The Finals!
"Your attention please, for the final round we'll be rotating the field after every other loss. The Professional Leagues change the battlefields at their conferences at a similar rate so this will be good practice, even those that have lost could learn a thing or two here so pay attention! The rules are the same as before with each trainer being allowed two rotations a piece while also being limited to one usage of Mega Evolution or a Z-Move. The battle will come to an end as soon as one side is unable to continue or forfeits, you two ready to get started?!"
"You know it!" Ash and Yellow shouted simultaneously before racing to get into battle positions.
"Then let the battle begin!"
"Nidoking, I choose you!"
"I choose you, Lucario!"
"Huh?" Ash and Yellow blinked as they realized their catchphrases were similar before shrugging it off, Yellow regained focus while Ash's eyes lit up upon noticing a tall blue and black furred jackal Pokemon that stood on the opposing side of the field. The jackal calmly gazed towards Nidoking and didn't even flinch as Nidoking uttered out a challenging roar.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Ash wondered while reaching for his Rotom Phone.
Chloe's eyes grew wide as her gaze focused upon Lucario. 'That Pokemon, it's taller than expected but that's the Pokemon from my dreams!' She recalled two rookie trainers standing next to an orange chicken Pokemon and a small blue and black jackal pup that had similar traits in common with Lucario, she could only assume that the Pokemon must be Lucario's pre-evolved form.
"Lucario the Aura Pokemon, it controls waves known as auras, which are powerful enough to pulverize huge rocks. It uses these waves to take down its prey."
"That sounds like quite the powerful Pokemon!" Ash exclaimed with an excited expression. "Alright Nidoking, let's hit them with Earthquake!"
"King!" Nidoking slammed his foot against the ground causing the battlefield to violently shake about while Lucario's arms and legs flailed about as the jackal attempted to keep balance.
"Heh, Bone Rush!" Yellow smirked.
"Carrr!" Lucario cried out as an aura infused bone club formed between his paws, the jackal quickly shot across the field before slamming the club atop Nidoking's eyes causing the Poison type to go cross eyed for a brief moment.
"King..." Nidoking grunted out before shaking his head as he regained focus. "Nidoking."
"Use Fire Punch!"
"King!" Fire engulfed Nidoking's fist as he shot across the field before punching Lucario's chest with his fiery fist. Lucario let out a pained gasp as the air was knocked out of his lungs. The jackal then uttered out a pained grunt as he gazed directly into his opponent's eyes with a calm yet intimidating expression.
"Carr..." He growled out.
"Let's hit him with another Bone Rush!" Yellow eagerly shouted out.
"Carrr!" Lucario snarled out while whipping out another aura infused bone club.
"Dodge it!" Though as this was Ash's first encounter with Lucario, he failed to realize just how fast they were. His speed made Nidoking's appear like a casual walk as he easily caught up to him before slamming his bone club atop the back of Nidoking's skull!
"Nido...king..." Nidoking grunted out before keeling over in defeat as swirls formed within his eyes.
"No way, he already lost one?!" Janine exclaimed.
"Figures, if I couldn't beat her then Ashy boy doesn't stand a chance." Gary shook his head.
"The battle's not over yet, Ash still has Pikachu, Charizard and Sceptile!" Chloe defensively spoke up.
"But will that be enough? Yellow's already proven herself to be quite the opponent, Gary's the only way that even managed to knock out two of her Pokemon. Everyone else got one if any!" Misty exclaimed.
"Nidoking return, don't worry you tried your best out there and that's what counts. Neither one of us knew what we were up against," Ash returned Nidoking to his ball and looked the situation over before reaching for another Pokeball. "Alright Charizard, I choose you!"
"Char!" Charizard shot a stream of fire into the air as he burst from his ball.
Yellow gritted her teeth upon Charizard's reveal. "Not now... Lucario return!"
"And it appears that Yellow has already decided to utilize one of her two swaps, a wise strategy considering that Charizard is one of if not the strongest of Ash's Pokemon. What will Yellow send out next?!"
"I choose you, Vaporeon!"
"Vapor!" The Water typed Eeveelution uttered out a melodic tune as she burst onto the rocky battlefield.
"And it looks like Yellow has chosen to go with Vaporeon! This Pokemon is quite powerful as she managed to-"
"Hey guys, did you know that-"
"Hey, how did you get in here? Security!"
"Vaporeon is the cutest of all Eeveelutions?!"
