come to the Rainbow Happy Resorts, we're always happy to accept guests no matter where they're from so long as they're rich!"
"How about him?" Flash suggested with a tone that suggested he didn't care who their sponsor was, he pointed towards an older man that was a bit on the heavy side and had a balding head.
"No thanks, that guy gives me the creeps!" Giselle shivered.
Flash was silent for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Good point." The pair continued on for their way before stopping as they heard a familiar voice, one which they'd heard broadcasted alongside Giovanni twice now.
"I really appreciate your research on Ultra Space, Lusamine. This will come in handy when I design the space suit for my so-er my company!" Ezekiel laughed out.
A fairly attractive older woman stood next to the millionaire, she had long blonde hair that draped over her shoulder along with bright emerald green eyes. She wore a white dress with gold trimmings along with a pair of white and good heels. The woman's gaze was fixated upon a box that the man carried beneath his arm. "So that's why you designed those rocket boots... though I can't understand why a company invested in designing Pokeballs and other Pokemon related technology such as the Linking Cord would be interested in a 'suit that can withstand the pressure of entering and exiting atmospheres'." She spoke with a light suspicious tone.
Ezekiel began to sweat lightly. "Well you know us millionaires, we like to throw away our money just to show that we can!" He laughed.
Lusamine narrowed her eyes as it was clear she wasn't buying it. "Uh huh, just remember our deal. You're to share that design with me when you're done, I have my own plans for that technology. And you're to introduce my daughter to your son, I'm sure that they'd make a cute couple!"
"This again?" Ezekiel groaned out as he shot Lusamine a light glare. "I already told you there's no way that I'm doing that, you may just be trying to 'secure a good future for her' but I plan on letting my son live out his dream of becoming a Pokemon Champion, he's not going to follow in my footsteps I assure you."
"And that's exactly why the should get together, Lillie can stay in Alola and perform her duty as the Aether Foundation's leader while your 'powerful' son is there to protect her and ensure that nothing bad happens to her!" Lusamine exclaimed with a bit of a crazed look forming upon her face as she appeared to be flashing back to a traumatic event of some sort.
Ezekiel shook his head. "No, sorry. That wasn't part of our deal and I could never do that to my boy, he deserves to choose his own girlfriend. Besides I'm fairly certain that if I agreed, his friends would likely come after me and her for that. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a retired Totem Pokemon to catch. Just got to find me a competent and powerful trainer to help me out."
"I'm competent and powerful!" Flash was quick to jump in as he saw an opening to get a sponsor for him and Giselle.
Giselle shot her boyfriend a look for rudely entering a conversation like he did before chiming in. "That's right, my boyfriend and I would be happy to help! You see we're looking for a sponsor so we can enter the Silver League."
"Ah, the Silver League! You know a good buddy of mine just sponsored a kid your age for that, think his name was Blast Ketchup." Ezekiel laughed while displaying his inability to remember names.
"Blast Ketchup...? Never heard of him." Flash spoke.
"Blast Ketchup... wait-do you mean Ash Ke-?" Giselle was interrupted as Ezekiel was quick to accept their help.
"I'll be glad to sponsor you kids! Now I hoped you brought some winter clothes with you, if not I'll just buy them for you, as we're going to the peak of Mount Lanakila!" Ezekiel exclaimed before giving Lusamine a silent wave as he led the trainers away. "You see here in the Alola region, certain Pokemon referred to as 'alphas' are blessed by the legendary Tapu of the region and given incredible power and strength to serve as 'Totems'. Catching said Totems is usually illegal but I happen to know that there's one atop the mountain that was part of a long since abandoned trial, there's nobody overseeing it and the Kahuna has no plans of remaking the trial and even gave me permission to catch the former Totem if I can find it which I'd really like to do as I'm sure the aura it generates would make a great alternate power source!"
"That sounds good to me, so are we supposed to catch this thing for you?" Giselle questioned.
