Chapter 16: The Whole Truth
Ginny was breast feeding their new baby, while waiting for Tom to tell her something she already suspected. She smiled when she noticed that he realized what she was doing and was looking away with a blush on his cheeks.
"Do you know what a horcrux is?" asked Tom.
"I do," she answered.
He stared at her with wide eyes.
She smiled softly. "You told me about some books, and I came across them when I was at Sirius', the first summer, when we started talking, and then I just knew. I figured that that was how you came back to life, how you didn't die when you were killed when your curse bounced from Harry,"
"When I got this body, I did some spell to gather the soul pieces back to me. I had seven horcruxes,"
"Eight love, Harry is an unintentional one,"
He stared at her.
"One was missing, it was taken. But you're telling me that Potter is another one?" asked Tom.
"Yes. Do you want to get those two pieces back?" asked Ginny.
"How could you be o.k. with this?" asked Tom.
"Probably because I already knew. Tell me about the other one besides Harry," asked Ginny.
"It was Salazar's locket. Gold and round with a big S on it,"
"Do you know who took it?" asked Ginny.
"He signed a note with his initials, R.A.B. I don't know who it could be,"
"Who could figure out your secret?"
"The fool," said Tom immediately.
Ginny rolled her eyes at him. "His initials is like five letters,"
"Right. A death eater?" suggested Tom.
Ginny finished feeding the baby and was tapping on her back to make her burp.
When she was done Tom took the baby in his arms and was rocking her lightly.
"Most of them are dumb, but it wouldn't be anyone I know or heard of, it was probably years ago," said Ginny, climbing slowly out of the bed. She loved magic. Thanks to the spells and potions of Snape, she was barely in any pain from the child birth.
"Easy, darling," said Tom, moving to stand next to her.
"I am fine. I am going to take a shower," said Ginny.
"I will put the baby in the crib and change the sheets," said Tom.
"Thank you, and we will need to come up with a better name then 'baby' for her," said Ginny.
He laughed as Ginny went in to the shower.
"Did you come up with anything?" asked Ginny as she climbed in to the bed in her pajamas.
"For the baby or the death eater?" asked Tom. He was laying on the bed with the baby resting on his chest.
"Both," she rolled her eyes at him.
"Maybe about the death eater, no about the baby,"
"Go on," said Ginny.
"I had a death eater that I ordered his death. His first and last name fits but I don't know his middle name," said Tom.
"Who was it?" asked Ginny.
"Regulus Black,"
Suddenly Ginny sat up. "It's him."
"How do you know?" asked Tom.
"There is a bedroom in Sirius's house with those initials on the door. His brother was Regulus Arcturus Black. It fit. Why did you order his death?"
"He wanted to leave the Death Eaters, and I suspected that he knew too much,"
"He obviously did, since he took the locket," said Ginny.
"I used his house elf when I put the locket where I did."
"House elves are loyal to the family they served, he was ordered to do as you pleased I suppose, but if you didn't order him to be quiet about it, he probably told Regulus about the whole thing,"
"I left him for dead. I had no reason to order him to keep quiet. When Regulus tried to leave not long afterward, I figured he knew somehow,"
"So the locket must be in Sirius' house." Said Ginny.
"Was he there?" sighed Tom.
"Was who where?" asked Ginny.
"Regulus, in your death experience,"
"I wouldn't know. I don't know how he looked like," said Ginny softly, stroking his hair.
"I am sorry." He whispered.
She kissed his head and then his lips.
"Well, we solved one name mystery. What are we going to do with the other?" asked Ginny after a while.
They were still in bed, the baby on Tom's chest.
"Good question. How about you will choose the first name, and I will choose the middle name?" suggested Tom.
"Alright." Agreed Ginny and they were quiet for a while.
"I got mine." Said Tom.
"Me too."
"You first then," said Tom.
"Jade. What did you choose for her middle name?" asked Ginny.
"Joy." Said Tom.
"Jade Joy Riddle. JJ for short, it's kind of cute," said Ginny.
"You like it?" asked Tom.
"Yes. You?" asked Ginny.
"Yes," smiled Tom.
"What about you, tiny?" whispered Ginny to the baby.
"I don't hear any protest," said Tom, making her laugh.
Ginny found the locket at Sirius' house, and after arranging a meeting with Harry, Tom got the last pieces of his soul back in his body.
By the summer, JJ grew in to a beautiful baby with black hair and lovely bright brown eyes.
Hi,
Some stuff I forgot to tell you.
Small bold writing = Tom handwriting.
Small regular writing = Ginny handwriting.
Big regular writing is the story. (Big bold too).
