Chapter 9: Home Is Wherever You Are
The rest of the day Tom and Ginny spent in bed.
They were laying on their backs, breathing hard.
"I feel like I just ran a marathon or something," she gasped.
He laughed, "Me too. Want to go for another run?"
She looked at him with a raised eyebrow and laughed when he rolled on top of her. She flipped them over, making him gasp in surprise. She grinned and captured his lips in a searing kiss.
They made love again, slowly, taking their time.
Ginny was awake, stroking Tom's hair as he lay next to her with his head resting on her chest.
"You are going back, aren't you?" asked Tom sleepily.
"Yes, love. But I am going to keep in touch with you through the diary, and see how it goes, there is a big chance that I will leave Hogwarts behind and just stay with you,"
"If that will be the case, I will teach you everything," said Tom, adjusting his head on her chest so he could look in to her eyes.
"I know, it's the reason why I am not worried of dropping off school," she smiled at him.
He kissed her lips and turned his head back on her chest in a more comfortable position.
"I am going to disband my Death Eaters, and you can tell Potter that I won't be coming after him anymore. I have you, I don't need anything else,"
Ginny kissed the top of his head.
"I better get going, I have things to do, and so does you," said Ginny.
"You go, I am going back to sleep," said Tom, moving back to his pillow.
"Sleepy head," she rolled her eyes.
"Love you too." Said Tom, making her laugh.
After taking a shower and putting on a fresh cloak she took from Tom and her shoes, she was ready to go.
Ginny kissed his forehead, and he opened his eyes.
"Want me to apparate you to Hogsmeade?" asked Tom sleepily.
"No, I will take the Knight Bus, you can sleep," said Ginny.
"You got money?" asked Tom.
"Yeah, I had some in my ruined cloak, it's right here on the night stand." Said Ginny, pocketing her coins.
"Needs more?" asked Tom.
"I have enough, I love you,"
He gave her a peck on the lips, "I love you too, good luck."
With a last kiss to his head she headed out to go to Hogwarts and face the music.
Ginny was holding herself to her chair and the bus as it sped through the streets, passing in narrow places he shouldn't pass in a speed that shouldn't be legal.
"Hogsmeade," called the conductor.
"Thanks," said Ginny and got off the bus.
The moment both of her feet hit the road the bus was gone like it was never there.
Ginny walked up to the castle walls.
She was surprised to find Snape waiting for her. He opened the gate, and after she passed through, closed it.
"The dark lord sent a Patronus, saying you are on your way," he answered the unspoken question.
She smiled.
"I know it's been a long couple of days, but do you think we can gather everyone that were at the mysteries department and the rest of my family?"
"Of course. Anyone else?"
"Draco if is he up to it, I know his father was captured," said Ginny.
"I will ask,"
"Thank you. Am I supposed to be locked up or may I go to my room?" asked Ginny.
She never told Tom that she was worried she may get locked up since Dumbledore and maybe some more official people knew about her relationship with him.
"You are not a prisoner. Go to your room if you like, I will ask Dumbledore to gather in my classroom if that works for you?"
"Yes, thanks. Just sent me a Patronus when it will be the time," said Ginny.
"Sure. Want me to shorten his cloak for you?" he asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. she was holding the cloak off the ground so she wouldn't stumble on it.
She giggled, "No, I am good, but thanks."
He smiled as they entered the castle and went their separate ways, she up and him down.
I am at my room at the castle.
You are home. Talked to anyone yet?
No, home is wherever you are, and no, not yet. Snape is gathering them.
You are my home too. I wish I could be there for you.
I will be fine, love.
A Patronus shaped as a doe showed up in her room, "it's time." Said Snape's voice and the Patronus vanished.
I need to go. I will talk with you later.
Alright. Good luck and I love you, Kitten.
I love you too, hon'.
Ginny put the diary in her cloak pocket and went down to the potions classroom.
She opened the door and entered, closing it behind her.
The shouts and questions started immediately, but she ignored them looking around.
It seems like unintentionally, the people gathered seated themselves in groups.
On one side sat Draco, Snape, Luna, Sirius, Remus and surprisingly Zabini, she barely knew the boy.
On the other side of the room were Dumbledore with her parents, Ron, Hermione, and Harry.
In the middle sat her older brothers – Charlie, Bill, Fred, and George (Percy was still avoiding the family) and any order members that weren't one hundred percent sure what's going on.
When the noise didn't die down, Zabini put two fingers in his mouth and whistled. Everyone got quiet and she smiled at him with gratitude. He winked at her.
"Well, hello. I know you have questions but let me say what I have to say first," she started.