"Vaporeon?" Ash looked towards his wrist before proceeding to activate his Keystone. "Well no better time than the present, Charizard let's show these two the power of our bond with Mega Evolution!"
"Char!" A stream of fire shot into the air while a bright pink light enveloped Charizard's body as he began charging form until emerging as Mega Charizard Y! Harsh beams of sunlight poured down upon the battlefield at the Mega Evolution's presence.
Yellow couldn't help but frown while Vaporeon sweated with an uncomfortable expression as the intense heat bothered her. "Vapor..."
"Hydro Pump!"
"Counter with Solar Beam!"
"Char!" A bright beam of solar energy fired out of Charizard's mouth and shot towards the incoming water pulse, entirely dispersing it before continuing towards Vaporeon. The beam of solar energy soon exploded upon making impact with Vaporeon, knocking her back and causing her to fall into the nearby pool.
"Vapor!" Her body disappeared shortly upon making impact with the water causing Charizard and Ash's eyes to dart about as they tried locating her.
"Where did she go?"
Yellow couldn't help but smirk. "Hydro Pump!"
"Por!" A geyser of water shot out of the pool and struck Charizard's body, soaking the fire lizard though his skin soon dried up due to the sun's intense rays.
"I can't see her... but maybe we don't have to! Charizard use Thunder Punch on the pool's surface, lightly though we don't want to kill her."
Charizard grunted out while giving his trainer a quick nod. Electricity soon crackled through his fist as he lunged towards the pool causing an electrical shock to flow across the water's surface.
"Vapor!" Vaporeon shot into the air with a pained screech as electricity flowed through her veins before coming to a collapse beside the pool as swirls formed within her eyes. "Vapor..."
"Unbelievable, Ash managed to take out one of Yellow's Pokemon early on in the match. Perhaps he stands a shot against Yellow after all!" The announcer shouted out while the crowd cheered at Vaporeon's defeat.
"Vaporeon return, you were amazing out there and I couldn't ask anything else of you. Return." Yellow kissed the Pokeball before placing it back upon her belt. Her gaze lingered upon Charizard for a brief moment before she reached out for another ball. "I choose you, Blaziken!"
"Blaziken?"
"Pika pi?" Ash and Pikachu tilted their heads as they never heard of the Pokemon until the ball burst open to reveal a tall and slender fiery chicken Pokemon that had white feathers along the back of his head, resembling hair while the majority of his body was covered by red feathers with yellow feathers covering the lower halves of his legs. His bright yellow eyes lingered towards Charizard's as the two rivaling Fire types gave each other a challenging look.
'And that's the other one, the chicken!' Chloe gasped out.
"Alright Blaziken, we'll show them that they're not the only ones with Mega Evolution!" Yellow called out while activating her keystone causing a bright pink light to encase Blaziken's body as he began transforming into his Mega form.
"Blaziken the Blaze Pokemon, in battle Blaziken blows out intense flames from its wrists and attacks foes courageously. The stronger the foe, the more intensely this Pokemon's wrists burn."
"Blaziken!" The Mega Pokemon cried out.
"Charizard take to the air and hit him with Dragon Pulse!"
"Char!" Charizard spread his wings before taking off into the air, hovering a fair distance above the battlefield as he unleashed a pulse of blue-green dragon shaped energy upon his opponent! Blaziken grunted out as the pulse struck his knee cap causing him to temporarily drop to one knee before slowly hopping back onto his feet as he leered up at his opponent.
"Blaziken..."
"Hit them with Thunder Punch!"
"Thunder Punch? But Charizard's at least twenty feet above the field, how does she expect to hit him?!" Flash exclaimed.
"I don't think that's going to be a problem, look!" Chloe pointed towards Blaziken's legs as the fiery chicken crouched before shooting up into the air. His electrically charged fist crackled as he flew towards Charizard before delivering a powerful blow to his stomach!
"No way!" Ash gasped out. "I didn't know Blaziken could fly."
"Blaziken can't fly. They just have incredibly strong legs that can easily clear a 30-story building in one leap." The Rotom Phone corrected Ash.
"Now you tell me." Ash sweated.
"Pika..." Pikachu similarly sweated.
"C-Char..." Charizard grunted out as electricity faintly trailed across his body, indicating that he'd been paralyzed.
"Charizard..." Ash clenched his fist at the sight, he was tempted to call Charizard back to his ball but the look in Charizard's eye suggested that he was eager to prove himself against the rivaling Fire type starter. "Alright Charizard, let's hit them with another Dragon Pulse!"