"Yep, after all I have no Pokemon of my own." Ezekiel motioned towards his belt. "So I need proper escorting up the mountaintop, I can find the Totem on my own but getting up there and catching it is an entirely different story."
"Hold up, didn't you say your son wants to be a Champion? Why didn't you bring him along with you?" Flash questioned.
"His sixteenth birthday is a little over a year away," Ezekiel explained.
"Ah well you can leaving the battle to us then, and Giselle can catch the Totem Pokemon for ya. I only catch Electric types!" Flash let out a light laugh.
"Rai rai!" The Alolan Raichu laughed alongside his trainer.
"But I also have attacks capable of dealing with Ice types." Flash twirled the ball containing Zebstrika atop his finger.
"And my partner Pokemon is more than ready to deal with whatever Ice types await us!" Giselle smirked while looking towards Marowak.
Marowak twirled his fiery club while chanting out in agreement. "Marowak, wak wak!"
"Well alright then, sounds like the two of you are exactly what I'm looking for!" Ezekiel smirked before motioning with his hand. "Let's go!"
"Ha, I can't believe I managed to catch that Golem!" Flash excitedly laughed out as he held a Pokeball within the palm of his hand.
Giselle similarly looked at a Pokeball but didn't say anything as she placed it upon her belt. "Alright Ezekiel, how exactly are we going to know where to find the Totem? Do you have some crazy device capable of locating it or-?"
"Hm? Oh, I don't need a device to find it!" Ezekiel laughed with a quick shake of his head before pointing towards his forehead. "Everything I need to help is inside my head."
"What?" Giselle and Flash shot each other a look of confusion before sweating as Ezekiel suddenly sat down in the snow and closed his eyes.
"Um, what's he doing?" Flash questioned.
"I-I think he's meditating..." Giselle sweated.
"Yes... and I could use some quiet!" Ezekiel lightly snapped.
Giselle and Flash stood in silence for a moment and watched as Ezekiel meditated.
"...You know for somebody whose supposed to be Cynthia's brother, he sure doesn't look like it." Flash commented before Giselle elbowed him in the ribs. "Ow!"
"Aha, found you!" Ezekiel suddenly shot up to point towards a cave further up the hillside. "It's in there!"
"All I need to know, let's go catch a Totem!" Flash shouted while racing up the hillside.
"Rai rai!" Raichu levitated after his trainer.
"Flash wait, we don't even know what's in there!" Giselle exclaimed as she raced after her boyfriend.
"Wak wak!"
Upon reaching the entrance they could see the cavern's inside which included a rather large Alolan Sandslash! They'd encountered a few on their way up the mountain so they were already familiar with the species.
"A giant Sandslash... that makes it an alpha, right?" Flash shot a quick look around before flashing a light smirk as he reached for Zebstrika's ball. "Zebstrika use Flame Charge!"
"Zeb!" The zebra neighed out while raising his forelegs into the air before a bright flame engulfed his body as he charged across the field before throwing himself at the giant Sandslash, knocking it off it's feet!
"S-Slash..." The Sandslash grunted out while flailing his arms and legs about as his spiked back got stuck in the ground.
Giselle saw an opening and took it, pulling an Ultra Ball from her pocket before hurling it across the cavern. The ball opened up as it approached the alpha before absorbing it as a bright red light engulfed it's body, the ball fell towards the snowy ground and began shaking back and forth before chiming out to indicate the capture a success!
"Alright, we did it!" Flash punched at the air as he let out a celebratory shout.
"Rai rai!" Raichu copied his trainer's actions while Giselle went to pick up the ball before turning to offer it to Ezekiel as the man entered the cave.
"Here you go sir, we caught the totem!"
"Hm?" Ezekiel touched the ball with his hand, his eyes closed once more before shortly opening back up as he shook his head. "Sorry but this ain't it."
"What?!" Flash, Giselle and their Pokemon face faulted before shooting back up.
"What do you mean that's not it?! There's nothing else here!" Flash motioned towards the cavern, not noticing a snow bank moving behind him as something burrowed through the snow.