"Last summer I stumbled up on a diary I wasn't aware I had. Apparently I have made a copy of the diary that was controlling me when I opened the chamber of secrets on my first year, either way I had no idea I have made it, until last summer."
She took a breath and started pacing.
"I wrote in it, and unlike the last time, the words didn't disappear. I was answered too, and at first I panicked when I realized my pen pal was Voldemort, but I am in Gryffindor for a reason, and I made it clear to him. He became my friend at first, taught me advanced magic and potions, comforted me when I was upset, until he became more. He was never Voldemort to me, with me he was always Tom, he shared stuff with me, made me laugh and changed his appearance for me, even that it was a very risky thing to do,"
Ginny felt like her throat was full of sand.
A hand offered her a glass of water. She looked up in to the eyes of Remus.
"Thanks,"
He just smiled and went back to his seat.
"Tom was honest with me from the start. I fell in love with him and hoped to be his way for redemption. He is going to disband his Death Eaters, and he told me to tell Harry that he won't come after him anymore. He said that if he has me, he doesn't need anything else." Finished Ginny and took a seat on the floor against Snape's desk.
"Just to be clear – Tom is you-know- who?" asked George.
"Yes you idiot," said Fred.
Ginny grinned, she loved her brothers.
"Tom Marvolo Riddle," clarified Ginny.
"If that was my name I may have changed it too," said Fred. Getting a few laughs.
"Fred! George! It's not funny! Your sister is involved with the worst wizard of our time, with a murderer!" called Molly.
"Mom, she is in love and fixing him. She practically finished the second war before it could get too bad. I know it's not the most normal relationship, but it's Ginny. Ginny was always unique, it's just that none of you ever notice. Me and George, we did." Said Fred.
"He killed so many people!"
"A lot of people here did," said Sirius.
"Not innocent ones!" protested Molly.
"Then you are naïve Molly. Sure, none of us may have killed innocents on purpose, but I am sure some of us killed innocents as well," said Sirius.
"He killed your best friend," said Molly.
Sirius eyes were blazing. "And I blame myself and Pettigrew for it. I did the switch of the secret keeper, and Pettigrew gave them away. It doesn't mean I will ruin Ginny's happiness for my vengeance,"
Ginny looked at him with eyes full of tears.
He smiled at her softly.
"She may love him, but Voldemort is incapable of love. People that are a product of love potions or love spells, can't love, and this is how he came in to this world," said Dumbledore.
"Sorry professor, but you are wrong." Said Luna in her usual dreamy voice.
"Luna! That's completely inappropriate-"
"Let her finish, mom!" protested Bill.
"My mother… She loved to experiment with magic, love magic too. Sure my father never protested, but they were never in love when they married, I am a pure blood, my parents' marriage was arranged, old school. But they wanted to be in love when they had me, so they took the potion, both of them. That is how I was born, and I love, I love a lot. Creatures that people fear of, and boys, and the little friends that I have, and my father and my dead mother, and at the moment I am pretty sure that I love one man that I will keep to myself, thank you very much,"
Half of the room laughed at her last comment.
Dumbledore said nothing.
"I can use his wand like it was my own," said Ginny.
"He let you use his wand?" asked Charlie.
"Yes, before I got mine back." Said Ginny.
"That's unusual, not only the fact that it worked for you, but also the fact that he gave it to you," said Shacklebolt.
"Is it similar to yours?" asked Remus.
"Only the wood, Yew." Said Ginny.
"That's interesting," said Remus.
"Why?" asked Ginny.
"Not only you can use his wand with no problem, but you also share the same type of wood that your wands are made of? All of this is very rare… Maybe you two just meant to be,"
"Remus! Don't encourage her!" protested Molly.
"Mom, this meeting is only to clear things up, I am not leaving Tom, I will never leave Tom. Even if it means that I will need to drop off of school and having only him without any of you in my life. If I lose him, I will die," said Ginny.
"Literally, I believe. I have made some research since I learned of their relationship. There aren't soul mates in the wizarding world, but there are bound souls. Ginny and Tom souls are bound together, I am not sure how it happened, but it is their case," explained Snape.
"But Severus, I am sure you can find a way to break that bond?" asked Molly.
"MOM! You are not listening to me, you never does!" called Ginny, jumping on her feet.
"I AM NOT LEAVING HIM, I WILL NEVER LEAVE HIM!" shouted Ginny, and then her eyes rolled back in to her head, and she collapsed.
"Ginny!"
In the Riddle mansion Tom collapsed as well, tumbling down the stairs.
When Ginny opened her eyes she was on the couch in Snape's office, he was the only one there with her.
"Hey there, you scared us," said Snape.
"I am o.k. I need to check on Tom," said Ginny.