"Char!" Charizard fired off another blue-green energy pulse which soared through Blaziken before striking him directly in the chest! Blaziken let out a gasp for air before clenching his fist as he shot Charizard a defiant look.
"Brave Bird!"
"Brave Bird? It can learn Flying type attacks?!" Giselle gasped.
"Blaze!" A light blue aura surrounded Blaziken's body as he shot across the field, his arms stretched out as if he were a child pretending to be a plane. "Blaze!" He swiftly shot towards Charizard before slamming into him, knocking Charizard back while simultaneously flinching from recoil damage.
"Char..." Charizard uttered out a grunt as he recovered from the attack.
"Let's try Flamethrower!"
"Char!" Fire began forming inside of Charizard's mouth before the fire lizard suddenly dropped to a knee as the electricity coursed through him once more.
"And it appears that Charizard's attack has been halted as a result of Paralysis!"
"Heh, finish him with Thunder Punch!"
"Blaziken!" Blaziken smirked while shooting across the field with an electrically charged punch before nailing Charizard in the stomach! Charizard's eyes grew wide as he had the air knocked out of him shortly before electricity surged through his veins causing him to utter out a pained roar.
"Charizard!" Ash called out in concern for his beloved Fire type as the fire lizard dropped towards the ground, swirls soon filled Charizard's eyes as he laid in defeat.
"No way, did Charizard just lose?!" Leaf gasped out.
"That's not good." Flash frowned.
"Charizard..." Ash stared in disbelief as he was taken off the board.
"Pika..."
"And Charizard goes down, what a show folks! Now seeing how one of our contestants is down two Pokemon, we'll be holding a quick recess as we change up the battlefield so feel free to grab a snack and drink or use the restroom as this will take a few minutes."
"Gar..." Gengar grunted out as the meteors rained down upon his body. The Ghost type shook the type off before leering at Dragonite as the Dragon charged up an orange-yellow energy beam.
"Hyper Beam!"
"Dragooo!"
"Send it back with Psychic!"
"Gar!" Gengar's eyes glowed a bright blue color as a similar color formed around the energy beam causing the attack to fly right back into Dragonite's mouth! Dragonite's bright red eyes widened as the attack flew down his throat before exploding inside his stomach. The dragon uttered out a pained growl before shaking it off.
"Outrage!" A red aura flared around Dragonite's body as he violently lashed out, repeatedly striking and slamming against Gengar as the Ghost type wailed out in pain. Dragonite's breath grew heavy while a violent look flared deep within his eyes as Gengar laid at his mercy, curled up in a defeated slump as swirls filled his eyes.
"Do it."
"Dragooo!"
"Rex don't, call Dragonite off please!" Agatha called out, she tried reaching for Gengar's ball but she was much too slow. Although her and Oak were the same age, Agatha's body didn't age quite as well as Oak's had so her movements were more slow and limited in comparison.
"He can't-Dragonite sto-!" Though Rex broke free too late, Shadow Dragonite tore Gengar apart causing spirit energy to fly across the field as the Ghost type's body broke apart while Gengar's spirit was sent to the afterlife!
Agatha clutched at her heart as her life long best friend and starter Pokemon perished. If it wasn't for Gary accepting her into his life, she'd likely have given up then and there as she didn't have anything else left. She took a minute to catch her breath before looking up with quite the furious expression. "Alright, the kid gloves are off. I'm sorry Rex but it's clear now that you can't be saved, I'm not letting you leave here. You can't escape, you're too dangerous... who knows what you'll do." She tossed her remaining five Pokeballs forward causing an Arbok, Crobat, Alolan Marowak, a second Gengar, and a purple feminine Ghost Pokemon that appeared to be wearing a witches hat to come bursting out.
"Gengar use Dazzling Gleam, Mismagius use Mystical Fire, Marowak use Shadow Bone, Crobat use Sludge Bomb, Arbok use Gunk Shot!"
"You're right Agatha, I was wrong... do it. End it!" Rex closed his eyes as he accepted his fate. Though it was clear the other being wasn't going down without a fight!
The flurry of attacks flew towards Dragonite and struck all at once but the Shadow Pokemon remained standing while not appearing to have a single scratch on him.
"I-Impossible!" Agatha gasped out while taking a frightened step backwards.
"Oblivion Wing!" In all her years as a trainer Agatha had never heard of such a move but the mere sound of it caused chills to run across her body.