Giselle shot a glance towards the cavern's ceiling as she checked for Zubat or other Flying types that could be roosting up there before jumping lightly as a Pokemon cried out at their feet.
"Ruff!"
"Ahhh!"
"Hey, it's a Growlithe!" Flash exclaimed while staring down at a small brown canine Pokemon that had a rocky mane. The puppy looked up at them and flashed them a cute expression as it panted out.
"Ruff ruff!"
"Not quite, that's a Rockruff." Ezekiel explained while reaching down to pet the puppy. "Hello little one, is your parent around?"
Rockruff's excited expression quickly turned to that of sadness as she gazed towards the ground. "Ruff..."
"I see," Ezekiel frowned while offering Rockruff a comforting pet. "I should have expected this, the trial's been unattended for several decades now. It makes sense that the Totem has passed away, I assume that this is their offspring... or possibly the descendant of their offspring given the size. Though it must still have the Totem's aur-er energy!" Ezekiel closed his eyes once more before offering Rockruff a warm smile. "Rockruff, how would you like to come back to Hoenn and live with me? I'd like to siphon off some of your energy to study it and I'm sure that you'd be great company to have!"
Rockruff panted out, her tail started to wag as she gave off a quick nod. "Ruff ruff!"
Ezekiel pulled a Luxury Ball from his pocket before kneeling down to offer it to Rockruff. Rockruff let out a bark before giving it a swift headbutt, allowing for herself to be caught as the ball shook once before promptly chiming out to indicate the capture! Ezekiel then turned towards Flash and Giselle before giving them a thumbs up. "Alright Voltage and Deer, I'll sponsor ya!"
Flash and Giselle smiled while thanking the man for his generosity. Though as they parted ways with him upon reaching the bottom of the mountain, Flash quickly turned towards Giselle.
"That was quite strange, how did he know where Rockruff was? And how did he know that it wasn't Sandslash?"
Giselle shrugged. "It must be some technology we don't understand, he did create those giant robotic Pokemon that roamed around PokePark after all." She then offered him a warm smile as she grabbed hold of his hand. "Though what does it matter? If he truly is hiding something then he likely has his reasons, he doesn't seem the sort to fund a villainous team or have a secret lab where he performs illegal experiments. Now let's stop worrying about that and simply enjoy ourselves, we've still got a day or two that we can spend relaxing at the beach!"
Flash's eyes lit up as he shot his girlfriend a look of excitement. "R-Right, let's get down to the beach! I can't wait to surf on those Mantine!"
"Rai rai!"
"And here's our final match of the evening folks, Giselle versus Ash! Which of these trainers will come out on top and advance to the top eight? We'll soon find out! Trainers prepare to send out your first Pokemon... ready, get set, and GO!"
"Kingler I choose you!"
"Salazzle let's do this!" Giselle threw up a ball which burst open to reveal a slender black and purple lizard Pokemon that had a feminine physique to it, the Pokemon's venomous purple eyes turned to face Kingler as it's long lizard tongue ran across her mouth.
"Salazz..."
"Incredible folks, it appears as if Giselle is showcasing off yet another Alolan Pokemon to us. What a treat!"
"I've never seen that Pokemon before!" Ash gasped while reaching for his Rotom Phone.
Todd and Rita were eagerly snapping pictures of the Alolan Pokemon while stars filled Janine's eyes.
"Wow, a Salazzle! I never imagined that I'd get to see one in action!"
"Croa..."
"Hm?" Brock heard his Pokemon croak out and turned to face him before forming a light smirk upon seeing hearts inside of Croagunk's eyes. "Heh, maybe I'll find one for you someday." He chuckled.
"Croa..."
"Salazzle the Toxic Lizard Pokemon, for some reason only females have been found. It creates a reverse harem of male Salandit that it lives with."
"Well that's helpful, eh Pikachu? ...Pikachu?" Ash turned around to see Pikachu staring at the Salazzle with a lovestruck expression, his cheeks burned bright red while hearts filled his eyes.