"He is alright, I sent Draco and Blaise over there through the Floo. He did fell down the stairs when you collapsed, but luckily nothing was broken," said Snape.
"Thanks,"
"How are you feeling?" asked Snape.
"Dizzy,"
"Here, drink that, it will help," he gave her a glass with some blue potion.
She drank it and thanked him.
"I can't go home, my mom will drive me crazy trying to brake me and Tom apart," said Ginny.
"I talked with your brothers, Ronald is the only one of them that will turn his back on you. The aurors won't hunt him openly, but if they will see him he will be arrested, but in time they will forget, and they will move on unless the war will start over," said Snape.
"Really? I mean, I noticed that the twins were on my side, but I didn't expect Bill and Charlie. And don't worry, the war will not start over, not under Tom's command at least,"
"Alright. I need to go, he summoned us about ten minutes ago, I waited for you to wake up first," said Snape.
"O.k. go then," said Ginny.
He nodded at her and left in his usual swirl of black robes.
In the potions' classroom, there were her supporters, with the addition of her parents, Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Professor Dumbledore.
"Ginny, you seem better," said Dumbledore.
"Yes, I am better. I would like to go to my room," said Ginny.
"Ginny we still need to talk about all of this," said Molly.
"I love you mom and I love you dad, but I have nothing more to say," said Ginny with a sighed.
"You will not contact with him anymore, do you understand?" asked Molly.
"I will do as I pleased,"
"Then you are not welcome in our house until you stop this rebellious nonces," said Molly.
"Rebellious? If you think that this is just a faze, you were not listening to anything that was said here, as usual, you never listen. And if you want me out of the house, fine!" called Ginny and stormed out of the room with Draco, Blaise and Luna on her heels.
"Hey red! Wait up!" called Draco, startling some Ravenclaw first years.
Ginny stopped in the hall. She looked at the two blonds and one dark boy in between them in wonder.
"Are you alright?" asked Draco.
"Are you?" asked Ginny.
"Ah?"
"Your dad is in Azkaban," Ginny reminded him.
"I am fine, mom not so much, but she will be o.k. what's wrong with you, fainting and all,"
"Right. I have no idea. By the way, are you sure Tom is alright?" asked Ginny.
"Yeah, he said so," said Blaise.
"He lies when he is in pain," said Ginny.
"Oh. Then I have no idea," said Blaise.
Ginny took a seat on a window sill in the hall and opened her diary.
Are you alright, Kitten?
Are you?
Yes, didn't your friends tell you?
Yes, but I know you, and you lie when you are hurt.
I just disband the Death Eaters.
You are deflecting again, love.
I will be fine, Severus insisted on checking me over.
Good.
No. He is a terrible healer, everything hurt more when he checks you.
You will survive.
Meany.
Tough life hon'.
I want to see you.
Soon, love.
"Well?" asked Luna.
"He is whining like a child, so he will be fine," said Ginny.
The others chuckled.
"So what are you going to do? You were basically kicked out of home." Said Blaise.
"I don't know, move in with Tom? I mean, I wasn't kicked out of Hogwarts yet," said Ginny with a shrug.
"You can stay with me," said Luna, "or with Sirius,"
"With Sirius, ah? You did say you love a man," smirked Draco.
"Yes, I find him… handsome," said Luna.
"He is, Azkaban quite messed him up, but he will get better, now that he is free," said Ginny.
"What, you don't find Tom handsome?" asked Blaise.
"I do, but even if I didn't, he found himself handsome enough for the both of us," chuckled Ginny.
"Well, he is quite gorgeous, but Sirius is more my type, I think," said Luna.
"You are something special, Lovegood, I mean it in the most positive way," said Blaise.
"Thank you?" she said doubtfully making the rest of them laugh.
Suddenly they froze.
"Red, trouble," Draco tilted his head toward Harry, Ron and Hermione that were coming up the stairs.
Ginny saw her brother glaring at her direction. Before Harry and Hermione could stop him he was running toward her.
Draco and Blaise took a stand closer to Ginny while Luna just stared at him.
"You stupid child, you are breaking our family apart and for what? For a Slytherin murderer?" he snarled.
"Ronald, fuck off with your rudeness and prejudices," said Luna.
Ron pulled his wand, but Luna sent him flying, flipping in the air.
"Wow Lovegood, remind me to never piss you off," said Draco.
She smiled at him, "come on, let's escort Ginny to her dorms, and then you could escort me to mine," said Luna, entwining her arm with Ginny's, leaving the boys to follow them with stunned expressions on their faces.
Hi,
Some stuff I forgot to tell you.
Small bold writing = Tom handwriting.
Small regular writing = Ginny handwriting.
Big regular writing is the story. (Big bold too).