"Dragoooo!" A violet light shined within Dragonite's mouth before a massive sinister looking dark red energy beam shot out. The grass beneath withered away and died as the beam flew above it causing Agatha to tense up as she realized this attack wasn't a joke. Whoever was controlling Rex was merely toying around before but wasn't messing around now as it became clear she was a threat to his existence. Before she could even reach her belt, her team withered away and turned to dust. Horror filled her and Rex's eyes as they watched the dust breeze away.
"No." Agatha clutched at her heart once more as her remaining Pokemon perished. She used to own quite a few but over the years, mortal ones such as Weezing perished of natural causes and she just didn't have it in her to replace them.
"I didn't... I didn't know that you could do that! Why haven't you used that before?" Rex couldn't help but question.
"Because an attack of that scale would give myself away, how would it look if I turned an entire cruise ship to dust? And those bodies had to be left in the open, you could handle those rookie trainers on your own no problem. Besides only Shadow Pokemon with Dragon traits are capable of utilizing it, though only once as it's too much for a normal Pokemon's body to handle. Anything beyond that is liable to kill it, which I can't afford as for some reason you, Blue and Red never bothered catching more than six Pokemon. But once I gain control of that Legendary Pokemon perhaps..." Rex felt his hands rub gleefully together. "But regardless we can't let this hag survive and give away your identity, destroy her. Destroy her now, Dragonite! Hyper Beam!"
"Dragooo!"
"Dragonite no! No Dragonite, listen to me! Embrace the hate and do what I command! Use Hyper Beam and destroy Agatha!"
"Dragoooo!" The orange-yellow energy blasted from Dragonite's mouth and flew towards Agatha as the elderly Elite Four member closed her eyes, embracing her fate as there was no way she'd outrun them.
'Well I guess this is the end for me. So long Samuel, Gary I hope that you'll tell your kids about me. I'm sorry that we couldn't form a connection while there was still time.' Agatha tearfully thought as the energy beam closed in on her. 'Blue, Fuji... I'm coming.'
The new battlefield rose from beneath the ground, showcasing a swampy terrain as pools of mucky water could be seen spread out throughout the field. Even the ground could be uncomfortable to certain Pokemon as it was squishy and soaked with mud.
"Welcome back to the finals folks, Yellow's Blaziken remains on the battlefield though she could utilize her remaining switch seeing how this battlefield doesn't exactly favor Fire types. Though her decision may be a result of Ash's next choice, let's find out what Pokemon Ash will send out next shall we?"
"Primeape I choose you!"
"Primeape!" The monkey angrily huffed out as he punched the air in front of him.
"And it appears that Ash has chosen Primeape, this Primeape is quite the feisty Pokemon and appears to grow stronger the angrier it gets. Meaning that Yellow may not want to drag the battle on for too long!"
"Blaze!" Blaziken punched and kicked at the air as he eagerly accepted the challenge.
Yellow flashed a light smirk before giving her Fire type a nod as she approved Blaziken's decision.
"Alright Primeape, this is a Mega Pokemon so you're going to have to play it safe while giving it your all!"
"Primeape!"
"Use Stomping Tantrum!"
"Prime!" Primeape angrily stomped his feet against the ground as a large chunk splintered up, the feisty monkey grabbed at the chunk of ground before hurling it towards this opponent. Blaziken attempted to leap out of the way but soon found the air getting knocked right out of his lungs as the ground chunk struck his stomach causing him to fly back before falling into a nearby mud pool with a look of disgust.
"Blaze..." Blaziken groaned out.
"Come on Blaziken, get up and use Brave Bird!"
"Counter with Outrage!" A red aura surrounded Primeape's body as his eyes became bloodshot. The monkey uttered out an angry screech and began to heavily pant as Blaziken quickly homed in on his position. The fire chicken practically flew across the field as he prepared to slam against Primeape only for the monkey to violently lash out and deal a critical blow to Blaziken's chest!
"Blaze!" Blaziken's eyes shot wide open as the air was knocked out of his lungs once more. The fiery chicken dropped to a knee before slowly raising back to his feet as he was determined not to give up but exhaustion appeared to kick in as the Mega Pokemon soon fell to his side, the battle with Charizard having dealt a great toll despite his victory. "Blaze..." He groaned out against the mud, eyes reduced to swirls as the pink light enveloped his body to bring him back to normal form.
"Blaziken is unable to battle, though Primeape didn't escape that attack unscathed as he appears to have taken a bit of damage from Blaziken's Brave Bird attack. The field is now even with both sides having lost two Pokemon, what will Yellow choose next?"