"Chaaaa..."
"Eevoi!" Eevee practically spat out venom as she snarled at Salazzle.
"Heh, that Pokemon sure does suit Giselle." Chloe commented with a light shake of her head before reaching out to stroke Eevee's head to help calm her down before she could do something rash and get the match cancelled.
"Go Giselle, you can do it!" Flash shouted into a mega phone as he cheered alongside Lt. Surge, having borrowed the mega phone that his father used to cheer him on in earlier matches. "Kick Ash's butt!"
Giselle giggled out and shot her boyfriend a wave before blowing him a quick kiss.
"Kingler use Crabhammer!"
"Cookie!" A stream of water formed around Kingler's pincer as he made his way across the field before lashing out at his opponent!
"Use Poison Gas and dodge!" Giselle swiftly commanded.
"Sala!" Thick clouds of purple smog emitted from Salazzle's mouth and drifted towards Kingler as she leaped out of reach. Kingler coughed out as he inhaled the smog, a purple tint began forming across his face.
"King..."
"Oh no, Kingler's been poisoned!" Chloe gasped out.
Ash clenched his fists while Giselle giggled out.
"Salazzle return for now," She swiftly returned Salazzle to her Pokeball before reaching for another. "Dragonair let's dance, Dragon Dance!"
"Dragoooo!" A Dragonair burst out and let out a beautiful melodic tune. A blue aura surrounded her body as she flew upwards before flying in a circular formation.
"Hyper Beam!" Ash shouted out while throwing his arm forward.
"Cookie!" The yellow-orange energy blast fired from Kingler's mouth and shot across the field before exploding against Dragonair's body.
Dragonair let out a soft grunt as she shook her head while Kingler flinched as the poison drained away some of his health. "Cookie..."
"Dragonair you use a Hyper Beam of your own!"
"Dragooo!" The orange-yellow energy blast fired from Dragonair's mouth and promptly exploded upon making contact with Kingler, sending the crab flying across the field before he collapsed against the floor. Kingler slowly began to raise back to his feet before uttering out a grunt as he fell back to the floor, the poison having sapped away the few bits of his energy that remained.
"Kingler is unable to battle, incredible! Giselle managed to-Wait what's happening to Dragonair?!"
"Kingler return, you were great out there and-Oh no." Ash froze up as the bright blue evolutionary light surrounded Dragonair's body. The serpent began shedding away her skin as a large orange Dragon Pokemon began taking form within the light.
"Dragooooo!"
"A Dragonite?! Heck yeah! You've got this, babe!" Flash excitedly shouted out.
"A Dragonite already?!" Chloe's eyes grew wide. A pseudo legendary was to be expected here, she just didn't expect Ash to come face to face with one in round three!
"This is going to be difficult..." Ash clenched his fists while thinking things over inside of his head before eventually reaching for another Pokeball. "Charizard I choose you!"
"Char!" Charizard shot a stream of fire into the air as he burst from his ball.
Dragonite smirked at Charizard while emitting a light grunt.
"Charr..."
Ash reached for his Mega Ring and swiftly activated it, causing a bright pink light to surround Charizard's body as he began the transformation into Mega Charizard Y. "Alright Charizard, let's show off the power of our bond with Mega Evolution!"
"Charrrr!" Charizard roared out before shooting another stream of fire into the air as he emerged from the light in his Mega form while heavy sunlight poured down onto the battlefield.
"Blast Burn!"
Charizard let out a loud roar as bright orange-red flames surrounded his body before a large geyser of fire blasted from his mouth and shot across the field, striking Dragonite's stomach! "Dragooo!" The Dragon let out a pained cry as a light scorch mark remained on her stomach.
"He's got to recharge, let's hit them with a series of Thunder Punches!" Giselle shouted out.
"Dragooo!" Dragonite's fists crackled with electricity as she shot across the field before delivering an electrically charged blow to Charizard's stomach before swiftly following up with a blow to his wings!
Charizard grunted out before uttering out an enraged roar as he recovered from the recharge! "Charrr!"
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted out.
"Charrr!" A blue-green dragon shaped energy beam emerged from Charizard's mouth and shot across the field, striking Dragonite directly in the chest while also knocking her back!
"Dragoo..." Dragonite grunted out with a pained expression.
"Draco Meteor!" Giselle ordered out.
"Dragooo!" Dragonite's mouth glowed orange as she shot a ball of orange light up into the sky, the ball soon burst into a series of orange lights which began crashing down upon the battlefield like meteors! Charizard let out a pained roar but remained standing as he was eager not to fail his trainer.
"Charr..."
"Stay strong Charizard, you can do this! Now hit them with another Dragon Pulse!"
"Dragooo!" Charizard opened his mouth before firing off another dragon shaped energy beam, the attack shot across the field before exploding upon striking the target causing smoke to cover the opponent for a brief second before the smoke faded away to reveal the form of the downed Dragon Pokemon.
"Charrrr!" Charizard shot a stream of fire into the air in celebration of his victory while the crowd cheered loudly.
"And after an incredible fight between two titans, Dragonite goes down! What will happen next?!"
"Dragonite return," Giselle returned Dragonite to her Pokeball and froze for a moment as she appeared to be deep in thought. "Primarina, let's do this!"
"Primarina?!"
"Pika pi?!" Ash and Pikachu shared a look of confusion as Giselle sent out a beautiful sea lion Pokemon that greatly resembled the mermaids of stories, possibly even serving as the inspiration for them!
"She's beautiful!" Chloe gasped out while Todd and Rita eagerly snapped photos, Delia joining in this time as she wanted to take a picture of the beautiful Pokemon.
"If I remember correctly, that's the fully evolved form of Alola's Water starter." Brock spoke up. "Perhaps she traded with somebody while the two were in Alola?"
"Primarina the Soloist Pokemon, it controls its water balloons with song. The melody is learned from others of its kind and is passed down from one generation to the next!"
Ash pocketed his Rotom Phone before reaching for Charizard's Pokeball. "Charizard return for now, she can't sign if we cover her up. Muk I choose you!"
"Muk!" Muk burst from his Pokeball before staring Primarina down.
"Use hug!"
"What...?" Giselle sweated.
"Muk!" Muk leaped forward and pinned Primarina down causing the mermaid to desperately flail about as she was trapped beneath the sludge Pokemon, muffled cries could be heard indicating that she wouldn't be able to properly sing.
"Knock him away with Moonblast!" A light explosion was soon heard beneath Muk but the Pokemon didn't appear the least bit affected by it. Giselle glanced towards her wrist before flinching as she realized that she wouldn't be able to pull what she wanted off with Primarina stuck beneath Muk, was it worth throwing away her final return?
"Sludge Bomb!"
"Muk!"
"Mmmph!" A muffled cry was heard as Muk blasted her with a sludge bomb from up close! The mermaid flailed about in disgust for a brief moment before swiftly going limp as Muk slid off of her, revealing her defeated form!
"No way!" Giselle gasped out.
"Alright Muk, we did it!" Ash chuckled out before gasping as Muk tackled him and Pikachu to the ground!
"Muk!"
"Well that was... something. Primarina is down for the count folks, Giselle may have taken one of Ash's Pokemon down but she's lost two of hers. Will she be able to overcome this loss?!"
"Salazzle let's do this!"
"Sala!" Salazzle burst from her Pokeball once more as Giselle recalled Primarina.
"Use Attract!"
"Sala!" Salazzle leaned back lightly and performed a seductive pose for Muk causing hearts to form within the sludge Pokemon's eyes.
"Muk..."
"Chaa..."
"Eevoi..." Eevee snarled while trying to break free of Chloe's grasp, murderous intent flared within her eyes as she leered at Salazzle!
"Muk use Minimize!"
"Muk..." Muk was able to move as his gaze locked onto Salazzle with an infatuated expression.