"Blaziken return, you were amazing out there and I couldn't ask anything else of you." Yellow smiled as she recalled Blaziken to his ball. The blonde placed the ball back upon her belt and focused her attention upon Primeape for a brief moment before reaching out for another ball. "I choose you, Toxicroak!"
"Croa..." Croagunk suddenly leaned forward with a look of interest as a tall dark blue bipedal frog Pokemon emerged. It bore quite a few similarities to Croagunk but there were some differences such as a bulbous red vocal sac that sat beneath his chin while red spikes sat atop his hand and intersected his fingers. It also bore a more sinister expression in comparison to Croagunk's blank and mysterious expression.
"Toxicroak!"
"Whoa, that has to be Croagunk's evolution!" Ash exclaimed while retrieving his Rotom Phone.
"Pika!"
"Toxicroak the Toxic Mouth Pokemon, it bounces toward opponents and gouges them with poisonous claws. No more than a scratch is needed to knock out its adversaries!"
Ash looked towards the red spikes that sat atop Toxicroak's hands. "So basically we have to avoid getting touched with those... alright Primeape, let's hit them with Stomping Tantrum!"
"Primeape!" Primeape slammed his fist against the ground causing another chunk of mud to emerge from the ground, he quickly grabbed hold of it before chucking it across the field. Toxicroak uttered out a light grunt as the attack knocked him off balance but soon hopped back to his feet with a battle hardened expression.
"Toxicroak..."
"Poison Jab!"
"Toxic!" Toxicroak's hand glowed a violent shade of purple as he shot across the field, his arm pulled back as he prepared to strike.
"Duck and counter with Close Combat!"
"Prime!" Primeape quickly ducked though wasn't fast enough to escape unsheathed as Toxicroak's hand punched the tip of his forehead, the red blade just narrowly missing his skin. Primeape then uttered out a feisty cry as he rapidly punched and kicked at his opponent before grabbing hold of Toxicroak as he hurled him back across the field!
"Belch!"
"Croak!" Toxicroak leaped in front of Primeape before belching out causing a purple toxic cloud to fly out his mouth and up Primeape's nose. Primeape covered his snout with a look of disgust as his cheeks turned a sickly shade of green.
"Meape!"
"Seismic Toss!"
"Counter with Sucker Punch!" Before Primeape could move, Toxicroak swiftly maneuvered around him before stabbing Primeape's backside with a red spike. Primeape's eyes widened, his cheeks turned a dark shade of purple as his eyes began rolling up into his eyes before shortly collapsing onto his side.
"Primeape..." He groaned out, eyes having turned to swirls.
"And down goes Primeape, Ash is down three Pokemon while Yellow has four remaining. Will he be able to strike back or will he fall like the others before him?"
"Primeape return, you did a good job out there and deserve a long rest." Ash smiled while returning Primeape to his Pokeball, placing it back upon his belt before quickly reaching for another. "Alright Gengar, I choose you!"
"Gengar!" Gengar cried out as he burst from his ball.
"And it looks like Ash's next choice is Gengar! This definitely complicates matters for Yellow as one hit from his Psychic attack could spell the end for Toxicroak!"
Yellow flicked her eyes about as she appeared to be thinking matters over before eventually reaching for a Pokeball. "Return."
"And it appears that Yellow decided to use her remaining switch! Hopefully she won't regret this."
Ash's eyes lit up at the revelation but kept his cool for the time being.
"I choose you, Empoleon!"
"Empoleon!" A large and proud looking blue and black emperor penguin Pokemon burst from the ball, revealing Yellow's fifth Pokemon.
"And it appears that Yellow owns an Empoleon, the final evolution of the Sinnoh starter Pokemon known as Piplup. Her team certainly shows that she's well traveled!"
"Oh wow, it's so cute!" Misty gushed out as hearts filled her eyes.
"Empo." Empoleon proudly exclaimed as he tapped his chest.
"Huh, it feels like there's a theme going on with her team." Flash spoke with a thoughtful expression only for his girlfriend to quickly dismiss it.
"You're overthinking things babe." Giselle spoke with a wave of her hand.
"Empoleon the Emperor Pokemon, if anyone were to hurt its pride it would slash them with wings that can cleave through an iceberg."
"Let's start off with Whirlpool!"
"Empooo!" Empoleon tilted his head back as a large water filled vortex formed at the tip of his beak. "Leon!" He cried out while thrusting his flippers outwards causing the vortex to rapidly swirl across the field where it swept Gengar right up before hurling him about.