"Dragon Pulse!"
"Sala!" Salazzle opened her mouth and fired off a blue-green dragon shaped energy beam, the attack shot across the field before exploding at Muk's feet sending him flying back!
"Come on Muk, you can fight it! Hit her with Sludge Wave!" Ash cheered Muk on in an attempt to break the spell.
"Muk..." Muk's attention remained on Salazzle, his loving personality no doubt made it hard for him to break from the spell that Attraction had cast upon him.
"Flamethrower!"
"Sala!" A powerful stream of fire shot from Salazzle's mouth, blasting Muk away before the sludge Pokemon melted in front of Ash, his eyes turned to swirls as he laid in defeat.
"Muk..." Muk groaned out.
"Giselle just evened things up! Will Ash be able to recover from this loss by releasing a female Pokemon or will Giselle surpass him and take the lead?!"
Ash clenched his fists as it just occurred to him that all of his current Pokemon were male. He really needed to fix that to avoid falling into a similar trap but perhaps there was one Pokemon that wouldn't fall for Salazzle's spell.
"Butterfree I choose you!"
"Freeeee!" Butterfree cried out as he emerged from his Pokeball.
"Use Psychic!"
"Freeee!" A bright blue glow surrounded Salazzle as she was hoisted into the air before she was slammed back against the ground shortly afterwards.
"Sala..."
Giselle gritted her teeth before throwing her arm forward. "Attract!"
"Sala!" Salazzle performed a seductive pose but much to Salazzle and Giselle's shock, Butterfree had no reaction!
"What?!"
"Sala?!"
"I knew it!" Ash smirked at Butterfree. "You couldn't fall for her spell because you already are in love!"
"Freeee!" Butterfree smiled at his trainer while giving a nod of confirmation.
Giselle's eye twitched before she quickly issued another command. "Flamethrower!"
"Send it back with Psychic!"
"Freeee!" A blue glow surrounded the flames as they raced towards Butterfree causing them to freeze in place before the flames were sent back towards Salazzle and flew right down her throat!
"Sala!" Salazzle coughed out while her eyes widened out as the flames burned inside her stomach.
"Now finish her with Electroweb!"
"Freee!" Butterfree fired off a stream of electric silk that began taking on the form of a net as it approached Salazzle before ensnaring her beneath resulting in an electrical surge flowing through her body!
"Sala!" Salazzle cried out as the electricity flowed through her body before going limp as swirls formed within her eyes.
"And Salazzle is down! Ash has taken the lead once more but can he keep it going strong?! Giselle has two Pokemon remaining while Ash has three, though with Charizard remaining in Mega form it sure won't be easy to overcome!"
"You can do it babe, don't lose hope!" Flash shouted through the megaphone.
Giselle flashed him an appreciative look as she recalled Salazzle to her Pokeball before gripping at another ball.
"Ninetales, let's do this!" Giselle shouted, revealing the Pokemon that she'd captured atop Mount Lanakila.
"Nine!" The beautiful blue icy fox Pokemon cried out while the audience uttered out a collective 'Ooooh!'.
"Oh my gosh, she's beautiful!" Chloe gasped as stars filled her eyes. "I wish I had one of my own!"
"An Alolan Ninetales," Brock smirked to himself.
"Vulpix..." Brock's Kantonian Vulpix gazed towards her evolved form with an admirable expression.
"Butterfree use Psychic!"
"Blizzard!" Giselle was quick to counter.
"Nine!" A fierce blizzard swept across the battlefield, striking Butterfree with a flurry of snow and ice! Butterfree shook himself off before uttering out a cry as he lifted Ninetales up and slammed her hard against the ground with telekinetic force! Ninetales grunted out and shook her head before leering at her opponent.
"Blizzard once more, we can do this!" Giselle shouted out.
"Nine!" Ninetales whipped up another fierce blizzard, pelting Butterfree with another flurry of ice and snow which soon resulted in the butterfly dropping to the floor in defeat as swirls formed within his eyes.