"Gen... gar..." Gengar groaned out before soon bursting out into a gleeful cheer as he raised up his arms, appearing to be genuinely enjoying the ride! "Gengar!" He laughed out.
"Gengar..." Ash sweated. "Gengar fly out of there and use Shadow Ball!"
"Gengar!" Gengar let out a gleeful cry as he was flung out of the vortex, not seeming to mind much as he face planted against the dirt. The ghost quickly hopped back up before holding his hands together as a ball of purple-black static energy formed between them before firing it across the field, the ball flew towards Empoleon before exploding against his face!
"Empo.." Empoleon grunted out.
"Steel Beam!" Yellow cried out.
"Empooo!" A massive blue-silver energy beam fired from Empoleon's beak and shot across the field towards Gengar. Gengar let out a pained cry as the attack struck his body, the Ghost type was knocked back but quickly recovered from the attack.
"Gengar..."
"You okay, Gengar?"
"Gengar!" Gengar smirked while turning to give his trainer a thumbs up.
"Alright then, let's show them the new attack we've been practicing together. Use Thunderbolt!"
"Gengar!" Gengar flashed his opponent a cocky smirk as electricity crackled through his body before firing off in an electrical bolt. The bolt shot through the air before making contact with Empoleon's body, the emperor penguin uttered out a pain filled cry as the electricity surged though his body.
"Empoooo!" The attack soon stopped revealing a soot covered Empoleon who uttered out a singular cough before collapsing onto his side as swirls filled his eyes.
"And down goes Empoleon! Toxicroak and Lucario are both vulnerable to Gengar's Psychic attack but will Yellow risk sending out Chuchu knowing that she won't be able to switch her back out?"
"Empoleon return!" Yellow returned Empoleon before giving the ball a quick kiss. "You were spectacular out there and I couldn't ask more of you. I choose you, Lucario!"
"Carrrr!" Lucario roared out as he remerged from his ball.
"Gar.." Gengar formed a serious expression as he sensed the raw power radiating off his opponent's aura. "Gengar..."
"Best we keep our distance, let's attack with Meteor Mash!" Lucario's body began glowing bright blue as he shot across the field with incredible speed, he pulled his arm back before giving off a powerful swing as he nailed Gengar in the gut! Gengar's eyes widened as the Steel typed attack made contact with his body, the Ghost type appeared to be weakening but didn't show signs of wanting to give up.
"Hit them with Psychic!"
"Gengar!" Gengar's eyes turned a bright shade of blue as a similar blue hue surrounded Lucario's body, Gengar then raised up his arms causing Lucario to fly up into the air before Gengar brought him crashing back down to earth!
"Carr..." Lucario appeared to be quite bruised as he stood back onto his feet but appeared to have no issue standing as he gave his opponent a challenging look.
"Alright now we can strike, hit them with Bone Rush!"
"Carrr!" Lucario roared out as the aura infused bone club reappeared between his hands.
"Counter with Thunderbolt!"
"Gengar!" Electricity crackled and sparked through Gengar's body before another electrical bolt fired off, the bolt shot towards the charging Lucario and gave him an electrical shock but the jackal gritted his teeth and pushed through the attack before bringing his club down upon Gengar's head! "Gengar!" Gengar gasped out before falling onto his back as swirls filled his eyes.
"And Gengar is down! Lucario may have had a disadvantage but he proved himself capable and managed to pull through, will Ash's remaining two be enough to take down Lucario, Toxicroak and Chuchu? Find out after a quick recess as we change up the battlefield once more!"
"Goodbye Agatha!" The demented voice cackled out as the Hyper Beam flew towards the now defenseless Elite Four member.
"No!" A large bulky figure shot from the bushes and leaped in front of the incoming attack, taking the blunt of the attack but Agatha wasn't fortune enough to escape unscathed as the explosion sent her flying back with her head whacking hard against the ground. Breath escaped her mouth, showing that she was still breathing but in critical condition and unconscious. Blood lightly trailed down her forehead as Bruno hopped back to his feet. The Elite Four member gave Agatha a quick look before tossing a ball forward, releasing a Hitmonchan.
"Hitmon?" Hitmonchan tilted his head as he caught sight of the unconscious Elite Four member. "Chan?"
"Hitmonchan, get her to Goldenrod and find a hospital. Hurry!" Bruno shouted with a rather serious tone, quite different from his usual playful and upbeat manner. "I'll handle things here, don't worry about me!"