"Freee..."
"And Butterfree is out! It's now two for two folks, things could go either way as we near the end of the match!"
"Butterfree you were great out there, take a good long rest." Ash returned Butterfree to his ball and offered it a light smile before placing it back upon his belt. "Charizard I choose you!"
"Char!" Harsh sunlight poured down on the battlefield as Mega Charizard Y reemerged!
"Flamethrower!"
"Charrrr!" Charizard shot out a massive stream of fire that flew across the field, striking Ninetales as she cried out in pain from the harsh flames!
Giselle didn't appear the least bit worried as she lifted her arm, showcasing a black colored wristband of some sort that had a pink crystal embedded into it. Giselle and Ninetales began moving in synch. "Twinkle Tackle!"
"What's that?!" Ash asked while shooting a quick glance towards Pikachu who could only shrug in response before the two shared a worried look as they had a bad feeling about this. "Charizard fly up!"
"Char!" Charizard stretched his wings as he prepared to take flight but Ninetales was quicker, shooting across the field as a bright pink glow enveloped her body before she hurled her body at Charizard and slammed hard his chest, knocking him off balance and onto his back! "Charrr..."
"Come on Charizard, get back up! You can do it!"
"Pika pi!"
"Char..." Charizard gave Ash an apologetic expression before going limp as the pink light formed around his body once more.
"And Giselle has taken out Charizard with the assistance of a Z-Move! With Ash down to one Pokemon, Giselle could easily take home the win if he's not careful!"
"Z-Moves?" Ash tilted his head. "Is that something unique to Alola?"
"Yep!" Giselle giggled out before flashing a cocky expression. "And I'd like to see you try and beat both Ninetales and Marowak with your final Pokemon. There's no way that you could possibly handle both of them now!"
"We'll see about that, Pikachu I choose you!"
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped from Ash's shoulder before taking a battling stance on the field.
"Use Volt Tackle!"
"Pika pika pika PIKA!" Pikachu chanted out as he shot across the field, a bright golden electrical glow surrounded his body as he raced along before slamming headfirst against Ninetales!
"Nine..." Ninetales groaned out as she was knocked back.
"Ninetales use Moonblast!"
"Nine!" A bright pink energy sphere formed within Ninetales' mouth and shot out towards Pikachu, blasting at the ground beneath his feet and causing his to temporarily lose balance.
"Pika..."
"Pikachu let's use Voltage Vortex!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's eyes shot a bright blue color as a twister of purple telekinetic energy formed around his body, blue electricity crackled from his cheeks as blue lightning began filling the spiraling vortex. Ninetales dug her paws into the ground as she felt herself being pulled towards the vortex before uttering out a yelp as she was sucked in, the vortex hurled her about before giving her a painful electrified shock!
"Nine!" The Alolan fox screeched out as electricity flowed through her veins before she uttered out another yelp as she was sent hurling towards the ground below where she landed in a defeated slump!
"And Ash just evened things out with his one of a kind move! Things are now neck and neck as both have one Pokemon remaining, Pikachu took a bit of a hit already but could still prove a challenge to take out!"
"Marowak let's end this!" Giselle shouted.
"Wak!" Marowak twirled his fiery club as he leaped onto the field.
"Use Bonemerang!"
"Marowak, wak!" Marowak hurled his bone club across the field causing it to bonk Pikachu's head before flying back towards Marowak. Marowak leaped up and caught the club while giving Pikachu a hard stare.
"Volt Tackle!"
"Pika!" Golden electricity surrounded Pikachu once more as he shot across the field. "Pika pika pika..."
"Counter with Shadow Bone!" Marowak began rapidly spinning his bone club in place as the flames atop both ends turned a bright ghastly purple color. Marowak quickly struck towards the incoming Pikachu, bashing the club across his head before being sent flying by the force of Pikachu's tackle along with receiving an electrical shock! Both Pokemon grunted out before shaking themselves off as they leered at their opponent.