"Hitmon..." Hitmonchan gave his trainer a worried expression but wasn't about to disobey given Agatha's critical condition, the Fighting type quickly placed the elderly woman in his arms before racing off.
"Bruno... even better! You and Rex are quite close, in fact you're the closest thing he has to a best friend left!" The demented voice cackled as Rex's hands rubbed together.
"Rex? I'm not sure what's going on but I'm not letting you get away with hurting Agatha like that!" Bruno shouted while throwing forward an array of Pokeballs causing a Machamp, Onix, Hitmonlee, a Pokemon that greatly resembled Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee that positioned itself upside down like a top and a Poliwrath to come bursting out.
Dragonite let out a roar as he got into fighting position alongside Raichu.
"N-Nooo! No! I-I won't do it, Bruno's my friend. I-I can't kill him!"
"Enough of this nonsense, Raichu knock them back with Surf. Dragonite use Thunderbolt at full force!"
"Full force?" Bruno questioned, confusion briefly crossed his face before he realized what was going to happen. "Oh sh-!" He hastily reached for his belt but found himself locked in place as an unusual sensation flowed through him. Another pair of red flaming eyes could be seen the nearby shadows as a large wave came crashing down upon Bruno and his Pokemon, wiping them all out with ease due to Raichu's power level. Bruno and his Pokemon slowly stood back up as they prepared to fight only for a thunderbolt to come crashing down on top of them! Bruno and his Pokemon let out a pain filled cry as electricity flowed through them, Dragonite showing them no mercy as he unleashed his fury upon them. "Rex please... fight it... Rex..."
Rex bit his lip as he watched his friend get electrocuted, tears fell from his eyes before he found the strength to lunge forward. He made an attempt at tackling Dragonite only for Raichu to slash him with Iron Tail!
"Rai!" The Shadow Pokemon smirked before joining in with his own electric bolt. Rex could only watch as Bruno and his Pokemon cried out until they finally stopped, bodies completely charred and motionless as the deed was done.
"No..." Rex collapsed to his knees. "Noooo!" He cried out before his head finally vanished as the shadowy figure fully took over.
"Mine at last!" He gleefully turned towards Dragonite before hopping onto the Dragon's back. "Alright Dragonite, let's take flight to the Orange Islands! I must get preparations started!"
"Dragooo!" Dragonite cried out as Raichu climbed onto his back before the dragon took off into the sky, leaving the Johto region behind him.
"We're ending the finals with the classic battlefield folks!" The announcer called out as the battlefield transitioned back into it's normal state. "Now let's see these trainers give it their all!"
"Sceptile I choose you!"
"Sceptile!" Sceptile cried out as he burst from his ball.
"And Sceptile is Ash's fifth choice, he may just stand a shot at winning this though Toxicroak still remains on the sidelines!"
"Aura Sphere!" Yellow called out.
"Carrr!" Lucario charged up a sphere of aura between his paws before firing it off. The aura pulse flew through the air before exploding as it made contact with Sceptile's body. Sceptile grunted out before shaking himself off as he leered at his opponent.
"Sunny Day then follow up with Solar Blade!"
"Tile!" The bulbs along Sceptile's back lit bright yellow as harsh sunlight poured down upon the battlefield. A massive blade of solar energy then formed around Sceptile's arm as he raced forward before slashing at Lucario, running the blade across the jackal's face!
"C-Carr..." Lucario uttered out a frustrated growl as he shot Sceptile a harsh look.
"Meteor Mash!"
"Carrr!" Blue aura flared around Lucario as he shot across the field at rapid speed, his fist pulled back as he prepared to strike Sceptile.
"Dodge and counter with Leaf Blade!"
"Tile!" Sceptile swiftly maneuvered around Lucario before slashing his backside with his razor sharp arm blades!
"C-Carrr..." Lucario grunted out.
"Counter!"
"Car!" Lucario swiftly turned around before punching Sceptile in the gut causing the gecko's eyes to widen as he lost his breath.
"Tile..."
"Stay strong Sceptile, you can do this! Use X-Scissor!"
"Scep... tile!" Sceptile crossed his arms together into an x-formation as he shot forward before slashing his arm blades across Lucario's chest. The jackal uttered out another grunt before collapsing onto his side in defeat as swirls filled his eyes.
"And Lucario finally goes down! Both sides now have two Pokemon remaining but who will come out on top here? Will Ash switch out Sceptile for Pikachu or will he let Sceptile fight Toxicroak on his own?"