"I've never seen Shadow Bone before!" Chloe exclaimed. "It must be something unique to Alolan Marowak."
"Bonemerang!"
"Wak!" Marowak hurled his club across the field.
"Dodge it!"
"Pi, pi!" Pikachu zigzagged to try and avoid it only to find the club homing in on his location! "Chaaaa!" He cried out as it bonked against his head once more.
"Heh..." Giselle and Marowak shared a smirk.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Pikaaa...chuuuu!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked before he fired off a powerful bolt of electricity, the electric bolt struck Marowak and sent a powerful dose of electricity through his veins.
"Marowak!"
"Counter with your own Thunderbolt!"
"What?!"
"Pika?!"
"Marowak!" Electricity crackled around Marowak's own body before a powerful bolt of electricity fired across the field, striking Pikachu before unleashing a load of electricity into him!
"Chaaaa!"
"Pikachu!" Ash clenched his fists with a frustrated expression while Giselle and Marowak watched on with a cocky smirk. "Splishy Splash!"
"Eh? You seriously didn't change the name yet?" Giselle rolled her eyes while silently shaking her head. "That name is so childish!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raised his arms as a massive wave of electrified water formed beneath him, Pikachu then flashed Marowak and Giselle a smirk of his own as the wave began closing in on Marowak!
"Break it apart with Thunderbolt!"
"Marowak!" Marowak tried blasting the wave apart with an electrical bolt but they'd soon find that they only fed the attack's own electricity, intensifying the attack's output even more!
"PIKA!" Pikachu cried out as the electrified wave came crashing down on top of Marowak, delivering him an electrical shock as muffled screams could be heard from beneath the wave before the water evaporated, revealing the defeated form of Marowak as the crowd burst into cheers!
"And after a long action packed, thrilling set of battles this round has officially come to a close with Ash stealing the final win!" The announcer shouted out. "Now if you direct your attention towards the scoreboard, you'll soon see tomorrow's matchups!"
Ash, Flash, Gary, Leaf, Yellow and three other trainer's faces appeared onscreen and began shuffling around before Ash was paired up against Flash while Gary, Leaf and Yellow were all paired up against the other three trainers.
Giselle flashed a sly smirk as she glanced towards the screen before sticking out her hand to show Ash good sportsmanship. "Good luck tomorrow, my boyfriend isn't a pushover. You'll need more than just type advantage to win!" She laughed out.
"We'll see about that," Ash shook her head before flashing Surge's son a challenging look as the two stared each other down. Tomorrow would certainly be an exciting electrifying match!
So Gen 9 was revealed since my last update, I'm quite excited! Really love Sprigatito's design and as soon as we have a name for the Champion and learn about them(So probably not until release), I'll have a reason for why they weren't present when Rex/Steven/Cynthia/Alder/Diantha/Mustard made the decision to change the age requirement.
Just don't get your hopes up for Ash capturing starters, even if I like the other starters I'll likely give them to a rival like Gloria/Paul or one of the other main characters such as Chloe/Emerald Hero/May/Dawn as I intend on keeping his 'starter' count to a bare minimum hence why I brought Sceptile and Greninja(Sequel, remember! ;) ) in early so other Pokemon can shine. Plus I also want to avoid giving him 'base' captures in later stories outside of Greninja, maybe Infernape and the Legends portion of Sinnoh, leave that to the newer characters so his new Pokemon can hop straight to fighting alongside the old guard!
But man I apologize, I was keeping track of genders and making an effort to keep Brock and Chloe's teams balanced and could swear I was doing the same for Ash but when I was checking my list I legit froze up as I realized his entire team are males! Yikes... I've got to give him a female Pokemon, I considered retconning a Pokemon's gender and passing it off as Ash simply being 'dense' but I was against it as I hate retconning unless it's absolutely essential for story purposes(Or I simply forget which is quite possible at some point)
Anyways I hope you all enjoyed the battle, next time Ash faces Flash in the top eight as he moves closer to the semi-finals!