"Sceptile return for now, you were great out there and deserve a brief rest. Alright Pikachu, I choose you!"
"Pika!" Pikachu flicked his tail as he leaped out onto the battlefield.
"I choose you, Toxicroak!"
"Toxicroak..." Toxicroak croaked out as he emerged across from Pikachu.
"Poison Jab!"
"Evade with Splishy Splash!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raised his arms as a surfboard appeared beneath his feet shortly before a wave of electrified water underneath, the electricity sparked and crackled as the wave ran across the field before crashing down on top of Toxicroak! Toxicroak gurgled out through the wave as it ran around him before eventually evaporating allowing him to breathe once more as he slowly stood back to his feet.
"Hm... Earthquake!" Yellow shouted out.
"Toxic!" Toxicroak slammed his foot against the battlefield causing it to violently shake beneath Pikachu. Pikachu grunted out as his legs quivered before giving out on him causing him to collapse against the vibrating field.
"Pika..!"
"Oh my gosh, Pikachu!" Chloe gasped out.
"He'll be fine." Brock placed his hand on his friend's shoulder, reassuring her that it'd be okay.
"P-Pika..." Pikachu shook himself off before staring his opponent down with a determined expression.
"Alright Pikachu, Voltage Vortex!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's eyes shot a bright blue color as a telekinetic vortex began swirling around him, blue electricity crackled from his cheeks before flowing throughout the vortex. Pikachu then proceeded to lock eyes with his opponent before giving a flick of his tail causing the vortex of telekinetic energy and electricity to spiral towards Toxicroak before it proceeded to suck him right into it! Toxicroak groaned out as he was flung and hurled throughout the vortex while electricity repeatedly crashed against him and surged through his veins.
"T-Toxic... croak..." Toxicroak fell limp as he was flung out of the spiraling vortex before collapsing against the battlefield floor in a defeated slump as swirls filled his eyes. "Croak..."
"Toxicroak is unable to continue battling, Ash now has the lead but will that be enough? Chuchu hasn't lost a battle yet!"
"Toxicroak return, you were spectacular out there and I couldn't ask anything else of you." Yellow gave the ball a quick kiss before placing it back upon her belt. She then shot a look towards Chuchu before thrusting out her arm as she pointed towards the battlefield. "I choose you, Chuchu!"
"Pika!"
"Pikachu return!" Ash called out.
"Pika!" Pikachu quickly raced back towards Ash as he grabbed Sceptile's ball.
"Let's see what this Pikachu is made of, Sceptile use Leaf Blade!"
"Tile!" Sceptile burst out and quickly shot across the field before slashing at his opponent with his razor sharp arm blades!
"Chaaa!" Chuchu cried out as the attack sliced across her back.
Yellow flashed Ash a light smirk before tossing her straw hat into the air, allowing for her long blonde hair to flow freely as she shouted out. "Pikapika Thunder!"
"Pikapika what now?" Ash asked with a quizzical expression.
"Pika...?" Pikachu's ear jerked as he tilted his head to the side.
"Pika!" Electricity surged around Chuchu's body and fired off into the air before coming down in a series of multiple thunderbolts that struck around Sceptile before soon joining together to form one massive thunderbolt that rained down upon Sceptile!
"S-Sceptile!" Sceptile uttered out a pained cry as electricity flowed through his body before soon collapsing onto his side from exhaustion as the attack proved too much for him to handle.
"And it appears that Yellow's own specially created move has succeed in taking Sceptile out! The move's only grown stronger the closer the two have gotten over the years and has never missed yet!"
"No way, poor Sceptile..." Chloe frowned.
Ash lightly clenched his fist from the sudden reveal before recalling Sceptile back to his ball. "Sceptile return, don't worry about your loss you were great out there today. You deserve a long rest, Pikachu will take it from here. Right buddy?!"
"Pika!" Pikachu smirked while giving a nod in response before leaping out onto the battlefield as the two Pikachu began staring each other down, their tails anxiously flicked as they knew that whoever came out on top today would be known as the strongest Pikachu!
"We're down to the final stretch folks! Both trainers are down to their starter Pokemon, very powerful Pikachu that gave other trainers a hard time throughout their respective League challenges but only one of these Pikachu can come out on top and earn the title of the superior Pikachu. Which will it be? Will it be the son of Red Ketchum's? Or the adventurous Yellow's? We'll soon find out!" The crowd loudly cheered as the two Pikachu stared each other down.
